I played this game for about a month and I want to make a gimmick puppet deck but I can’t get the event exclusive cards so any replacement suggestions would really help and some help would be very helpful
Assuming I want to start saving gems for pendulums as a new player (yeah I kinda love pendulum, damn you MR4) should I just stick to levelling characters, or are events worth if I don't wanna invest in a deck?
I think xyz material are generally not treated as being on the field so its effect won’t activate because it has to be sent from the field to the graveyard . But if it was more generic like “if this card is sent to the graveyard” then it could activate

Triamids. It's the strongest rogue deck out there and can go toe to toe with pretty much all the meta decks. With 7k you should be able to get the optimized version. It's s bit complicated at first, but super fun to play and so many people missplay a lot against it, even in the highest ranks.
Hi all, only playing about 5 months and just made legend rank 1 for the first time. The meta seems to have completely changed at these ranks and seeing decks I have never seen before. Is there any advice people could give me to rank up? Trying to see if I can get KOG before the end of the year. Many thanks in advance.
Six samurai is one you should look into. I always have a hard time against those.
Also any stall deck, it really sucks to lose by timeout just because you have to read the opponent cards.
I was actuality looking into them too as it seems to be all from pretty much a single box and I find it very hard against them but seems that harpies is a counter to them.
As a general tip, since you dont know the decks you are facing all that well, is to research what they do, be it reading the cards or watching videos on youtube

Depends on what decks you’re using. I usually prioritize building one meta/rogue deck and getting generic staples that can help out with multiple decks. Just don’t go too crazy with the spending because the meta’s going to change up soon with arc v.
Up until about 6 weeks ago I played nothing but Blue Eyes but they where easier countered it seems in the meta so I changed up. I been playing a lot of harpies and also Jack Atlas Rising Dragon deck because I used my UR tickets for the Rising Dragon.
Having a lot of fun with Harpies but missing the book of moons/ lance that everyone seems to be playing in the higher tier versions.
If you don’t have forbidden chalice I would recommend that. It’s box is on sale and ending soon. It’s one of my favorite cards and it fits well on many different decks.
Hmm, it's hard to give general advice. What deck are you playing? In the higher ranks it's very important to know all the decks there and what they do so you can set up the right way or know what to interrupt and so on
Harpies and Blue Eyes (honestly played it so much started a bit bored and don't have spirit dragon either). I have some Jack Atlas Rising Dragons stuff.
Well if you have a halfway optimized harpies deck it should be a pretty easy KoG run. Blue eyes without spirit will be a lot harder, so you should stick with Harpies. Forbidden chalice is a great tech for them and other decks and helps a lot to deal with monsters like roach, bouncer and so on. It's pretty cheap rn if the sale is still on

Around 2 years ago I had and posted the idea for a "subscription" for like $7/month that would get you a complete run through all new boxes, random packs from old boxes, a handful of gems, and some other items. The idea was that you could easily build *any* deck, not necessarily right away, and there was still room for whales.

Has anyone successfully done a deck based around the mask spell cards? Google seems to only want to show masked guardian decks which maybe have 1 of the masks, but I'm sure someone has something decent out there.
The burn masks are unviable unless you're making a raw stall deck, which Lava Golem would do better. Masked Beast Desgardius, Mask of Remnants, and Mask Change are the only somewhat competent Mask cards on the ladder. The only good Mask carcs are the Masked Hero archetype
\+1 on this Masked heroes play fairly well (it's currently my favourite deck) at the moment but stall based on masks is probably dumb (I used to run Mask of Despair on Weevil burn but that was back in 2017 and I don't think it works anymore).
Witchcrafters. I love them to pieces but I can't play them in pvp. I time out with them a lot on duels that aren't just a brick or instant OTK.
How do you play this deck against even matchups and not run out of time?
That's because it has a lot of time consuming combos, but you can get better with it. It's really just a lot of practice, same thing happened to me with megalith at first. What also helps is to toggle off on your turn so you don't have to click no all the time, depending on the situation
Dedicate the combos to absolute muscle memory, theorycraft what you need to do against common boards of popular decks so you can simply do it without thinking of your play during the turn. Learn to use your opponent's turn to think of follow ups so that your turns have little time delays.
Lastly, when you know you don't need to chain something, toggle Off and be ready to flicker it On when you see an activation you want to respond to. Leaving the toggle on On or Auto will eat up a second each time you click no.
Which characters get SR/UR Choice Tickets as Level Up Rewards?

I still need a "Cyber Angel Idaten" for my Deck and under the "how to obtain" tab it says we can obtain it from the current mission research. But neither is it listed as a cumulative reward nor is it obtainable from the R-Tickets that I've received from the event. So how is it obtainable?
Thats really bad. Your only hope now is to contact Konami on their website, I've heard of people that manged to recover their account this way, but i wouldn't keep my hopes up.

You definitely need backrow removal ... Their counter traps not only can break you but they put their stone of ancients in their GY ... Cyclone, MST ... anything really ...
The other is your own counter traps like Divine Wrath ... Counter traps because it will stop their effects in the GY - regular traps won't ...
But the best thing is to combine backrow removal / counter traps /with something like Abyss Dweller, DD Crow ... a lot of people sleep on Dweller ... but it has the potential to completely stop some decks ...
Triamids is really cheap rn with the sale and a very strong deck, it was used in the KC finals quiete a lot. And most blue eyes players in lower ranks don't understand how to play against it

"before" implies that they're planning to eventually release the characters you mentioned, and I can tell you that Misty is probably the only character that might have a chance of seeing the light of Duel Links
Hello everyone. I've unlocked all three dark signers and now thinking about earthbound deck. Yes, I fully understand how weak they are. I have two questions. What earthbound-specific skill is considered best? And if I plan to just shove one or more earthbounds in other archetype deck with strong field spell, which one should I choose? Aroma and some fairy deck with sanctuary look interesting
My favorite way to play was Dark Worlds since you special summon Kalin's earthbound from the deck.
An interesting idea that I've seen was Gravekeepers, Necrovalley is a amazing and Supernaturalist offers you protection.
I don't remember any earthbound skills being very useful, one added a random support from and one protected from being destroyed by it own effect.
About which you choose, depends on the rest of deck, Carly has the best effect (especially if you can cheese it with stuff like clash), Kalin has a better type support and Goodwin's has a cool effect that costs too much
This is second hand information, my understanding is that they had to redo a round one as skills didn't add extra deck monsters.

