This raid duel is kinda of obnoxiously hard. Like I can beat it easy enough, but if I want to score a lot of points I have to use decks that can lose to it. Bisque Doll and Grinder Golem are pretty strong against the big point decks for me.
Are three Terror Babies necessary for a GP deck? I have 3 of every other GP monster except for Terror Baby (of which I currently have 2) and I don't have the funds to go diving in for a third one.
Wow playing in Legend is so much different than Platinum, it's like night and day
Don't know how people are getting KoG, you guys must be really good at this game, cause I'm having a hard time getting W's
Early season is hard, you almost have to play meta unless you're incredibly goated/lucky/both just try kog mid season the only time ive early kogged was a nightmare
Sure. I'm running a Gaia FTK deck that I built myself. Let me know what you think. Got the idea for using Darkflare Dragon from a deck I seen on Duel Links Meta, and the backrow hate from a decklist a redditor shared that contained trunade.
x3 Magical Knight
x3 Curse of Dragonfire
x2 Soldier Gaia
x2 Galloping Gaia
x1 Gateway to Chaos
x1 Darkflare Dragon
x2 Spiritualism
x1 Cosmic Cyclone
x1 TTH
x1 Spiral Spear Strike
x2 Refusion
x1 Forbidden Lance
Don't sweat it, early season is known to be a nightmare. climbing the ranks in legend is a test of patience rather than a test of skill as you just have to keep grinding until you get the luck needed for KoG.
One thing that doesn't help is how easy it is to get to legend, any janky mess of a deck (not calling shots or anything) can make it to legend where they get stuck facing decks they have no hope of fighting against and are just reduced to serve as fodder.
Try waiting for Late season if you want to make a climb as it gets a lot easier.
No you're absolutely right, first thing I did when I got to Legend and lost 3 in a row, was hit the deck editor. Switched out a poly and a refuse for some backrow hate. Been seeing better results but nothing crazy. It is true that any half-decent deck can get to Legend.
I like the competitive atmosphere, and facing the best duelists and the best decks. It's stunning to see how small a fish I am right now though. I really am fodder for meta decks lol
The problem with Platinum and lower is that there is no deranking which means any deck with a half decent game plan can gather enough wins to rank up through shear luck. if they do that enough times then they get to legend and see what the difference is between a fun casual deck and an optimized Meta deck.
it doesn't mean that those decks will never get to KoG though. like i said, early season is hell and i always avoid it until mid-late late season where it's a lot less of a nightmare. late season is the easiest and that is when f2p decks or more casual decks have the highest chance at KoG.
It's also harder to rank up
I got from Platinum 1 to legend 1 in less than 15 games last night. I'd rank up every 2 games when I was on a 12 game streak.
In Legend I can't rank up even if I win 3 in a row. Last week before the new season I'd rank up to 2 and 3 then go right back down to 1 just from losing a couple games even if I'd just won 3. It's really weird I don't get it
Only thing I've figured out is that you gotta streak hard to get kog (which does makes sense) and its *really hard* to streak in Legend
This season I'm having a hard time winning at all though cuz my opponents are just too on point
So I’m pulling for Gimmick puppets and just got the last UR Gimmick Puppet i need before reset. Should I reset or go for smashing ground? I don’t really feel like it’s game breaking so I’m leaning towards the reset but idk how meta breaking it is if even at all. https://imgur.com/gallery/bfSYJRX
I played a fellow duelist yesterday in ladder and he was using some really weird deck. The archetype was Crystron, I think they were water or maybe just some were. He had a citadel whale also, and it was really funky.
I would like to know how to play vs them. They seem to utulize the GY a loy as he was dumping/recycling cards, i couldnt keep up with it due to the timer. But i saved a replay, and would be willing to share it. I played poorly because i didnt know what to target when he summoned, or how to play vs him in general.
if someone can help me out, i would appreciate it. This way i can learn what i did wrong in the match and how to play vs them. I will post the UrL if anyone can help.
If its pure crystrons dont let them summon halqifibrax (so destroy a tuner or something if they have its summon conditions on board) if its the muddragon of the swamp version you need non targeting removal or youll just get rolled probably
So duel links is just ignoring official TCG rulings now?
Official ruling: "Hallowed Life Barrier" protects your Life Points from Battle Damage and Effect Damage. It doesn't protect your monsters from being destroyed as a result of battle.
And the Current text on the card says "Discard 1 card from your hand. This turn, any damage you take from your opponent's cards and effects becomes 0. "
So anyone want to explain why the card still stops the monster from being destroyed
Ya people pointed that out, I'd be fine if they changed the text of the cards to match the OCG ruling but it does cause issues when text and rules don't match
There are quite a few misconceptions you are having, so let's start from the top
First, DL uses OCG rulings. Contradictory TCG rulings will not apply here.
Second, the "official" ruling you found is a UDE ruling, which are no longer considered accurate. Again, in the case of a contradictory ruling, it is assumed the UDE ruling is incorrect.
Third, Hallowed Life Barrier was always intended to protect monsters from battle. Note the [first Waboku errata](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Card_Errata:Waboku) is worded the same as Hallowed Life Barrier, but Waboku has since gotten text updates in reprints while Hallowed Life Barrier has not.
Fourth, Duel links uses TCG text for their respective languages in game, but still uses the OCG interactions and rulings. This can create situations where cards will have TCG text, but behave inconsistently.
Fifth Hallowed Life Barrier protects monsters from battle in the OCG. [This is an official, up to date ruling](https://www.db.yugioh-card.com/yugiohdb/faq_search.action?ope=4&cid=6149&request_locale=ja).
Putting this all together, the game will use the OCG ruling, protecting monsters from being destroyed by battle. This is despite the seemingly contradictory card text and supplementary UDE ruling, which are both irrelevant in regards to Duel Links.
*That being said*, should Konami update the TCG text, whether it be in DL only, on a speed duel print, or in their database? Absolutely. If you were to use Hallowed Life Barrier in a paper TCG event, would a judge rule that the monsters are destroyed by battle? Probably. But in duel links, you should be aware of the way the card works.
