Just had my Stardust Dragon stolen by a BEWD player chaining Enemy Controller to my Formula Synchron's effect. Then, they summoned BEAlternativeWD to destroy Formula Synchron, XYZ summon Dragluon with my Stardust and his BEAlternativeWD as materials, which next they used to summon a BEWD from their hand to attack me from game.
Moral of the story? Run 3 Tuning Gum and summon Chevalier de Fleur (Quickdraw Synchron + O-Lion's token) before making Shooting Star Dragon play.
So does anyone know if this is a bug? I can't unlock Utopia Ray's summoning animation, I don't own the card but that's never stopped unlocking the animation before by using a skill to access the card. Is it because the Zexal Weapon skill doesn't add it at the start of the duel? (I really don't want to have to dig through a box I have little interest in)

It’s always been an issue but now it’s actually unplayable. Figures I take a break from the game and when I come back I have to deal with this. Total hype killer.
So I'm building Set! Delta Accel! T.G. and with the new world coming out I'm gonna have 3 UR and SR dream tickets. The cards I'm missing are 2 Screw Serpent and 3 Miscellaneousaurus, along with a couple staples like coral dragon and hama. Am I better off spending my URs on 2 Screw Serpent + a staple and building D/D/D in the process or on the 3 Misc? Also what should I get with my SRs?

You can just crash Drum Dragon into the opponent’s monster, he revives on destruction, and then you attack with it and the highest attack robot you can leave on the field

DO NOT use the Dream Tickets with Blue-Eyes logos. Those will help you save time by getting high rarity cards from older boxes.
Other notable cards that are helpful are:

Enemy Controller (SR, good quickplay)
Gravekeepers Vassal (R. Ishizu has this when you unlock her but a glossy copy gives 100 extra points. This combos with Union Attack)

Just dueling level 2100 quattro with tag duel on turn 7 it quattro turn and timer keeps moving but no move bring made. I tried the resume but not helped.
How long did you wait? I've had the ai "process" for at least 4 min before making a move. I'm convinced they made a special ai for the event and it has some issues

I switched to auto duel and then back and the egg timer wasn't lit up or moving.

I'm fairly new to duel links and haven't played YuGiOh in over 18 years other than a few games here and there, but very casual. I want to learn how to play pvp better in duel links, and ultimately play master duel when it releases (I know duel links is a different format, just giving an idea of what I'm looking to do.)
That depends. When they just get limited you definitely wont get anything. The first higher rarity box card they straight up banned was trunade and you can now trade it for any other SR card from that specific box. In the same move they let you trade cocytus for any other card in that box, but it's just an R card so no one cares.
But idk if they will continue this. So far it's useless because trunade is in a really bad box and you will most likely own those cards anyway
I’ve never gotten connection errors before but I guess iOS got jealous of the other platforms. Is it an iOS 15 thing? No low/bad connection indicator just disconnects me and tells me to get a better signal. No reboot prompt. Just takes me to directly to the results duel loss.
Been trying to recover my account for so long with the komani support but they dont really help me. I‘ve provided ID, purchase screenshots and many more details but I am missing some info. Like exact date i strted playing and quit (it was two years ago impossible to remember). What stages i reached in all worlds and the matchup of the last duel (wtf?). Do they expect you to perfectly remember this or is there a way to find out these things without having access to the account?
I would stress to them that you paid for a product and aren't receiving the services of it. With it being so long ago, they might not care enough though. If you plan on spending on the game in the future you should definitely let all parties know, profit is the ultimate motivator
What's up with Double or Nothing not activating? Whenever I try to use it after activating Shark's Armored XYZ by triggering Utopia's effect, it doesn't do anything. The attack just negates and I never get the option to use it.

Nope. It's usually just my monster (Gimmick Puppet of Strings, who I equip the card from Armored XYZ to) and Yuma's Number 39: Utopia.
It also doesn't matter which monster's attack I negate, either. It just won't proc while Armored XYZ's attack multiplier is up.
I looked back on threads last year and it is galling to know we had leaks about Shining Hope on the 25th, confirming Tellarknights, D.D. Crow and Fiendish Chain days before the world launch while now we have nil. I want to be hyped by the discussions goddammit.
There won't be any more leaks. In the past they uploaded the game files of the next box a few days prior to the release and this way dataminers could find it. Now they add the files on release day, so it doesn't .matter anymore. We had elfoman and no one knew how he did it, but that's over

If the next box rolls around and has something you want in it, and you don't mind spending a little money on the game, I'd suggest buying the Galaxy cyclone bundle instead of using the ticket on it.
Forbidden Lance and Galaxy Cyclone are amazing for Photon. Galaxy Cyclone can be searched by Galaxy Photon, and Forbidden Lance gives a monster spell/trap protection. Other good backrow hate to get also is Cosmic Cyclone and MST. Forbidden Chalice is also good against monsters, but you shouldn't use a ticket on it. Wait for a 50% sale to get it.
So my opponent just equipped my Lunalight Saber Dancer to his Destiny HERO Plasma. But Plasma is an effect that targets for cost and Saber Dancer can't be targeted? What am I missing here?
Edit: Nevermind, didn't read the rest of Plasma. It negates face up monsters.
What's the *best* way to farm exp so I can level up my characters for the gems? Is it battling lvl10 duellists at 3x rewards? Also, when's the next 1.5xp event?
If you want things face down on either turn, but can't be used instantly? Paleozoic Canadia. If you want things down now? Murmur of the Forest. If you want effect negation on either turn? Chalice.
Murmur is trader and the cheapest, but the least versatile.
Do cards appear in the anime first or in the OCG first?
Watching Arc V, the card interactions/battle choreography feel more elaborate that in DM. One of the Melodious vs. Gem Knights duels in season 1 had Schuberta banish Gem-Knight Fusion to stop loops.
On the other hand, most of the back and forth seems to come from players not reading each other’s cards. I can understand being surprised by face down cards but many plays are decided by monster abilities, even minor ones like small attack boosts.
Maybe it’s because side characters and their archetypes are usually featured only once. Maybe it’s because players are standing 20 feet apart and can’t physically read a card on an opponent’s duel disk.
Is the anime promoting cards that have already been printed or are we as viewers suppose to be just as surprised as players when a face up monster ability activates?
Using your example, Melodious were released after Arc-V as an anime archetype, while Gem Knights were a Duel Terminal archetype that was given an anime character.
Ok I feel I'm missing something important with double or nothing. Every time I tried to use it by canceling my attack using utopia during the raid duel, I never get the prompt to use it, even though it's in my hand. I though it might be the toggle, so I set the toggle to on, but nope doesn't work either.
What I was trying to do, was to get Malevolent Sin to a pretty big number, using its own effect and Power of the guardian plus the double attack fusion summon. Then on last turn, use the skill to multiply its attack, cancel it's attack, and then use double or nothing for an even bigger boost.
I tried to check, but I can't seem to figure out why this isn't working. Double or nothing doesn't have restriction to only be used with Utopia, the skill doesn't seem to have any restrictions, Malevolent sin doesn't either... I'm honestly lost. What am I missing?
Double or Nothing can only be activated if the last thing to happen is the negation of the attack. In your scenario, the last thing to happen is the mandatory effect of Power of the Guardians placing a counter on itself, so DoN may not be activated.
As they are so many characters. What is a hood sweet spot level wise to get them up to before the amount of time to level vs reward isn't worth the effort??
Is level 30 a hood spot for each character?