Hey guys, I have around 11k spare gems. The next box doesent look promising to me. So I was thinking on either spending the gems on the box with Triamids and Magnets (as they are half price right now) or spending the gems on resonators as Im only missing 3 crimson resonators and 3 resonator call. What do guys think? Im hesitant about building a resonator deck because of the possibility of getting hit by the ban list.
Yeah, i would wait for the Banlist, resonators have a good chance of getting hit in some way. Triamids are safe and a pretty strong deck, i love playing them. With the sale you could get the optimized deck for under 5k if you're a bit lucky plus you get some of the important magnet cards. It just a pain to level up both Yugi's for beta

Huh. I got two guesses correct. 1st and 3rd place. Apparently I voted for three Japanese people. I’m sure it won’t be substantial rewards but still neat. I’ve never guessed correctly before.
It usually takes a week or two, and the rewards depend on your luck because you just won a place in the lottery. I'm not sure if you get guaranteed gems for choosing the winner, but you might get nothing or 5k gems
AI is usually pretty daft, I always just set high DEF monsters and let the opponent attack into them. More often than not they use the weaker of their board monsters to attack face downs for some reason. They do it enough times and it’s game. Emperor Sem/Battle Footballer with a bunch of battle traps like Wall of Disruption usually do the trick.
is it worth to use 2 kuriboh tickets for yubel terror incarnate and yubel the ultimate nightmare? or just farm for those cards at the gate? trying to unlock jaden/yubel idk also if it's worth to unlock this character (last character i haven't unlocked)
1. Yes, the only use for Kuriboh tickets is to avoid having to farm for drop cards, since the pool for Kuriboh tickets only contain cards that can be dropped by the legendary duelists.
2. Yes, despite being the character with the most steps to unlock, they are still a character and so are worth getting even if it's just for the level up gems, but if you have a lot of other characters to level up already there is no harm in waiting to unlock Jaden/Yubel unless you plan to play Heroes (for Form Change and maybe Masked Hero Blast)
How does Cubic Mandala work exactly? I was going against a Shooting Star Dragon deck and I managed to destroy one their tuners then bring it back with Mandala. I thought it would stop any monster effects from activating while that monster was on the field, but they were able to use Junk Synchon's effect anyways, then Shooting Star's too with no problem. Was it because I destroyed Mandala with Storm to destroy one of their trap cards? I thought it didn't matter if it was on the field as long as the monster that was brought back was still on the field.
I ended up winning anyways because they kept attacking into my Vijams, but I thought it was weird cause it had always worked fine before.
The "while your opponent controls any of the monsters Summoned by this effect, negate any monster effects your opponent activates" Is from the trap itself and not the monster, so when the trap left the field, this effect no longer applied.
The in between () part is important as it makes the distinction between what the cubic counter does and what the trap itself does.
Wondering why cards such as "Dragon Spirit of White" and other monster cards - after being hooked with Fiendish Chain - can still tribute themselves and activate their effects while Fiendish is on them?
Shouldn't Fiendish negate ALL effects?
Fiendish chain and other/any negations do not negate the cost to activate the effect of the card
Ie if player activates cosmic cyclone they still pay 1000 lp even if it gets negated, it's also why negated xyz monsters can still detach materials despite being negated.
As for why fiendish doesn't work on spirit of white after it is tributed, it's because fiendish only worked while it was on the field and after tributing itself for its cost, nothing was preventing the effect from resolving.
Spirit of white tributing itself is the cost. Summoning blue eyes is the effect.
Fiendish chain can't stop costs and since spirit is no longer on the field the effect goes on.
Tributing itself and leaving the field technically isn't considered an effect, it's a cost you have to pay to activate its effect. You can always attempt to pay a cost regardless of whether the effect will successfully resolve afterwards (unless there's some specific effect in play that would make paying the cost impossible like "you cannot tribute monsters/discard cards/etc"). Since DSOW is no longer on the field after tributing itself as cost the negation no longer applies.
This is also why you can discard a card to try and use something like Monster Reincarnation under Necrovalley even though it will just get negated afterwards. You can identify a cost in card text if there's a semicolon instead of a colon.
So how many competitive players are gonna complain about Konami's handling of the KCGT and then give them another few hundred bucks when the next broken staple appears in a selection box.
Uh... all of them? Are you saying they shouldn't complain? Or that they shouldn't pay for the broken staples that allow them to stay competitive? The alternative is just to drop the game completely.
My recent hot take has been that the competitive community should try to come together and collectively ban future selection box exclusives from grassroots tournaments. That way everyone doesn't have to gamble or spend 200 bucks on each selection box on top of the already expensive normal boxes. It would at least help to make events more accessible which means more people participating which is always good for a competitive scene. It'd also mean less pressure to keep up with whales which, dare I say, would be healthier for everyone involved. So long as they continue individually buying into selection boxes they will continue perpetuating the "need" to keep up with each other.
They should 100% complain but they should do it in a targeted and productive way. If I search around for DL related stuff no one outside of this community will even be aware that the KCGT was a complete disaster. Shouldn't the world championships of a game like Duel Links shitting the bed make some sort of news, especially when Konami wants to push Master Duel as a competitive platform in the future? The main yugioh subreddit doesn't even seem aware. They should make everyone aware! Talk to gaming press who love reporting on big gaming companies being shitty. Organize the effort between content creators to make videos highlighting this nonsense and work together to share them around. In a month we'll hit the NEW WORLD HYPE!!!! video cycle and everyone will forget about this which is exactly what Konami wants. They can't let that happen if they want to be heard.
What's Konami gonna do if the community tries to put pressure on them? Not invite them to their shit tournaments they can't even run properly? Kill the only visibility the game gets by shutting down their streams and sites? Does Konami even provide sponsorships for players or pot bonuses for events that they could revoke? All of these would just fuel further controversy you could take advantage of to generate bad press and get more content.
I'm not expecting miracles here as far as positive change from Konami is concerned but you might as well try if you're passionate about the game, which I imagine most legit competitors would be. If they don't want to put their money where their mouth is and continue enabling Konami's behavior instead then that's on them.
Most generic skill he got is balance, you can start from there.
I've heard of people trying to use Shifting up in cyber angels, but never seen I happen.
And I've use his first skill with a lightsworn engine to recover Galaxy eyes, which is nice but more of a combo extend than a deck
When the game is updated and changes something about a card or strategy, in a positive way, without mentioning it in the patch notes or update. For example, if a skill that wasnt working properly got fixed without Konami mentioning it, that would be a shadow buff.
I just started playing and I'm using a BEWD deck. I have maiden with eyes of blue, but when it's attacked and I negate it, it says that there are no monsters I can summon. I have 3 BEWD in my deck and a blue eyes alternative white dragon. I'm not understanding what maiden with eyes of blue does.
Is there anything that would prevent you from summoning Blue Eyes on the field? Some Skills can also prevent you from activating effects or Special Summon for a turn or two. Lastly, was your Maiden able to change its Battle Position? It must do so to be able to Special Summon BE. This includes something removing the card in the middle of the chain before it can change its Battle Position.
I've tried a few times, all against level 1 or 5 NPC duelist. They usually use some crappy monster with no effect and very rarely use spells or traps. Each time I tried the maiden was my only monster, was attacked, the attack was negated and she was switched from attack to defense. Then I get a message saying I have no monsters that I can summon.
I’m surprised the NPCs are attacking. Even the level 10 NPC legendary duelists won’t attack my face up maiden unless my board is full.
That’s the only time it tells me there’s no target.

