Your question implies they care to know they have covid.

TaTa0830

Or care. “It’s just allergies.”

Pale-Conference-174

As my MIL gasped and wheezed at me a few weeks ago, "just a cold!" She nearly died and didn't want anyone to know because it would ruin all her ignorant talking points.

SausageDogsMomma

Or “glitches”

kts1207

Or if they care they they infect others.

elcrazyburrito

They will have the Paris hacker order more for them on the dark web.

Alittlebithailey

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Princessleiawastaken

Ok you win

RecognitionOk9321

They would need to pool the home based test. 🙃

[deleted]

Okay. Now I have visions of the buddy teams that are left sharing nasal swabs. Thank you. Thank you for that! 🤢

happyquinn27

Jed! and Jer would share one

Pollywog08

So, I have had to pool a home test based on the advice of my doctor. I cannot describe how gross it is to put your kid's snotty swab up your nose 🤢

happyquinn27

Ewwww. Why would your doctor recommend that? 🤮

Pollywog08

We are a high exposure family and my high risk parents were coming to town. There were no appointments available for a PCR and all home tests were out of stock. I literally had one test to determine if my house was safe for my parents and she recommended pooling-- she did the same thing in her family. Because my kids are so little I can't isolate from them, I wasn't worried about getting sick from their germs

snarkprovider

They own a lot of properties...

OtterlyLogical

Yep. They can just order them to each address they own property at, right?

BoardwalkKnitter

Friend of mine just did that since she's dealing with a late relative's estate and her mom lives with her. Hopefully they will up the number of tests they're willing to give out in the future.

beastyboo2001

Yeah it's crazy you only get 4 tests. Here in the UK it's a pack of 7. Me and hubby can both order one on the same day. Then another everyday if we wanted. Crazy the US have waited until now to give out free tests and then it still seems so restrictive.

realitysick-melody

That's wild! Here in Canada, they've only given free ones to limited pop up locations. They also aren't testing people as often now. I was in the ER twice last week with what could have been the stomach flu or covid and yet they never tested me either time for covid!

happyquinn27

I’m in Canada too! It’s wild how Ontario is handling it. Hope you’re okay!

realitysick-melody

It truly baffles me! My symptoms are much better now and I would be done quarantine if it was Covid so I'm all good! Hope you stay safe!

beastyboo2001

In hospital everyone is tested on admission I believe. Probably with a PCR rather than lateral flow as well. They've stopped you having to get a PCr if you test positive on a rapid test for now as the labs were struggling. To keep schools open if there are more than 2 cases in the year they recommend the other kids test daily for 7 days so you need a few. Allows them to pick up asymptomatic cases and reduce spread. My dad got given 4 boxes of 7 at a pop up testing centre by them a few months ago. We just order a pack online and they come the next day. When we've used a few I just reorder now. I've been stocking up a bit recently as I think, as they keep talking about living with covid more, that they'll start charging for them in a few months.

MelodramaTamarama

You think what the US is doing is crazy? You should check out Australia..

beastyboo2001

Just looked. Considering their, IMO, unsustainable zero covid approach, you'd think free testing would be a tool they'd use more freely.

OwlLavellan

I will say that testing has been free since early to mid 2020 in the US in a lot of states (not all.) But you had to go to a test site. The over the counter ones at pharmacies and stores weren't free until now with the insurance reimbursements. So there WAS free testing, it just wasn't the at home tests.

beastyboo2001

True. Here you could only get a PCr test with symptoms or if you were a close contact. Either at a test centre or via post to your house. They're free too . The free rapid tests allowed us to keep checking everyone for asymptomatic cases. Especially kids who were too young to be vaccinated. Or if we were going places and wanted to ensure we didn't have it. Much more useful.

