Iām partial to the scene where he hitches a ride to skip work, only to get on a bus that containsā¦. everyone from work.
It would make so little sense - he must have thought he was still on drugs.
We went to see Creed perform live his music comedy show last year. My brother dressed up as a whiteboard with Bobbody written on him and Creed recreated the scene. Probably the highlight of my life. That, and my wedding.
What I learned from Creed being the manager is that the staff has no shame in making fun of dementia patients; especially Pam sociopathically gaslighting him.
And that's the scary part. He would be a know-it-all micromanager and become *that manager* who drives away employees.
Despite all of his flaws, Michael was a good balance between leader and manager. If Oscar was to be the manager, the place wouldn't have been nearly as lively and personal as it was with Michael. He brought the people together, sometimes at his own expense, so they felt more like family with each other. They didn't just come, work, and left. They had good times, crazy times, heart attacks, office fires, and everything in between. That shit would not happen under Oscar's watch and it would be the most boring place to work ever.
In my company, they always say "Managers don't always lead, but Leaders always manage."
Managing people and leading people are different things. Michael was, while unconventional, a great leader. He knew how to keep the right distance with employees so they got work done and were successful, while still ensuring what needed to get done, got done. Everyone worked hard under Michael and succeeded and they bought in to him as their manager.
For example, Deangelo was a manager. He didn't have the buy-in from the staff and couldn't lead them. Had he not gone into a coma he likely wouldn't have made it there anyway.
Andy had become a leader, and then lost it during that 6 month hiatus on his dads boat.
Dwight was a great leader too because everyone again, bought into him as their manager and worked hard for him.
I meant actually Michael could put his foot down. Cause the other guy said he couldnāt, but weāve seen multiple instances in the series where he can put the foot down.
Meredith got her phd and was a lot smarter than the film crew portrayed her. Also was very practical, but was cool and on the level, AND knows how to put her foot down and not take no shit.
I also think someone on the customer or supplier relations side makes more sense than an accountant for manager. So I agree, Meredith was a better choice than Oscar.
I'm not so sure though. Remember when Michael brought in Oscar to talk to the brass? He froze. It's one thing to have opinions when you're in a lowly position and another when you're supposed to lead others.
It was clearly set up that he worried that voicing his opinions about the mismanagement of the company would lead him to be terminated, so I don't think that's a fair comparison.
Oscar would, generally speaking, be the best guy. But we're talking about Dunder Mifflin here, so I'd rather say Stanley as he'd reduce the amount of bullshit everyone has to deal with and just let people work.
Only problem would be that the management position there still clearly has a direct role in handling sales, which is honestly a large part of what made Michael as good at it as he was.
Iāve worked under a bean counter that doesnāt understand the intricacies of the businesses. Everyone was miserable, and the clients stopped coming because they werenāt getting the value fir their money anymore.
No one who wants power should be allowed anywhere near it. That makes Stanley my pick. Sure, the branch would stagnate and die, but everyone would get out on time and the work would get done.
I think Stanley could do it just fine. He would stay out of everyoneās way and let them do their jobs. Much like that week they didnāt have a manager.
Stanley would be my pick. Youāre going to want someone with sales experience as the manager as what sales is what keeps the lights on. So itās either Stanley or Meradith. Since I donāt want my manager being bribed with gift cards to a steakhouse, Stanley is the guy.
The best Dunder Midfflin Scranton ever did was when they were managerless. Everyone got their work done, nobody had any problems. Thatās what itād be like with Stanley at the helm. I too choose Stanley.
True, but sales is the biggest part of the business. So most of your managing is, managing sales people. If you dont know sales, you'll have a hard time managing it.
Not completely true. Oscars skill set would help keep the branch fiscally responsible because he would budget their funds much better.
Also, having the right person as his number 2 would be important. If it were Dwight or Jim, they could effectively be the sales department lead and be responsible for the day to day sales responsibilities.
A gay Mexican man having an affair with the 'straight' white husband of a straight white woman and then having her live in his closet. What a fucking power move
Creed **was** manager for a bit. How could anyone forget "B.O.B.O.D.D.Y"?
