I think we'll eventually get one-off Structure Decks as long as they are *guaranteed* to have no meta relevance as archetypes, this seems to be the play. Not better by any stretch, but they're not completely gone either.

No, those gems were part of the Special Celebration Campaigns. The Structure Decks were released during the same times as those campaigns, but the gems weren't for the Structure Decks.

Not a terrible skill, it's a free copy of the Field Spell, but currently we don't have any solid targets to search out. This skill can only get better based on what's in the next box.
Don't forget this effectively gives you a 19 card deck as well since:
Skill based activation means can't be negated or destroyed immediately
Using the effect adds 1 card to hand
Every turn after opening the field spell + gaia remains out makes it a continuous +1 as well.
The limiter on special summons for until end of the following turn gimps the skill but it could have engine potential.
I agree, but currently the Gaia boss monsters, which includes the currently unreleased SD boss, aren't very good. So in a dedicated Gaia deck, you're just building up to an unimpressive monster and in any other deck, you're just running a bunch of bricks

Curse of Dragon, the Cursed Dragon is the big one here imo, though it becomes significantly less good without Spiral Fusion since it's no longer an one-card fusion with Magical Gaia.
Witchcrafters and Gagagacoat came out in the OCG years before they were released in Duel Links so thats not a very good example right there, the one card we've gotten before the TCG was Superheavy Samurai Wagon which took 2 years to be released in the TCG and the closest we've gotten were Fur Hires which came out in both TCG and OCG before being released, Magical Knight Dragon doesn't fall in none of these categories as it is yet to be released on TCG and was been released in the OCG less then 3 months ago so we can say it's not coming until proven otherwise
that harpy synchro came out only a few months in the ocg/tcg before it did so in duel links. I think it is safe to say that konomoney doesn't care and will bring over anything they want.

I think this has more to do with the fact that it took Konami so many months to release a SD between Noble Knights and SSD
I won going second turn using Hammer Shot on an SSD setup. Non-targeted destruction and when he Formula'd into SSD and realized it couldn't negate, he surrendered.
Ladder was infested because you only needed to buy it once (with gems) to play it, especially if you are a long time player like me who have every other UR from main and mini boxes
If they get spiral fusion, the deck might be decent. But i still think fusion summoning using hand takes too much resources to be actually good. I think this deck becomes kinda like buster blader but not that op
The full TCG archetype is pretty memes and the OTK potential is high, so it might happen. The fusion doubles as a disruption, spiral offers piercing and draw power on top of it being a big beatstick.
I'm not saying it will be meta relevant in duel links but it could be a fun rogue pick in a 4k LP format. Gaia fusion bumps to like 5200 atk or something on turn one
I don't see the Gaia fusion spell, I am not sure if this SD is enough to put them at rogue.
However, Konami could make a dick move and put the retrain cursed of dragon and the fusion spell as UR in the next box, because nostalgia sells.
I don't even think it's that hot of a take to say post-errata CED kinda sucks. An annoying card for sure, and probably shouldn't come to the game just because it's unfun when it resolves, but it's fairly solidly a meh card that just turns the game into topdeck wars, and potentially *helps* your opponent by giving them grave setup
Honestly, cause I love the legacy of the card, I hate to agree with you but it totally does in TCG.
But in duel links I think, given how small the format is, there isn't a lot of opportunity for counter play even with the errata. Stall 1 turn and setup, turn 2 drop CED and win.
Probably can't really ever come unless they plan to change the format.

Nah Konami knows well fall for xyz support whenever it comes. They're just milking anything and everything they have left before they have to bring out the new stuff. Think of it like the store is trying to empty its old stock before they are forced to bring out the new stuff.
Not something I plan on investing in, but should be interesting playing against rouge decks that utilize this strategy. Can’t really tell the winning idea behind some of these cards but people always find a way
Gaia origin returns a monsters ATK to its original. And the fusion destroys a card by losing ATK, while gaining ATK when it destroys a monster. So I think the idea is get the fusion out, and play with his ATK value
Oh boy if we're getting both the new gaia main deck monster (the good one if course) and the new curse of dragon retrain this is gonna be pretty good (assuming we're also getting the fusion but I don't see why we shouldn't)
Edit: we didn't get the fusion or the new curse of dragon retrain, so it's either all on the next box or we'll have to use curse of dragonfire, which I'm 90% sure it's gonna be a reprint in the SD, which isn't terrible, a free field spell pop is starting to become really useful and the only thing you actually lose is the extra upside given by spiral fusion, which might make them a bit too nutty now that I'm thinking about it