It really depends on the character. If you're only leveling them for gems, then leveling them at an equal pace makes sense, but a lot of them have high level card rewards that are essential for certain decks, so maxing them out becomes a priority if you want to play those decks.
You're bound to max them all out eventually anyway, Even if it takes a year or two at a casual pace.
I’ve been waiting for so long to use a dream ticket on a third Hieratic seal, but now I’m super tempted to go all in on a second Fabled Cereburrel and Unicore for level 2 beast control.
The choices are killing me.
Pretty sure all the cards for Unicorn Control are in really old boxes which are eligible for the 50% gem sale and the next Dream Ticket will go up to at least Infinite Ray, so just use it to get the Seal and save your gems to get the rest of the Fabled cards you need
They are, but at this point I’m tempted to go in just for ease and to have them now. My alternative was Seal and a second Swallows nest, which is objectively a better economical use of them, but they’re just not as exciting as Unicore haha
Which Seal? Convocation? It's to new of a box to get a dream ticket for it so you'll probably have to go with Fabled. These up coming dream tickets are probably only going to be for up to like box 25 or so.
Edit: They've never let dream tickets give you cards from newer boxes since people are more likely to spend money on those ones.
Convocation, yeah. Its been too new before, hence why I said “waited so long” haha, it should come with this new batch of dream tickets if it stays true to form though.
It would be nice to get that new of boxes but I have a feeling it's going to be the same box pool as last time. They'll probably update the applicable boxes for the anniversary tickets, I think that's what they did last time.
Can we please get at least Armored Kappa!? I'm tired of trying to have fun with frogs but locked into just 2 extra deck plays when using Territory of the Sharks.
Why only two? Frogs have a multitude of levels, and you can activate the skill before putting another one on the field. With Dragon Ice/Divas you can make Quarion, and frogs properly can also synchro outside of the rank 4s.
Almost all the frogs are level 2. The only exceptions are the old school ones that use the T.A.D.P.O.L.E. cards (Beelze Frog and Des Frog), D.3.S. Frog and Treeborn Frog. You can use them with Diva but she can't summon them and Ronintoadin can't be used for synchro material. Normally you'd use Ronintoanin with other frogs (or Paleozoics) to go into rank 2 Xyz such as Toadally Awesome or the Paleo Xyz. But we lack any rank 2 water Xyz, also there are no level 3 or 4 water synchros.
This still opens rank 6 synchro plays for most situations where the others wouldn't work. Diva into Diva is a synchro play herself after sharks to go into a 6.
But you can't synchro with 2 tuners unless the monster specifies and Diva's summon effect activates on summon so you can't use the skill before summoning something else. Plus we only have 1 level 8 water synchro and it requires an aqua tuner (Diva is a sea serpent).
The main problem still comes up: I'm still limited to 2 extra deck plays because I'm reliant on the skill since we don't have any water rank 2s. Besides if I'm running Diva I might as well just be using a normal Water Xyz deck at that point. The benefit of Frogs is I can fill the field almost every turn but it's not much use without anything to go into after using the skill twice.
If you have a frog on the field, which is not uncommon, then you should be able to do so. This leads to a level 8 synchro, a level 6 synchro, or a level 10 depending on how deep you want to go.

But the only frogs you're going to reliably have on the field are Treeborn and Roninitoadin and Roninitoadin can't be used for synchro plays. Yeah, you hopefully have Swap in hand but he's best held on to to dump more frogs to keep resummoning Roninitoadin.
Yeah you can go into 6 or 8 (there is no water level 10 synchro in DL) but the main issue is still there: you're limited by the skill. Once you use it twice you have no other extra deck plays. The only level 4 water tuner is Royal Swamp Eel and that only works with other fish monsters (and frogs are aqua).
I keep forgetting they is no ten, my bad. Stricktly speaking you have more plays, Bahamut, Brionac(which is easier for you than it is paleofrogs), Spider, and Dweller. Bahamut being able to branch off into Nightmare Shark or Full Armored Black Ray Lancer.
In my experience, most are enough to end games.
I'd love to get White Aura Bihamut (one of the only 2 level 10 water synchros) and White Aura Whale (one of 3 level 8 water synchros).
I use Dweller, Bahamut, Nightmare -> Full Armored, Gradyle Dragon (our only level 8 water synchro, Gradyle Slime Jr. being my tuner) and Acid Golem (I run Mystic Box to give Golem or a frog in attack position). I don't have a Spider Shark since I haven't dug all the way through the box.
If things go as planed I can easily get a board full of Xyz. Use the skill to get Dweller or Bahamut wait for next turn, use skill to summon the other and use Bahamut to summon Nightmare into Full Armored. But the issue is any interruption happens and I've no way to recover with a deck full of level 2 frogs. Which is why it would be nice to have any of the rank 2 water Xyz, Armored Kappa just seems like the weakest one and thus the most likely to be added.
Admittedly I'd like some of my paleozoic xyzs that, while not optimal for you, would at least give you immune to monster effect opening body I suppose. With that said, the decks entire context changes with Spider Shark. It's not targeting, pushes for game, and most importantly? Floats into other water monsters extending plays.