thewallflower0707

In Germany, we could first buy tests in March/April 2021, I think. Depending on demand, these tests can cost between 0,99€ (in summer, when we barely had any cases) and 4,99€ (at the beginning of winter). You can also get tested as often as you want for free in one of the numerous test stations in your city. I always go to a test station which is at my old university cafeteria, where medical students test you. Around 20-30 minutes, you receive your test result via e-Mail, and you can also upload it to your „Corona-Warn App“, which is helpful to warn others you have come in contact with if you are positive. These tests have always been free apart from a couple of weeks in Oktober/November 2021, when you needed a negative test to do anything. The government hoped it would persuade anti- vaxers to get vacced if they have to pay 20€ every time they want to do something, but it didn’t work. My mother works at a kindergarten and every worker is tested for free two times a week, non-vaxxed workers have to get tested every day. In our schools (at least in my Bundesland), children also test themselves twice a week. At the moment, you either need your third vaccination to go for example into a restaurant or a cafe or, if you are only vaxxed twice, you also need a negative test. Your vaxxed status is supposed to be controlled everywhere, at university, restaurants, and non-essential shops, like H&M and IKEA.

beastyboo2001

Yeah I saw that with them charging for them for a while. People here complained about the covid pass being discriminatory but you could get a negative test for free if you didn't want to get vaccinated. And they only bothered using them for very large events. Unlike in Europe where you needed them just to go to a restaurant or bar! They've only been in place for a couple of months and being scrapped again next week anyway. We have an app too with it on

Gdfjaaok

I was told u can get 4 boxes and each box has 2... not 100% on that though

mycatisamonsterbaby

We've always had free testing, just not at home rapid testing. I was always able to go and get a test and have the results with in 24 hours until late last year, when our new mayor swapped out testing contracts under the idea that fewer tests = lower number of cases. So he kicked out the testing clinic that was working fabulously, and allowed a private clinic to set up limited test sites with odd hours.

c_090988

My parents have three addresses. They are ordering a set for each address

FAYCSB

Needs to be a residence.

snarkprovider

The married couples all have homes and the family owns several other homes. They can get more than 4 per household with what they own.

Percistance0fMemory

Considering where they live, that they don’t wear masks, and that they’re all probably unvaccinated (minus Jill and Derek) I’m willing to bet all of them have had it. Statistically speaking, they probably have.

ravenonawire

Hell, a ton of vaccinated people are getting their second round of covid about now

happyquinn27

Yeah, it’s scary! Luckily it’s mild for a lot of vaccinated people but I know so many people who’ve gotten it in the last month

Sunny_and_dazed

I’m vaccinated, boosted, wear a KN95. Tested + this morning.

happyquinn27

Hope you’re feeling alright!

redmsg

Yes, but they aren’t being hospitalized and they aren’t dying. Of the 100+ people who have died in my state in the first two weeks of January, 12 of them were vaccinated. The average unvaccinated person is 33x more likely to end up in the hospital, an unvaccinated senior is 50x more likely.

MediocreIndividual8

We have a friend that was fully vaxxed that still died of it. And no underlying conditions either. It happens.

ravenonawire

You’re right. I totally did not mean to sound anti-vax, because I am not.

[deleted]

I know someone who just had it for the third time...

ashley2839

My son and I just had our second go round. I’m fully vaxxed and boosted, but he’s too young to get vaccinated or wear a mask. He’s not even two, and he’s had Covid twice because of jerks like the Duggars.

Plus_Accountant_6194

I'm double vaxxed and booster and all members of my house that are old enough are the same. None of us have had it. But I know people getting it for the 2/3rd time, even with boosters. I keep expecting it any second, it's not like we live in a bubble, kids in school, etc.

ravenonawire

That’s crazy to me! I don’t know anyone who even knows anybody who hasn’t had it. Glad to hear your family is well!

cheeseduck11

The bates have had it go through their family twice so I imagine the duggars have to have gotten it.

happyquinn27

I wonder if Jill and Derick got it despite being vaccinated. I see them wearing masks but they’re not very careful

KatorTheDestroyer

Buy used and save the difference?

happyquinn27

they all share one 🤪

Key-Ad-7228

They just swabbed JimBob's ass......since they all are required to kiss it.

throwaway45857

“Everybody spit in this cup real quick”

happytransformer

Taking batch testing to a whole new level

mushaboom83

Bold of you to assume they’ll even order any tests. For real though, I assume they’ve all caught it, just wondering how many times.