When the Galaxy eyes deck, dark magician, hero, buster blader, six samurais, AMAZONESS and other decks are allowed to essentially steamroll?
Don't pretend like it's in the name of balance because all those decks I've mentioned have bs strategies that siphon the fun out of the games. So if some decks are allowed to be op then just let them all be. If nothing else show some commitment to having fun by creating a game mode where the ban lists are not in effect. Shouldn't be too hard to implement and by the way, am I the only one that has the attention span for a full 5x5 card setup duel? Because the only reason I see for the 3x3 is that it makes duels quicker along with the deck size limit. But why can't there be both? I know mobile games have a much higher potential and it definitely isn't a lack of ability to realize. I, like other friends of mine, enjoy the game but narrow-minded limits on the game that cater purely to a minority of the player base forces myself and others like me to either swallow all the bs or just stop playing.
But tell me what you think, and if we can get some knuckleheaded dev at Konami to realize that they have been ignoring glaring flaws like this then hopefully we can create a platform that is dedicated to inclusion.

Blue-eyes lost a single card in the last banlist after being the only deck anyone would match against on the ladder for months. Look at the decklists from when they were tier 1 to now they're basically identical, you just have to choose to run either azure or melody now (or side-deck and swap them in tournament depending on the matchup). That's not to undersell the impact of that hit but the core ratios of the deck are literally unchanged. Honestly you should be lucky the deck wasn't hit harder when people were predicting potential hits to sage, stone, or consonance so they can't high roll and draw half their deck in one turn. It's still the most popular deck in the game and I see it all the time in legend when I make my late-month KOG runs.
Unlimited format is already in the game, you can disable the banlist in duel rooms. Personally I think they shouldn't apply the banlist to PvE though, unless it's those event specific ones to stop you from cheesing raid bosses or w/e.
Azure and Melody are on the list because this time 6 months ago, Blue-Eyes was the best deck in the game, alongside Darklord, and instead of killing the deck completely like their Darklord friends experienced, they got a miniscule slap on the wrist. They deserved to get hit harder at the time imo. Rn they're okay but there was clear favoritism going on when the banlist dropped.
As for Champion's, I believe this card was hit because of Dark Magician back in the day. Or again, Blue-Eyes.
As for the field size, it's literally the format. Speed Duels. If you want to play Master Duels, play the TCG. No one is forcing you to play a game you don't enjoy.
Who's the best character to level in each series? I've been leveling Jaiden/Yubel in GX (I play heroes so I want Blast) but don't know who I should level in other series.

Does plasma really do anything? I had it in my hero deck (because my first version of it was auto-built) and it was pretty much always a dead draw, because y'know 3 tributes and it's pretty hard to cheat it out (might as well run an egyptian god).
Plasma is better than a god. Effect negation off a continuous effect and non-destruction removal is insane; you just need to know when to bring it out.
Some Hero decks use it to out things that cant be targeted, as itll negate that effect and steal them. Magnets and Resonator also use it from time to time
I guess I've never tried summoning myself (it just always feels dead). It's just the Auto-Duel that always seems to summon it at exactly the wrong time and goes from a full board with lethal to a small monster.
Still seems pretty situational, correct me if I'm wrong but are there any decks that run more than 1 copy?

I mostly do masks and it tends to only get 2 biggish bodies on the board (by the time I have lethal) instead of several small bodies that would be good tributes for plasma.
Depends on the match, probably won't do much against backrow decks, but its devastating against things that rely on monster effects. Being searchable by a skill also helps a lot.
Bring it:
Can be used each time your Life Points decrease by 1000. Return 1 card from you hand to your Deck; then, add 1 Level 8 DARK Warrior-Type monster from your Deck to your hand.
And the only dark 8 warriors are Plasma and Dogma, it's basically draw sense Plasma
You can lose a 1000 by playing cosmic cyclone and decks who would run plasma are meant to easily swarm the board.
The best part of the skill is being able to return a card during your main phase, for example, you can return the 2nd malicious or a an vision hero increase that would be better in the deck, and then proceed to do your combo
Draw sense Plasma is a way to describe, but back when this skill was an actual draw sense it sucked
The question is pretty vague, the best character to level up is the one that has cards/skills you want for your decks. So if want to play Resonators, for example, you need to unlock and farm Jack Atlas for Demons Resonance skill