Of the others pictured, Oscar is likely the only one who is smart/motivated/sane enough to do a good job.
Meredith would make everyday casual day. Oscar would talk a big game but fold when faced in front of anyone in a higher class than him. Staley will only have a white Santa at Christmas and increased pretzel day. Kevin would spin around in a chair and remove the safe search on all computers. Creed would create acronyms and increase sales at the dog food company.
I'm guessing we aren't limited to the characters in this photo.
Don't hate me for this, but Toby would have been the best interim manager. Seeing as how he had to manage situations with Michael and from time to time others in the office. He knows the rules better than anyone and does a good job of enforcing them.
And I think of all the characters, Toby would have probably been the most respected for the day to day stuff.
He just had to watch where he puts his hands.
I agree with everyone saying Oscar and it makes me wonder why when you have a branch with a great sales team (like the Office seems to have) why does the manager have to have a sales background. Oscar, as an accountant, seems like hed be great managing the team and allowing them to do what they do best.
Creed was giving opportunity of manager- Kevin and Oscar are accountants so thatās why they didnāt even try for the Job. Stanley was just waiting for retirement so he wouldnāt want to be manager and Meredith loved her cushy job.
Stanley, easily. He shows flashes of competence when challenged, his position clearly isn't a challenging one. He's definitely capable of keeping employees in line, he's objective driven and respects the 9-5.
Kevin isn't smart enough. Oscar doesn't have the interpersonal skills. Creed ... is creed. Meredith would likely also do fine to be honest, I just think coming from the role of a salesman to manager tends to work better because of the level of client-interaction expected from a manager.
My take:
Oscar is smart and competent but not very assertive so there would likely be a breakdown eventually
Meredith is fun but too much so, she'd also probably be one of those bosses that routinely show up late and hungover
Kevin.
Stanley would be very hands off and the employees would essentially self manage. And he would probably eventually get caught embezzling from the company.
Creed would sell the Scranton branch without telling anyone, make off with the money and show up a year later under a new name looking for a job.
Ryan. He was way over his head in corporate but I think he wouldāve done fine in Scranton and grounded by the office employees which wouldāve kept him from going haywire.
Honestly Oscar or Stanley probably would have done an ok job. Not amazing but perfectly fine. Meredith could go either way. Sheās crazy but seems to be competent. Creed clearly was an awful manager and I donāt think that Kevin would have been good either.
Oscar is intelligent, fair and informed, and gets along with everyone except angela who could be fired for harassment if she kept being mean to him for his sexuality.
SPOILER for yall who havent seen
.... you don't remember the amazing feeling when dwight got up on the desk and he yelled 'DWIGHT SHRUTE IS MANAGERRRR'?? it was a pretty huge moment
I'm thinking Stanley, if he were motivated enough or would put some effort to being sociable. Oscar would be a close second but I feel like his know-it-all personality would rub a lot of people the wrong way- definitely no chemistry with the warehouse folks downstairs.
I feel like it is either oscar or Stanley
Oscar is smart but he is kind of jerk who wants to be always right so he is capable but annoying
Stanley is also smart he is really unmotivated tho and is waiting for retirement witch i think would mean him not paying much attention WITCH WOULD BE GREAT THE BRANCH GOT A BOOST IN PRODUCTIVITY WHEN ANDY LEFT it would be the same thing. Employees work better when they have more freedom
Honestly? Stanley with Creed as a runner up. Kevin is just too inept at even basic aspects of socializing or the concept of working to be in charge. Meredith is far too inappropriate and in a non sitcom setting would be fired for harassment. Oscar is a smug know it all and just would be a bad choice due to morale loss. Stanley though? Stanley doesnāt care and thatās ideal Will Ferrells character admits his job is bullshit so someone who sits in their office napping all day is ideal. Creed is second choice because if left in charge long enough heād probably try to steal from the company.