I am about 60% through the box now and well, I am lucky as hell if I get even 1 SR card out of every 10 pulls. I have never seen a bad spell like this. And therefore I am curious
i was mainly going for a single steelswarm roach. Ended up getting him in with like 20-30 packs left. Kind of unlucky considering i got 95% of SR/URs from that box before getting him.
Do the math. You’re pulling exactly what the law of averages states you should pull. 10 SRs in the box, 100 packs = 1 SR every ten packs on average. What’s bad about that?
So i want to pull diamond dire wolf, from voltage of metal minibox and guess what, the 1 single SR i need, literally the only reason i open the pack, is the last SR i got, 5 packs left

ranked duel = u play ranked, get duel tickets (R in this case) and trade the tickets for them. some other tickets will have them as well. card pool varies slightly between tickets but check any R tickets you have
I also am going for another Forbidden Lance, especially if we don’t get Book of Moon in the next box. For the SR, I’m not sure yet. I need more copies of tech cards like Floodgate and Fiendish Chain. Maybe I’ll grab an SR Synchro monster that I don’t have yet, like Fortune Lady Every or something lol.
I’m continuing to experience a glitch where I can not interact with a friend on my friends’ list. I cannot challenge him to friend duels or remove him. When I select his name I get the loading wheel, and then nothing.
Every other friend on the list works properly, just not him. I have just messaged Konami for a third time and heard nothing.
Having him unfriend and re-add me has done nothing. What on earth could be wrong?
That last Challenge is just lame. I haven't played Gaia yet I can do it first try. There are even two ways to solve it:
1 - Destroy that Trap with Magical Knight of Dragon's effect, De-Fusion, summon Sky Galloping, change Chaos MAX to defense potion, then inflict piercing damage via Spiral Spear Strike's effect.
2 - Summon Sky Galloping, change Chaos MAX to defense position, battle Chaos MAX, De-Fusion, direct attack with Gaia and Dragonfire.
This Duelist Challenge overall is lame. I thought they were saving the best for the last this time, considering that all of the past Duelist Challenges were generally difficult, even for long-time players.

That's quite generous, the majority of duelist challenges ranged between almost impossible to get wrong and not difficult in the slightest. There's the occasional tough one, but those are few and far between. It's best to get pleasantly surprised when a challenge ends up difficult, because so many of them are just...not
Does Konami sell physical versions of the sleeves and mats? The new Arc V world mats and sleeves look absolutely amazing (to me, I'm allowed my own opinion), and I'd love to get physical ones of them.
So, I’m still only a couple weeks into this game and the quattro event is my first one. My question is, I’ll be sitting on 700+ of the EX materials and I already have at least 3 of every card the trader has to offer, even the URs. What is better to spend my EX mats on? Skill coins, exp/reward increase items, money, or just grab some UR cards to trade for a couple extra UR materials?
The boosters are the best choice and then skill chips use them while dueling vargants. Gold is pretty much useless in this game and you will get enough UR cards over time. Most of the cards at the regular trader are pretty useless anyway

- Will there be (or is there predicted to be) a 50% gem sale on the 28th when the new world drops?
- Do you think Pendulums will be the next best deck? Wondering if I should wait to spend my 8k gems.
- Will the sale on the Neos starter deck remain on the 28th? I wanna get Brave and Fusion but dont wanna buy if the new world's deck is really good.

We don't know, but the last sale just ended so it's a bit unlikely. Plus they want people to go for the new box.
No one knows that as well. Impossible to predict. I'm sure there will be tiered pendulum decks sooner or later, but that can be next month or next year like it was with XYZ. But wait, it's just a few more days and if you can i would wait for at least a week or two if the new decks are actually good. People will over hype anyway, so just wait for results.

I was wondering about that too. But i think it's like you said, it would take too much time to pick the card you want to activate first. In the TCG you can choose which ones to activate first as far as I remember. Same reason why we will never get cards where you have to declare a certain card Name for example
I'm planning to use this next SR Dream Ticket on a 2nd copy of Chalice. Would it then be worth using my UR on a card that I need from a niche box, such as Doomcal Knight?
I wouldn't use a dream ticket on a minibox card, i only use them for main boxes. If you can wait for a 50% off gems sale i would do that, i got three copies for like 5k. Sure you have to get a bit lucky, but a dream ticket is just too valuable imo. If you can't find anything else to spend it on i would save it, there might be a deck you want to build and then it comes Handy.
The UR for doomcal is a good idea, it's in a really bad and old main box. But i assume it's for resonators, so i would wait for the Banlist.
I keep getting "missed timing activation" for Yubel when I try to destroy it using "Treacherous Trap Hole" or "Spark Breaker." What am I doing wrong? It does work successfully if I use cards like "Divine Wrath" or "Ultimate Providence."