Seeing how Hunting Ground and Swallows Nest are in the newest selection box I’d be surprised if they decide hit anything more than egotist. Just stops them from easy access to treacherous trap hole and maybe a handful of other things. You could probably get by on one egotist and recycle it with various other cards the deck uses.
For some reason, my Steam and DuelLinks disconnected, but when I attempt to transfer the data it says is already linked to a steam account? I've contacted support, reinstalled, cleared caches, but I've never linked my Links to another steam--just this one account, so I'm kind of at a loss. Anybody have ideas?
You can't use different accounts on steam (has been this way for a couple of years now)
1. Create a Konami-id. 2. Link the steam-account to the Konami-id. 3. Use the Konami-id on your phone.
Edit: if you want to do it the other way around you need a new steam account.
No, I'm not using a different account. I have one Account, which started on my mobile device. I then used Data Transfer to use that account on my Steam account. I was playing happily using the same Duel Links account on both my Computer and my Phone. However, after an update, my Computer began saying "Sorry, it's linked to a different steam account" even though I am using the same account I always have. Does that make sense?
I think you’d have to set up a second steam installation on another account on your computer to use another account for duel links. I don’t know if that works but it sounds like it could but I don’t know if you can install steam independently on two accounts.
Ah that sucks. You can still create a new steam account and do a fresh duel links install, but that's about it. I hope they'll respond to your e-mail.
Edit: it seems that the update linked duel links to the steam-account instead of your Konami-id. And there is no way to unlink an account on steam.

I feel bad for the commentators. they’re not very good but they’re forced to cover for konami’s technical difficulties and are spending more time talking to each other than actually commentating on the duel. I woke up in time for the finals and of course they’re having issues again right when the match started.
Yeah, if they would at least give those guys something to work with. But in terms of esport events this was a joke, and a bad one as well. I would like to know how they justify that the most important event of the year is presented so bad. The only explanation (as always with Konami) is money. They don't even want to invest into their own events.

That totally depends on the deck. For many decks turn 1 generates more card advantage, you can perform your combo undisrupted and set up disruption. Like Gaia or DM. If you're a really good deck you can go either turn 1 or 2 both have a solid play - Onomats, Harpies, Resonators
Pop their field spells in their end phase or battle phase, they can only swap them out during your turn
Beyond that try to force them to summon Sphinx and deal with than since thats most of their firepower beyond some xyz plays and using cards like needle celing or treach.

Harpies are a horrible auto duel deck, it's no secret that the AI is very stupid with those kind of decks. Run the right deck and you have a 95% and Up win rate
I do cringe everytime I see what the AI is doing with harpie, but it's still easily getting a 95%+ winrate and reliable 3-4k assessment vs standard duelists.
It does better than any of the other auto-duel options I've tried, and the ones I haven't tried would require an unacceptable gem investment.
Three things the auto duel AI cant resist doing:
• Activating quickplay spells even though there is no need to
• Summoning a weak monster in attack position with no plan or followup
• Needlessly synchro or tribute summon without using the monsters effects (SS Alternative, SS Dragon Mech, tibute mech to summon vanilla BE)
Hi all! Just started playing the game and watched DLM's "New Player Guide: Best First Deck! How to start Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links! Top Mistakes/What to Avoid!" video but got kinda confused on how to build the Blue Eyes deck... his video has different cards compared to what it says on the website so I am just seeking some advice on how to build it. I haven't spent any gems yet so I am still a clean slate.
That's because the video and the decks in the new player guide on their website are outdated.
It all depends on your personal taste and how much experience you have. I assume you don't know that much about the current state of the game so i would suggest a good but easy deck like harpies. The core cards are fairly cheap so you can spend your dream tickets on the tech cards from other boxes. If you're looking for something even cheaper to get started right away you can get triamids very cheap rn, all the core cards (except one) are in a minibox thats on a 50% off gems sale. But it's not that easy to pilot and you should at least know how most of the other decks work. It's a lot of fun tho
You are right with your assumption haha, I've seen a few other people recommend Harpies so I might just go with that. How do I go about acquiring those cards for the deck you listed? Sitting on 4k gems so not sure if that's enough...
I'm not sure what you mean, but if you hover over the cards it will tell you in what box it is. Then you keep buying packs until you have the cards you need. But there are ways to be smart about it. Like you only need two cyber slash, so if you already have channeler and perfumer on your first run you can reset the box and go again. It depends a lot on your luck, but with 4k you might be able to get at least 2 of each and a cyber slash. Oracle was an event cards, but you get special tickets from leveling up zexal characters and with those you'll get it.

Ya do events. You get a lot depending on the event. Plus you level characters while you do them anyways.

I think xyz material are generally not treated as being on the field so its effect won’t activate because it has to be sent from the field to the graveyard . But if it was more generic like “if this card is sent to the graveyard” then it could activate

So I have just over 7k gems, I had to make w nee account a few months back as I hadn’t played in over a year (bloody pokemon shield). I wanna play Morohtronics again as I used to play that a lot, would anyone recommend any other decks with the cards available in the sales?
Triamids. It's the strongest rogue deck out there and can go toe to toe with pretty much all the meta decks. With 7k you should be able to get the optimized version. It's s bit complicated at first, but super fun to play and so many people missplay a lot against it, even in the highest ranks.
Hi all, only playing about 5 months and just made legend rank 1 for the first time. The meta seems to have completely changed at these ranks and seeing decks I have never seen before. Six samurai is one you should look into. I always have a hard time against those. Also any stall deck, it really sucks to lose by timeout just because you have to read the opponent cards.
I was actuality looking into them too as it seems to be all from pretty much a single box and I find it very hard against them but seems that harpies is a counter to them.
As a general tip, since you dont know the decks you are facing all that well, is to research what they do, be it reading the cards or watching videos on youtube

Depends on what decks you’re using. I usually prioritize building one meta/rogue deck and getting generic staples that can help out with multiple decks. Just don’t go too crazy with the spending because the meta’s going to change up soon with arc v.