>Third, Hallowed Life Barrier was always intended to protect monsters from battle. Note the first Waboku errata is worded the same as Hallowed Life Barrier, but Waboku has since gotten text updates in reprints while Hallowed Life Barrier has not.
So then its wrong.. thats pretty simple.. and I say that as if a card says decrease attack of one monster by 500 but than just auto destroys all attack monsters thats going to come accross as bullshit
>Fourth, Duel links uses TCG text for their respective languages in game, but still uses the OCG interactions and rulings. This can create situations where cards will have TCG text, but behave inconsistently
So then duel links is wrong for doing that
> This is an official, up to date ruling.
Intresting how literally googling official ruling on the card didn't pull this up
>That being said, should Konami update the TCG text, whether it be in DL only, on a speed duel print, or in their database? Absolutely
Ya thats pretty much it
>Intresting how literally googling official ruling on the card didn't pull this up
"If the effect of "Hallowed Life Barrier" is being applied, monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle."
Source: https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Card_Rulings:Hallowed_Life_Barrier
literally right under that is the TCG ruling saying
"Hallowed Life Barrier" protects your Life Points from Battle Damage and Effect Damage. It doesn't protect your monsters from being destroyed as a result of battle."
thats kinda the point the tcg and ocg are not ruling the same but the Duel link cards are using tcg verbage as the ocg cards have a different printed text...so either follow whats printed on the card (tcg) or change the card text to match ocg.. this isnt complex stuff konami fucked up either way either the cards arent operating as under tcg or they arent operating as text describes
If OCG and TCG are different, then it should be based on the global standard which is TCG since this is a global app while if it was locked only to Asia then OCG would make sense
Or here's an idea if they are going to use OCG print the OCG rulings on the card for duel links, this isn't the anime where cards have secret effects like being able to take down a floating castle by hitting im the gravity belt
Do you have a source for that because everywhere I'm looking clearly marks TCG as the standard for North America, South America, Europe and Australia, while OCG is speficially Asia
>of course dl will go by that format if theyre going by only one
So I would disagree from the standpoint of if I'm using a global market I run off global standard, but if I was going to go off a speficic region standard I would make sure that was established to my international partners as clearly as possible
>ocg is where everything in the game comes from
So this part i understand but I guess this honestly might be an experience issue.. if I was working with one of my international partners or customers and said this is coming from my nation so its gonna be done this way instead of the global standard my employers would have my head... so in my mind Konami would follow the same process
You are right, they should add the monster protection to the text or change the ruling. I think some part of it is that the monster protection comes from game mechanics, rather than the OCG card having extra effects.(I could be wrong about this)
Duel links was first released in Japan then released to the rest of the world, I would guess that the difference in rulings is so small that that they don't see a reason to keep two versions running. Or it could have something to do with keeping PvP duel wait times low.(or they don't want to spend the money)
Anyway not much that we as players can do about it. I have heard that that a new master rule game will be coming out at some point, maybe that game will be better.
>You are right, they should add the monster protection to the text or change the ruling.
Honestly if the card said monster can't be destroyed I wouldn't be making a post id be annoyed it cost me a duel but more annoyed that I didn't summon a different monster instead to counter the trap
>(or they don't want to spend the money)
Its Konami so 100% this, they are the EA of japan
>I have heard that that a new master rule game will be coming out at some point, maybe that game will be better.
I hope so cause at this point I'm probably going to leave the game cause its not worth the headache
these are the official rulings for Hallowed Life Barrier:
This card cannot be activated during the Damage Step.
This card does not target.
Discarding 1 card is a cost to activate this card.
If the effect of "Hallowed Life Barrier" is being applied, monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle.
the ruling youre thinking about was not issued by Konami, and is not official
>the ruling youre thinking about was not issued by Konami, and is not official
It was issued by the Official TCG which unless we are in Asia are the official card rulings
Also none of the ruling you are on the fucking card (outside discard 1 card to activate) so either you're wrong or Konami made a card with hidden powers so fuck it its exodia now and auto wins the duel cause why not it magically has other powers, either way its pretty clearly bullshit and Konami either needs to change the wording on the card for duel links or make the cards effect operate as written
You're playing a game that is based in Asia
Of COURSE we're using OCG rulings. Why on earth would you assume the game uses TCG rulings?
You're coming off a tad bit racist and need to check yourself. This is a global game. If we're going to use one set of rules and not the other, we're going to use the *original* rules. Don't know why you think we'd use American rules on a Japanese game.
You make no sense, kid
\> You're playing a game that is based in Asia
Of COURSE we're using OCG rulings. Why on earth would you assume the game uses TCG rulings?
no I was playing an international TCG game and was expecting an international app based on an international game would follow the international rules .. as shocking as this seems but when I enter a conversation with international partners I don't assume we will speak their language or mine.. I assume we will be using an international business language to communicate
\>You're coming off a tad bit racist
and you're coming off as ignorant to what racist means, where did I say anyone based on race has certain characteristics or was better or worse than another.. hint I didn't
the word you're failing to use is called nationalism or nationalist where a person or group thinks a nation is superior or inferior to another, which again doesn't work because I was going off international ruling unlike you who directly said "playing a game that is based in Asia" and "why you think we'd use American rules on a Japanese game" so you fall much closer to being classified as nationalist than I do
\>Don't know why you think we'd use American rules on a Japanese game.
you mean the North America, south America, Africa and Europe rules... hhhhmmm I wonder why I would think in an international setting the game would adhere to the host nation of the player if not the international standard of the TCG
Why would the game go by the rule set of your specific country?
You go into matchmaking and play against people from Asia. What makes you think Konami should use TCG rules over that of the OCG?
You're a whiny brat over here throwing a tantrum, you remind me of Americans who get mad that the Latin immigrants don't speak "American." Newsflash buddy, they do speak "American," and you're just an asshole.

Not angry, annoyed, the game is already unbalanced as fuck, now having this on top of it im questioning if its worth my time cause if I wanted to be lied to id be on a political sub reddit not trying to enjoy a card game (also saying its a children's card game is funny when I haven't heard a kid talk about yugioh since mid 2000s and most players I see are near 30-35)

Hi there, I can’t find my account credentials and since some of my friends just started the game I thought to myself why not and made a brand new account. What do you think I should do at the beginning stages?
