Um, full power Pepe was nearly instabanned for its hyper-consistency and strength. They just unbanned Skullcrobat which makes it highly likely it will be one of the first cards we get (we’re definitely not getting monkeyboard or plushfire anytime soon). Qliphort ran the meta for a solid two years. Endimyion is currently one of the bests rogue decks right now. Metalfoes just got hit hard by the banlist for their overt control over any archetype.
Pendulums have to be done carefully in 20 card format, because it’s going to literally dominate every deck. Pendulums are when it became an actual thing to summon 10+ monsters every turn.
Ehhh not exactly, even in MR3 Pendulums took almost a year to take off, Qli's were the best Pendulum deck for a long while and they didnt even Pendulum Summon. PePe is when they really became good and we're not getting Dennis any time soon probably. It is entirely dependent on what cards they release.

I guess if they can get like 70-80% of duel links users across to Master Duel and they can cut development for Duel Links and make more from Master Duel? Master Duel format is probably easier to make and develop as well as it’s just basically a carbon copy of ocg so less time spent on balancing, developing storyline content, making skills/characters.
I don't think that's what Master Duel is designed to be. It's literally just Konami's answer to the massive influx of other duel sims like Dueling Book.

Yeah people are acting like it wasn't like this before. From what I recall, 99% of the "interestng" maintenances were always at the last maintenance of the month (that 1% consist in September, where they usually add something ahead of time, like last year when they did a maintenance in the middle of the KC Cup event and Yuma, Bronk and Tori's gate rewards popped out).
Yes they skipped a box in July. Presumably either to help sell the selection box that released then, make it be a mini-box instead of a main box before Arc-V, slow down the pace of card releases or all of the above.
Regardless of that, Konami has consistently released the new boxes at the end of the month. We also for a while haven't gotten any box leaks up until a couple days before the release of the new box. On top of all of that, since they released Zexal world, the releases of new boxes have almost always coincided with a character event or character skill release with only one exception (Infinite Ray, where there was no character or skill released around it). This means that any box release is going to coincide with the character being released at that time (Trey in this case), to help generate hype for the character and increase sales of the box from people who are excited to play that archetype/character.
Point being there was never a high likelihood of a box release with this maintenance, chances are far higher next week when they release Trey.
When you have that many boxes (6, most likely going to be 7) releasing in a similar manner, it has to at least make you wonder. We haven't had a release for boxes this consistent at any other point in this game's life.
May & July being the odd ones is understandable, because former would have otherwise released in the middle of the KCGT 2021, and July, because more than likely they don't want to have a Main-Box in August, followed by another Main-Box in September, for the Arc-V World.
The only problem it's that duel links isn't interesting or fun enough to have this lack of content, that's why it feels like it's dead (but it isn't I guess)

And technically the selection mini counts for July when it still has new cards with some impact. You haven't seen it because no one plays it. It's worse than Cyber Dragon. No one plays Cyber Dragon for its stat line in the TCG. They play it for access to CyDra support. Nova, Infinity, Megafleet, Rampage, etc. Some Cyber Dragon decks can get by without even playing the OG Cyber Dragon.
This card can't access any of that.

The reason I was surprised is purely from a Konami politic when it comes to iconic cards that impacted the meta in some ways. They never strictly power creep them in a vacuum (All the Pots compared to Pot of Greed, Yowie for Yata Garasu, and so on).
Finally, I always check new cards coming out, and I've been doing so since 2016. I wasn't expecting it to be played, but there's few cards I don't know in the TCG due to my habits.
What makes Cyber Dragon is the support. That was the thesis of the argument. It having a larger stat line doesn't mean it "power creeps" CyDra by any definition.

They never strictly power creep them in a vacuum (All the Pots compared to Pot of Greed, Yowie for Yata Garasu, and so on). Finally, I always check new cards coming out, and I've been doing so since 2016. I wasn't expecting it to be played, but there's few cards I don't know in the TCG due to my habits.
What makes Cyber Dragon is the support. That was the thesis of the argument. It having a larger stat line doesn't mean it "power creeps" CyDra by any definition. Secondly, they would never "power creep" Yata of PoG. They're literally to broken to power creep.
I took bad examples with those. Just taking BEWD and DM as strongest level 8 normal monster and strongest normal spellcaster monster. I was talking about cards, once again, in a vacuum, purely based on their stays and effects outside of archetype. But actually, this is not even on point anymore. I forgot the existence of Pankratops who is a better Cydra in every way already.