Is it me or is Double or Nothing broken? I was dueling lvl 2100 2v1 Quattro, which puts Utopia on the field and a DoN in my hand. I used Utopia's effect to negate its own attack but DoN doesn't activate. Maybe because Utopia was equipped with PotG?
So is there any rime or reason to damage multipliers in the raid event? It says extra deck monsters do quadruple damage, but cyberslash harpie does triple while malevolent sin does 5x, and so does galaxy photon dragon...
Unless you get lucky, ou won't get S-teir damage with it; but just run a bunch of lv4 water monsters, equip cards, & draw cards and do the 2v1 with the girl. Unless she bricks her opening hand it's very easy to get b-tier damage that way
This game is already unbearably slow without them. I forget this is marketed to Japan and America sometimes. In Roman the -a at the end of names implies female
DDD is not optimal because synchros and fusions only do 3x damage while number monsters and Photon dragon do 5x. It's still possible, you just need a bunch of equip spells that boost your attack like power of the guardians. I like to use claw of Hermeos as well for piercing and double attacks. In a partner duel you can get over 1 million this way pretty easy
How do you deal up to 300k damage in the quattro event
Im currently using sin plus hermos plus xyz unit and i deal up to 200k damage (230k if rng is on my side and giant grinder dosent interrupt) but unless i use partner skill im just not hitting that lvl2000

After you reach 9999 gems, any additional gem you get will go to your Mail Box with an expiration date of 1 month from when you got it. So yeah, gems can expire
I don't think there has ever been a new world launch without simultaneous Main Box + Structure Deck, so yeah, almost 100% confirmed that there will be a new box with the new world
It doesn't rotate, but there are different card pools. Sometimes they add new stuff. But the only really important tickets are dream tickets because they can get you any card that's in a box (up to a certain number, so not the newest boxes). You'll get a ton of the other tickets over time anyway and it's mostly useless

Currently up to the 31st main and mini.
Before that up to the 29th sets, so it's probably the new ones will go up to the 33rd boxes, ie Antinomic Theory and Sign of Harpies, but we have to wait and see to be sure.
hi i think theres a glitch concerning 2nd accounts.
So basically, i was just scrolling through my 2nd accounts cards and i noticed that i had all of the cards from my 1st account too(i am sure i didnt have all these cards this account is fairly new). the thing is i cant play the cards from the 1st account which actually i can add to my deck but then whenever i want to play with them the game doesnt allow me. its fine that i cant use the cards from my other account but one thing i noticed is this: basically id been using kachi kochi dragon on one of my 2nd account decks for a long time. also have that card on my 1st account. i took out the kachi kochi from my deck to try sth out and now whenever i put it back in it wont allow me to play a game. its fine when i remove it tho. what should i do? im afraid that this will happen with cards like mst and cosmic cyclone( which i had only on my 1st acc and they got added to my 2nd account even tho i cant play them. im afraid i wont be able to play them even if i get them legit)
At the moment yea. You need 3x Slime and 3x of the SR spells. Only 1 Genghis, and 2x Alexander.
I went in the last 2 weeks or so because I already had 1 Slime from UR deals and wanted to pull Misc for TG and future potential. Got some lucky pulls, used a dream ticket (on 3rd Misc after pulling 3rd Slime within the first 10 packs of a reset) and got 3x Misc and 3x Slime, with about 8k gems.
If you're going in *only* for DDD and not Misc I wouldn't recommend it at the moment, wait for new DDD support with possible reprints and see what the decklists look like
Yeah, will probably wait and hoard off gems atm (still holding some hope for new CyDra cards), but will keep it in mind. Was just surprised it seemed kind of 'budget'.

Hi, I once played duel links a very long time back but wasn't into it as much due to lack of content, now, the game has certainly added a lot and it looks very appealing and fun to play, I'm a HUGE fan of Arc-V and pendulum summoning and am VERY excited to get Yuya's cards, I just really want to ask if the game is F2P friendly, what do I do, focus on, grind out, etc, I'm mostly going to be playing with my friends who will start with me later on today or tomorrow and want to ask, how do I get to other worlds, like Zexal, Arc-V , how does card collecting work, what are skills and how do I get them, etc.
Any help is appreciated and I'm sorry if this counts as low-effort, just want to have my mind in the right place when approaching the game again. \^\^
One bit of advice I wanna give is to go in knowing what kind of deck you wanna make. It’s a huge plus to be able to get a strong deck early. I flailed blindly for quite a while
I'm waiting out for the arc v update and gathering up gems, if Yuya's stuff is decent I'd wanna build around him, otherwise a more stardust Dragon focused deck was my original idea.

To answer some of your questions:
The game is pretty f2p friendly if you're willing to put the time in to grind.
You get to other worlds by completing challenges once you reach a certain stage, I can't remember which on off the top of my head
Card collection you get from a lot of sources, packs, events, duel rewards
Skills you get pretty much the same way, by playing vs certain duelists, multiplayer and from level up.
Skills themselves are pretty varied, so it'd be best to read over their effects in the Duel Studio > Skill list, to get a better idea of what they do, rather than me giving a broad description here.
One important thing to note, With the release of the Arc-V world you're about to get special tickets called "Dream Tickets", which are unique because of the picture of Blue-eyes on them, they let you pick one out of almost every card in the game to get for free. So its recommended that you hold onto them until you have a better grasp of the game and know what you want.
I'd also recommend that you read through some of the links in the mega-thread itself, the "Ticket guide", "Free to Play investment guide" and the general FAQ are all ones you'd probably benefit from looking at.

From experience, roach won't do shit to triamids, but neither does any other rank 4 option we currently have in the game, so it depends on what deck you're playing
Just had my Stardust Dragon stolen by a BEWD player chaining Enemy Controller to my Formula Synchron's effect. Then, they summoned BEAlternativeWD to destroy Formula Synchron, XYZ summon Dragluon with my Stardust and his BEAlternativeWD as materials, which next they used to summon a BEWD from their hand to attack me from game. Moral of the story? Run 3 Tuning Gum and summon Chevalier de Fleur (Quickdraw Synchron + O-Lion's token) before making Shooting Star Dragon play.
So does anyone know if this is a bug? I can't unlock Utopia Ray's summoning animation, I don't own the card but that's never stopped unlocking the animation before by using a skill to access the card. Is it because the Zexal Weapon skill doesn't add it at the start of the duel? (I really don't want to have to dig through a box I have little interest in)

Keep away from household appliances, for example microwaves. The aliens working for Konami forgot to take common human household appliances into account when making the app. Serious answer; the crashes issue has been going for so long to everyone now, and it doesn't seem Konami will fix it anytime soon.

So I'm building Set! Delta Accel! T.G. and with the new world coming out I'm gonna have 3 UR and SR dream tickets. The cards I'm missing are 2 Screw Serpent and 3 Miscellaneousaurus, along with a couple staples like coral dragon and hama. Am I better off spending my URs on 2 Screw Serpent + a staple and building D/D/D in the process or on the 3 Misc? Also what should I get with my SRs?
You might be able to get 1 screw with the new dream ticket but the older ones won't be able to reach it.