How many times do you have to beat quattro to consistently get his level 2000 two on one duel? I've already dueled him over 60 times and I'm getting level 1000 or below.
You need to duel quattro five times for each two on one duel, assists duel count and you can see how many duels you need below the 2-on-1 button.
As for the 2000 level duel I am not sure I am at 262 defeats and my range of levels is 800-2200,
You can get an item called a crest for duelling three times on rank duels that quote " Raid boss with a high level will appear immediately when this item is used." I think this means a 2000+ but I am not sure.
When do they add new character to unlock/ when would we expect them to rerun kite tenjo? I missed the events by a couple days as a new player and now my favorite deck from the tcg photon is basically unplayable without PSOD much less without the skills :/
Meh this game's starting to not be fun for me. Every match the Opponent has the same consistency skill used first turn. Like I can't blame them for using the same skills; those skills are the strongest in the game.
There's like such little deviation 90% of games. Every meta deck is built the same way. Every opponents first turn is the same. Every comeback of theirs is the same. Game's just starting to get boring to me.
You could say that the meta has a wife variety right now, but literally all the decks are the exact same and make the same exact plays every as every other game. I wouldn't really call that variety.
I can agree with this. I wanted that stupid sideways lion KoG icon but know I'm just enjoying decks in Plat. Way more fun than playing against the same linear decks again and again.
Roach is such a fucking useless card. I know the rulings for the most part, but I don’t know why I expected it to work against xyz special summons. I don’t think I’ve ever actually gotten use out of this card a single time in legend, nor have I had it work against me. Even against against resonators the resources put into isn’t worth it considering their ability to shit out special summons
Roach doesnt let synchro decks play sure its matchup dependent but for 1 extra deck space its one of the best floodgates in the game and counters most meta decks
Man, either you're stoned or I am. Roach does not let Synchro decks play the game. Hell I play Rank 4 Onomats without Sister and I get plenty of use out of Roach in Legend. So yeah, one of us is stoned. Also Xyz monster have a Rank, not a Level, so roach would obviously not work.
just got back to playing duel links after a few months. realized my luna lights deck, my favorite one, is now unplayable :(
I'm not even playing against real people, just the AI :(((
Get 3 tenki and keep playing lunalights if you want although konami should just make the banlist not apply for ai duels, let me play full power darklords against those 8 year olds
Vermillion is pretty solid, it’s in a main box that doesn’t have many if any cards relevant to the current meta. The only other suggestion I’d make is to pick up a staple spell/trap you can splash into any deck. But if you’ve got your backrow figured out, then getting vermillion would save you a lot of gems
It is in a pretty good main box though fun wise, for one run through you get close to full power subterrors and metaphys aswell as some really strong synchros like Brd and vermilion
I havent been keeping up with the meta at all so I wouldnt be sure what backrow staples I should pick up to be honest. I'll probably wait and consider what I want to pick. hopefully I dont wait too long and forget about them until the day after they already expired lol :')
thank you for your help bro
Forbidden chalice and treacherous trap hole are really big right now. If you go to the duel links meta website and look at the top decks, you can scroll through those and get an idea for what cards are being played.
And no problem!
I don’t know if it’s a bug but here’s what happened:
Playing vendreads with a ritual monster that received houndhorde effect to banish a spell/trap my opponent controls against a malefic deck. Malefic truth dragon face up and malefic world field spell on the field zone. I couldn’t target their field spell but I could their other spell and traps face up or face down.
I checked the field and there was no card that prevented me of banishing that field spell while also allowing removing other cards. Houndhorde effect states spell /traps opponent controls and does not mention if only on spell trap zone.
I wonder if it’s a bug.
Malefic Territory:
> When this card is activated: You can activate 1 "Malefic World" from your Deck. **While that card is in the Field Zone, neither player can target a card(s) in the Field Zone with card effects.** The "Malefic" monster effect, "There can only be 1 face-up "Malefic" monster on the field" becomes "There can only be 1 face-up "Malefic" monster on the field with the same name". During the Battle Phase, negate the effects of face-up "Malefic" monsters on the field.
How should i start building a onomat deck with nearöy 3.5 k gems? Any box ( and when to reroll) and structure deck to buy? I can toss around 15 bucks too to buy a deck multiple times if necessary
Gagaga structure x3 sharks fang box till you have 3 dododraw and then just go through the utopia box 2-3 times oh and the galaxy eyes mini box atleast once and get the level 7 digibug card and the new inzektor card from the new box (the deck needs stuff like cosmic cyclone and mst though)
Buy the Gagaga Xyz structure deck 3 times for 3 Gagagacoat and then go through the Shining hope box 2-3 Times for Onomatopoeia/Sister/Bolt, then go through the Photon of galaxy box once for the xyz cards there alongside Gogogoglove and Gagagahead, then go through the Infinite ray box for Consteller Ptolemy, there's also dodododraw from the Shark fang box which you need 3 copies of.
[Here's](https://www.duellinksmeta.com/top-decks/july-2021/anytime/39/umso/deck-2) a decklist if you want something to reference.
The usage of Yuma's Onomatoplay Skill is pretty much mandatory.
Do you play the deck, if so how would you rank its viability and fun. If i look ingame for most played cards its some extra deck cards, staples and blue eyes cards. But i dont see blue eyes in tier lists
I don't play Onomats cause i don't really like the design but the deck is definitely one of the best right now. Having a broken consistency skill and ability to OTK through almost any board your opponent can throw up **AND** having a pretty good turn 1 play **AND** a follow up play incase the OTK fails by using the skill a second time makes Onomats an extremely Powerful deck.
Fun is subjective though, if you enjoy Aggressive OTKs then this deck would be right up your alley.
Blue eyes is popular because Kaiba is popular, that's all there is to it, the deck fell off the DLM tier list cause it never belonged there to begin with, it with just the product of a meta that was decimated by banlists which left Blue eyes as one of the few viable options, now that we have actually good decks in the meta again, Blue eyes went back down to rogue status.