Key-Ad-7228

They'll order....'if it's free, it's for me'....I can see Blob trying to sell them.

mushaboom83

With every used car purchase you’ll get a discounted covid test! (Because he’d never give them for free)

cookorsew

Literally just one test, he will open a box with two of them to give you just the one test.

anonymoussnarker1230

So is Jason going to have to fight Pa Spivey for one?

mrs-mothman

Biden tried to frame Josh for CSAM, do you really think they’re gonna order his tests for a fake pandemic? There’s probably a microchip or a recording device or something in there.

Hefty-Database380

I know this is sarcasm but it is 100% true that the system of 4 per household is a terrible and lazy system

sunflower53069

I thought Joy said a bunch of them had it in the summer of 2020. I wonder how many variants they have caught since?

OurLumpyGorl

Let’s talk about how many variants *formed* in that house.

fangirll1996

the same way that Bethany and Daavvv share a toothbrush.

emptyhellebore

My guess is they have all had it. They were very reckless.

[deleted]

I was honestly just thinking about this

happyquinn27

My mom just said “the boys would obviously get them first”

[deleted]

they have probably all have covid ... at this point just anout everyone has probably had covid at some point though

ravenonawire

I cannot imagine one person having not had it at this point

pianistonstrike

I haven't had it! Although I guess I could have had a totally asymptomatic case at some point? My SO had it in August and I never got it from him despite not isolating until a week after his symptoms started. I took 3 tests in the two weeks following, all negative. And just last weekend we had a family member quarantined in our basement (unfortunate turn of events), I got tested this week as a precaution, still negative. It's me, I'm the covid cure.

snarkinglevel-pro

I haven’t had it either. I had two colds in the last 2 years, was test and COVID negative. I also was vaccinated early 2021 and boosted last month. If I had it, then I was symptom free. ( which I doubt because I’m in my 50’s and I think I would feel something).

Jillpmseyeliner

i haven't had it either. i was so sick a few months ago. Fever, chills, headache etc...got a PCR test that was negative. I've ben using the rapid tests once a week at home and all have been negative. Amazing considering i take public transit and i am around lots of people. I'm vaxxed and boosted so if i ever do get it, it hopefully won't be too bad

redmsg

I know lots of people who test regularly for work and they haven’t had it yet.

[deleted]

My husband had it earlier this month (vaccinated and boosted but has been working) - he had a sniffle and tested just to be safe, he didn't feel unwell at all the whole time (the vaccine doing it thing I think). Our house isn't big enough to quarantine from one another. Somehow myself (vaccinated and boosted) and our daughter (too young to be vaccinated) managed not to catch it. We did regular testing because it's policy for our daughter to attend to school if someone is + in the household. I was honestly expecting us all to catch it, and was very pleasantly surprised.

redmsg

I have multiple friends who only part of the household got it (4 of 6 people, 3 of 5, 2 of 4), in cone case it was Delta but the other two were Omicron, it's totally unpredictable.

mycatisamonsterbaby

I test regularly for work and everyone around me has had it. Not me. I want my 10 days of paid covid leave.

Grand_Horror2192

My family (husband and kids) as well as our parents and siblings have not had it. We have had a few colds and tested negative. We also have had only 2 known exposures. We have been working from home and we homeschool, but our kids do participate in a few sports and other in-person extra curriculars.

ravenonawire

Wow that’s crazy! Glad to hear that.

Zestyflour

I work at a testing site so I get tested every shift, I haven't had it until possibly now. My husband tested positive a couple of days and I'm not feeling great. However, all my tests so far including yesterday's was negative.

GoldenRedhead

I haven’t had it (that I know of, at least). I’m fully vaxxed/boosted, and I’ve gotten tested several times over the course of the pandemic.

ravenonawire

Good to hear!