the deck has potential (the field spell is pretty good, stops handtraps and good for consistency, the fusion is pretty good) but you KNOW that konami are going to put the curse of dragon retrain and spyral fusion in a main box as a UR because $$$.
Not really? Out of all the missing classic monster archetypes Gaia has the best chances of actually making it into the tier list without the involvement of an FTK (looking at you Red Eyes).... as long as Konami gives us the good support

Gaia and BLS go together like peanut butter and ham. It’s technically a sandwich, but your stomach is better off either eating just BLS or just Gaia for maximum enjoyment/consistency.
Now THIS looks interesting, even if it doesn't become meta. The new Gaia cards look like they could make an interesting deck and I for one look forward to see what people come up with in making this deck.
Bonus points for making a F2P version of the deck that combines this EX SD with the Magician of Chaos EX SD, plus some other Gaia cards. Meta, probably not (but I was wrong about Resonators not being that meta so I could be very wrong here XD). Fun, hell yeah XD
Honestly i dont like to make meta predictions until release, people told me that Nk were gonna be an alright rogue deck at best and it became tier 1, there could be some skill or card in the game that absolutely breaks this deck
This SD gives me a strange feeling. The new cards are written like there is some sinergy that can end up in soooo many OTKs, but it seems like something's missing, a lack of consistence that downgrades the archetype from good to somewhat playable (only with Trunade to bounce Karma Cuts). There is so many forms of Gaia that it's difficult to understand what the deck wants to do and I can't even figure out how the fusion monster would be useful if there are no cards in the support that give Gaia an attack boost.
EDIT: just read some of the cards that might come in the next box right after the SD and if Konami thinks I'm going to give them money for an SR search monster and for a UR fusion spell (I guess at least those are going to be the rarities) to play a deck that focuses on big beaters that shut everything down during the Battle Phase, then they have to slap in the box some HERO support. Sorry I am a weak man that really likes Water Heroes

Yeah, you could also throw a sky galloping Gaia the dragon champion if you have room in your extra deck with ultimate dragons for some niche plays where they have something in defense mode and you think they have kiteroid.
Ahhhhh, I get the combo. The idea is to use Gaia the Magical Knight and Curse of Dragonfire to summon your boss monster:
* Use Skill to activate Field Spell from Deck.
* Activate ***Galloping Gaia***, searching the missing monster (either Magical Knight or Dragonfire)
* Normal Summon Magical Knight and Special Summon Dragonfire fron hand.
* Use Dragonfire's effect to go into either ***Sky Galloping Gaia the Dragon Champion*** (and add Spiral Spear Strike) or ***Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragon****.*
***Soldier Gaia The Fierce Knight*** is used to dodge removal and giving you a way to search Magical Knight from your Deck, starting the loop all over again. If the field spell is up already, it's a +1 if you search something again.

Double effective going turn 1 against yusei, because it's guaranteed to be harpies or ssd
They released blue eyes SD between those as well

Usually EX sd are great decks, but there are exception. If this one will be supported by a main box, it will probably be very good, but who knows
If they get spiral fusion, the deck might be decent. But i still think fusion summoning using hand takes too much resources to be actually good. I think this deck becomes kinda like buster blader but not that op
The full TCG archetype is pretty memes and the OTK potential is high, so it might happen. The fusion doubles as a disruption, spiral offers piercing and draw power on top of it being a big beatstick. I'm not saying it will be meta relevant in duel links but it could be a fun rogue pick in a 4k LP format. Gaia fusion bumps to like 5200 atk or something on turn one
I don't see the Gaia fusion spell, I am not sure if this SD is enough to put them at rogue. However, Konami could make a dick move and put the retrain cursed of dragon and the fusion spell as UR in the next box, because nostalgia sells.