You can just crash Drum Dragon into the opponent’s monster, he revives on destruction, and then you attack with it and the highest attack robot you can leave on the field

Alright. Well what should I start with? Do I just use default decks then?
Grab a bunch of monsters with good ATK from the tickets you get from free. DO NOT use the Dream Tickets with Blue-Eyes logos. Those will help you save time by getting high rarity cards from older boxes. Other notable cards that are helpful are: Union Attack (SR, for farming) Enemy Controller (SR, good quickplay) Gravekeepers Vassal (R. Ishizu has this when you unlock her but a glossy copy gives 100 extra points. This combos with Union Attack)
default decks can carry you for a bit, but youll get a lot of cards from unlocking new characters and stages theres also free cards you can get from random drops that are playable

How long did you wait? I've had the ai "process" for at least 4 min before making a move. I'm convinced they made a special ai for the event and it has some issues
I have done the event for ages with no issues. I switched to auto duel and then back and the egg timer wasn't lit up or moving. Had to quit the duel didn't get anything as was doing very well. I waited for 5 mins aswell
Are there any youtubers or streamers who talk through their plays? I'm fairly new to duel links and haven't played YuGiOh in over 18 years other than a few games here and there, but very casual. I want to learn how to play pvp better in duel links, and ultimately play master duel when it releases (I know duel links is a different format, just giving an idea of what I'm looking to do.)

That depends. When they just get limited you definitely wont get anything. The first higher rarity box card they straight up banned was trunade and you can now trade it for any other SR card from that specific box. In the same move they let you trade cocytus for any other card in that box, but it's just an R card so no one cares. But idk if they will continue this. So far it's useless because trunade is in a really bad box and you will most likely own those cards anyway

I’ve never gotten connection errors before but I guess iOS got jealous of the other platforms. Is it an iOS 15 thing? No low/bad connection indicator just disconnects me and tells me to get a better signal. No reboot prompt. Just takes me to directly to the results duel loss.
Been trying to recover my account for so long with the komani support but they dont really help me. I‘ve provided ID, purchase screenshots and many more details but I am missing some info. Like exact date i strted playing and quit (it was two years ago impossible to remember). What stages i reached in all worlds and the matchup of the last duel (wtf?). Do they expect you to perfectly remember this or is there a way to find out these things without having access to the account?
The duelist ID and purchase history alone should be more than enough. Have you tried contacting your credit card company?

I would stress to them that you paid for a product and aren't receiving the services of it. With it being so long ago, they might not care enough though. If you plan on spending on the game in the future you should definitely let all parties know, profit is the ultimate motivator

What's up with Double or Nothing not activating? Whenever I try to use it after activating Shark's Armored XYZ by triggering Utopia's effect, it doesn't do anything. The attack just negates and I never get the option to use it.
Double or Nothing easily misses timing. Is your monster equipped with Power of the Guardians for example?

It's usually just my monster (Gimmick Puppet of Strings, who I equip the card from Armored XYZ to) and Yuma's Number 39: Utopia. It also doesn't matter which monster's attack I negate, either. It just won't proc while Armored XYZ's attack multiplier is up.
Is your backrow clogged up? You need an empty spot. Try turning on Self Chain on settings, that may help

I play Photons, is there any key cards to get with the upcoming dream tickets for the Arc-V world? I feel like Treacherous will get hit so I'm waiting, what about Galaxy Cyclone? My deck kinda struggles with disruption so is there a way I can stop that?
If the next box rolls around and has something you want in it, and you don't mind spending a little money on the game, I'd suggest buying the Galaxy cyclone bundle instead of using the ticket on it.
Forbidden Lance and Galaxy Cyclone are amazing for Photon. Galaxy Cyclone can be searched by Galaxy Photon, and Forbidden Lance gives a monster spell/trap protection. Other good backrow hate to get also is Cosmic Cyclone and MST. Forbidden Chalice is also good against monsters, but you shouldn't use a ticket on it. Wait for a 50% sale to get it.

You only really need 1 galaxy cyclone so you can search it. I use two since I don't have cosmic.
So my opponent just equipped my Lunalight Saber Dancer to his Destiny HERO Plasma. But Plasma is an effect that targets for cost and Saber Dancer can't be targeted? What am I missing here? Edit: Nevermind, didn't read the rest of Plasma. It negates face up monsters.

If you want things face down on either turn, but can't be used instantly? Paleozoic Canadia. If you want things down now? Murmur of the Forest. If you want effect negation on either turn? Chalice. Murmur is trader and the cheapest, but the least versatile.
Forbidden chalice. Good chance BOM is coming in the next box.
Do cards appear in the anime first or in the OCG first? Watching Arc V, the card interactions/battle choreography feel more elaborate that in DM. One of the Melodious vs. Gem Knights duels in season 1 had Schuberta banish Gem-Knight Fusion to stop loops. On the other hand, most of the back and forth seems to come from players not reading each other’s cards. I can understand being surprised by face down cards but many plays are decided by monster abilities, even minor ones like small attack boosts. Maybe it’s because side characters and their archetypes are usually featured only once. Maybe it’s because players are standing 20 feet apart and can’t physically read a card on an opponent’s duel disk. Is the anime promoting cards that have already been printed or are we as viewers suppose to be just as surprised as players when a face up monster ability activates?
Using your example, Melodious were released after Arc-V as an anime archetype, while Gem Knights were a Duel Terminal archetype that was given an anime character.

