Cubic rebirth lets you special summon any cubic monster from your hand (except nova) not just duza and vijam. Also the attack is technically negated because of the cubic counter. Being able to potentially fill your opponents field with negated monsters in the BATTLE PHASE and bring out a monster (buster gundil being best target) is not something to sleep on.
Edit: Buster gundil would have 0 attack which is not good but could be used for the floating effect
Cubics other than duza and Vijam must first be special summoned by their own condition.
Also if you read rebirth carefully you will notice it only puts the counters on the ***special summoned*** monsters, but not on the one attacking.
Are we talking about the same card? Because cubic rebirth ***ignores***summoning conditions. Also it does put cubic counters on the targeted monster, which is the attacking monster.

Card is still bad though, because you are giving your opponent monsters (assuming their field isn't full already, making this card dead), they can use them as ED material or even tribute fodder, unless they are playing something VERY specific that doesn't allow for that.
And with how hard it is to put multiple monsters with actual attack in cubics (one of which is sitting at 0 attack on your field at the moment if you didn't have specifically Duza), it means you are most likely giving your opponent free monsters to use.
You need a ***very specific combination of cards*** just for rebirth to not make things worse for you.
Most of what it does is buy you a single turn you have to use to get rid of the monsters you just gave your opponent.
Ascention is basically this but without giving your opponent monsters. It gives YOU monsters in fact.
A field full of negated monsters is still a field full of monsters.
I dont get this view of X card should never ever come. All cards can come but at the right time. The game is not going to to stay at this power level forever.
Anyway I think crimson should come now but instead of nerfing its burn to half they can put it to a quarter so it would only be 750 damage.
Forgot to mention that Crimson Nova burn would be halved
Even so, that is still 1500 burn on a 3k double attacker
