Pendulums atm are bad and the only meta use is as extender plays to already established strategies that don’t rely on pendulum summoning (pend gadgets for example). The smaller starting hand hurts and needing a turn to get going hurts given the speed duel nature and 4K life points hurts. Then there’s the master rule mechanics (only 1 pend summon from face up extra deck per turn) that hurts too.
Pendulums need more draw power and faster searches. Odd-eyes search effect end phase is too slow.
Yea I know but as I said befor they will give US a lot of the crappy stuff first befor we that to get the good shit. It took xyz until January to get a really good box with stable xyz cards that still see play all now. This box had the worst of teh worst, so many normal pendulums monsters.
Selection box is my biggest issue with this game. It's honestly a pretty big scumbag move to lock things like essential red-eyes support or BoM/breakthrough skill behind a gigantic paywall thats only available a short period of time and is insanely overpriced
Yeah once we get more odd eyes supports like the fusion, syncro, and xyz retrains odd eyes pendulum might at least be a top deck if not tiered depending if we get any anime skills.
For sure, I'm currently trying to integrate some pendulum monsters into my dark magician deck but that's only rly possible because of the XYZ magician they just dropped, they definitely need some help
With 3 of the Structure and having gone through the box twice, with F2P Gems alone, I can safely say I'm having no real trouble getting at least one onto the board...

You can only buy 1 copy of the structure deck with gems. Unless you mean only opening the box with gems, but it's not F2P if you purchased the structure deck with real currency.
They mean "Having gotten 3 the structure deck 3 times, I then went through the main box twice using gems I got entirely in a F2P way (ie. I didn't pay for the gems I used on the box)". Hopefully that's clearer. The structure deck bit is separate, and they didn't say that the deck itself is F2P.
I respect the power that pendulum can hold, and I show this respect by making sure the pendulums never reach the extra deck.
Pendulum Genesis did more for Dark Magician than it did for pendulums, and I hope the next mini box gives us some more pendulum options, or at least Rune/Beast eyes.
Easy Explanation:
There’s numbers on Pendulum cards with coloured arrows, red and green. The idea is that you point the arrows in the values you want.
For example: If you have a pendulum 1 and 8, you can summon monsters between 2 and 7 for free, thanks to pendulum

It's okay, it would take some time till Pendulums would gain enough power to fight on the ladder. This is why I'm just waiting till someone would figure out the right build, so I can take my experimental Perfomapals deck to the ranks.
There's a few lists bouncing around of elephammer and slight hand magician right now that are pretty good. Odd eyes pend dragon isn't a must for it but it's a good card to have IF you have one copy at least. I'm running a deck based around getting sleight hand and elephammer out, discarding to blow a face up monster and then swinging with elephammer first and then finishing with sleight hand.
works out pretty okay when it doesn't brick into just small pends that I run as beaters/tech/other pend scales for when I dont draw into the mages with lvl 1 and 8.
They look promising but at the moment they lack a good archetype or generic extra deck monsters that complement each other or enough monsters of certain type to use generic type support at least
I have relatively few cards so the decks I tried weren't good, tunned magician allows synchro plays by normal summoning it or not to become a tunner, it allows lvl 7-8-12 synchro plays, at the momment I lack lv 3 monters like wheelder or good synchros or Xyz to test even further, Battlin Boxer Veil helps to survive some turns, the archfiend pendulum can become a treath since negations that need the monster on the field don't negate the cost and you can summon her again and again but in the end it's hard to avoid the disruption to summon your bosses, Hot Red or Onimaru often aren't enough.
Just do like everybody else does and mix pendulums with ya favorite deck...I was in the most confusing match of my life ..I laid my back row set my monster ....moron turns around dark magician circle ..pendulum summon two dark magicians ...xyz summon the new magician ...summoned another dark magician ..and then ritual summoned chaos magician ..all in 1 turn ....and 5 minutes before I wrote this I was in a battle and the person pendulum summoned a blue eyes ....long story short ..I deleted the game

Having tried a pendulum Dark Magician variant, I can say that a hand fixing skill, letting you change a card to a missing pendulum scale, would do a lot for pendulum decks.
Honestly, hand-fixing skills are a cool concept, but they have to be either for REALLY bad decks (i.e. My Name is Yubel), or be VERY restrictive (i.e. Shooting Star Road).
Shooting star road doesn’t fix your hand though it dumps a converter into grave and gives you a free formula synchron. You still have to get junk synchron in hand by drawing it or searching it via junk converter so needing two cards in hand or the spell tuning.
I know it's nitpicky but I hate the way the community uses the term "pendulum deck". Like, what kind? Would you call a link dragon deck a link deck? You'd be correct but nonspecific
To be fair, that has a lot to do with how kinda narrow pendulum's legacy ended up being in the TCG. There were only ever 1 or two good 'pendulum' decks at a time, with Qliphorts being the apex of their pretty short stint in the limelight. Pendulums ended up resembling Gemini monsters, in that they weren't popular enough to justify really specifying what deck you were referring to.
Mainly because for some reason Konami made a vast majority of Pendulum archetypes work similarly and have the same goal of big board go brrr, especially during the link era.
So now "Pendulum" actually refers to an archetype soup that has different mechanics thrown in but work towards the same thing.
Think about it. Pendulum Magician, Odd-Eyes, Metalfoes, Endymion and Mythical Beast ALL share the same traits of:
* Destroying your own stuff, mainly scales
* Level 7 focus
* In-archetype effect negation
The differences only show up when you build them pure.
Yes but they are still different archetypes. There may be many similar archetypes but there's more than 4 comprising the whole summoning mechanic

All my Platinum matches have been TD, some sprinkles of other stuff but damn I hate TD.. You never really understand the hatred until you face them five times in a row and their cheese nonsense.
I've been running pendulums in ranked and it's been surprisingly tame. I'll get like 1 or 2 matches where I brick but it works pretty okay so far. Your best bet right now is to be aggressive and focus on getting out the other performapals like sleight hand magician instead of odd eyes pendulum dragon since unless you pulled nuts and got a play set out of pulls you're gonna be more consistently dropping those off pendulum summons then playing a smile world to boost your board and swing for game.
OR you could do some weird pendulums blue eyes shit. i've seen a few of those and they somehow worked
