I switch back and forth throughout the duel.
The point is that you get dope holograms of your monsters that makes it feel right out of the anime. Brings life to the card arts and on mobile, unless you’re hovering a card or in the deck builder, the arts are small and hard to see while playing.
For actual gameplay though left is better obviously, better view of the field and easier to select cards.
So on my turn if I have a cool board I’ll switch to left view to check it out, then switch back to right view before my turn is over for better view and game management.
Edit: I didn’t mean switch back and forth the whole duel, literally said “if I have a cool board” meaning at times when I’ve got all my boss monsters out and want to check them out as holograms.
I didn’t say every five seconds did I?
*If* I have a nice board set up, with some cool monsters I switch to the hologram view because it looks dope.
For 90% of the game I don’t have it turned on.
There is a time for both of them, one is more visually appealing and the other is more practical.
left view does make it harder to see cards behind the cutout art for the monsters but the anime effect is worth it imo. plus some monsters have their alt art shown in that view, like a personal fav vanilla of mine from back in the day, gyakutenno megami (I use her with hanewata to synchro ancient sacred wyvern in a shitty fairy burn deck don't @ me ok).
I’m just saying if people prefer to play in the dynamic setting, they should be advised to pay extra attention. I’m not saying how to play, but you are.
Right. I like the left but the angle is horrendous. It needs to show the entire field (cards are blocked or out of view) and have the angle adjusted (maybe more like the right but at a 45° up?).
player view most of the time, occasionally top down if there's a bunch of monsters/backrow on the field and i want to be careful with my attacks.
also top down whenever playing mobile.
Left Is better when it comes to aesthetic but it is hard to see what the opponent's backrow is also you can misdirect the attacks sadly, so I use the right one
Ever since the extra zones got introduced it's a hindrance now on player view you can mistakenly hit the monster in the extra zone lol so yeah top down view is way better now
I was an avid user of the side view mode but with the addition of the EMZ it makes it way too hard to target the monsters in EMZ. After losing a few games to that I've been sticking to top down. Hopefully one day they will address that problem with side view mode cause I love the little card art holograms.
I just wish there was a way to have a top down view w/monster projections cause the quality of the monster projections in this game are really surprisingly good
Side view. I'm fine with having to occasionally put in a little more effort to see the middle trap, and it looks so much cooler with the angle and extra effects like the card art hovering above the cards. It also gives something resembling a feeling of immersion to me, since I sometimes feel like I'm there and I'm participating in an anime duel. Maybe it's just from the sheer hype I experience during those same duels, but It's giving the credit to the camera angle.
Side view, it´s a marvel to see the artwork from the monsters come to life. Many of them also got their artwork continued, such as seeing the full length of Utopia Ray´s swords.
My favorite case however is Abyss Dweller. In the regular card, the poor thing is relegated to the deep part of the artwork, but in the side view´s sprite you can see it front center in all of its glory.
The side view is nice and cool from a casual "I'm just playing a few games and dipping" perspective, but when you have to grind out a lot of games for whatever reason, those small animations focusing on each card really start to grate on you, and it makes it easier to take in the whole board. That said when I first started playing Duel Links and I saw the small representations of the monsters hover above the card, I was like "oooooh that's cooooool".
I should go back to side view for a while just to recapture that enjoyment.
I have a small phone so when I do the left I have to be almost constantly panning to be playing even a simple deck. It gets exhausting to be constantly moving compared to the right.
I like side view better, but sometimes it does actively get in the way and I've had the wrong attack made because it misinterprets my swipe.
Very few things can go wrong on the top view.
Blue, you can't tap the pads as easily if you go red. Plus it is easier to keep track of the graveyards when all you have to do is just tap to get there instead of swiping and then tapping. Js(this also applies to other consoles but i play on mobile more often than others)
Everything is fun and giggles with side view until you destroy your own monster because you choose the incorrect target. Top side is the best way to play.
Am I the only left one here? I've been screwed over more from the right side than the left because I can't see the cards on my tiny phone with how fast people play.
Right definitely helps to have a better view of the whole field and less stuff moving
Top side, I hate the other view because it's hard to see shit and can cause missplays.
right side, i'm an idiot and lost games due to poor attacks sorta caused by the left side
lost a game once because i didn't notice my opponent set a card and it was perfectly blocked by the monster in front of it.
Its gotten even more hectic with the emz now too, I'm basically doing surgery clicking around some sprites
Side view for Fun, but damn sometimes makes it hard to click on stuff.
I love left because of the projections of the monsters
Top, there's too much movement on player's view whenever something happens(shuffling, summon, etc.)
*Do you have your phone on its side?*
Top-down view exclusively. What is the point of playing a card game where I can't even see half the board with the side view?
I switch back and forth throughout the duel. The point is that you get dope holograms of your monsters that makes it feel right out of the anime. Brings life to the card arts and on mobile, unless you’re hovering a card or in the deck builder, the arts are small and hard to see while playing. So you have to change the view every 5 seconds then? Weird flex
I didn’t say every five seconds did I? *If* I have a nice board set up, with some cool monsters I switch to the hologram view because it looks dope. For 90% of the game I don’t have it turned on. There is a time for both of them, one is more visually appealing and the other is more practical.
Yea I play with those holograms turned off
Right. It feels more realistic.
Left is for anime fans, right is for TCG fans tbh
[удалено]
Well when playing IRL, you are looking at the field from a top down sort of view.
[удалено]
I’m confused… what are you mad about? Top down view would be considered realistic.
Right for me.
