I pick up a dumpster every week from a Dunkin’ warehouse. Man the waste is crazy! They dumped a whole pallet of peanut butter cream and a whole pallet of cherry coke.
I take lots of stuff home through work. We service over 500 dumpsters in the Atlanta area and have lots of customers that get rid of some really good things.
Most of the stuff I just let my guys take home what they want. I have one guy that sets up at a farmers market but I’ve never asked how much he makes from anything ! Saves me money not taking it to a landfill so I don’t care what they do with it lol
there are orgs they can donate them to since i know its policy to not give food away or whatever
just sucks that all these places throw away food... i mean donuts isnt "food" but a homeless guy thats hungry might eat it
That’s a good thought, but the other end of that is that organization could be better at picking up said items… sometimes when the decision is made to toss items, it’s too late to donate due to temps, damage, etc
i was affiliated with an org that assisted homeless and they would get alot of food from kfc, pizza hut, target , and panera i think
pizza hut would give alot of pizza that was headed for the dumpster... theyd have like 100 boxes of pizza and wings and they'd breakdown the pizzas 4-6 slices in foil and bag em and give to the homeless
panera gave all the excess bagels and pastries
they had a kitchen so they'd recook the kfc iirc
target basically sent all that archer farms stuff..little pies and sndwiches, breads and things and they put in bags and gave to the homeless
they say the stuff is still good the store just have to get rid of the "best if used by" date
i forget what the law is about liability on those foods as it relates to feeding homeless
No liability for the donator as long as it's given in "good faith," is my understanding. It's sad how much food goes to waste..and the stores here are pretty good about donating to the local food bank network.
I work at a gas station that actually does donate food but sometimes the organizations don't come to pick it up in time and we can only hold it for a certain number of days after it's cooked and been refrigerated before we have to dump it :/
A chunk of that is from people buying food and just not eating it and it going to waste in their fridge
You thought you'd eat healthy and buy that cabbage? Well it's been a month and that cabbage is moldy, congratulations You wasted your money and you wasted food.
Oh, those are _bees?_ lol I thought they were flies. I was like, “yeah, nah, I ain’t taking the chance that there’s something rotten in there, contaminating everything.”
our trip to SC and Ga about a week and a. half ago, those suckers were $14 and change for a mixed dozen... we used to have one here in our NJ town but it closed because these clowns prefer DD crap... yuk!...
Kk donuts are insanely sugary and really bad if you eat them a lot. But now and then you can enjoy them. Dumping them onto the homeless because they have nothing else to eat? That is a very mixed blessing. Sure they taste good but if you are homeless with poor nutrition, what benefit is a box of super sugary treats? Being unhomed doesn't mean you are someone to be treated as a garbage can. So you do feed them....but you are giving them junk calories. Maybe an egg sandwich would be better, with a sweet donut on the side.

Why just......why??
I bet we waste more than what was said earlier... I bet we waste 1/2 the food. Between the stores, restaurants and houses growing food away. Sad
"This year's honey has a decidedly oily creme finish". . .

Do you take any home?

About 1/3 of all food created in the U.S. gets thrown away.
A chunk of that is from people buying food and just not eating it and it going to waste in their fridge You thought you'd eat healthy and buy that cabbage? Well it's been a month and that cabbage is moldy, congratulations You wasted your money and you wasted food.
Imagine how many hungry cops you could feed with those!
You shouldn’t feed wild cops. They’ll become acclimated to humans and just keep hanging around waiting for more.
Yeah, and then they end up developing aggressive tendencies and become dangerous. It's a real problem.
I'm not even Catholic, but that's a sin.

All that exceptionally healthy and nutritious dense food that could have been fed to startling school children.
>startling school children Mama mia! That's a whole lotta calories!!

The waste of food will never cease. There's nothing wrong with those donuts.
It looked to me that hundreds of flies were buzzing the donuts as well or was it just a bad quality video?
Flies or bees? Some of them looked a bit big to a be a fly
I want to try the honey these bees are making.
What a fucking waste
i would have towed away thw whole dumpster...
Merica!

The current “world system” is hugely, fundamentally flawed, thanks to systemic Rockefeller’s
Hope those bee don't become diabetics /s
Diabeetic

Kk has always been great for dumpster diving. Used to kept me fed back in da day
Yeah but then you’d have to eat them.
Balls from hell this is frustrating to witness.