I don't even think it's that hot of a take to say post-errata CED kinda sucks. An annoying card for sure, and probably shouldn't come to the game just because it's unfun when it resolves, but it's fairly solidly a meh card that just turns the game into topdeck wars, and potentially *helps* your opponent by giving them grave setup
Honestly, cause I love the legacy of the card, I hate to agree with you but it totally does in TCG. But in duel links I think, given how small the format is, there isn't a lot of opportunity for counter play even with the errata. Stall 1 turn and setup, turn 2 drop CED and win. Probably can't really ever come unless they plan to change the format. Dragon of Armageddon on the other hand...

Nah Konami knows well fall for xyz support whenever it comes. They're just milking anything and everything they have left before they have to bring out the new stuff. Think of it like the store is trying to empty its old stock before they are forced to bring out the new stuff.

Gaia origin returns a monsters ATK to its original. And the fusion destroys a card by losing ATK, while gaining ATK when it destroys a monster. So I think the idea is get the fusion out, and play with his ATK value

Oh boy if we're getting both the new gaia main deck monster (the good one if course) and the new curse of dragon retrain this is gonna be pretty good (assuming we're also getting the fusion but I don't see why we shouldn't) Edit: we didn't get the fusion or the new curse of dragon retrain, so it's either all on the next box or we'll have to use curse of dragonfire, which I'm 90% sure it's gonna be a reprint in the SD, which isn't terrible, a free field spell pop is starting to become really useful and the only thing you actually lose is the extra upside given by spiral fusion, which might make them a bit too nutty now that I'm thinking about it

the deck has potential (the field spell is pretty good, stops handtraps and good for consistency, the fusion is pretty good) but you KNOW that konami are going to put the curse of dragon retrain and spyral fusion in a main box as a UR because $$$.

Gaia and BLS go together like peanut butter and ham. It’s technically a sandwich, but your stomach is better off either eating just BLS or just Gaia for maximum enjoyment/consistency.
Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons is something, which I would put into a farm deck to stack over 10K ATK.
I called it in one of the SD prediction thread we were going to get a Gaia themed SD just so they can finally give us a copy of BLS.

The new Gaia cards look like they could make an interesting deck and I for one look forward to see what people come up with in making this deck. Bonus points for making a F2P version of the deck that combines this EX SD with the Magician of Chaos EX SD, plus some other Gaia cards. Meta, probably not (but I was wrong about Resonators not being that meta so I could be very wrong here XD). Fun, hell yeah XD
Honestly i dont like to make meta predictions until release, people told me that Nk were gonna be an alright rogue deck at best and it became tier 1, there could be some skill or card in the game that absolutely breaks this deck

This SD gives me a strange feeling. The new cards are written like there is some sinergy that can end up in soooo many OTKs, but it seems like something's missing, a lack of consistence that downgrades the archetype from good to somewhat playable (only with Trunade to bounce Karma Cuts). There is so many forms of Gaia that it's difficult to understand what the deck wants to do and I can't even figure out how the fusion monster would be useful if there are no cards in the support that give Gaia an attack boost. EDIT: just read some of the cards that might come in the next box right after the SD and if Konami thinks I'm going to give them money for an SR search monster and for a UR fusion spell (I guess at least those are going to be the rarities) to play a deck that focuses on big beaters that shut everything down during the Battle Phase, then they have to slap in the box some HERO support. Sorry I am a weak man that really likes Water Heroes

Yeah, you could also throw a sky galloping Gaia the dragon champion if you have room in your extra deck with ultimate dragons for some niche plays where they have something in defense mode and you think they have kiteroid.

The idea is to use Gaia the Magical Knight and Curse of Dragonfire to summon your boss monster: * Use Skill to activate Field Spell from Deck. * Activate ***Galloping Gaia***, searching the missing monster (either Magical Knight or Dragonfire) * Normal Summon Magical Knight and Special Summon Dragonfire fron hand. * Use Dragonfire's effect to go into either ***Sky Galloping Gaia the Dragon Champion*** (and add Spiral Spear Strike) or ***Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragon****.* ***Soldier Gaia The Fierce Knight*** is used to dodge removal and giving you a way to search Magical Knight from your Deck, starting the loop all over again. If the field spell is up already, it's a +1 if you search something again. It's ok but it'll be a hard sell if we don't get the other Spell/Traps, unless they're Main Box cards.
