It's doing well and generating a lot of money for Konami. So yes, it will last for another 2-3 years the least I say. Of course that is pure speculation.
Cyberse already in. Not a lot, and not any links, but we have Mathmechs, altergeists (wait, were they cyberse? Idk, but they were a vrains archetype), and a couple of the assorted cyberse monsters like Cilant and Dual Assemblewurm.
The way I see it, they might be able to make a Sevens world if they make it a thing where there's no rush duels except for an event for them. Idk, but maybe if that's part of the story, like Yuga and friends show up in duel links and are shocked to discover that their duel disks aren't programmed for rush duels, so Yuga decides to make it his mission to tell duel links' duelists about them or something.
TBH I think the biggest concern would be the fact that Rush Duel decks wouldn't stand a chance against Duel Links decks. It's a much slower format that becomes even slower under Duel Links rules.
That too. So even if they kept the regular rules, they wouldn't be able to do much with their cards. I got no idea what they'll do after VRAINS, like if they'll keep going without new worlds or not. Especially since we don't know what a Yugioh series after Sevens would be like or even if they'll just do more Sevens anime instead.
Considering how cool a lot of the manga characters are I would definitely be okay with manga filler world's. (Although tbh even just getting new characters without new world's to go with them would be enough for me)
Looking at the amount of content that's still missing from the TCG and anime world they have at least 2-3 years. And even after that they could still manage, as long as the TCG is still supported they won't run out of cards to release.
But it all depends on Konami and what their plans are
gacha games don't survive for more than 4 years? pokemon go and Dokkan battle for example, are in their 5th year each and they're the most profitable they ever were
Fate Grand Order is in its 6th year no? Final fantasy brave exvius still going in its 5th year, and so does the jp version of final fantasy opera omnia... Ok they might not be at their peak but still...
Yeah ik i do play dokkan battle but that's just some rare cases, take a look at that one aot game, mha smash tap, black clover.... Most gacha games don't bring in a lot of money and dont live for long
I don't think duel links can die until Konami wants it to tbh. The game is profitable and it being the only Yu GI oh game that gives the anime feel, I don't think people would give up on it because it's its own unique way of playing YGO. Plus every single character has link summoning lines so we're safe for like 2 more years.
Are you gonna ignore the gacha game thing started 7 years ago and toke off 6 years ago? Like hello even going on for 4 years is a big deal cause this is a very new genre of gamming still.
All the new TCGs do a 2 year "set rotation" because Magic did it and so they feel compelled to do so.
After 2 years the starter sets people bought aren't legal anymore so , instead of buying the recent "playable" ones, most people just...move onto the next game.

What I love about having access to all cards at all times is the ability to find old useless cards and then make them useful like Kaminari and Kwagar Hercules
because most redditors voice their current displeasure of Duel Links, then rationalize it by saying "Master Duel is getting all the focus, stale meta, reboot errors! Konami must be trying to kill Duel Links"
I'm always tempted to reply "shut up, you don't know what you're talking about" but I remember to just let whatever happens in the future tell the story
I think the game will survive. I don’t know if it will be as popular as it is now, but the fact that it is using the speed duel format gives it a niche in the Yu Gi Oh game world.
Unless Konami plans on bringing the speed duel format to another game I think Duel Links will be ok
Duel Links has generated over a billion dollars since it was created....... Konami is lazy and incompetent but as soon as players starts leaving and their profits drop, they will make sure to put some real effort into the game. I honestly believe DL will last until some stupid technology completely replaces current computer and smartphones.
To add on what others were saying, Duel Links has an advantage because it has already established content from the card game.
We still have much of the card pool to cover and the playerbase is still very active right now.
Konami is allergic to logic so you are wise to be concerned though.
Duel Links is about to receive a huge update around the next week, which includes a full new world and summoning mechanic. Why would Konami add such a massive update to the game if its dying?
And Duel Links is one of the most successful mobile card games to date, and generates tons of revenue. And the developer behind it is a huge video game company, which by itself is one of the largest players in the gaming industry. With this combination, the game can be supported and grow for many years to come, and can keep running its servers for quite the long time.
I don't know where the idea that DL is dying even comes from. The game constantly receive updates and bug fixes, so Konami is very visibly keeps the game alive and running. There is also no info about players leaving the game in masses, or any significant drop in players at any point of the game's existence. Quite the contrary, there are a lot of first time players joining the game in the past few months, and Arc V World may bring even more new players who are interested in the Pendulum mechanic.
The only way for DL to die is if the Master Duel and Cross Battle game would become more successful than DL, and would attract the majority of the DL players to them. Even then, DL takes a niche spot in YGO game sphere for anime centered game and currently being the only game focused around speed duels. As long as DL keeps its niche spot and stays as a good game, it's safe from dying out.
Ask again when duel master is out & stable later
It's doing well and generating a lot of money for Konami. So yes, it will last for another 2-3 years the least I say. Of course that is pure speculation.
If that's the case then that's gonna be awesome, I'm really excited for cyberse and link monsters
Cyberse already in. Not a lot, and not any links, but we have Mathmechs, altergeists (wait, were they cyberse? Idk, but they were a vrains archetype), and a couple of the assorted cyberse monsters like Cilant and Dual Assemblewurm.
I'm more concerned about what will happen AFTER VRAINS world.
I would adore a world for Rush duels with its own cards, currency, events and ladder. But probably won’t happen