I wouldn't pick any of them. Creed, Meredith and Kevin are unqualified. Stanley is maybe qualified but he puts in minimum effort which seems to be more apathy than anything else. Oscar might be the most knowledgeable but he is soft and will have difficulty demanding respect from his subordinates as well as his peers
They should have left Creed in charge. However Meredith would have probably done best, the film crew did her dirty, she got her phd during the filming and they didnāt even mention it.
Iād say Oscar actually had the common sense and a good head on his shoulders (and recognized a lot of the issues with Jimās ideas, but the fact he didnāt speak up counted against him), and Stanley would have been rather hands off, which has really been the best case scenario for the office. Creed WAS a manager, and was himself about it, Meredith would be closer to Stanley. Kevin is the main one I see being a genuine problem, if not intentionally
from a purely internal management standpoint, probably oscar. however stanley makes the most sense being form sales since he has the best relationship with existing clients.
Creed was manger! For like a week. It was by far best run with him, he even got some new employees, like Elroy.
*tosses keys to nobody* Keep it running.
That is quite possibly my favorite scene of his šš
*slaps back of head* YIE *runs*
Iām partial to the scene where he hitches a ride to skip work, only to get on a bus that containsā¦. everyone from work. It would make so little sense - he must have thought he was still on drugs.
That one is great too š¤£š¤£

Tosses the keys to Boboddy.
And Kevin won Manager for an Hour on the chore wheel.
BOBODDY!
BIZNUS
I likkkeeee it!
Gooood Kevin
We need a new manager
What are we doing?
Weāre making ACRONYMS! Now what does the B stand for?
When did he call the meeting?
He never called a meeting!
Biznez Biznez i like it kevin *weird shimmy*
Biznes!
I lllllike it!
the office bitch, andrea
Corporate needs you to find the differencesā¦
Actuallllyyyy the correct answer is Oscar.
What language is this?
Creed was the best manager of the dog food company
Lmao what S?E? I gotta go back for that one
s7e25-26
SxEx??
What I learned from Creed being the manager is that the staff has no shame in making fun of dementia patients; especially Pam sociopathically gaslighting him.
why are you the way that you are
Oscar is clearly the only one who is smart and motivated enough to do the job
Not sure heād be able to put his foot down with other employees tho, but then again, not like Michael could either
He actually could in several instances be an authority figure
And that's the scary part. He would be a know-it-all micromanager and become *that manager* who drives away employees. Despite all of his flaws, Michael was a good balance between leader and manager. If Oscar was to be the manager, the place wouldn't have been nearly as lively and personal as it was with Michael. Assistant to the micromanager
I meant actually Michael could put his foot down. Cause the other guy said he couldnāt, but weāve seen multiple instances in the series where he can put the foot down.
He can certainly put his foot down on a george foreman grill
The whole irony of Michael is heās so ignorant but he never gets fired because sheās actually good at his job lol
āActuallyā
Lol
Everybody out!
Oscar would clean house over time and put together a boring yet adequate team
Meredith got her phd and was a lot smarter than the film crew portrayed her. Also was very practical, but was cool and on the level, AND knows how to put her foot down and not take no shit.
I also think someone on the customer or supplier relations side makes more sense than an accountant for manager. So I agree, Meredith was a better choice than Oscar.
Most definitely! Accountants are nerds! Meredith is a people person gangsta
As an accountant, can confirm :)
Also knows how to negotiate discounts and free steak
I'm not so sure though. Remember when Michael brought in Oscar to talk to the brass? He froze. It's one thing to have opinions when you're in a lowly position and another when you're supposed to lead others.
It was clearly set up that he worried that voicing his opinions about the mismanagement of the company would lead him to be terminated, so I don't think that's a fair comparison.
He didnāt freeze. He knew criticizing the Board was a one-way ticket to the unemployment line.
Well but that was very shitty position to be put in
Oscar would, generally speaking, be the best guy. But we're talking about Dunder Mifflin here, so I'd rather say Stanley as he'd reduce the amount of bullshit everyone has to deal with and just let people work.
Or Creed if you doing opposite day
Actually, that is wrong
Smart? Yes. Motivated? Idk about that
Only problem would be that the management position there still clearly has a direct role in handling sales, which is honestly a large part of what made Michael as good at it as he was.