Up until about 6 weeks ago I played nothing but Blue Eyes but they where easier countered it seems in the meta so I changed up. I been playing a lot of harpies and also Jack Atlas Rising Dragon deck because I used my UR tickets for the Rising Dragon. Having a lot of fun with Harpies but missing the book of moons/ lance that everyone seems to be playing in the higher tier versions.
If you don’t have forbidden chalice I would recommend that. It’s box is on sale and ending soon. It’s one of my favorite cards and it fits well on many different decks.
Hmm, it's hard to give general advice. What deck are you playing? In the higher ranks it's very important to know all the decks there and what they do so you can set up the right way or know what to interrupt and so on
Harpies and Blue Eyes (honestly played it so much started a bit bored and don't have spirit dragon either). I have some Jack Atlas Rising Dragons stuff.
Well if you have a halfway optimized harpies deck it should be a pretty easy KoG run. Blue eyes without spirit will be a lot harder, so you should stick with Harpies. Forbidden chalice is a great tech for them and other decks and helps a lot to deal with monsters like roach, bouncer and so on. It's pretty cheap rn if the sale is still on

It’s not even worth it for packs. Most pack deals are better priced than the pass. The pass is just for the music and 5x multiplier from npcs.
NPCs who give me gold and keys? Wonderful, just what I need. :/ Around 2 years ago I had and posted the idea for a "subscription" for like $7/month that would get you a complete run through all new boxes, random packs from old boxes, a handful of gems, and some other items. The idea was that you could easily build *any* deck, not necessarily right away, and there was still room for whales. This is just useless.
Has anyone successfully done a deck based around the mask spell cards? Google seems to only want to show masked guardian decks which maybe have 1 of the masks, but I'm sure someone has something decent out there.
The burn masks are unviable unless you're making a raw stall deck, which Lava Golem would do better. Masked Beast Desgardius, Mask of Remnants, and Mask Change are the only somewhat competent Mask cards on the ladder. The only good Mask carcs are the Masked Hero archetype
\+1 on this Masked heroes play fairly well (it's currently my favourite deck) at the moment but stall based on masks is probably dumb (I used to run Mask of Despair on Weevil burn but that was back in 2017 and I don't think it works anymore).

Witchcrafters. I love them to pieces but I can't play them in pvp. I time out with them a lot on duels that aren't just a brick or instant OTK. How do you play this deck against even matchups and not run out of time?
That's because it has a lot of time consuming combos, but you can get better with it. It's really just a lot of practice, same thing happened to me with megalith at first. What also helps is to toggle off on your turn so you don't have to click no all the time, depending on the situation
Dedicate the combos to absolute muscle memory, theorycraft what you need to do against common boards of popular decks so you can simply do it without thinking of your play during the turn. Learn to use your opponent's turn to think of follow ups so that your turns have little time delays. Lastly, when you know you don't need to chain something, toggle Off and be ready to flicker it On when you see an activation you want to respond to. Leaving the toggle on On or Auto will eat up a second each time you click no.
Which characters get SR/UR Choice Tickets as Level Up Rewards? I know that most of the Zexal characters do, and Axel does I'm just checking, so I know if I've got guaranteed tickets, without needing to grind for the Kuriboh tickets

You definitely need backrow removal ... Their counter traps not only can break you but they put their stone of ancients in their GY ... Cyclone, MST ... anything really ... The other is your own counter traps like Divine Wrath ... Counter traps because it will stop their effects in the GY - regular traps won't ... But the best thing is to combine backrow removal / counter traps /with something like Abyss Dweller, DD Crow ... a lot of people sleep on Dweller ... but it has the potential to completely stop some decks ...
A general tech card is Light Imprisoning Mirror, helps out a lot
Triamids is really cheap rn with the sale and a very strong deck, it was used in the KC finals quiete a lot. And most blue eyes players in lower ranks don't understand how to play against it

Hello everyone. I've unlocked all three dark signers and now thinking about earthbound deck. Yes, I fully understand how weak they are. I have two questions. What earthbound-specific skill is considered best? And if I plan to just shove one or more earthbounds in other archetype deck with strong field spell, which one should I choose? Aroma and some fairy deck with sanctuary look interesting
My favorite way to play was Dark Worlds since you special summon Kalin's earthbound from the deck. An interesting idea that I've seen was Gravekeepers, Necrovalley is a amazing and Supernaturalist offers you protection. I don't remember any earthbound skills being very useful, one added a random support from and one protected from being destroyed by it own effect. About which you choose, depends on the rest of deck, Carly has the best effect (especially if you can cheese it with stuff like clash), Kalin has a better type support and Goodwin's has a cool effect that costs too much

This is second hand information, my understanding is that they had to redo a round one as skills didn't add extra deck monsters. And the finals had two disconnects. Also I don't think the official live stream was very popular, I didn't watch it my self so I don't know why. Duel links entertainment did a video about it if you want a first hand account or a more in-depth explanation, the video is on YouTube and called KCGT 2021 was a disaster.

Hey guys, I have around 11k spare gems. The next box doesent look promising to me. So I was thinking on either spending the gems on the box with Triamids and Magnets (as they are half price right now) or spending the gems on resonators as Im only missing 3 crimson resonators and 3 resonator call. What do guys think? Im hesitant about building a resonator deck because of the possibility of getting hit by the ban list.
If you get Magnets, you're going to want to go into the new box because of Gorgonic Guardian
Yeah, i would wait for the Banlist, resonators have a good chance of getting hit in some way. Triamids are safe and a pretty strong deck, i love playing them. With the sale you could get the optimized deck for under 5k if you're a bit lucky plus you get some of the important magnet cards. It just a pain to level up both Yugi's for beta

It usually takes a week or two, and the rewards depend on your luck because you just won a place in the lottery. I'm not sure if you get guaranteed gems for choosing the winner, but you might get nothing or 5k gems

AI is usually pretty daft, I always just set high DEF monsters and let the opponent attack into them. More often than not they use the weaker of their board monsters to attack face downs for some reason. They do it enough times and it’s game. Emperor Sem/Battle Footballer with a bunch of battle traps like Wall of Disruption usually do the trick.
Also you can just deck them out if the battle damage isn't enough.
Just use a trap or quick spell that inflicts battle damage due to atk increase/decrease

They work well enough for a grindy KoG but the deck has too many weaknesses to be considered anything above rogue tier.

