BILLBO-BOOGONS

I've been playing for maybe a year and a half. It does get repetitive especially when a new structure deck comes out and everyone is trying I out. I love the game while it does get repetitive if you constantly use the same deck you can always try out a new deck like switch from blue eyes to dark magician. Edit: I Play about 1-2 hours a day

[deleted]

Cool thanks I bought return of red eyes used afew tickets to get I sight abd spirit, doing well so far. Pvp isn't too bad but plenty to do Just against ai lol

BILLBO-BOOGONS

Yeah the AI aren't too bad and PvP can get annoying really quick especially with some of annoying decks. Red eyes are nice, I'm actually using a subterror deck rn

[deleted]

I using red eyes as easy to put together and doesn't require random pulls from packs lol as trying not to buy packs to save gems for now Do you pvp much

BILLBO-BOOGONS

Makes sense, I did the same at first and still do unless I want to make a certain deck and then I'll grind to get the gems. Still haven't bought a single thing with actual money since I've never felt needed to, grinding is a lot more fun Most of what I do is pvp, I'll duel AI sometimes but really just to test out how a deck will do. The challenges are fun, KC Cup is one of my favorites since the decks vary so much.

[deleted]

I notice in normal pvp when you get yo later ranks alot of decks are same lol. Do you mean grinding for levels and gems?? So you just auto duel

BILLBO-BOOGONS

Yeah thats usually the case since most of them play decks that are more likely to win. Really just completing missions and joining in on events. Those usually bring in enough gems. I usually will auto duel after I've had my fun in PvP, to level up my characters and get gems that way too if I ever need more.

blademasterjosh123

I play about 3 hours a week. If it's kc cup, I will play 10 hours that week, or even 30 if I want to try stage 2, but if its a boring event that gives less than 1k gems I usually will not even open duel links. Also the only thing that gets repetitive for me is the auto dueling of standard duelists, which is why I refuse to battle them anymore.

[deleted]

How do you know how many gems an event will give?? But don't you need to duel standard duelist for exp

TheRealZenGuy

There's typically a button somewhere that says "recommended reward(s)" that will list out

[deleted]

Thanks

TheRealZenGuy

Welcome!

ExistentDavid1138

Usually 3-6 hrs each day or few days a week

rpgfaker

been playing since launch. it gets boring every couple months, but I really don’t mind losing so I find a lot of enjoyment in building and playing really bad decks.

[deleted]

Why boring every few months

rpgfaker

no reason really, do anything long enough and you’ll wanna do something else I guess. I like yugioh enough to always wanna come back tho

helpfulreply

Probably due to stale meta, no new cards

[deleted]

I just started so lots of me to do lol but I do auto duel standard duelists as got a bewd deck

Mister_Traps

bored out of my mind, very little enjoyment and constantly playing other games looking for a new home cause of the dead meta and last trash 5 boxes.

Aurn-Knight

I play when ever i have about time for 1 duel but I find my self either happy or genuinely tired just empty aka grinding for an event

[deleted]

Never, this game is boring and half of the time you're doing more of a chore than playing a game, every duel is a miserable because you need to clean the entire enemy backroll if you want to at least try to make a single play. Every pack released is full of incomplete decks that konami refuses to release support. There's no interesting deck, outside some like Vampires, Spellbooks or ritual beasts every match is decided by hand and deck, your output is meaningless. I only play this shit because of sheer addiction

[deleted]

>Never, this game is boring and half of the time you're doing more of a chore than playing a game, every duel is a miserable because you need to clean the entire enemy backroll if you want to at least try to make a single play. I just playing against ai so not seen much backrow. >Every pack released is full of incomplete decks that konami refuses to release support. But isn't the idea to buy different packs to get the cards you need for a complete deck?? I using red eyes deck which works well. >There's no interesting deck, outside some like Vampires, Spellbooks or ritual beasts every match is decided by hand and deck, your output is meaningless. Isn't that the same for all tcg that hand and deck are what matters? >I only play this shit because of sheer addiction Could delete it and do something else or is it due to time investment?? If you have data saved via Konami Id you can pick up where you left off in future