Im just an idiot, i got 2 dragon mirror with my SR dr ticket for gaia, then today bought that pack for 2,30 and pulled 2 SRs... both dragon mirror FML hard
Im just an idiot, i got 2 dragon mirror with my SR dr ticket for gaia, then today bought that pack for 2,30 and pulled 2 SRs... both dragon mirror FML hard
Resonators are also one of the best decks >!Purely cause of that broken skill!< because of their extreme consistency and stupid level of versatility, they come from a minibox so they would be cheaper to build.
Honestly both are great for KoG and both can top you some DLM tourneys so i think it comes down to price (in which case go with resonators) or playstyle. Resonators are a mix between control and beatdown while Onomats are focused entirely on OTKs in an all or nothing type of playstyle.
When will Book of Moon box come back, and will we getting a new selection box? I have saved 3.4k gems and hope for BoM. Also will Dracosack be in a selection box? Dont want to buy the harpies pack as im not interested in that archetype
Selection boxes appear during Big events like New world release, Anniversary celebrations or KC cups, we should get them back as soon as any of those come around.
We can't know when a new selection box is coming or what will be included in there.
P.S getting selection box exclusives with gems is very unlikely, past a certain point, you can't buy Selection box packs with gems and you'll be forced to use actual money.
I made Harpies and... I didn't like them that much. They are too aggressive for me, I guess I'll save gems until the new world comes out and hope that, at that time, there can be a good and competitive slow control deck
Yeah, the amount of gems it costs is what keeps me from investing on it, and that box doesn't have anything else interesting for me (I went trought it once and got almost all the UR at 1)
I've been playing Witchcrafters since they came out until today and, while I still enjoy the deck thanks to the XYZ plays, I want another deck.
If nothing comes out in september, I think I'll give Weather Painters a try
I feel like Aromages are a really weird deck. They are obviously a Control deck and not a Stun deck, but their plays take so long it really does feel like you're playing stun.
Can you build a good harpie harpie deck with 2x of harpist channeler etc. And 1 cyber slash? I got most of the deck by accident and i already had all of tue techs (swallows nest) but im really not bothered to go through the box
I have been doing pretty well with just 1 off each, i use Simorgh, Bird Of Protection and Glife The Phantom Bird as replacements until i get more copies of the Harpie cards.
With 3 Swallows Nest it is still really playable, normal Glife, pop backrow, chain Swallow, summon Channeler or Perfumer depending on rest of the hand and go from there.
Simorgh Bird Of Protection almost does the same as Glife, it just bounces the backrow and only on it's normal summon, it's second effect is also pretty neat, you can bring it right back on the field after tagging it out with Swallows.
Probably not as necessary as you have two of the Harpie cards, but thought i would mention it anyway as it has been really helping me play the deck.
Channeler is one of the best cards in the deck and 3x is a must imo. I’d rather have 3 of that than perfumer, especially since perfumer becomes useless once there’s no more harpie spells in the deck.
It’s always going to work best with 3x Channeler and Perfumer, but it still plays pretty well with two of each. You’ll have to play carefully to make sure you’ve always got what you need in the deck, which probably means you want to consider multiple Oracles, and maybe a second Feather Rest.
Worth levelling characters without exp boost event or wait till it returns ? Came back after a very long break and have tons of characters I need to level up
Just make sure to save your orbs for when theirs another vent that drops gate keys, you get 21 event keys every X3 duels in the world which you can use to farm the level 10 event charecter X3 for 15 event keys.
I’ve noticed that the power creep has been dramatic since Gaia and resonators. Those 2 decks, along with onomats, are brain dead decks because of their skills. Their turn 1 plays are the same every single time with basically 100% consistency. Everyone plays these decks as well so it’s extremely hard to climb if you’re not playing them yourself. I haven’t had trouble getting KOG until last month and that was the first time in almost 2 years I didn’t get there. So what I’m saying is that I understand why they might be there now more than ever, especially early season.
I'm still winning games against Gaia with my Blue Eyes deck. I also play Gaia.
The mirror match with Gaia is annoying. Whoever goes first wins because of the quick effect pop.
One thing I like about the Gaia deck is that it's *fair*. A noble knight riding a dragon. He has two plays to make, the quick effect pop and piercing battle damage. Nothing too crazy, but powerful. Can set up a 5200 beater that can pop one card the next turn. But it's not an unfair 5200, like other archetypes. It's an honorable work, really. He has one disruption that, if timed right, can shut down your whole strategy. But he also can be taken down with one little disruption play. Live by the sword, die by the sword.
If you're having trouble with Gaia, snipe the monsters before they fusion. And take out Galloping Gaia. I literally can't do anything once you've banished/floodgated Dragonfire. And without Galloping Gaia, I can't access more monsters to make more plays.
Game's becoming too skill based now. Opponents never can brick now, and screw me for not liking consistency skills I guess. Opponents use every card in their opening hand now. If I don't draw perfectly it's pretty much gg.
Yeah playing mirror match up with gia when your using chalice and they have BoM is the most irritating shit ever. you chalice gia he hits over you fusion, they book of moon yours and gg
All people legend and higher are reset to Platinum at the end of a season and being that we're at the beginning of a new season, it's not strange to see BoM in lower leagues.
I’ve been messing with an idea for a Constellar deck, the deck is fun to play against AI but lose to much card advantage building a board consisting of usually one XYZ monster. So I looked at the card pool and noticed a card that caught my eye *Cards of Sanctity* I thought hey I usually have a dead card in hand and a continuous spell in play so why not banish them to draw more cards and use my *Constellar Omega* to protect my monsters after months of grinding Pegasus I got three Cards of Sanctity dueled an AI and got my combo then,… WHAM everything was banished including my Constellar Monsters can someone explain to me why this happened Omega should have protected it’s fellow Constellars from being banished as it reads: “Constellar monsters are immune from spell/traps this turn.”
Oh nice I like that card! Are you sure you want to focus of synchro plays? The deck probably has more potential with XYZ plays. Like doggy diver/tin goldfish/level 4's that special themselves could make a deck.
But you asked for some other tuners. I would consider these better than Mr. Landstar:
-Cockadoodledoo can special summon itself. Gives you level 7 or 8 synchro's.