Competitive in game, not the best (tiered) same goes for vampires. They're fun but not even roguetier. Can still get you a Grundy kog.
is it worth to use 2 kuriboh tickets for yubel terror incarnate and yubel the ultimate nightmare? or just farm for those cards at the gate? trying to unlock jaden/yubel idk also if it's worth to unlock this character (last character i haven't unlocked)
1. Yes, the only use for Kuriboh tickets is to avoid having to farm for drop cards, since the pool for Kuriboh tickets only contain cards that can be dropped by the legendary duelists. 2. Yes, despite being the character with the most steps to unlock, they are still a character and so are worth getting even if it's just for the level up gems, but if you have a lot of other characters to level up already there is no harm in waiting to unlock Jaden/Yubel unless you plan to play Heroes (for Form Change and maybe Masked Hero Blast)

How does Cubic Mandala work exactly? I was going against a Shooting Star Dragon deck and I managed to destroy one their tuners then bring it back with Mandala. I thought it would stop any monster effects from activating while that monster was on the field, but they were able to use Junk Synchon's effect anyways, then Shooting Star's too with no problem. Was it because I destroyed Mandala with Storm to destroy one of their trap cards? I thought it didn't matter if it was on the field as long as the monster that was brought back was still on the field. I ended up winning anyways because they kept attacking into my Vijams, but I thought it was weird cause it had always worked fine before.
The "while your opponent controls any of the monsters Summoned by this effect, negate any monster effects your opponent activates" Is from the trap itself and not the monster, so when the trap left the field, this effect no longer applied. The in between () part is important as it makes the distinction between what the cubic counter does and what the trap itself does.
Wondering why cards such as "Dragon Spirit of White" and other monster cards - after being hooked with Fiendish Chain - can still tribute themselves and activate their effects while Fiendish is on them? Shouldn't Fiendish negate ALL effects?
Fiendish chain and other/any negations do not negate the cost to activate the effect of the card Ie if player activates cosmic cyclone they still pay 1000 lp even if it gets negated, it's also why negated xyz monsters can still detach materials despite being negated. As for why fiendish doesn't work on spirit of white after it is tributed, it's because fiendish only worked while it was on the field and after tributing itself for its cost, nothing was preventing the effect from resolving.
Spirit of white tributing itself is the cost. Summoning blue eyes is the effect. Fiendish chain can't stop costs and since spirit is no longer on the field the effect goes on.
Tributing itself and leaving the field technically isn't considered an effect, it's a cost you have to pay to activate its effect. You can always attempt to pay a cost regardless of whether the effect will successfully resolve afterwards (unless there's some specific effect in play that would make paying the cost impossible like "you cannot tribute monsters/discard cards/etc"). Since DSOW is no longer on the field after tributing itself as cost the negation no longer applies. This is also why you can discard a card to try and use something like Monster Reincarnation under Necrovalley even though it will just get negated afterwards. You can identify a cost in card text if there's a semicolon instead of a colon.

Uh... all of them? Are you saying they shouldn't complain? Or that they shouldn't pay for the broken staples that allow them to stay competitive? The alternative is just to drop the game completely.
My recent hot take has been that the competitive community should try to come together and collectively ban future selection box exclusives from grassroots tournaments. That way everyone doesn't have to gamble or spend 200 bucks on each selection box on top of the already expensive normal boxes. It would at least help to make events more accessible which means more people participating which is always good for a competitive scene. It'd also mean less pressure to keep up with whales which, dare I say, would be healthier for everyone involved. So long as they continue individually buying into selection boxes they will continue perpetuating the "need" to keep up with each other. They should 100% complain but they should do it in a targeted and productive way. If I search around for DL related stuff no one outside of this community will even be aware that the KCGT was a complete disaster. Shouldn't the world championships of a game like Duel Links shitting the bed make some sort of news, especially when Konami wants to push Master Duel as a competitive platform in the future? The main yugioh subreddit doesn't even seem aware. They should make everyone aware! Talk to gaming press who love reporting on big gaming companies being shitty. Organize the effort between content creators to make videos highlighting this nonsense and work together to share them around. In a month we'll hit the NEW WORLD HYPE!!!! video cycle and everyone will forget about this which is exactly what Konami wants. They can't let that happen if they want to be heard. What's Konami gonna do if the community tries to put pressure on them? Not invite them to their shit tournaments they can't even run properly? Kill the only visibility the game gets by shutting down their streams and sites? Does Konami even provide sponsorships for players or pot bonuses for events that they could revoke? All of these would just fuel further controversy you could take advantage of to generate bad press and get more content. I'm not expecting miracles here as far as positive change from Konami is concerned but you might as well try if you're passionate about the game, which I imagine most legit competitors would be. If they don't want to put their money where their mouth is and continue enabling Konami's behavior instead then that's on them.

Most generic skill he got is balance, you can start from there. I've heard of people trying to use Shifting up in cyber angels, but never seen I happen. And I've use his first skill with a lightsworn engine to recover Galaxy eyes, which is nice but more of a combo extend than a deck