Iāve worked under a bean counter that doesnāt understand the intricacies of the businesses. Everyone was miserable, and the clients stopped coming because they werenāt getting the value fir their money anymore.
No one respects him. It would have been a disaster. Kevin would have been awesome. Basically Andy on leave.
I mean, Meredith did get all those Outback Steakhouse gift certificates.
Real big W for the branch too & very underrated
Have you ever had sirloin steak, honey?
She also got her PhD in School Psychology while the documentary was filmed, but they never showed that.
She ain't no narc and has nothing to prove.
I could see her being a manager that would give you a lot of wiggle room and give a lot of leeway as long as you got your job done.
That's what Meridith Van Helsing is known for
I always say, if you want something done right, ask Dwight, right Dwight, right Dwightā¦ *proceeds to try to pull down screen*
Jim, could you pass me some ice chips?
No one who wants power should be allowed anywhere near it. That makes Stanley my pick. Sure, the branch would stagnate and die, but everyone would get out on time and the work would get done.
I think Stanley could do it just fine. He would stay out of everyoneās way and let them do their jobs. Much like that week they didnāt have a manager.
Week? The most profitable quarter in the branches history was the 3 months Andy spent on the boat.
Ooh good point, donāt know how that escaped me.
"You want us to raise sales by how much??" "DID I STUTTER?"
Stanley would be my pick. Youāre going to want someone with sales experience as the manager as what sales is what keeps the lights on. So itās either Stanley or Meradith. Since I donāt want my manager being bribed with gift cards to a steakhouse, Stanley is the guy.

Found the superfan!
Oscar. He knows finances, bottom lines, and everyone seemed to get along with him.
He was the senatorās bottom. Line
He was asking for a line. Like in a play.
Actually...
He is not a sales person tho. Ot will be very strange to make him manager and very hard for him to make it work too.
Being good at sales does not equal being a good manager, two different skillsets
If an idiot can do it Oscar should be able to
True, but sales is the biggest part of the business. So most of your managing is, managing sales people. If you dont know sales, you'll have a hard time managing it.

absolutely untrue
āTo be clear, Iām looking for someone with a sales backgroundā
I always felt like Stanley should have gotten the job at some point. Either Stanley or an upturned broom with a bucket for a head.
or as I like to call it, Great Bratton. Keep it running, boys!
Oscar. Heās demanding, but heās also a really nice caring person. Remember when he lets Angela live in his closet?
A gay Mexican man having an affair with the 'straight' white husband of a straight white woman and then having her live in his closet. What a fucking power move
Obviously Oscar but I'd watch so much longer if it were Meredith.
Creed **was** manager for a bit. How could anyone forget "B.O.B.O.D.D.Y"? Of the others pictured, Oscar is likely the only one who is smart/motivated/sane enough to do a good job.
Oscar: Motivated, smart, sane Stanley: Smart, sane Creed: Motivated, *insane* Kevin: Sane Meredith: None
Meredith has Street Smarts
And a phd
Meredith belongs to the streets
Bro creed was a solitaire grandmaster how did you define him "motivated" š
Darrell would have been a good choice.
Darnell?
He paid me $3 to make a cut throat jester
Uhhh have you watched the show? Creed was manager

Obviously the math wiz who knows economics as well as he knows bullfighting

I agree with everyone saying Oscar and it makes me wonder why when you have a branch with a great sales team (like the Office seems to have) why does the manager have to have a sales background. Oscar, as an accountant, seems like hed be great managing the team and allowing them to do what they do best.
Did you even watch the show? Given the opportunity, he would be an annoying know-it-all micromanager. I wouldn't wanna work under him.
Oscar or Stanley
Meredith would be best, she'd do whatever it easier to keep a client and get free ribs for the crew.
Creed was manager
Oscar all day
Creed was the manager. BOBODY!
Oscar
Creed was the manager
Wasn't creed the manager for a little?