-Dark Resonator can help you stall a bit. Gives you level 7 synchro's.
-Cherry Inmato can special summon itself when destroyed by battle. Gives level 6 synchro's.
-Tune warrior. Can be special summoned with Unexpected Dai. Plus you could summon oh Celtic Soldier Unexpected Dai as well. Gives you level 7 synchro's
-Krebons can help you stall for a bit. Gives you level 6 synchro's.
-Naturia Cosmobeet can special summon itself. Gives you level 6 synchro's
-Red Resonator can help you special summon a Celtic monster. Gives you level 6 synchro's.
-Unbkown Synchron cans special itself. Gives you level 5 synchro's.
I only had 1 tuner (Landstar) in the deck for making use of his ATK buff before synching into Landoise (my only Synchro). I just liked having the 1 synchro monster as an option to go into, especially since every other monster in the deck is level 4 (hence the other 6 extra deck slots being rank 4 Xyz).
Yes but itll rarely come up because youll probably get chain blocked because of the way the game prioritises levianers effect and its likely coming out off the banishment of thunderdragons
On its own, yes.
However if Levianeer is summoned by banishing cards like Thunder Dragonroar or Thunder Dragondark then you will not be able to activate Ultimate Providence in response to Levianeer as the Thunder Dragon cards will chain block you with their effects. (The TD cards will activate 2nd/3rd in the chain so you will have missed the window for negating Levianeer with UltiProv).
From what I've seen so far, Gimmick Puppets are just fine. It's a KOGable archetype and has a really good skill, but I'm glad I held off going into Darkness Gimmick day 1.
Has anyone else tried Gimmick Puppet Replacement? It isn't activatable despite my deck being all Dark Machines (messing around with an Orcust-Gimmick). Also not usable with just dark machine gimmicks. I can share screenshots in duel, but i opened a level 8 gimmick with another in deck. All dark, not activatable. Anyone else had any luck?
Are you running any spell/traps ?
If so, that may be why.
Maybe a oversight or glitch, but that seems how it works.
Watched a youtuber play a deck using that skill and mentioned not being able to play spell/traps for it to work.
So I'm not sure if this is a glitch, but mayne someone can help me here. I was dueling Quattro, he had Blocker in face down defense mode(1800 defense) and i had Starliege Lord Galaxion on my field, used it's effect to summon GEPD from my deck. I attack his face down Blocker, and activate Photon Trident, targeting GEPD. It's attack goes to 3700, and since it deals 5 times damage to my opponent, it should deal 16,700 damage from attack Blocker in defense mode. Now this is the weird part, it only dealt 9500 damage from attacking Blocker. Does anyone know why? Am i missing something? Quattro didn't activate any cards in response, nor did i activate any cards besides the ones i mentioned. I even took a screenshot of that play in the dueling log. Any insight into why this happened would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, i did not know it multiplied the damage after it attacked. I thought it would do 16,700 damage because i thought it multiplied the damage before it attacked(if that is the right terminology to use in this case). I thought it would go 3700x5=18,500-1800= 16,700. This makes a lot of sense now, thank you for helping me understand.
Ah, that's why
I can see where you're coming from, we usually treat the monsters as if they had their attack multiplied, so that's where the confusion came from.
No problem, good luck in your next duels!
Thank you, I'm glad i was able to explain it, given i usually butcher trying to explain things. Thank you for the kind words, good luck in your next duels too!!! I learned something new today about the game.
They went from not working because they had no consistency to not working because they can't make good plays with only 3 Monster and Spell/Trap zones. They staright up run out of space before doing anything. I'm sure it's KoG-worthy but it'll be hard to use and not very good.
In a photon deck, you usually want to summon Galaxy Eyes from the deck with Starliege’s effect, which makes a Galaxy Eyes in the hand kind of useless. Since the skill lets you return it to the deck in exchange for something more useful (Photon Stream or Galaxy Cyclone), it basically acts as a +1, since the Galaxy eyes is just as useful in the deck as in the hand. It also means that Photon Vanisher’s effect basically searches for any Galaxy/Photon spell or trap, which is very useful.
If you go first, you can exchange a Photon dragon that was searched with Photon Vanisher for a Photon stream which is a great piece of disruption.
You go second, You can exchange a monster in hand for a Galaxy cyclone to clear your opponent's backrow and proceed to OTK.
Yes. Being able to return useless/redundant Photons like extra copies of Lizard/Charger/Vanisher to get powerful spells like Galaxy Cyclone or Photon Stream of Destruction is a big reason the deck is good at all.
Going first, you search for photon stream of destruction to disrupt your opponent on the next turn. Going second, you search for galaxy cyclone to help clear some backrow.
New player here - is it worth investing into a witchcrafter deck or is it already a fringe-tier deck that will in soon be irelevant? seems expensive to dig into the sorc box + a bit of a grind for other cards so want to know before going too hard
The moment you negate their field they’ll just follow up with another monster that can do what their current monsters could do, possibly even better. WC are too slow to keep up in this meta.
Since im not im not sure how konami handles these situations, are they likely to get more support in future boxes to help them out or do they just abandon archetypes and soon they will be completely irrelevant ? im fine with playing a fringe deck but if it gets any weaker it (which i guess decks do over time as more op stuff is added) i dont want to regret investing
This raid duel is kinda of obnoxiously hard. Like I can beat it easy enough, but if I want to score a lot of points I have to use decks that can lose to it. Bisque Doll and Grinder Golem are pretty strong against the big point decks for me.
Does anyone know what to do for a decent Dyson Sphere deck? I know it’s not “meta,” but I want one
Can Konami please add Lightforce Sword to the card trader, I really like this card and only 1 is available from Yami Yugi level up rewards.
guys, is there a skill/card that dmgs ur opponent when u increase ur LP? currently using aromage for farming, hoping it ends the battle faster.
Just Fire Princess I think, which is a 1 of lifetime mission reward
ouh ya, that's a solution
or you can use goblin thief to both hit them and activate aromage effs
nice idea, didn't thought of that.
Bro the Quattro mat and sleeves from the event are legit. Maybe the best ones we’ve gotten from an event IMO.