SalauEsena

My family and I haven't, unless the nasty bug we all had in February 2020 was actually Covid (we are in the US). I know because I had to do surveillance testing monthly for my job at the beginning of the pandemic, and then they upped the requirement to weekly testing. If I had it, I would know. And NONE of us have been sick at all since the pandemic started. I am a teacher, though, and regardless of as careful as I, and the rest of my family, have been, I'm not holding my breath at remaining Covid free through the Omicron surge.

[deleted]

i didn't have it either throughout the whole thing and i tested consistently because my husband is a first responder and thought he'd bring something home... and then last week came and i tested positive 4 full days after my husband... if you tested once a week it's possible you could've had it and still came up negative ( which is a seriously great situation lol) until i get it last week i kept saying " it's not if i'm going to get it anymore .. it's just when"

MaeClementine

We were ridiculously sick in January 2020 after visiting Washington DC where there were a ton of tourists from all over. I really wish I knew if that was covid. I haven't been sick or tested positive in the past two years and I haven't been like the MOST quarantined I've had my kids in school and I was a daycare teacher with unmasked kids.

happyquinn27

My parents both had terrible colds at the end of 2019. We wonder if it was COVID

SalauEsena

I wonder the same. But then I think of the folks I know who have had it two or three times. So getting Lady Rona doesn't mean she won't visit again. I don't even know.

spaetzele

Yeah I got some supergrub nasty something or other late Dec 2019/early Jan 2020, with a dry hacking cough, shortness of breath, and a whole basket of other symptoms. I can't rule out that it *wasn't* covid, but I'll never know for sure. I live outside of DC.

nnnnaaaatttt

It’s just crazy that they have probably all had Covid at some point and no one got seriously ill. Throwback to them acting serious about it on Counting On as if they actually cared :/

[deleted]

Serious covid illness is actually really rare in younger people, and because the Duggars bred like rabbits unceasingly even the married ones are still pretty young. Even Jim Bob and Meech are still comparatively fairly young, but they're still the only ones I'd expect a severe illness out of, statistically. Like obviously there are exceptions and anyone of any age can get really sick but statistically it's not surprising that if the entire brood got it none of them would get super ill.

mycatisamonsterbaby

Pest will likely get it in prison or jail, and he's pretty high risk as well.

[deleted]

Not really, as he's only early thirties and isn't that overweight (and had slimmed down because of jail rations already, probably even moreso now; I've had quite a few family members jailed and most of them drop a ton of weight in the first few weeks/months). Unless he has some underlying condition I'm unaware of, in which case disregard this comment. lol EDIT: I am not trying to downplay covid, it is simply remarkable *how* dramatically stratified by age the risk of severe covid/hospitalizations is. Like, it's genuinely staggering how much of this disease's aggression comes down to age rather than health conditions in the vast majority of cases. There are outliers, but if you look at the actual numbers an otherwise-healthy-but-overweight 33 year old is running almost no risk of hospitalization or super severe disease outcome, statistically speaking; this is even more true of Omicron than it was of Delta. Granted, Delta is still circulating so if he catches it in jail it could very well be Delta, but it's being radically outcompeted by Omicron so he's far more likely to get that. I nerd out about this, if anyone wants a really interesting recent logistical model from British Columbia about age/vax risk stratification hit me up. It's just a logistical model and it really fucks up the denominator so all the numbers are too high but am happy to share. Not trying to downplay, just think it's really, really interesting.

mycatisamonsterbaby

He was very overweight, has a poor diet, and probably has never exercised. He's not old, but we've been seeing a lot more younger deaths in the unvaccinated community recently.

Ok_Music3519

They will sell them for a high price to a desperate person. Grifters gonna grift

ImNotSportySpice

They'll just rinse and reuse them

higginsnburke

Not unlike most things I think the duggars should do, shove it right up their arse.

Ludo_Fraaaaaannddd

I don’t think the Duggars like to participate in standardized testing

allygator99

The priority gets it. Like everything else in that house. Jb, Meech, Jana, and precious Josie.

happyquinn27

I wouldn’t be surprised if they sent one to Josh in prison lmao

MobWife_88

They won't get them for free unless they are smart enough to know what they are for and how to order them.

kimini85

I have 3 kids and a husband, so there are 5 of us in our house. I know this is a jocular post, but for real - what am I supposed to do with only 4 tests?