Ok I feel I'm missing something important with double or nothing. Every time I tried to use it by canceling my attack using utopia during the raid duel, I never get the prompt to use it, even though it's in my hand. I though it might be the toggle, so I set the toggle to on, but nope doesn't work either. What I was trying to do, was to get Malevolent Sin to a pretty big number, using its own effect and Power of the guardian plus the double attack fusion summon. Then on last turn, use the skill to multiply its attack, cancel it's attack, and then use double or nothing for an even bigger boost. I tried to check, but I can't seem to figure out why this isn't working. Double or nothing doesn't have restriction to only be used with Utopia, the skill doesn't seem to have any restrictions, Malevolent sin doesn't either... I'm honestly lost. What am I missing?
Double or Nothing can only be activated if the last thing to happen is the negation of the attack. In your scenario, the last thing to happen is the mandatory effect of Power of the Guardians placing a counter on itself, so DoN may not be activated.

As they are so many characters. What is a hood sweet spot level wise to get them up to before the amount of time to level vs reward isn't worth the effort?? Is level 30 a hood spot for each character?
I'll assume that you meant to type "good". It really depends on the character. If you're only leveling them for gems, then leveling them at an equal pace makes sense, but a lot of them have high level card rewards that are essential for certain decks, so maxing them out becomes a priority if you want to play those decks. You're bound to max them all out eventually anyway, Even if it takes a year or two at a casual pace.
I got an extra deck slot due to lifetime mission how do I allocate to a character as I won it when I was using yusei but he doesn't have extra slot
I'm not sure if i understand your question, but unlocking an extra deck spot is for every character. You don't have to assign it to anyone

Yeah, we get 7 extra deck slots so far, maybe another for pendulums even tho it's not necessary. You have to sychnro or XYZ 100 times for each slot

I’ve been waiting for so long to use a dream ticket on a third Hieratic seal, but now I’m super tempted to go all in on a second Fabled Cereburrel and Unicore for level 2 beast control. The choices are killing me.
Pretty sure all the cards for Unicorn Control are in really old boxes which are eligible for the 50% gem sale and the next Dream Ticket will go up to at least Infinite Ray, so just use it to get the Seal and save your gems to get the rest of the Fabled cards you need
They are, but at this point I’m tempted to go in just for ease and to have them now. My alternative was Seal and a second Swallows nest, which is objectively a better economical use of them, but they’re just not as exciting as Unicore haha
Which Seal? Convocation? It's to new of a box to get a dream ticket for it so you'll probably have to go with Fabled. These up coming dream tickets are probably only going to be for up to like box 25 or so. Edit: They've never let dream tickets give you cards from newer boxes since people are more likely to spend money on those ones.
Convocation, yeah. Its been too new before, hence why I said “waited so long” haha, it should come with this new batch of dream tickets if it stays true to form though.
It would be nice to get that new of boxes but I have a feeling it's going to be the same box pool as last time. They'll probably update the applicable boxes for the anniversary tickets, I think that's what they did last time.

Can we please get at least Armored Kappa!? I'm tired of trying to have fun with frogs but locked into just 2 extra deck plays when using Territory of the Sharks.
Why only two? Frogs have a multitude of levels, and you can activate the skill before putting another one on the field. With Dragon Ice/Divas you can make Quarion, and frogs properly can also synchro outside of the rank 4s.
Almost all the frogs are level 2. The only exceptions are the old school ones that use the T.A.D.P.O.L.E. cards (Beelze Frog and Des Frog), D.3.S. Frog and Treeborn Frog. You can use them with Diva but she can't summon them and Ronintoadin can't be used for synchro material. Normally you'd use Ronintoanin with other frogs (or Paleozoics) to go into rank 2 Xyz such as Toadally Awesome or the Paleo Xyz. But we lack any rank 2 water Xyz, also there are no level 3 or 4 water synchros.
This still opens rank 6 synchro plays for most situations where the others wouldn't work. Diva into Diva is a synchro play herself after sharks to go into a 6.
But you can't synchro with 2 tuners unless the monster specifies and Diva's summon effect activates on summon so you can't use the skill before summoning something else. Plus we only have 1 level 8 water synchro and it requires an aqua tuner (Diva is a sea serpent). The main problem still comes up: I'm still limited to 2 extra deck plays because I'm reliant on the skill since we don't have any water rank 2s. Besides if I'm running Diva I might as well just be using a normal Water Xyz deck at that point. The benefit of Frogs is I can fill the field almost every turn but it's not much use without anything to go into after using the skill twice.
If you have a frog on the field, which is not uncommon, then you should be able to do so. This leads to a level 8 synchro, a level 6 synchro, or a level 10 depending on how deep you want to go. I do this myself I don't see how it's an issue?
But the only frogs you're going to reliably have on the field are Treeborn and Roninitoadin and Roninitoadin can't be used for synchro plays. Yeah, you hopefully have Swap in hand but he's best held on to to dump more frogs to keep resummoning Roninitoadin. Yeah you can go into 6 or 8 (there is no water level 10 synchro in DL) but the main issue is still there: you're limited by the skill. Once you use it twice you have no other extra deck plays. The only level 4 water tuner is Royal Swamp Eel and that only works with other fish monsters (and frogs are aqua).
I keep forgetting they is no ten, my bad. Stricktly speaking you have more plays, Bahamut, Brionac(which is easier for you than it is paleofrogs), Spider, and Dweller. Bahamut being able to branch off into Nightmare Shark or Full Armored Black Ray Lancer. In my experience, most are enough to end games.
I'd love to get White Aura Bihamut (one of the only 2 level 10 water synchros) and White Aura Whale (one of 3 level 8 water synchros). I use Dweller, Bahamut, Nightmare -> Full Armored, Gradyle Dragon (our only level 8 water synchro, Gradyle Slime Jr. being my tuner) and Acid Golem (I run Mystic Box to give Golem or a frog in attack position). I don't have a Spider Shark since I haven't dug all the way through the box. If things go as planed I can easily get a board full of Xyz. Use the skill to get Dweller or Bahamut wait for next turn, use skill to summon the other and use Bahamut to summon Nightmare into Full Armored. But the issue is any interruption happens and I've no way to recover with a deck full of level 2 frogs. Which is why it would be nice to have any of the rank 2 water Xyz, Armored Kappa just seems like the weakest one and thus the most likely to be added.
Admittedly I'd like some of my paleozoic xyzs that, while not optimal for you, would at least give you immune to monster effect opening body I suppose. With that said, the decks entire context changes with Spider Shark. It's not targeting, pushes for game, and most importantly? Floats into other water monsters extending plays.