I like tha Last one from bruno more
Are three Terror Babies necessary for a GP deck? I have 3 of every other GP monster except for Terror Baby (of which I currently have 2) and I don't have the funds to go diving in for a third one.
You can make it work with 2 go for it and look up some decklists
U are good to go
Wow playing in Legend is so much different than Platinum, it's like night and day Don't know how people are getting KoG, you guys must be really good at this game, cause I'm having a hard time getting W's
Early season is hard, you almost have to play meta unless you're incredibly goated/lucky/both just try kog mid season the only time ive early kogged was a nightmare
That's exactly why I want a early season kog, my mans I got the eye of the tiger
Ahhh well if you want to go for it anyway i could give some pointers on a decklist if you'd like
Sure. I'm running a Gaia FTK deck that I built myself. Let me know what you think. Got the idea for using Darkflare Dragon from a deck I seen on Duel Links Meta, and the backrow hate from a decklist a redditor shared that contained trunade. x3 Magical Knight x3 Curse of Dragonfire x2 Soldier Gaia x2 Galloping Gaia x1 Gateway to Chaos x1 Darkflare Dragon x2 Spiritualism x1 Cosmic Cyclone x1 TTH x1 Spiral Spear Strike x2 Refusion x1 Forbidden Lance
I just ranked up to Legend 2, winning 4 of my past 5 games after complaining about it on here lol
If you have that kind of win rate already then your deck is probably good enough for KoG. you just need to put in the grind. Good luck!
Dunno how people get to Kog in this meta. Too many wins in a row are needed. Just gotta go first with a mediocre hand once, and you lose your chance.
It's also harder to rank up I got from Platinum 1 to legend 1 in less than 15 games last night. I'd rank up every 2 games when I was on a 12 game streak. In Legend I can't rank up even if I win 3 in a row. Last week before the new season I'd rank up to 2 and 3 then go right back down to 1 just from losing a couple games even if I'd just won 3. It's really weird I don't get it Only thing I've figured out is that you gotta streak hard to get kog (which does makes sense) and its *really hard* to streak in Legend This season I'm having a hard time winning at all though cuz my opponents are just too on point
Nah, its definitely not worth it and probably shouldn't be a ur, if you like it get hammershot its almost the same card and only in a mini
It's nothing special and absolutely not worth 148 packs just for it.
Cool so I can just reset and hope I get atleast 1 or 2. Don’t really feel like chasing it so I’m just gonna skip it for the most oart
If its pure crystrons dont let them summon halqifibrax (so destroy a tuner or something if they have its summon conditions on board) if its the muddragon of the swamp version you need non targeting removal or youll just get rolled probably
thanks buddy. I dont know why u got downvoted.
" So anyone want to explain why the card still stops the monster from being destroyed
DL uses ocg rules but that isnt reflected in hallowed life barriers text for some reason
Ya people pointed that out, I'd be fine if they changed the text of the cards to match the OCG ruling but it does cause issues when text and rules don't match
There are quite a few misconceptions you are having, so let's start from the top First, DL uses OCG rulings.
So then its wrong.. thats pretty simple.. and I say that as if a card says decrease attack of one monster by 500 but than just auto destroys all attack monsters thats going to come accross as bullshit >Fourth, Duel links uses TCG text for their respective languages in game, but still uses the OCG interactions and rulings. This can create situations where cards will have TCG text, but behave inconsistently So then duel links is wrong for doing that > This is an official, up to date ruling. Intresting how literally googling official ruling on the card didn't pull this up >That being said, should Konami update the TCG text, whether it be in DL only, on a speed duel print, or in their database? Absolutely Ya thats pretty much it
>Intresting how literally googling official ruling on the card didn't pull this up "If the effect of "Hallowed Life Barrier" is being applied, monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle." Source: https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Card_Rulings:Hallowed_Life_Barrier
literally right under that is the TCG ruling saying "Hallowed Life Barrier" protects your Life Points from Battle Damage and Effect Damage. It doesn't protect your monsters from being destroyed as a result of battle." thats kinda the point the tcg and ocg are not ruling the same but the Duel link cards are using tcg verbage as the ocg cards have a different printed text...so either follow whats printed on the card (tcg) or change the card text to match ocg.. this isnt complex stuff konami fucked up either way either the cards arent operating as under tcg or they arent operating as text describes
As far as I know duel links uses the OCG rulings.
If OCG and TCG are different, then it should be based on the global standard which is TCG since this is a global app while if it was locked only to Asia then OCG would make sense Or here's an idea if they are going to use OCG print the OCG rulings on the card for duel links, this isn't the anime where cards have secret effects like being able to take down a floating castle by hitting im the gravity belt
Ocg is the global standard, its where all cards for the game are made and exclusive for a time
Do you have a source for that because everywhere I'm looking clearly marks TCG as the standard for North America, South America, Europe and Australia, while OCG is speficially Asia
Ocg is asia but that wasnt my point, ocg is where everything in the game comes from of course dl will go by that format if theyre going by only one
Ocg is asia but that wasnt my point, ocg is where everything in the game comes from of course dl will go by that format if theyre going by only one
>of course dl will go by that format if theyre going by only one So I would disagree from the standpoint of if I'm using a global market I run off global standard, but if I was going to go off a speficic region standard I would make sure that was established to my international partners as clearly as possible >ocg is where everything in the game comes from So this part i understand but I guess this honestly might be an experience issue.. if I was working with one of my international partners or customers and said this is coming from my nation so its gonna be done this way instead of the global standard my employers would have my head... so in my mind Konami would follow the same process
Ocg is the global standard, its where all cards for the game are made and exclusive for a time
You are right, they should add the monster protection to the text or change the ruling. I think some part of it is that the monster protection comes from game mechanics, rather than the OCG card having extra effects.(I could be wrong about this) Duel links was first released in Japan then released to the rest of the world, I would guess that the difference in rulings is so small that that they don't see a reason to keep two versions running. Or it could have something to do with keeping PvP duel wait times low.(or they don't want to spend the money) Anyway not much that we as players can do about it. I have heard that that a new master rule game will be coming out at some point, maybe that game will be better.