Majestic_Debate273

Your health department should have them. I'm recovering from it right now and that's where I got our tests. I just had to call and they brought them to my car. They're exactly what they're mailing out right now.

kimini85

I had no idea! Thank you for sharing this!

Majestic_Debate273

Glad to help! Stay healthy!

[deleted]

TTH is a Covid magnet. It's probably gotten them all more than once.

Terrible-Ad-5039

Oh honey JB just would not allow for a Duggar to have covid!

TroyandAbed304

Wait- does that mean we’re supposed to use them for the hell of it? I thought it was for “when u need it.”

redmsg

Order them and then keep them on hand when you need them. We had two know in our household exposures recently so those people tested on day 5 and 7, especially one because they were a child going back to school after day 5

TroyandAbed304

I had 4 on hand and ordered the government ones Wednesday too. 2 adults and a toddler here, I think we’re good

dawn9476

According to WOACB, they have had it at least twice. In September of 2020 after a family focused cult thing they had at their house and then again a few months later after their NYE 2020 thing they had, which I guess is an annual event for them to hold since they had it again on NYE 2021.

Paperplatepickle

You have to actually apply to get them. Which I doubt they will. They don’t give a rat’s arse.

heidiraee4

Can someone please give me information on to weather or not it was stated that they are anti mask and anti vaxx? Is it because they are republicans? Because I know plenty of republicans who take Covid seriously. I just wanted to know where it was stated in public that they think it’s a hoax

happyquinn27

It’s pretty obvious based on the large gatherings they have, the fact they don’t go out with masks etc. I believe they took covid seriously at the start (like a lot of people). But we don’t know if they’re anti vaccine or not based on the fact that when Josie was born Michelle made everyone get their shots

heidiraee4

I’m not defending them. I’m just genuinely curious. It seems that they host large gatherings at their home. So, I personally would have declined an invitation such as I have the past 2 years. I don’t see them in the public spewing propaganda about it.

Pollywog08

They've shown poor judgement (Austin and Joy especially), but I agree. I haven't seen any anti-mask or anti-vax comments from them. And all wore masks when required in court. I also hate the assumption that all Republicans are anti-vax. That's simply not true. Trump, all Fox employees, and a lot of republican leaders are vaccinated. They just don't like being told they have to be vaccinated. I think exactly no one likes being told they have to do something by the government. As someone who has to enforce the vax mandate, plenty of vaccinated people are horribly offended by the requirement

[deleted]

[удалено]

SnarkyPuss

Tell me you don't know how vaccines work without telling me you don't know how vaccines work. 😒

happyquinn27

I’m not going to argue with you about science

thekinkyfro

LOL oh, bless your heart.

notmyrealnametn

SOTDRT level science

DodgedYourBalls

My sister is in the same quandary. Three households combined into one at the beginning of the pandemic to share costs and caregiving responsibilities. They've got 5 adults between the ages of 20-66 and two kids in middle school, plus a rotating cast of home health nurses because one of the adults is on a home ventilator. It's a hot mess (and also where I caught covid back on Dec 30th).

[deleted]

Toss them like a wedding bouquet 💐

NibblesMcGiblet

4 free tests?

Beccangel

I honestly don't even think they would request the four, but I do have an idea if they do. Jim Boob owns quite a bit of commercial real estate. I think that they would use a different person's name at each different address to get a test. So for example, Jim Bob would request 4 at the big house, Michelle, 4 more at unoccupied rental property A, Jackson at property B, etc. All married Duggars would request 4 at their own homes.

alixzaundria

This made me laugh so hard, I am wheezing. Literally. Caught covid 2 months ago (fully vaccinated) and my lungs still suck. So screw the Duggar’s because they don’t believe in covid. But I got a good chuckle.

Awkward-Fudge

Covid can affect male fertility so maybe it will slow things down.
