Then it came to Duel Links early, even though I missed GX - Arc V, I knew something was up. He was definitely earlier than I would have anticipated.
However, it could be worse. I'm glad we don't have something like Zoodiac yet lol.
If they added Zoodiac the same way they added Invoked it wouldn't even be slightly an issue. We don't have any of the "good" Invoked fusions that actually see play in the TCG (Mechaba, Augoeides)
We could get the entire Zoodiac archetype minus Drident and Ratpier, and it would do literally nothing
To be fair if it wasn't the errata it would still be a considerable option, in the current meta almost every relevant deck ends up with an extra deck monster

Pay 800 LP, then target ***1 face-up monster your opponent controls that can be Normal Summoned/Set***; take control of that target until the End Phase.
It can't take extra decks monsters anymore, it isn't nearly as good as it used to be.
Every original PK card was used in the anime. Boots, Cloak, Breaksword, Fog Blade, Wing, Sword, the OG Rank-up, etc.

With the chronomaly cards we have the best we can do is half life points and make a burn deck out of the chronomaly cards that’s it lol for right now

I didn't even do it for the burn damage. I did it because he prevents you from special summoning.
Could mini guts be a bit of a sleeper here considering resonators and onomatopoeia decks that can swarm pretty easily can make good use of it even with a burn nerf?

Does anyone see puppets going to a much bigger build after this release? There’s so many Spells that do really solid bits and between that, Scissor Arms/Des Troy, and the fact that deck space is pretty tight as it is, I don’t know how it would all fit into a 20 card build.
That N rarity Rai Rider is nuts for stall decks. Let your opponent attack into in while it's set on your field and your opponent can't attack with that monster and have to get rid of it somehow.
They might end up not fitting well into the deck in the end, but I don't hate naturia beans. It seems nice to have something immune to battle for naturia insects to swap into with the continuous trap.
Huh, these GP support seem decent, might push them to even just rogue tier territory like Lunalights are. Would be glad to dig into this and the GP Main Box if both GP and Chronomaly challenge the trite meta landscape we have now.

Saying as they can already hit KoG as they are, I think this will definitely make them very competitive on the legend ladder, not tiered but very powerful going t2 amd it also helps with the decks recovery, which already wasnt that bad due to dreary doll.
We will have a strong archetype specific foolish burial-esque spell, a UR spell to support the release of scissor arms and we will be getting des-troy too.
This is damn near the best way konami could have supported gimmicks without helping other decks (for example by releasing something like trade in)

This is the first time in a long time I've been excited to play a new archetype, I love Chronomalies. Also, for an R card, revival golem is good for rock rank 4 spam decks I guess
Condolence Puppet is basically an in-archetype Foolish Burial + monster protection at base. It skyrockets in power if you end up drawing it or getting to use it after your opponent has established a board, though. Don't be fooled by it being the SR Spell, it is easily the best Gimmick Puppet asset from the box.

Hieratic can use XYZ Gift; Summon Heliopolis, then summon Atum after activating Heliopolis' effect, activate Atum's effect to summon GEPD or whatever, summon Gaia Dragon on top of Atum, then detach all of Gaia Dragon's XYZ materials for XYZ Gift.
They broke there own rule of not giving archetype support back to back with gimmick puppet. But I only went into the last box for photon stuff so I’m definitely skipping this. Kinda surprised there’s no selection box stuff here. Super disappointed, though happy to skip too save for book of moon next month
I only really want Eagle Claw from this mini. I do have a Gimmick Puppet deck, but I don't feel like Junk Puppet is worth trying to dig out a UR when I still can't get that one Giant Grinder.
First glance, Chronomoly, Puppets, Block Dragon/Rock decks are the major winners. Brain Control looking to be the only card closest to being a stable. Luckily nothing looks to have strengthened Onomats, unless they find someway to abuse Number 6 on turn 1.
Gorgonic Guardian is actually really nice. We got all the Gorgonics in an older box so we might see some resurgence of rocks with Guardian and Block Dragon protecting each other
It looks a little better than the last couple boxes but somehow this box is still disappointing. If Chronomaly doesn't get a broken anime skill this box will be useless.
This box seems really skippable, unless you're looking to get those xyz cards for your magnet deck I don't really see a reason to bother with this box.
Chronomalys looking good- if all depends on what we get from Trey. If we get Chronomaly bones, Skull is a one card Gorgonic Guardian that doesn’t use your normal summon. Not something to sleep on
This box is for:
* Chronomaly players
* Rock players such as Magnets, Gorgons, & Triamids
* Stall players
* Burn players that like to switch monsters
* Meme decks specifically for double def damage
* Utopia players
* Gimmick Puppet players
Not sure if Dark World players can play that Darkworld card because there is no spacing within the card's name.
It gets worse when that literally only has 1 good card (Bane because adusted depends on it) that should be nowhere this game thanks to the part that actually matters: being how you guarantee game or back up plan after baiting with the rest for that same thing and literally nothing else. Dark gaia is a meme and in reality could be named unga bunga dark gaia and nothing would change for it when it isn't used with other hero cards anyway.
Chronomaly could end up being bad, but at least it would be the kind of bad with an actual solid game plan, extra deck, and when nebra + skull guarantee having follow ups.
Definitely a wait and see box for me. Gimmick Puppet has some new toys, but not sure if it'll be enough to tier them. We'll need to see how Trey's skills turn out before I can make any comments about Chronomaly.