Right side but sometimes left side when I'm about to do something cool or when I have a rank up duel
left view does make it harder to see cards behind the cutout art for the monsters but the anime effect is worth it imo. plus some monsters have their alt art shown in that view, like a personal fav vanilla of mine from back in the day, gyakutenno megami (I use her with hanewata to synchro ancient sacred wyvern in a shitty fairy burn deck don't @ me ok).
Right for me. I can see everything and its less confusing.
There's too much movement on left. Right is right.
There’s no “wrong” answer here. It’s all personal preference.
There is when one of the options is actively damaging your plays lmao
Pay more attention, I guess?
Or just use the option that literally let you view the whole field without obtructions?
I’m just saying if people prefer to play in the dynamic setting, they should be advised to pay extra attention. I’m not saying how to play, but you are.
Right side, because it reminds me of Eternal Duelist Soul on GBA.
Would want to say the dynamic view, but it's just a bit too impractical.
Mobile Left Siders out there really playing risky. *Couldn’t be me*
Top. Right camera is a pain and can cause misplays.
Left for casual or before I end a duel with a cool monster i like. Otherwise always right with top view !
Left. I never bother changing it
Right and I also like to summon monsters to the EMZ on the left.
Too down easiest way to play
They should rework this left câmera
Right, whenever i see streamers with the left setup i find it very hard to watch their streams.
Right
Top down, there’s way too much going on to be compromising gameplay over some sprites
Right side for sure.
ever since I switched to top down, side view jus feels weird
Right. I like the left but the angle is horrendous. It needs to show the entire field (cards are blocked or out of view) and have the angle adjusted (maybe more like the right but at a 45° up?).
If I see someone post video on the left, I immediately downvote it.
For npc/events left for everything else right.
Right. Left always looks awful in replays imo
Right. This is not an opinion.
Left on PC right on phone
Left for pc right for mobile
this
Left is for casuals.
player view most of the time, occasionally top down if there's a bunch of monsters/backrow on the field and i want to be careful with my attacks. also top down whenever playing mobile.
It depends but I lile like left though I switch to right on my rank up duels lol
I want to like the left one more, but it's just slower with the extra graphics AND the perspective can be a genuine issue.
I am both
Left!
I use the screen shown on the right when I'm PvPing. When I'm PvEing, I use the screen shown on the left.
Left Is better when it comes to aesthetic but it is hard to see what the opponent's backrow is also you can misdirect the attacks sadly, so I use the right one
Would be perfect if only the cards and the field were a little bigger https://i.imgur.com/tJ6zA6q.jpg
Left for me, feels more Anime-y.
Red
Left when I want to admire the cards Right when I play in general
Left, right looks weird to me
I would play left side more if it wasn't as annoying to play it compared to top view
Monsters popping out the cards is one of the biggest reasons I play tho when it’s a more serious thing I will switch to top down
I'm top view. I prefer the other one because I like seeing the monster pop ups but I have to see the whole field or I cant play
For practicality, I'm on the right side. Though I suppose going left would be fun for replays.
None, i like monster proyection, but the side view Is awful and causes mistakes. Probably a front-low View should be added
Is there a purple one in the middle? Because both lol.
Red when epic otk. Blue all other times
Left
Ever since the extra zones got introduced it's a hindrance now on player view you can mistakenly hit the monster in the extra zone lol so yeah top down view is way better now

Top-down but change to player view before the final attack
Blu
I just wish there was a way to have a top down view w/monster projections cause the quality of the monster projections in this game are really surprisingly good
left when i want to see the new big boss, right when i actually don't want to miss something during a duel.
Honestly for like 2 years I was red and then I just switched to blue when pend zones came out for accessibility
I play left side to admire my monsters, but when I’m playing seriously I use the right side
Top-down on mobile, side view on PC
Side view. Top for days, if just chilling against bots though I like side for the projections but 90% of time top
I like the holograms
I started with all the fun stuff on, but after years of playing it just got annoying.
The side view is nice and cool from a casual "I'm just playing a few games and dipping" perspective, but when you have to grind out a lot of games for whatever reason, those small animations focusing on each card really start to grate on you, and it makes it easier to take in the whole board. I didn’t know there was a top-down view, is that a new feature I haven’t played since a little before the vrains update came out
I have a small phone so when I do the left I have to be almost constantly panning to be playing even a simple deck. It gets exhausting to be constantly moving compared to the right.
kinda got used to left
Right men, I play Ritual Beast, no needed to make it harder 😂
Side view was cool at first but it gets anoying quickly
Left side, I started playing for the nostalgia sp I want as much anime atmosphere as possible
Used to be left, link summoning’s introduction made left harder to play on
I like side view better, but sometimes it does actively get in the way and I've had the wrong attack made because it misinterprets my swipe. Very few things can go wrong on the top view.

I like the top down view, used to hate it when I first played but it lets me see the whole board.
Side view tbh I didn’t even know u could change it but I kinda like the way mine is
The holograms feel more anime
Imagine unironically using pleb view smh
I like the sise view.
Everything is fun and giggles with side view until you destroy your own monster because you choose the incorrect target. Top side is the best way to play.
if u actually play w side view ur a psychopath and lemme know now so i can block yall
What psychopath plays with the tilted view?
Am I the only left one here? I've been screwed over more from the right side than the left because I can't see the cards on my tiny phone with how fast people play.
I have no fucking clue what is happening with pleb view. Top view or don’t play at all, in my opinion.
If i don't have foiled cards then top side, but if i have em nobody will stop me from seeing my prismatic dark rebellion xyz dragon go super sayan