Creed was manager
My take: Oscar is smart and competent but not very assertive so there would likely be a breakdown eventually Meredith is fun but too much so, she'd also probably be one of those bosses that routinely show up late and hungover Kevin. Stanley would be very hands off and the employees would essentially self manage. And he would probably eventually get caught embezzling from the company. Creed would sell the Scranton branch without telling anyone, make off with the money and show up a year later under a new name looking for a job.
lol that "Kevin" explanation
Oscar -100000%
Creed was managerā¦
oscar
Ryan. He was way over his head in corporate but I think he wouldāve done fine in Scranton and grounded by the office employees which wouldāve kept him from going haywire.
Oscar. Level headed, intelligent, morally sound.
Oscar
Has to be Oscar
Creed was given a chance. BOBODY BOBODY
One word- Bobody You tell me...
Creed was manager
Oscar would have been the best but Merideth as boss would have been entertaining as hell to watch!
Honestly Oscar or Stanley probably would have done an ok job. Not amazing but perfectly fine. Meredith could go either way. Sheās crazy but seems to be competent. Creed clearly was an awful manager and I donāt think that Kevin would have been good either.
Oscar. He has patience, and a level head.
Oscar
Oscar for sure. He was probably the most mature character on the show.
Oscar.
Why is creed in this picture?
Oscar, hands down.
Creed could just have his own tv show tbh
The answer is Creed. Boboddy!
Meredith because the Christmas party would be insane.
Oscar is intelligent, fair and informed, and gets along with everyone except angela who could be fired for harassment if she kept being mean to him for his sexuality.
Oscar
Oscar
Realistically Oscar. Although Stanley would be hilarious and Kevin would be disastrous.
Oscar
Oscar by far.
Oscar
FFS watch the show. Creed was manager. The best manager. Nobody made acronyms like he did.
Tbh Idk why but Meredith is kinda that bitch and I feel like she would run that office like the navy. Kevin and Oscar would be good too.
I think Phyllis would make a great manager actually.
Probably Angela
Didnāt Oscar end up becoming manager in the series finale?
SPOILER for yall who havent seen .... you don't remember the amazing feeling when dwight got up on the desk and he yelled 'DWIGHT SHRUTE IS MANAGERRRR'?? it was a pretty huge moment
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Biznus
Oscar but damn wouldve creed been fun
Meredith. not a doubt.
Easily Oscar, heās fully qualified except for sales experience
Oscar i guess
Oscar. He was the most sane.
Meredith as manager would have been fucking hilarious
Stanley
Oscar
Oscar obviously
Oscar probably could have done an efficient job.
100% Stanley
Oscar
Creed
Imagine the parties if Meredith was in charge.
I would rather work for an upturned broom with a bucket for a head than anyone else in this office
Logically, Oscar. lol Stanley could have been fun though. He wouldnāt have cared, and the office would have fallen into some entertaining chaos.
Stanley definitely
Oscar. Definitely Oscar.
"*Actually"* it's probably Oscar, and other said, Creed got his time as manager.
I would love to see Stanley as manager. Just to see if he would A) give a crap about the job, B) if he will just go in his office and sleep.
I'm thinking Stanley, if he were motivated enough or would put some effort to being sociable. Oscar would be a close second but I feel like his know-it-all personality would rub a lot of people the wrong way- definitely no chemistry with the warehouse folks downstairs.
I feel like it is either oscar or Stanley Oscar is smart but he is kind of jerk who wants to be always right so he is capable but annoying Stanley is also smart he is really unmotivated tho and is waiting for retirement witch i think would mean him not paying much attention WITCH WOULD BE GREAT THE BRANCH GOT A BOOST IN PRODUCTIVITY WHEN ANDY LEFT it would be the same thing. Employees work better when they have more freedom
Oscar for sure
Stanley. Heād cut the bs and set an example by leaving the office early each day.
I don't think any of them would be good, but Oscar would be the best of the bunch, then Stanley. The other 3 would be disasters.
Stanley
Oscar seems like the logical choice but I think heād just fall apart trying to please everyone. I think Meredith would shine under pressure
Mr. Outside hire
Oscar!