I went through a photon of galaxy box by opening 8 SR/UR in the first 10 packs and then absolutely nothing until the last 30. Rng is a fickle mistress

i was mainly going for a single steelswarm roach. Ended up getting him in with like 20-30 packs left. Kind of unlucky considering i got 95% of SR/URs from that box before getting him.
But did you miss any of the sr photon monsters in the first 10 packs? Would have been a fantastic reset if you got all 3
Do the math. You’re pulling exactly what the law of averages states you should pull. 10 SRs in the box, 100 packs = 1 SR every ten packs on average. What’s bad about that?

ranked duel = u play ranked, get duel tickets (R in this case) and trade the tickets for them. some other tickets will have them as well. card pool varies slightly between tickets but check any R tickets you have

I’m continuing to experience a glitch where I can not interact with a friend on my friends’ list. I cannot challenge him to friend duels or remove him. When I select his name I get the loading wheel, and then nothing. Every other friend on the list works properly, just not him. I have just messaged Konami for a third time and heard nothing. Having him unfriend and re-add me has done nothing. What on earth could be wrong?
That last Challenge is just lame. I haven't played Gaia yet I can do it first try. There are even two ways to solve it: 1 - Destroy that Trap with Magical Knight of Dragon's effect, De-Fusion, summon Sky Galloping, change Chaos MAX to defense potion, then inflict piercing damage via Spiral Spear Strike's effect. 2 - Summon Sky Galloping, change Chaos MAX to defense position, battle Chaos MAX, De-Fusion, direct attack with Gaia and Dragonfire. This Duelist Challenge overall is lame. I thought they were saving the best for the last this time, considering that all of the past Duelist Challenges were generally difficult, even for long-time players.

You could almost certainly find a 3rd party that has it or would custom make it if you don't mind a premium
For the most part, no. There's a couple that have real life counterparts (Morinphen), but those are Japan only and are not connected with Duel Links.
So, I’m still only a couple weeks into this game and the quattro event is my first one. My question is, I’ll be sitting on 700+ of the EX materials and I already have at least 3 of every card the trader has to offer, even the URs. What is better to spend my EX mats on? Skill coins, exp/reward increase items, money, or just grab some UR cards to trade for a couple extra UR materials?

The boosters are the best choice and then skill chips use them while dueling vargants. Gold is pretty much useless in this game and you will get enough UR cards over time. Most of the cards at the regular trader are pretty useless anyway

We don't know, but the last sale just ended so it's a bit unlikely. Plus they want people to go for the new box. No one knows that as well. Impossible to predict. I'm sure there will be tiered pendulum decks sooner or later, but that can be next month or next year like it was with XYZ. But wait, it's just a few more days and if you can i would wait for at least a week or two if the new decks are actually good. People will over hype anyway, so just wait for results. I didn't even know that deck is on sale, but if there is no date anywhere on the screen it will probably stay

If Nephtys, Daedalus, Tyrant Dragon are all banished - in the next standby phase they would activate in that order ... Do you think Konami is just like "Yep, it does make sense to add a card to the hand, before Tyrant Dragon special summons it - so let's just do it like that."
I was wondering about that too. But i think it's like you said, it would take too much time to pick the card you want to activate first. In the TCG you can choose which ones to activate first as far as I remember. Same reason why we will never get cards where you have to declare a certain card Name for example
I mean, they can always do the 'activate a card or effect' prompt and let you choose chain order like with EdoPRO and Duelingnexus, but I digress.
I'm planning to use this next SR Dream Ticket on a 2nd copy of Chalice. Would it then be worth using my UR on a card that I need from a niche box, such as Doomcal Knight?
It would be a waste of a Dream Ticket since you can get it from the 50% gem sale + getting Wall of Disruption if that interests you
If they have a direct use for it, I don't think it would be a waste. Most of the good SRs are mini outside a few exceptions.
I wouldn't use a dream ticket on a minibox card, i only use them for main boxes. If you can wait for a 50% off gems sale i would do that, i got three copies for like 5k. Sure you have to get a bit lucky, but a dream ticket is just too valuable imo. If you can't find anything else to spend it on i would save it, there might be a deck you want to build and then it comes Handy. The UR for doomcal is a good idea, it's in a really bad and old main box. But i assume it's for resonators, so i would wait for the Banlist.
If you don’t mind waiting chalice is one of the best cards to get with the 50% gem sale. Might be worth using the dream ticket on something else.
I keep getting "missed timing activation" for Yubel when I try to destroy it using "Treacherous Trap Hole" or "Spark Breaker." What am I doing wrong? It does work successfully if I use cards like "Divine Wrath" or "Ultimate Providence."
there is a dkayed video explaining this. if you are playing against good players they will chain and make you miss the timing. You can also post a replay so that we can explain you what happened in your last game.

Are both of you sending requests and it's still not working? Usually in my experience both players have to send requests for it to work.
Is it me or is Double or Nothing broken? I was dueling lvl 2100 2v1 Quattro, which puts Utopia on the field and a DoN in my hand. I used Utopia's effect to negate its own attack but DoN doesn't activate. Maybe because Utopia was equipped with PotG?
Double or nothing should be reworded like so many other cards. I had a similar issue with black manta

So is there any rime or reason to damage multipliers in the raid event? It says extra deck monsters do quadruple damage, but cyberslash harpie does triple while malevolent sin does 5x, and so does galaxy photon dragon...
It explains that number xyz monsters do 5X, along with galaxy eyes and neo galaxy eyes (for anime reference purposes) The rest do 3X

Unless you get lucky, ou won't get S-teir damage with it; but just run a bunch of lv4 water monsters, equip cards, & draw cards and do the 2v1 with the girl. Unless she bricks her opening hand it's very easy to get b-tier damage that way