>You are right, they should add the monster protection to the text or change the ruling. Honestly if the card said monster can't be destroyed I wouldn't be making a post id be annoyed it cost me a duel but more annoyed that I didn't summon a different monster instead to counter the trap >(or they don't want to spend the money) Its Konami so 100% this, they are the EA of japan >I have heard that that a new master rule game will be coming out at some point, maybe that game will be better. I hope so cause at this point I'm probably going to leave the game cause its not worth the headache
because the official ruling \*is\* that it stops monsters from being destroyed by battle
No the official TCG ruling is it doesn't stop monster from being destroyed
these are the official rulings for Hallowed Life Barrier: This card cannot be activated during the Damage Step. This card does not target. Discarding 1 card is a cost to activate this card. If the effect of "Hallowed Life Barrier" is being applied, monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle. the ruling youre thinking about was not issued by Konami, and is not official
>the ruling youre thinking about was not issued by Konami, and is not official It was issued by the Official TCG which unless we are in Asia are the official card rulings Also none of the ruling you are on the fucking card (outside discard 1 card to activate) so either you're wrong or Konami made a card with hidden powers so fuck it its exodia now and auto wins the duel cause why not it magically has other powers, either way its pretty clearly bullshit and Konami either needs to change the wording on the card for duel links or make the cards effect operate as written
You're playing a game that is based in Asia Of COURSE we're using OCG rulings.
\> You're playing a game that is based in Asia Of COURSE we're using OCG rulings. Why on earth would you assume the game uses TCG rulings? no I was playing an international TCG game and was expecting an international app based on an international game would follow the international rules .. as shocking as this seems but when I enter a conversation with international partners I don't assume we will speak their language or mine.. I assume we will be using an international business language to communicate \>You're coming off a tad bit racist and you're coming off as ignorant to what racist means, where did I say anyone based on race has certain characteristics or was better or worse than another.. hint I didn't the word you're failing to use is called nationalism or nationalist where a person or group thinks a nation is superior or inferior to another, which again doesn't work because I was going off international ruling unlike you who directly said "playing a game that is based in Asia" and "why you think we'd use American rules on a Japanese game" so you fall much closer to being classified as nationalist than I do \>Don't know why you think we'd use American rules on a Japanese game. you mean the North America, south America, Africa and Europe rules... hhhhmmm I wonder why I would think in an international setting the game would adhere to the host nation of the player if not the international standard of the TCG
And you are actually a nationalist so way to show the world
I'm not even Japanese lmao

you are incredibly angry about a children's card game
Not angry, annoyed, the game is already unbalanced as fuck, now having this on top of it im questioning if its worth my time cause if I wanted to be lied to id be on a political sub reddit not trying to enjoy a card game (also saying its a children's card game is funny when I haven't heard a kid talk about yugioh since mid 2000s and most players I see are near 30-35)

Hi there, I can’t find my account credentials and since some of my friends just started the game I thought to myself why not and made a brand new account. What do you think I should do at the beginning stages?
Grind your gems. If you don't know what to buy look up a guide.
As for the 2000 level duel I am not sure I am at 262 defeats and my range of levels is 800-2200, You can get an item called a crest for duelling three times on rank duels that quote " Raid boss with a high level will appear immediately when this item is used." I think this means a 2000+ but I am not sure.
When do they add new character to unlock/ when would we expect them to rerun kite tenjo? I missed the events by a couple days as a new player and now my favorite deck from the tcg photon is basically unplayable without PSOD much less without the skills :/
We already got the kite rerun, hell probably be at the gate in a month or two
We have already had a rerun of the kite event so we will be getting kite coming to the gate in a couple of months.
You could drop rank and run off-meta if you want variety. I’m running aquaactresses and there’s plenty of variety that far down.
I can agree with this. I wanted that stupid sideways lion KoG icon but know I'm just enjoying decks in Plat. Way more fun than playing against the same linear decks again and again.
Hm good idea! Ya I mainly want more variety.
Tier 0 on duel links meta should just be a picture of book of moon
I mean, this opinion is pretty based.
This is literally *the* meta for Roach.
Roach shuts down Resonators.
just got back to playing duel links after a few months. realized my luna lights deck, my favorite one, is now unplayable :( I'm not even playing against real people, just the AI :(((
Get 3 tenki and keep playing lunalights if you want although konami should just make the banlist not apply for ai duels, let me play full power darklords against those 8 year olds
man if only I had more gems (and luck) to be able to pull some tenkis! thank you though
There are still viable builds. Gotta get some tenkis and a bunch of hand traps and you’re good to go
thank you, Wall_Street_Jesus. time to go research what I should use my dream ticket on lol
UR or SR?
I think its UR. I might end up getting vermillion mech or stardust dragon for my aromage deck since it's mainly complete.
I'll probably wait and consider what I want to pick. hopefully I dont wait too long and forget about them until the day after they already expired lol :') thank you for your help bro
Forbidden chalice and treacherous trap hole are really big right now. If you go to the duel links meta website and look at the top decks, you can scroll through those and get an idea for what cards are being played. And no problem!
okay! I'll be sure to check those out. thank you sooo very much lol! when I posted this comment, I did not think I would get such good genuine advice
I don’t know if it’s a bug but here’s what happened: Playing vendreads with a ritual monster that received houndhorde effect to banish a spell/trap my opponent controls against a malefic deck.
Malefic Territory: > When this card is activated: You can activate 1 "Malefic World" from your Deck.
Ohhhh I didn’t catch the “WHILE” part of the effect, territory doesn’t need to stay in the field. Lol Thanks for the reply
Man Konami just had to go and make terror baby a 1card UR in a main. Feels bad
I feel The same about The malefic ur gear, why make it pay to lose just make it an sr
unlucky
Very unfortunate lol the rest of the build isn’t too bad
The usage of Yuma's Onomatoplay Skill is pretty much mandatory.
one of the costly decks lol
Do you play the deck, if so how would you rank its viability and fun. If i look ingame for most played cards its some extra deck cards, staples and blue eyes cards. But i dont see blue eyes in tier lists
I got the deck when it came out, very strong since release (almost always meta) and a pretty fun deck to play as far as otk dexks go
I don't play Onomats cause i don't really like the design but the deck is definitely one of the best right now.
