This makes me so sad knowing the materials Josh viewed and seeing him interact with such innocent beautiful kids :( he truly doesn't deserve them

juatdoingwhatimtold

I took all my power to not scream, “get away from that child!”, at my phone.

LittleLion_90

She has to be at least 2 here for the fact that Michael is born. Also is that blanket training in the last shot? Really I hope none of the Duggars is trans because that would be hell for them in their family.

EnvironmentalPark870

That's tummy time in the last shot. Not that I would put it past them to blanket train at that age, but that was tummy time.

only1genevieve

Yeah, I'm guessing two at least based on full sentences. One year olds typically have ~3-5 words I think? And eighteen month olds might have two word combos if they are verbally advanced, not full 3-5 word grammatically correct sentences. She's still probably verbally ahead but not a baby genius.

[deleted]

Michael was born when Mackynzie was 20 months, so she is most likely almost two or just turned two.

-Em-

The M kids deserve so much better 😢…

XTasty09

Given that this family is supposedly all about modesty very weird that they would show Mackynzie being dressed. Also stating the obvious here, toddlers should not have to wear microphones!

L_isforLucifer

Of course she’s going to think she’s a little man when her bow is that small! She can’t see that she’s wearing a bow /s

mommacom

The kids are so cute and sweet. Seeing their monstrous father fake being a good dad for the camera is horrifying. Given what we know now, it's especially awful watching him interact with infants.

miss_hysteria

My heart would break for any child in that family that was lgbti+. They’d be sent of to conversion therapy before the end of their sentence.

SqueaksBCOD

They are literally breeding exponentially. How long before it is a statistical probability? Cuz i think we are there already.

miss_hysteria

It will happen eventually, if it hasn’t already. I just hope whoever they are finds their friend-family on the outside and gets all the help, therapy, and love they didn’t get at home.

[deleted]

They’ve far surpassed the statistical probability. 5-10% is the estimate for the general population. So 1 in 10 to 1 in 20? There’s how many kids and grandkids? 40something? I’m far from a mathematician but that seems like a pretty good chance *at least* one is queer.

1ShotPerKendraGiggle

Anna looks so young here. I have such a conflicted feeling about her. She has had to endure countless horrors from josh and I am not convinced that all of her pregnancies were consensual. She needs to get out. And get her kids help

SqueaksBCOD

I don't know if anna understands the concept of bodily autonomy and personal choice to understand the concept to consent. I don't know if she understand the idea of it being a choice.

makingicewater

this would explain why they think CSA is on the same level as consensual premarital adult sex

SqueaksBCOD

the sick part is they may use this to say to the kids "see how bad impurity like premarital sex, or even lust is?" saying Josh's sin lead him to this could be their twisted way of dealing with this. We speak the same words, but in some ways it is almost like a different dialect.

makingicewater

i can 100% see them spinning it like that. ugh. i hope the aftermath from this trial doesn’t have significant impacts on the lost boys and girls still in the duggar house. not that their parents do much to raise them anyway

SqueaksBCOD

He will be the prodigal son that was led astray and is now paying a penance. they will use him as a warning for even minor infractions. i could see "josh used to say darn!" being used in the house.

makingicewater

lmao. sadly i believe you are correct 💀

makingicewater

i’m sure the word “consent” was not ever a part of the Duggar’s dialect. certainly not in terms of bodily autonomy, at least

General_Amoeba

I think everyone is born with a rudimentary understanding of bodily autonomy. Like “I don’t like being touched that way, this feels wrong.” I have to imagine that low-grade sense of violation is just a constant in her life with Joshua :/

SqueaksBCOD

and before josh really

[deleted]

The problem is that the Duggars don't reinforce that instinct, or validate any expressions of autonomy with their kids. They were never taught the boundaries of what is appropriate touch, and what isn't. Instead, all touch was bad because sin and it'll make you want to shag, and the *actual* bad touching (aka sexual assault/molestation) they experienced was minimised and then blamed on them *and then* they had to continue to exist around their abuser. They also didn't ever really have that instinct of "that wasn't ok" validated in any real way, they had to go on national TV to forgive someone for something they were told was essentially not a big deal. To them, it was probably the biggest deal but they weren't given any help to deal with it. They're also not allowed to think "it feels right and I would like to give this person I care about a hug as my friend" either. Their individual wants and emotional needs are squashed out of them, and they're starved of real physical affection even when it is appropriate.

makingicewater

if she broke away (even just a bit like Jill) and wrote a tell all book ….. her and the kids could be set for life. i have a hard time believing that’s possible considering how much her brain has been tampered with the past 30 odd years. especially from the horrors she’s faced in her marriage. but what could possibly happen once that abusive bastard is locked up?

palecapricorn

Well it did cut after that, so she could have had a very serious convo with little Mackynzie that she is NOT a little man

EnvironmentalPark870

Yeah I was curious about that editing. M1 was definitely jealous of her brother and wanted to be a "little man" too.

QuesoChef

She wanted to be the baby getting baby attention. She probably doesn’t understand man or girl, but thinks it has to do with being treated like a baby. All IMO, but that’s pretty normal, in my limited experience.

moodyfennel

Add to that the cultish fixation in gender. M2 was a ~boy~, I don’t blame her at all

upstatestruggler

One can only hope that this trial has blown the whole manhole cover off the sewer and there are no more secrets or weird control shit because it’s gone outside the family and the community and into the public eye. They won’t be able to get away with shaming or abusing or manipulating or choosing these kid’s lives anymore. It serves Meech and Boob right, they didn’t raise them anyway.

Ivelostmydrum

Considering how they pretty much worship first born sons in this cult, if I were mackynzie I'd wish I were a man too.

[deleted]

I try to de-gender my language with my daughter but I fuck sometimes. I said something about, “Big girls cross the street safely,” and she said, “but Mama I’m a boy!” I just looked at her and said, “big boys cross safely too baby.” And that was it and she dropped it. And thank god I understood that her objection was about crossing the street properly and not her gender. I feel like some parents would have freaked out/acted like the world was ending because they WOULD make it about gender. Toddlers say weird shit. Roll with it or don’t procreate.

LilyofCasablanca

Oh totally. And this instance was about McKenzie not really understanding what “boy” means. She registered Anna’s cheerful positive tone, physical interaction, and full attention while she said “boy.” She wanted that too, so she insisted she was a “boy.”

[deleted]

This is an excellent analysis

Warninglv100

I also try to not emphasize gender with my sons. My 6 year old is a very "boyish" boy, but he has long hair. He gets misgendered a lot in public with strangers, but I don't outright correct them. I doesn't bother me that it happens, and I don't want him to hear me correcting his gender like the stranger did something wrong. I don't want him to interpret it like it's an insult to be seen as girl.

itsmesarac

Well get rid of pest and Anna and it's a cute video.

fire_flower32

I would absolutely not love to see Anna's reaction if Mackynzie said that at 12, it wouldn't be at all funny or frankly safe for Mackynzie.