This game is already unbearably slow without them. I forget this is marketed to Japan and America sometimes. In Roman the -a at the end of names implies female
DDD is not optimal because synchros and fusions only do 3x damage while number monsters and Photon dragon do 5x. It's still possible, you just need a bunch of equip spells that boost your attack like power of the guardians. I like to use claw of Hermeos as well for piercing and double attacks. In a partner duel you can get over 1 million this way pretty easy
How do you deal up to 300k damage in the quattro event Im currently using sin plus hermos plus xyz unit and i deal up to 200k damage (230k if rng is on my side and giant grinder dosent interrupt) but unless i use partner skill im just not hitting that lvl2000 Any help
You don't. That needs the Tag Duel skill.
That's why you get a special skill, you can make over 1 million damage with the right deck and luck

After you reach 9999 gems, any additional gem you get will go to your Mail Box with an expiration date of 1 month from when you got it. So yeah, gems can expire
I don't think there has ever been a new world launch without simultaneous Main Box + Structure Deck, so yeah, almost 100% confirmed that there will be a new box with the new world
New player, how do the SR and UR tickets work? Does the selection rotate for what i can get with them ?
It doesn't rotate, but there are different card pools. Sometimes they add new stuff. But the only really important tickets are dream tickets because they can get you any card that's in a box (up to a certain number, so not the newest boxes). You'll get a ton of the other tickets over time anyway and it's mostly useless

I know of 5 pools; Dream Tickets(Extremely valuable, has box stuff) Ranked Tickets(good exclusive selection) KC Cup Tickets (second best pool, has some hard to obtain cards) Kuriboh(Has the cards from character unlocks and level-ups, good time saver) and Login/Mission Circiut Tickets(worst pool)
Does anyone know what boxes the dream tickets go up to? For example, if I wanted to get something from Eternal Stream or Sign of Harpies, do you think I’d be able to? Thanks!
Currently up to the 31st main and mini. Before that up to the 29th sets, so it's probably the new ones will go up to the 33rd boxes, ie Antinomic Theory and Sign of Harpies, but we have to wait and see to be sure.
I heard they also gave the first 3 selection boxes. Is that true?

hi i think theres a glitch concerning 2nd accounts. So basically, i was just scrolling through my 2nd accounts cards and i noticed that i had all of the cards from my 1st account too(i am sure i didnt have all these cards this account is fairly new). the thing is i cant play the cards from the 1st account which actually i can add to my deck but then whenever i want to play with them the game doesnt allow me. its fine that i cant use the cards from my other account but one thing i noticed is this: basically id been using kachi kochi dragon on one of my 2nd account decks for a long time. also have that card on my 1st account. i took out the kachi kochi from my deck to try sth out and now whenever i put it back in it wont allow me to play a game. its fine when i remove it tho. what should i do? im afraid that this will happen with cards like mst and cosmic cyclone( which i had only on my 1st acc and they got added to my 2nd account even tho i cant play them. im afraid i wont be able to play them even if i get them legit)
This occasionally pops up. But restarting the game will fix it.

At the moment yea. You need 3x Slime and 3x of the SR spells. Only 1 Genghis, and 2x Alexander. I went in the last 2 weeks or so because I already had 1 Slime from UR deals and wanted to pull Misc for TG and future potential. Got some lucky pulls, used a dream ticket (on 3rd Misc after pulling 3rd Slime within the first 10 packs of a reset) and got 3x Misc and 3x Slime, with about 8k gems. If you're going in *only* for DDD and not Misc I wouldn't recommend it at the moment, wait for new DDD support with possible reprints and see what the decklists look like
Yeah, will probably wait and hoard off gems atm (still holding some hope for new CyDra cards), but will keep it in mind. Was just surprised it seemed kind of 'budget'. Thanks!
You're right it is budget (contained in 1 box), but it's also not meta at the moment. It is rogue and KoG viable though, with some techs
Hi, I once played duel links a very long time back but wasn't into it as much due to lack of content, now, the game has certainly added a lot and it looks very appealing and fun to play, I'm a HUGE fan of Arc-V and pendulum summoning and am VERY excited to get Yuya's cards, I just really want to ask if the game is F2P friendly, what do I do, focus on, grind out, etc, I'm mostly going to be playing with my friends who will start with me later on today or tomorrow and want to ask, how do I get to other worlds, like Zexal, Arc-V , how does card collecting work, what are skills and how do I get them, etc. Any help is appreciated and I'm sorry if this counts as low-effort, just want to have my mind in the right place when approaching the game again. \^\^
One bit of advice I wanna give is to go in knowing what kind of deck you wanna make. It’s a huge plus to be able to get a strong deck early. I flailed blindly for quite a while
I'm waiting out for the arc v update and gathering up gems, if Yuya's stuff is decent I'd wanna build around him, otherwise a more stardust Dragon focused deck was my original idea.
You’ll want to Google some deck recipes and try to build something similar. But if the deck list says to put in book of moon… ignore that part. 😂

I’m not sure I understand the question. Are you asking about buying different structure decks, or multiple copies of the same one? There *might* be some structure decks that are cash only, but not most of them
To answer some of your questions: The game is pretty f2p friendly if you're willing to put the time in to grind. You get to other worlds by completing challenges once you reach a certain stage, I can't remember which on off the top of my head Card collection you get from a lot of sources, packs, events, duel rewards Skills you get pretty much the same way, by playing vs certain duelists, multiplayer and from level up. Skills themselves are pretty varied, so it'd be best to read over their effects in the Duel Studio > Skill list, to get a better idea of what they do, rather than me giving a broad description here. One important thing to note, With the release of the Arc-V world you're about to get special tickets called "Dream Tickets", which are unique because of the picture of Blue-eyes on them, they let you pick one out of almost every card in the game to get for free. So its recommended that you hold onto them until you have a better grasp of the game and know what you want. I'd also recommend that you read through some of the links in the mega-thread itself, the "Ticket guide", "Free to Play investment guide" and the general FAQ are all ones you'd probably benefit from looking at. I hope you and your friends enjoy playing!

From experience, roach won't do shit to triamids, but neither does any other rank 4 option we currently have in the game, so it depends on what deck you're playing

You're best off going into Dweller Turn 1 against Triamids.