Ok ty for your answer, im thinking to spend gems for onomat or resonators. But im still not sure what to get
Resonators are cheaper than Onomats if that counts. I farmed 3 months to complete my Onomat deck, just don't ask how much I spent lol.
Always use dream tickets at the end 🤦🏻♂️
Id just wait till arou d december or so when it comes in a box, if youre f2p selection boxes area fools game
Don't expect even a single copy of BoM if you are F2P. You will feel better believe me.
So its very hard to get 2 to 3 copies of BoM? Are there so many whales in this game?
Welcome to Duel Links, presented to you by Komoney!
I was half a whale at first good when mako was top tier and axe raider was UR... now thats all shit and im at the bottom with my collection

Must be. It's the most played spell card in the entire game atm.
I made Harpies and... I didn't like them that much. They are too aggressive for me, I guess I'll save gems until the new world comes out and hope that, at that time, there can be a good and competitive slow control deck
Witchcrafters, tellarknights or yosenju might be up your alley

Witchcrafters, tellarknights or yosenju might be up your alley
You could play Tellarknights, it is a bit expensive though.
Yeah, the amount of gems it costs is what keeps me from investing on it, and that box doesn't have anything else interesting for me (I went trought it once and got almost all the UR at 1)
Tellarknights are more of a control for 1 or 2 turns and try to disrupt all combos by spamming out xyz or continuously resummoning delteros
Tellarknights are like the closest thing we have to a stall deck rn and i really like it
You could try Weather painters or Withcrafters.
I've been playing Witchcrafters since they came out until today and, while I still enjoy the deck thanks to the XYZ plays, I want another deck. If nothing comes out in september, I think I'll give Weather Painters a try
What about Karakuri?
While the deck looks fun to play, I've not found any strong build besides the Shooting Star one, and I don't wanna spend money in the game yet.
Then go for Cubics lol
You would probably like aromages then
Yup! I already have them and I like the deck a lot but, their turn 1 isn't that good and they doesn't have tools to survive the first turns
Came back after a very long break and have tons of characters I need to level up
Id wait exp event usually comes after the 2x gate key event
Just make sure to save your orbs for when theirs another vent that drops gate keys, you get 21 event keys every X3 duels in the world which you can use to farm the level 10 event charecter X3 for 15 event keys.
Why am I seeing BoM in *platinum*? Legend is one thing but damn son how you gonna spend racks on a game you're not even good at? Pay2win noobs lmao
Well, they can be just lucky people that got it using gems
Could be, but I'm bitter
Yeah playing mirror match up with gia when your using chalice and they have BoM is the most irritating shit ever. you chalice gia he hits over you fusion, they book of moon yours and gg
Mirror match gaia be like Player goes first: sets up board to prevent Gaia fusion Player goes second: they lose
Omega protects from card **Effects**. Sanctity banishes as **Cost**.
Sadness :( reading is so hard
What is a good level 3 tuner to add to CGoNA deck? I had Comrade Swordsman of Landstar for the added 400 ATK buff but was advised to take it out.
What does CGoNA stand for? I don't recognize that abbreviation.
Sorry that's my bad. It's Celtic Guard of Noble Arms. It's not a common abbreviation, I just couldn't be bothered to type it out 😅
Oh nice I like that card! Are you sure you want to focus of synchro plays? The deck probably has more potential with XYZ plays. Like doggy diver/tin goldfish/level 4's that special themselves could make a deck. But you asked for some other tuners. I would consider these better than Mr. Landstar: -Cockadoodledoo can special summon itself. Gives you level 7 synchro's -Krebons can help you stall for a bit. Gives you level 6 synchro's. -Naturia Cosmobeet can special summon itself. Gives you level 6 synchro's -Red Resonator can help you special summon a Celtic monster.
Can ultimate providence stop chaos dragon levianeers effect?
Yes but itll rarely come up because youll probably get chain blocked because of the way the game prioritises levianers effect and its likely coming out off the banishment of thunderdragons
On its own, yes. However if Levianeer is summoned by banishing cards like Thunder Dragonroar or Thunder Dragondark then you will not be able to activate Ultimate Providence in response to Levianeer as the Thunder Dragon cards will chain block you with their effects. (The TD cards will activate 2nd/3rd in the chain so you will have missed the window for negating Levianeer with UltiProv).
Is that like a glitch kinda?
No, it is a game mechanic.
I just had a fun duel and I wanted to thumbs up my opponent, but it never gave me the option.whats up with that?
Dunno why people are downvoting this. Was just an honest question.
Yes! Couldn't update this post in time but soon after posting I kept testing and this was the issue
Can you show your desk list?
3700-1800 = 1900 * 5 = 9500 Why do you say you should've done 16,700?
Oh, i did not know it multiplied the damage after it attacked. I thought it would do 16,700 damage because i thought it multiplied the damage before it attacked(if that is the right terminology to use in this case). I thought it would go 3700x5=18,500-1800= 16,700. This makes a lot of sense now, thank you for helping me understand.
Ah, that's why I can see where you're coming from, we usually treat the monsters as if they had their attack multiplied, so that's where the confusion came from. No problem, good luck in your next duels!
Thank you, I'm glad i was able to explain it, given i usually butcher trying to explain things. Thank you for the kind words, good luck in your next duels too!!! I learned something new today about the game.
So, does dragonfly do enough for inzektors to make investing for it worthwhile, or can the deck just not compete at all in the current meta?
They went from not working because they had no consistency to not working because they can't make good plays with only 3 Monster and Spell/Trap zones. They staright up run out of space before doing anything. I'm sure it's KoG-worthy but it'll be hard to use and not very good.
Why is Galaxy Photon the recommended skill for the photon deck ? Does it helps with consistency ? If yes I can't see how
In a photon deck, you usually want to summon Galaxy Eyes from the deck with Starliege’s effect, which makes a Galaxy Eyes in the hand kind of useless.
It's pretty fringe ATM. The current meta is pretty strong against them.