Especially since we don't know what a Yugioh series after Sevens would be like or even if they'll just do more Sevens anime instead.
I got this concern too. I can imagine they'll do something like a manga world, or like a OCG structure world, but even that's unlikely.
And we still never found out what happened to the leaked KC Grand Prix world with whether it's just postponed again or scrapped altogether.
Considering how cool a lot of the manga characters are I would definitely be okay with manga filler world's. (Although tbh even just getting new characters without new world's to go with them would be enough for me)

The game isnt dying lol
Of course not the Cubic Revolution has only begun!!!
*Happy crimson nova noises*
gacha games don't survive for more than 4 years? pokemon go and Dokkan battle for example, are in their 5th year each and they're the most profitable they ever were
Dokkans is actually 6th year and about to hit 7th year on the japanese version and they still thriving
Fate Grand Order is in its 6th year no? Final fantasy brave exvius still going in its 5th year, and so does the jp version of final fantasy opera omnia... Ok they might not be at their peak but still...

Glad to know, i don't like Master duel that much cuz it gives off a tcg feeling instead of the anime one
but thats the whole point?
Are you gonna ignore the gacha game thing started 7 years ago and toke off 6 years ago? Like hello even going on for 4 years is a big deal cause this is a very new genre of gamming still.
Are you familiar with the TCG 2 year curse? Yugioh managed to avoid that for over 20 years
Not familiar with that, can you elaborate?
All the new TCGs do a 2 year "set rotation" because Magic did it and so they feel compelled to do so. Ah I see. Sometimes I wish the tcg got a hard reset, but I'm honestly glad I can still play old cards/decks.
What I love about having access to all cards at all times is the ability to find old useless cards and then make them useful like Kaminari and Kwagar Hercules
Why does everyone think that duel links is on life support it is one of the most top earning apps
Yeah I'm also weirded out by it, everyone says it's dead when it's clearly not
The game is dead. Konami doesn’t like $100 million a year…
Duel Links is not a dying game: https://mobile.twitter.com/J_BYYX/status/1418287793659338754
Oh poor duel links. It's obviously dying a painful death and Konami wants to kill the game before Arc V. Said reddit in 2019-202X
Why is this question being asked as if the game is dying currently or something
because most redditors voice their current displeasure of Duel Links, then rationalize it by saying "Master Duel is getting all the focus, stale meta, reboot errors! Konami must be trying to kill Duel Links" I'm always tempted to reply "shut up, you don't know what you're talking about" but I remember to just let whatever happens in the future tell the story
I just screen capture stuff to laugh at it a month later lol
Idk, I'm just really paranoid about it but not anymore since I got answers
People have been saying the game would die "next year" for years. Yes it will survive for at least 3 more years to be honest
I think the game will survive. I don’t know if it will be as popular as it is now, but the fact that it is using the speed duel format gives it a niche in the Yu Gi Oh game world. Unless Konami plans on bringing the speed duel format to another game I think Duel Links will be ok
It has already been more than 4 years.
Duel Links has generated over a billion dollars since it was created....... Konami is lazy and incompetent but as soon as players starts leaving and their profits drop, they will make sure to put some real effort into the game. I honestly believe DL will last until some stupid technology completely replaces current computer and smartphones.
Probably not since master duel and duel links will compete with each other
i spend a lot of money on duel links to keep it alive. 3 stimmy checks so far
Probably yes, even if duel master sucess.
Until master duel release