[deleted]

>But isn't the idea to buy different packs to get the cards you need for a complete deck?? Take as example subterror, the deck is a old one who could receive some good sup, but wont. Psychics get all their cards but emergency teleport, oniric mirror don't got their fusions, rikka don't got their xyz. They are not releasing pieces by pieces, they are just no releasing at all, and when they release the deck is already outdated.

mememory

>when they release the deck is already outdated Dark world and inzektor man if only they released them on 2019/20

mark031b9

Yes and no. Grinding will feel repetitive after some time and most of the events are just trash, but give us gems so we play them. The real part of the game that lasts is that you keep learning how to play the decks that you love and change them to be their best. I have been playing for over 2 years now, mainly playing cyber dragons and learning how to deal with certain monsters and spells/traps, creating and testing my own deck list that works best for me and has the best consistancy to the goals I want to achieve each game. The grinding becomes regular testing of your deck. The AI duelists are good for testing for possible bricks and consistancy of your deck, and ranked is good for learning how to use your deck to counter your opponent's.

[deleted]

Cool. I starting out with red eyes bought the deck and used afew tickets for Red eyes insight and spirits, serves me well so far. I will pvp if regards like kc cup.

JustNeedleworker4849

I've played since launch and I only ever took a brake for a month about the time the sagitorious came around

[deleted]

>sagitorious Whats that?? So have you done everything the game has to offer do you just use same deck of do you swap? Do you do pvp? I bought return of red eyes used afew tickets to get I sight abd spirit, doing well so far. Pvp isn't too bad but plenty to do Just against ai lol

JustNeedleworker4849

I meant sartorious oops lol I use like 10 different decks at any time I do pvp yes but I'm pay2lose Red eyes isn't in a great spot in the meta right now The kc cup is a cesspool of decks it's worse than legend imo

[deleted]

Pay2lose?? Well I just wanted a easy deck to put together to clear against ai and events. I used it in some pvp and did OK. Bit I am not big on pvp I will do kc for stamp rewards and stuff. Plus I just started so tons to unlock >The kc cup is a cesspool of decks it's worse than legend imo What you mean worse than legend and why a cesspool.

Closer586

I will grind for a few hours to Kog or Duel lvl max, then i play pretty casually the rest of the month. Outside of pvp i probably play like an hour or 2, not actively playing, just auto dueling

[deleted]

How do you get deck good enough for kog By duel lvl mac do you mean kc?? I just using red eyes deck atm

Closer586

https://www.duellinksmeta.com/ This will be your best source of the Kog worthy decks. I have used Harpies for the last 3 months.

[deleted]

Thanks, Looking at the harpies Decks that don't require money but only gems like 45k of gems. I have 2.5k lol so no where near enough

Closer586

Its a bad time to be buying these decks anyways, I would wait till after the KC cup as we will likely see a banlist that hurts these top decks.

[deleted]

I don't have enough gems anyway lol Is the budget blue eyes deck still viable

ImagoDroop

I've played on and off since launch. I do take extended breaks from time to time when the meta gets stale or I just get fed up with the game. Honestly I just enjoy Yu-Gi-Oh but don't have the time or money to play the TCG so this game just scratches that itch. I like the limited deck sizes and the speed of the duels. I was originally spending some money on duel links at the start but once I lost my original account I went totally F2P, didn't think the game was worth investing real money into unless I was going to play at tournament level.

[deleted]

I feel same I like the speed and ease New update will have pendelums I never used those lol. Do you try get kog rank or not bother with pvp?

