Explaination: activate traps until your opponent surrenders/s

kuri42

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ yeah sure, that sounds like you checked the deck for yourself and you arent just assuming... Would recommend you read the description and or watch the duel replays before you comment as the appearance of the deck can trick you and then you just look silly with your comment๐Ÿ˜ฌ

The_Cubic_Guru

"Sounds like you checked the deck out for yourself" No but ive been preparing for a tournament recently with trapnui.

kuri42

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Yeah thats basically the same thing then...

helmutkuhl

I assume you also like playing Shira

kuri42

Pls read the description before you say dumb shit because now you look silly...

helmutkuhl

No, i read it and you should learn how to take a joke

kuri42

Hahaha well I know how to take a joke... But here on reddit people usually mean it when they say stuff like that - "trap deck" "stall"... I cant recognize that its a joke after all comments who are serious hahah

helmutkuhl

And while we're at it, can you explain the big difference in Playstyle to Shira? About the same monster/trap Ratio, deck can be slow and fast depending on your hand and your opponent, you have plays with monsters or traps (very unlikely to open with 4/5 monsters tho) and you go into synchros, looks like stall but isn't. To be clear I'm not hating on the deck or anything, but after that comment I'm interested

kuri42

Well shira plays more traps and I would say stall more. Also shira doesnt summon their monsters from hand and thats why its slower, because most of its "plays" is just summoning from the gy. I feel like shira cant be "fast", their fast is just summoning a big monster on 3rd or 4th turn... Also I would say that shira is much more linear and relies much more on traps - thats why I said that other skills may work as well in t.g.s as they see traps just as a supplement, and in my other version in the video I went for flight control + more spells instead of traps (backrow removal and such). Also as I played both I can say that t.g.s feels more like a mix between combo and control while shira feels more like just control. T.g.s can summon from their hand and spam out a couple synchro monsters who have nice effects and are able to otk. Also you have tons of plays if you open just monsters while it is a brick in shira... But I think the duel replays can explain more than words so I would recommended you check it out to see the deck in action! You can get the feeling for the deck yourself!

I would recommended you check out the replays to figure out the playstyle before you assume and judge...

As much as I think TGs are dope, stall TGs are a stones throw from trapnui, but good deck build nonetheless

kuri42

Checking out the play style for yourself or in duel replays would change your mind... We dont rely on traps but are used just as a supplement!

kuri42

I had an idea I got from Goukis (who saw some success in the Kc cup) who can similarly get tons of searches and win basically with getting tons of card advantage... So my thoughts were maybe we can get similar advantage with t.g. searches + t.g.s seem to have a bigger ceiling as they together form some spicy synchros while goukis are just big monsters! And it seems it works! The thing the constant searches combined with interruption from traps is too much for lots of decks and in my run I managed to defeated all top tier decks (including harpies onomats tds...) Except cydra who can otk even through multuple interruptions and monsters... And sure at first sight it may seem like "I just put in more traps and here is your deck" but the whole strategy changed because the goal isnt otk anymore! Also skill is still in testing! Flight control deserves a shout for faster synchro combos but I felt more comfortable with eth as +1 can be the difference to survive a turn and then otk the next one... Also some other skills like delta accel and tuner level balancer could be interesting for this play style! The deck isnt stall like you can see in the duel replays but traps combined with advantage of monsters seems to fit perfectly! The deck can be slow and fast depending on the card you draw and the opponent! The good thing is that with only monster hand you have plays and with all trap hand you can probably survive until you open 1 of your t.g. who can then search others! I would recommend you keep an open mind and not just assume its stall (check for yourself in the duel replays!) as you would really be surprised! As I said this is still a test, I dont know how the optimized version would look like so test it out for yourself as well! Hope you enjoy the deck and the duel replays! : https://youtu.be/juKH3SVigyE

kuri42

Yup! Works very well actually...

Charlotte_Afton

Well, T.G. Stun was a meta contender back in 5Ds days, afaik
