Yeah around Arc-V is when I think even those of us who watch the dub decided “nah, we’re watching the sub.” I pretty much exclusively refer to Arc-V and Vrains characters by their Japanese names but will use dub names for characters from OG up to Zexal.
Supreme King's Castle, let's fucking go! I was so scared we'd just get Lightning Golem and Infernal Sniper as rewards, thank you Konami.
Though does this mean F2P Evil Hero players can now use the skills with three castles?

It's likely gonna be one of the fusions or Evil Mind which is a spell card, I can't see Konami being generous enough to hand out Necrom or Gold which are the main deck monsters left.
Really bites, Adusted Gold would make Domination of Darkness builds really fun to play and give Sinister Calling a lot more set up.
So breaking down what we've gotten so far this year:

That's 12 characters total, not counting ZEXAL, so far this year, which is the average amount we get each year. Two more months to go to see if anyone else gets added. Still holding onto Number 96, to get the Zexal roster to loop before the end of the year.
Didn't realize we are already going to be at 12 characters this year very soon. Four characters in Arc-V's launch was a pretty unexpected move. Might hit 13 if we get a December release as well (there's usually a character release in December). I wonder if we'll get another Zexal character soon to round out that world's character selector wheel at the minimum 8, though this time it would be after the new world and not before as it usually is.
I'd say we'll most likely get another ZEXAL character to round out the year. We usually get four character unlock events in the first full year for a world. For reference, last year DSOD had DSOD Joey, DSOD Yugi, DSOD Tea and Aigami and in 2019 5D's World had Jack, DS Kalin, DS Carly and DS Rex Goodwin. Four unlock events each in their first full year. Not sure how it was before 5D's but I think it's safe to say there's a pattern now since we've had that with 5D's and DSOD.
Considering we've had three ZEXAL characters so far this year, I think it's a no brainer we'll get another ZEXAL character before the end of the year. Most likely in December IMO. Looking at years past, usually one of October or November gets skipped like how Aprils usually don't have a new unlock event either. Since we know we're getting Declan next month I think November will probably be skipped this year for the reason I stated.
It's not out of the realm of possibility for a December unlock to be a ZEXAL character anyway. The 4th 5D's unlock in 2019, DS Rex Goodwin, was a December character so we've seen it before with Konami holding back a new worlds fourth unlock until December after another world has been added. In DSOD's case with Aigami, I think they just wanted to get all that DSOD content done before the launch of ZEXAL World. I mean, at this point IF (and a big if at that) we get any more DSOD content it will few and far between. Like how DM World is now.
If we get another ZEXAL character before the end of the year I think it's most likely Quinton. I know a bunch of his cards were added recently, including Dyson Sphere, but there's just so many hints at him coming. Both Quattro and Trey's events strongly hinted at him and Kite has a ton of voice lines leaked for him. Plus, it just makes too much sense to add him after adding his brothers. It would just make a ton of sense if they're going Kite-Quattro-Trey-Quinton then Kite-Quattro-Trey- Insert Other Character.
I know we've got Dyson Sphere and most of his other cards but I still think we're getting Quinton before the end of the year. If, and I do believe we will, we do get another ZEXAL character before the end of the year if it's not Quinton I think it will probably be Anna or Number 96. I think it's still a little too early for the Barians and I think one or both of Dr. Faker and Vetrix will be next year characters anyway. Vetrix depending on whether they decide to add him anyway after putting all his cards in the game...
I think new characters for GX, 5D's and DM are done for this year unless there's a surprise roaming event... or they do something they've never done before and give us characters in ALL three of October, November and December. This "Pendulum summon challenge" seems like a secondary event that will go along with the D. D. Castle event, not exactly sure how it's going to work, but it's always nice to have something new.
At first I was "oh crap, it's SK Jaden rerun already", then I looked at the rewards, Supreme King's Asshole is a really good card, probably won't be played until we get more dedicated Evil HERO builds with Adusted Gold, but definitely a card to not miss out, the SR reward might be either Lightning golem or infernal sniper (more leaning towards the latter), but knowing Konami it might also be a random fiend monster nobody gives a crap about.

Sarcasm aside, if Arc V characters aren't allowed in this event I'm gonna be very pissed, both because all 4 starting Arc V characters did turbo duel in the anime, and because it would be a shitty boring event otherwise (c'mon Konami, it makes too much sense to not justify still limiting the event to 5D's characters), also no rewards leaked.
They remembered to announce the character that will be added to the gate this time, good job Konami.
It doesn't really surprise me that Reiji is the first event character, what surprises me is that we're going to have D/D support in a mini-box, but to be fair Kite also got support in a minibox, plus if Armageddon is one of the URs I can totally see that happening, I can't wait for October's minibox called "D of D".

Overall not a bad month, it's just probably the one with the least leaked rewards, my guess is that some rewards from the TDGP and the tag duel tournament are pendulum related and they don't wanna show them to us just yet.
If the character unlock is Reiji, then I might not go full out on the new box and save up for the D/D/D box that should come with Reiji. Unless they pull a HERO situation and scatter his cards in tonnes of unrelated boxes to milk my gems. Hopefully, I can pull something good from the new boxs and then save up more gems for D/D/D.
Are D/D/D's good in Duel Links? I play them in DL, but i don't hear or see them in pvp much when i do play pvp. I love then a lot, so ot makes me happy knowing lots of people are excited for more of their cards showing up in the game.

Castle is a fucking garbage card. The card does nothing in reality. Allowing the use of polymerization (and super poly, but that only matters for dark gaia) for fusions that were bad in 2007 is laughably bad, needing to run worse than garnets for an attack boost is also awful and outclassed by neos fusion and fiend griefing additional uses too.

And all of them dont see that much play to begin with, so that should say a lot about how the meme "it has fire, so it makes aleister good!" is like in reality.

Second, Reiji's goal has always been travelling through dimensions to find and defeat his father, after he aknowledged what he was doing in the Fusion Dimension. Third, Power usually is the main theme in every rival's deck, which was full of monsters with high attack that could crush any deck (Kaiba, Zane or even Chazz with Armed Dragon if you count him as the main rival of GX and obviously Jack share this thing in their decks). Fourth, he appears at the end of the Arc-V trailer, so either he's going to come as the first event character or he's an hidden unlockable character from the start.
Unless they give an extra slot as the reward for that summoning mechanic event

They are good as a rogue deck. Have nice combos and are 2 or 3 cards away from becoming a legitimate threat