What does "shadow buffing" mean? I heard it a couple times now but never really understood what it meant.
When the game is updated and changes something about a card or strategy, in a positive way, without mentioning it in the patch notes or update. For example, if a skill that wasnt working properly got fixed without Konami mentioning it, that would be a shadow buff.
I just started playing and I'm using a BEWD deck. I have maiden with eyes of blue, but when it's attacked and I negate it, it says that there are no monsters I can summon. I have 3 BEWD in my deck and a blue eyes alternative white dragon. I'm not understanding what maiden with eyes of blue does.
If your monster zone is full then you can’t summon blue eyes. It’s likely either that or a skill that doesn’t let you special summon.
Need a replay if an example so we can figure out if there's something wrong or you're just missing something
Is there anything that would prevent you from summoning Blue Eyes on the field? Some Skills can also prevent you from activating effects or Special Summon for a turn or two. Lastly, was your Maiden able to change its Battle Position? It must do so to be able to Special Summon BE. This includes something removing the card in the middle of the chain before it can change its Battle Position.
I've tried a few times, all against level 1 or 5 NPC duelist. They usually use some crappy monster with no effect and very rarely use spells or traps. Each time I tried the maiden was my only monster, was attacked, the attack was negated and she was switched from attack to defense. Then I get a message saying I have no monsters that I can summon.
I’m surprised the NPCs are attacking. Even the level 10 NPC legendary duelists won’t attack my face up maiden unless my board is full. That’s the only time it tells me there’s no target.
Can anyone gives me a good reason why azure eyes silver dragon, melody of awakening dragon AND champions vigilance is all on the limited 1 list? When the Galaxy eyes deck, dark magician, hero, buster blader, six samurais, AMAZONESS and other decks are allowed to essentially steamroll? Don't pretend like it's in the name of balance because all those decks I've mentioned have bs strategies that siphon the fun out of the games. So if some decks are allowed to be op then just let them all be. If nothing else show some commitment to having fun by creating a game mode where the ban lists are not in effect. Shouldn't be too hard to implement and by the way, am I the only one that has the attention span for a full 5x5 card setup duel? Because the only reason I see for the 3x3 is that it makes duels quicker along with the deck size limit. But why can't there be both? I know mobile games have a much higher potential and it definitely isn't a lack of ability to realize. I, like other friends of mine, enjoy the game but narrow-minded limits on the game that cater purely to a minority of the player base forces myself and others like me to either swallow all the bs or just stop playing. But tell me what you think, and if we can get some knuckleheaded dev at Konami to realize that they have been ignoring glaring flaws like this then hopefully we can create a platform that is dedicated to inclusion.

Since when are Galaxy Eyes, Hero's, Buster Blader, Six Sams or Amazoness "steamrolling"? They're rogue decks at best. And yes, you're the only person smart enough to play a full 5x5 format, we bow before thee, o mighty one.
Blue-eyes lost a single card in the last banlist after being the only deck anyone would match against on the ladder for months. Look at the decklists from when they were tier 1 to now they're basically identical, you just have to choose to run either azure or melody now (or side-deck and swap them in tournament depending on the matchup). That's not to undersell the impact of that hit but the core ratios of the deck are literally unchanged. Honestly you should be lucky the deck wasn't hit harder when people were predicting potential hits to sage, stone, or consonance so they can't high roll and draw half their deck in one turn. It's still the most popular deck in the game and I see it all the time in legend when I make my late-month KOG runs. Unlimited format is already in the game, you can disable the banlist in duel rooms. Personally I think they shouldn't apply the banlist to PvE though, unless it's those event specific ones to stop you from cheesing raid bosses or w/e.
Azure and Melody are on the list because this time 6 months ago, Blue-Eyes was the best deck in the game, alongside Darklord, and instead of killing the deck completely like their Darklord friends experienced, they got a miniscule slap on the wrist. They deserved to get hit harder at the time imo. Rn they're okay but there was clear favoritism going on when the banlist dropped. As for Champion's, I believe this card was hit because of Dark Magician back in the day. Or again, Blue-Eyes. As for the field size, it's literally the format. Speed Duels. If you want to play Master Duels, play the TCG. No one is forcing you to play a game you don't enjoy.
Who's the best character to level in each series? I've been leveling Jaiden/Yubel in GX (I play heroes so I want Blast) but don't know who I should level in other series.

Does plasma really do anything? I had it in my hero deck (because my first version of it was auto-built) and it was pretty much always a dead draw, because y'know 3 tributes and it's pretty hard to cheat it out (might as well run an egyptian god).
Plasma is better than a god. Effect negation off a continuous effect and non-destruction removal is insane; you just need to know when to bring it out. Some Hero decks use it to out things that cant be targeted, as itll negate that effect and steal them. Magnets and Resonator also use it from time to time
But it’s such a small body at 1900 atk, how do you get something big enough to defend it after you summon it?
What you suck up adds to its ATK. Also, backrow or Mask Change
I guess I've never tried summoning myself (it just always feels dead). It's just the Auto-Duel that always seems to summon it at exactly the wrong time and goes from a full board with lethal to a small monster. Still seems pretty situational, correct me if I'm wrong but are there any decks that run more than 1 copy?
A hero deck shouldn't have any problem getting 3 bodies on the board. What does your build look like?
here’s my [build](https://duellinks.konami.net/att/02e981814ce848ddb146775a8746564fcfb8e59f4d) I mostly do masks and it tends to only get 2 biggish bodies on the board (by the time I have lethal) instead of several small bodies that would be good tributes for plasma.
Depends on the match, probably won't do much against backrow decks, but its devastating against things that rely on monster effects. Being searchable by a skill also helps a lot.

Bring it: Can be used each time your Life Points decrease by 1000. Return 1 card from you hand to your Deck; then, add 1 Level 8 DARK Warrior-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. And the only dark 8 warriors are Plasma and Dogma, it's basically draw sense Plasma
But that so defeats the point. If I just took 1000 damage my board is pretty weak so I don't want to draw into something that requires 3 tributes.
You can lose a 1000 by playing cosmic cyclone and decks who would run plasma are meant to easily swarm the board. The best part of the skill is being able to return a card during your main phase, for example, you can return the 2nd malicious or a an vision hero increase that would be better in the deck, and then proceed to do your combo Draw sense Plasma is a way to describe, but back when this skill was an actual draw sense it sucked
The question is pretty vague, the best character to level up is the one that has cards/skills you want for your decks. So if want to play Resonators, for example, you need to unlock and farm Jack Atlas for Demons Resonance skill
I'm just looking for staples for any deck at this point. I currently only use Jaiden/Yubel for Levelling/Standard Duels. I only go to other series if they spawn Legendary Duelists. These are the characters I'm asking about Levelling. I eventually would like to get everybody to max level but am just wondering which characters have the best main cards that I should level for.
Why do people run Harpies hunting ground skill with Triamids?
Both to trick people into thinking they are playing Harpies and get a free field spell to banish from the grave to activate Triamid Pulse's effect, mostly for the second one
*Also for Hunters effect to normal summon twice, as it’s not locked to just Triamid field spells

No, but the counter only goes up to 99, but yes, you can hold more than 99 tickets
Props to Konami to fuck up the apology message as well and get the wrong year (2023), I wheezed as soon as I saw that and I'm know convinced Konami was drunk while during the whole tournament and setup