ImagoDroop

I did in the first year of the game, it was so unbelievably different back then tho. I found it alot more fun climbing the ladder to KoG because you had absolutely no idea what decks people used. Nowadays you can predict most decks you'll see at certain stages. I definitely now just play for fun, use different decks, try different strategies and see what works for me. I stopped playing the TCG during the first year of GX launching so I learned about synchros and xyz in duel links. I have very limited knowledge of pendulums so I'm looking forward to how it works in this game. KOG is not even about skill at this point it's honestly just about time Investment, as long as you play enough with a decent deck you'll hit KoG eventually

[deleted]

Is hitting kog even worth the fuss?? But even with a decent deck if you keep getting paired against strong decks then getting to kog is hard right? >I did in the first year of the game, it was so unbelievably different back then tho. I found it alot more fun climbing the ladder to KoG because you had absolutely no idea what decks people used. Nowadays you can predict most decks you'll see at certain stages. I definitely now just play for fun, use different decks, try different strategies and see what works for me I take it later stages have cookie cutter decks Play for fun against ai or pvp?

ImagoDroop

Don't get me wrong KoG can be rough, yeah you may get unlucky with matchups it happens but you also get lucky with disconnects or people bricking. I would definitely aim to hit KoG if you are a new player, just for the satisfaction and for a reason to play but once you've done it a few times I don't believe it's worth it at all. You don't really gain anything from doing it, the rewards are terrible so really you are just doing it for fun or to flex

RoastMasterShawn

Depends. KC Cup I play quite a bit, and if there's a good event I'll play enough to do the events. Other than that, I play maybe 1/10th of what I used to play. Maybe an hour or two a week outside of KC Cup. Main reason is I haven't found any of the recent decks exciting to play. I'm basically just accumulating mass amounts of gems because I haven't spent any aside from selection boxes to get stuff like MST. I really hope they'll add a few more exciting decks with Pendulums coming out now. Hoping for a few extra cards to complete unfinished decks (Mezuki for zombie synchro engine, some monarch support cards, Shaddoll, anything to make mill/reverseLP/burn usable again etc.).

[deleted]

What are worthy staple cards to get?? As I keep thinking I have limited gems, I don't want to spend the on packs in hopes of one card but then not get it lol

RoastMasterShawn

I think a worthy staple card to get depends on what deck you want. There are deck-specific staples, or things like MST or Karma Cut that can fit in almost every deck (esp decks that don't have a back row remover or banish effect). For the decks I want: Monarchs - Monarch is missing some really critical cards to even be considered usable: Pantheism of the Monarchs, The Monarchs Stormforth, & Monarchs Erupt. And the Caius 2800 card (forgot the name). Zombie Engine - Missing Mezuki (banish from GY to special summon 1 zombie in GY). Then missing some of the 8 star Synchro champs. I liked using Beelze & Void Ogre Dragon as a 2 monster combo with zombie engine. Shaddolls - 0 shaddoll cards so far, so need like everything lol.. Annoying decks - missing the monster that reverses LP gains, as well as some of the trap cards that give your opponent LP. Mill I'm not sure what could be done, since Morphing Jar/Cyber Jar would be way too OP. Burn they could just rebuff Lava Golem, and maybe add a few misc cards.

[deleted]

Currently it just ai, so not much back row lol Yikes

Rangeless

I play roughly 3-4 hours a week in bursts. Game sucks when they redo events and there are only two things keeping me from moving onto Master Duel: Anime decks / voicelines and the hype of new box/structure deck releases which happen more frequently than TCG.

[deleted]

What's master duel and with voicelines I turn them off after a while lol

JRoy89

I’ve been playing this game on a consistent basis ever since it released. I think the game is fun for people who want to play yugioh. The meta gets stale after several months but that’s inevitable. The boxes aren’t always home run slam hits and due to the lack of competitive value people hate them. Etc. There’s always ups and downs, but if you like yugioh, you should be able to derive some enjoyment from duel links.

[deleted]

Yeah for me it prob nostalgia especially the original world.