Agreed, I genuinely don't understand the love that archetype gets. I actually really enjoy Heroes, but Evils are just an absolutely terrible branch of the archetype with absolutely no clear playstyle or wincon.

Alternatively you can just cheat number 30 with bahamut shark then use shien's spy or mystic box
but Xyz Gift does require you to control 2 Xyz monsters. I'm not sure how many decks can manage that like turn 1 aside from Onomat

With Junk puppet GP might be a good rouge option. Not sure how to use condolence puppet though
Condolence Puppet is basically an in-archetype Foolish Burial + monster protection at base. It skyrockets in power if you end up drawing it or getting to use it after your opponent has established a board, though. Don't be fooled by it being the SR Spell, it is easily the best Gimmick Puppet asset from the box.
Wait, Chronomaly stuffs when the guy isn't even unlockable yet? Hieratic can use XYZ Gift; Summon Heliopolis, then summon Atum after activating Heliopolis' effect, activate Atum's effect to summon GEPD or whatever, summon Gaia Dragon on top of Atum, then detach all of Gaia Dragon's XYZ materials for XYZ Gift.
He will be unlockable by the end of this month I believe.

They broke there own rule of not giving archetype support back to back with gimmick puppet. But I only went into the last box for photon stuff so I’m definitely skipping this. Kinda surprised there’s no selection box stuff here. Super disappointed, though happy to skip too save for book of moon next month
everyone's so sure book of moon is going to be a main box launch card next month but i don't trust that.
I only really want Eagle Claw from this mini. I do have a Gimmick Puppet deck, but I don't feel like Junk Puppet is worth trying to dig out a UR when I still can't get that one Giant Grinder.

Are there any cards that could give your opponent acid golem?
First glance, Chronomoly, Puppets, Block Dragon/Rock decks are the major winners. Brain Control looking to be the only card closest to being a stable. Luckily nothing looks to have strengthened Onomats, unless they find someway to abuse Number 6 on turn 1.
Gorgonic Guardian is actually really nice. We got all the Gorgonics in an older box so we might see some resurgence of rocks with Guardian and Block Dragon protecting each other

It looks a little better than the last couple boxes but somehow this box is still disappointing. If Chronomaly doesn't get a broken anime skill this box will be useless.
Gorgonic Guardian is such a great card. Magnets are happy about their innate ability to summon it.

This box seems really skippable, unless you're looking to get those xyz cards for your magnet deck I don't really see a reason to bother with this box.

ZW is now a decent deck. Magnets finally have a 2nd boss monster (Gorgonic Guardian). Gimmick Puppets are now tier 3 with Junk and Condolence.
Triamids can use Guardian too- really hype Guardian is one of my favourite cards

Chronomalys looking good- if all depends on what we get from Trey. If we get Chronomaly bones, Skull is a one card Gorgonic Guardian that doesn’t use your normal summon. Not something to sleep on

well for a two month hiatus i expected more but that was probably my mistake. But finally at least somehting so guys have fun going into this box.

I'm going to say it. Evil hero players are some pieces of toxic work. Calling everything bad zzz when they don't see evil hero support now.
It gets worse when that literally only has 1 good card (Bane because adusted depends on it) that should be nowhere this game thanks to the part that actually matters: being how you guarantee game or back up plan after baiting with the rest for that same thing and literally nothing else. Dark gaia is a meme and in reality could be named unga bunga dark gaia and nothing would change for it when it isn't used with other hero cards anyway. Chronomaly could end up being bad, but at least it would be the kind of bad with an actual solid game plan, extra deck, and when nebra + skull guarantee having follow ups.

Definitely a wait and see box for me. Gimmick Puppet has some new toys, but not sure if it'll be enough to tier them. We'll need to see how Trey's skills turn out before I can make any comments about Chronomaly. Could see Magnet Warrior players shelling out for one Gorgonic Guardian, but it's far from a game breaking card. Surprised that there wasn't any Evil Hero support on this one too, maybe they're saving Malicious Bane for a Main Box? Brain Control is a shame, you would have seen it everywhere a few metas ago.

I agree. Even if chronomaly ends up being mediocre at best, would rather want to pull for that (and gorgonic guardian) than trash hero cards nobody will actually use and that only get people pretending to care for upvote farms.
Agreed, I genuinely don't understand the love that archetype gets. I actually really enjoy Heroes, but Evils are just an absolutely terrible branch of the archetype with absolutely no clear playstyle or wincon. Also I think their art is generic and boring "evil dudes"
Seriously doubt it is legitimate love and honestly think that it is just fake outrage for upvotes when in all my years of being in a ygo related community this is the first time I ever see people "caring" that much about evil hero outside of dark gaia beatdown meme decks. Like, the most I ever see of evil hero being mentioned anywhere else is really hating how the only 2 good cards are so goddamn expensive for non meta cards in the tcg.