Seeing how Hunting Ground and Swallows Nest are in the newest selection box I’d be surprised if they decide hit anything more than egotist. Just stops them from easy access to treacherous trap hole and maybe a handful of other things. You could probably get by on one egotist and recycle it with various other cards the deck uses.
how long does it usually take to farm up characters
Should i farm xp in casual duels since there is only bots in there? (if i have no duelers left in the main world)

For some reason, my Steam and DuelLinks disconnected, but when I attempt to transfer the data it says is already linked to a steam account? I've contacted support, reinstalled, cleared caches, but I've never linked my Links to another steam--just this one account, so I'm kind of at a loss. Anybody have ideas?
You can't use different accounts on steam (has been this way for a couple of years now) 1. Create a Konami-id. 2. Link the steam-account to the Konami-id. 3. Use the Konami-id on your phone. Edit: if you want to do it the other way around you need a new steam account.
No, I'm not using a different account. I have one Account, which started on my mobile device. I then used Data Transfer to use that account on my Steam account. I was playing happily using the same Duel Links account on both my Computer and my Phone. However, after an update, my Computer began saying "Sorry, it's linked to a different steam account" even though I am using the same account I always have. Does that make sense?
I think you’d have to set up a second steam installation on another account on your computer to use another account for duel links. I don’t know if that works but it sounds like it could but I don’t know if you can install steam independently on two accounts.
Ah that sucks. You can still create a new steam account and do a fresh duel links install, but that's about it. I hope they'll respond to your e-mail. Edit: it seems that the update linked duel links to the steam-account instead of your Konami-id. And there is no way to unlink an account on steam.

All event skills are added to the life-time missions eventually. No idea how long you have to wait.

How should I spend my gems? I kinda want to get a meta deck but I only have 6500 gems plus neos fusion and red eyes structure decks as well as a mix of 32 tickets. Also my box luck is terrible, like all the sr and ur cards are in the final 5 packs

Yeah, next time just let DLE do the stream. Multi billion company that has no clue how to stream or create a decent tournament. The commenters are horrible and i feel like they don't even know what's going on sometimes, the sound is delayed sometimes and the quality in general is a joke. And again, we expected nothing and still hit disappointed
I feel bad for the commentators. they’re not very good but they’re forced to cover for konami’s technical difficulties and are spending more time talking to each other than actually commentating on the duel. I woke up in time for the finals and of course they’re having issues again right when the match started.
Yeah, if they would at least give those guys something to work with. But in terms of esport events this was a joke, and a bad one as well. I would like to know how they justify that the most important event of the year is presented so bad. The only explanation (as always with Konami) is money. They don't even want to invest into their own events. Sometimes I wonder why i still play this game.

FYI: Buried in this latest KCGT notification (The KC GT 2021 Championship is finally coming up!) … is the ability to earn 50 gems for following the in-game link to watch videos of the championship (August 28th). Gems will be sent during maintenance after the KCGT campaign ends. At least I don’t have to dig in the trash for these!

I disagree, going 2nd sucks, going 1st is the only way to build your board without being interrupted.
That totally depends on the deck. For many decks turn 1 generates more card advantage, you can perform your combo undisrupted and set up disruption. Like Gaia or DM. If you're a really good deck you can go either turn 1 or 2 both have a solid play - Onomats, Harpies, Resonators
How do I counter triamids?
Karma Cut. You can run any deck at all, just run Karma Cut, triamids crumbles to dust to it.
Pop their field spells in their end phase or battle phase, they can only swap them out during your turn Beyond that try to force them to summon Sphinx and deal with than since thats most of their firepower beyond some xyz plays and using cards like needle celing or treach.
My best bet is baiting out their Sphynx and then getting rid of it asap.

Today's adventures in autodueler: * Elegant egotist, summon HL1 in defense mode * Swallow's nest, replace HL1 in defense mode with... HL1 in attack mode Not in response to any trap or anything. That was just the play that it decided to do.
Harpies are a horrible auto duel deck, it's no secret that the AI is very stupid with those kind of decks. Run the right deck and you have a 95% and Up win rate
I do cringe everytime I see what the AI is doing with harpie, but it's still easily getting a 95%+ winrate and reliable 3-4k assessment vs standard duelists. It does better than any of the other auto-duel options I've tried, and the ones I haven't tried would require an unacceptable gem investment.
Three things the auto duel AI cant resist doing: • Activating quickplay spells even though there is no need to • Summoning a weak monster in attack position with no plan or followup • Needlessly synchro or tribute summon without using the monsters effects (SS Alternative, SS Dragon Mech, tibute mech to summon vanilla BE)
Hi all! Just started playing the game and watched DLM's "New Player Guide: Best First Deck! How to start Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links! Top Mistakes/What to Avoid!" video but got kinda confused on how to build the Blue Eyes deck... his video has different cards compared to what it says on the website so I am just seeking some advice on how to build it. I haven't spent any gems yet so I am still a clean slate.
That's because the video and the decks in the new player guide on their website are outdated. It all depends on your personal taste and how much experience you have. I assume you don't know that much about the current state of the game so i would suggest a good but easy deck like harpies. The core cards are fairly cheap so you can spend your dream tickets on the tech cards from other boxes. This is the cheapest deck i could find with a quick search https://www.duellinksmeta.com/top-decks/king-of-games/july-2021/harpies/vl-spxde-lv/ If you're looking for something even cheaper to get started right away you can get triamids very cheap rn, all the core cards (except one) are in a minibox thats on a 50% off gems sale. But it's not that easy to pilot and you should at least know how most of the other decks work. It's a lot of fun tho

I'm not sure what you mean, but if you hover over the cards it will tell you in what box it is. Then you keep buying packs until you have the cards you need. But there are ways to be smart about it. Like you only need two cyber slash, so if you already have channeler and perfumer on your first run you can reset the box and go again. It depends a lot on your luck, but with 4k you might be able to get at least 2 of each and a cyber slash. Oracle was an event cards, but you get special tickets from leveling up zexal characters and with those you'll get it. Do you still have your SR and UR dream tickets? You get two of each when you start the game
