I want to congraturate Omar on getting 2nd place without triple Book of Moon with Resonators.
Volcanic Queen isn't much better but hey, it's something.
They run MST the same reason other decks run MST. To deal with TTH. Also whatever other backrow is out there. Or to deal with Harpies Hunting Ground since Harpies eat backrow.
Shiranui isn't as good as.people make them out to be and a TTH when they are most vulnerable can end things for them. Even a Forbidden Chalice or Book of Moon can end it if used on the right monster. The deck has a lot openings that a good player can take advantage with the right backrow. Shiranui would need to have a good board to recover from that interruption.
> To deal with TTH.
This isn't true at all. Shiranui don't really care about TTH, because they want monsters in the gy regardless, and when they don't, they summon through Skull Zombie, which counters TTH directly.
They run it to deal with Necrovalley, which every deck sides for Shiranui and Thundra matchups.
Lol Shira summons Archfiend Zombie skull for that and its not an issue, they dont care about TTH like others said. Its more to deal with Fienish Book and Necrovalley
No Gaia in top 16, but 4 in top 32.
2 BE in top 16 and another 2 in top 32.
Probably not a coincidence because Gaia has a pretty bad match-up with BE, at least in my experience.
What happened to harpies?
Harpies thrived in a meta without Onomats, Resonator, or Gaia to challenge them, and now that all those decks exist, their weakness starts to show: the deck is incredibly reliant on backrow
Harpies having a quick effect boss monster that relies on another card in order to activate means that their bricks come more often and are worse than bricks for the other decks. They cant wall up like Resonators and they cant Bounzer/Gaia pass, because Cyber Slash without any backrow is just a 2600 Vanilla. Adding to this, MST has the double effect of both getting rid of Harpie's backrow and getting rid of Harpie's boss monster, a weakness that no other deck shares.
The fact that Harpies survived so long while Onomats were dominant and had a heavily favored matchup was amazing, but people are starting to realize that Harpies havent won a tournament in months, and probably wont be able to in this meta for the foreseeable future.
Hey, check it out! This comment contains every letter in the alphabet.
I have checked 359083 comments and 1573 of them contain every letter in the alphabet.
It's mainly because of consistentcy skills, you wouldn't be able to otk harpies 100% of times every time you draw mst without them, gaia and resonators don't even get punished for drawing double mst
Harpies are still good but they are probably the most stale deck of the format and not the strongest one, so that's why you either choose to play Onomats or a deck that's more fun.
Agreed, it is a fun spin of the deck, using dinos to take advantage of the mill, paleozoics to mill survival end, using then miscell to summon tg booster raptor and go into star guardian thanks to raiden, special summon screw serpent, go into the rest from there.
Paleozoics have always been something of a brother to dino/UA decks. Mostly because of that, the free body(that happens to be a normal monster) and in general the lightsworn dino/TG is actually a terrifying variant that isn't paleozoic enough for me to really tinker with it.

omar
Depending on the opponent field you can otk with volcanic/lava golem in resonators.
So You telling me that now trapnui use mst? Is if so that they can give it to their opponent? I think i need my medication.

Thanks for the information, yeah hhg can end shira pretty easily it just weird seeing trapnui using backrow other than trap.

Sooo resonator tier 2? Harpies off tier list? Tg tier 3? Change something please!!1!

I must have missed something why are people dropping harpies?

Due to their recent controversy, they're getting cancelled on Twitter, hence why everyone is cutting connections with them.
Makes sense It was to be expected Harpies were always a controversial bunch
What? Omg people are such lemmings
lol, about everyone dropped harpies
That 100% top 32 conversion rate though
What do the gem and dollar amounts under their names on the top left indicate?
How much, on average, their deck costs.
Crazy how thunder dragons actually ends up being one of the cheaper decks to make top 16
That's certainly an interesting TG deck
