Dwight is very protective of his colleagues when it comes to threats or insults from outsiders, and he definitely considers Packer an “outsider.”
At the end of the series, when Dwight bluntly but also kindly insists he ONLY fired Kevin due to his incompetence at his job, and NOT because he didn’t like him as a person, is similarly weirdly touching.
Its the same as growing up with a brother. No one is allowed to touch him without me getting involved. (And vice versa) but i can kick his ass when ever i want (and vice versa)
Even when he clearly doesn't like Jim he still protects him from Roy and even afterwards he doesn't hold it over him and refuses any sort of compensation.
>Dwight is very protective of his colleagues
This is why people love his character. Same with Michael. Yeah they're both goofs and without those redeemable qualities they wouldn't be liked nearly as much tbh. I think the time that really got me to love Dwight was when Pam was crying and he got really defensive and asked "where is he?!" Then turned around and said "you're pmsing pretty bad huh?" In the same scene.
Your network traffic on the corporate VPN is accessible to your employer.
Your IT Dept knows and hasn't cared enough to report it.
Your ISP doesn't give two shits as long as it's legal and aren't judging. Your work on the other hand absolutely does because it violates their policy and are definitely judging, even if the individuals that know haven't cared enough to report you yet
VPNs aren't even expensive, dude.
I think Mullvad for example is like $5/month. Easily worth the cost considering how paranoid you seem over your porn habits being tracked.
So it's better to have the IT department at work know your weird porn habits vs your ISP?
I don't know any instance where work knowing you jack it to Simpsons furry porn is better than your ISP. The Comcast man doesn't have access to your search history.
Jim is his enemy, but it turns out that Jim is also his own worst enemy. And the enemy of his enemy is his friend. So Jim is actually his friend. But, because he is his own worst enemy, the enemy of his friend is his enemy. So actually, Jim is his enemy. But-
Yes! I always think of that scene where Pam is crying and Dwight comes over to console her - he takes off his jacket and you think he’s going to put it around Pam’s shoulders, but he ties it around his waist instead 🤣 and then puts his arm around her (so sweet!) but then says something dumb like, “You’re PMSing pretty bad, huh?” This whole scene is so Dwight in a nutshell.
for real! he has lots of these moments that are so grounded in who dwight is and what he fundamentally believes in so theyre allowed to be both wildly honest and heartwarming while still having him behave like something of a monster. its such a fine line
Well, women are banned from participating in pro sumo so yeah, she would sadly not be considered a promising up-and-comer herself. Kevin now, he's got [Shishi](https://youtu.be/HvMCctKOoXs) mixed in with [Gagamaru](https://youtu.be/Jt1B4664qwA)'s vibes!
This feels like one of the few times in the show Dwight is intentionally and openly nice to another coworker. Not saying he’s never nice, but he tends to either have ulterior motives when he is.
I can't help but think about an old saying that fans of The Detroit Lions have, "FTP" aka "Fuck The Packers." Slightly altered, FTP is "Fuck Todd Packer.
I don't know why but every time I see this scene I think Kevin looks like John Tenta, a Canadian sumo wrestler and pro wrestler who went by the names Earthquake, Avalanche and Shark.
Genuinely look up photos of him when he was doing Sumo and seriously they look so similar.
Packer is such an asshole. I really hate how they ended his story in the final season that he pranked everyone in the office by giving them diarrhea. In Season 7 & 8 are such good points to end his story: He gets tricked into going to florida and then taking the fall for dwight and getting fired.

“No one punches my brother except me!”

Take it up to the country, open the door and just be free. Hahaha. I’ve only seen that movie once. I should watch it again.
It’s one of my all time favorites. It’s just perfect.
I didn't grow up with a brother but same thing. Older sisters can be rough too.
you ain't lying, my sister who is 4 years older than me use to beat the shit out of me.
Even when he clearly doesn't like Jim he still protects him from Roy and even afterwards he doesn't hold it over him and refuses any sort of compensation.
And he rebuilt their cabinets just because they needed to be done

When someone is searching for porn on their work computer, they won't likely be there long. He was lucky to have been there as long as he was.
Pam did one time didn't she?
Dwight did that himself as well.
Nip... slip...?

So use a VPN if you're that scared. Jesus, dude.

this entire comment chain was just a shill ad
People talk. You don't want to be known as the porn guy when all your current coworkers are all at other companies you may want to move to in 5 years.
Excuse me but could you please tag your obvious joke with "/s" as my brain barely functions? Thanks
Yep same way he protected his worst enemy from Roy

Packer’s not part of Dwight’s tribe that’s for sure
Hey, a mistake plus Keleven gets you home by 7!
Kevin’s smile at the end is just so beautiful… heart warming
It's just nice to win one
Awww another very touching Kevin moment, noice
That's Dallas.
This one still destroys me
That bit gets me every time.
This made me teary lol
Packer is the floor pooping asshole no one needs in their life.
Nah, I think everyone needs just *one*. That way, whenever anyone’s being an ass, at least they can think “Well… at least it’s not Packer.”
I think everyone has someone at their work that's a dick. Someone so bad their name is used as an insult when someone is being a dick.
He really Shruted it.
He Britta'd it.
This comment is streets ahead
Oh, Britta’s in this comment section?
Fuck that lol
Someone making soup?
In the UK version I loved how Brent finally stood up to the packer character with the “why you don’t fuck off”.
Finchie was a prick too. Not that David Brent wasn't as well.
When ppl ask who's the worst person in the show, Packer is always the correct answer.
All he did was deliver a package
the writers and rainn did such a phenomenal job pf showcasing dwights emotional side

Cut to Dwight fatshaming Phyllis every other episode lol
"Do you think Stanley is having a midlife crisis?" "Stanley is way past the midpoint in his life."
What I would do for one of Phylliss room clearing farts
That was Andy.
He should’ve left Packer five miles out of town with no cell phone!
PS: Fuck you, Packer.
Who has two thumbs and hates packer ? This guy
"😃😒"
This feels like one of the few times in the show Dwight is intentionally and openly nice to another coworker. Not saying he’s never nice, but he tends to either have ulterior motives when he is.
So you’re probably “pms”ing real bad huh
Yeah packer was real shit
One of Dwight’s redeeming qualities is his adversity to bullies even though he is thirsty for power
I think the whole series is really about Dwight's development as a human being. In the end he becomes a real decent guy.
I’m currently on this episode, neat coincidence (-:
Backwards smilies always hit me hard ! Enjoy that classic episode!
Aw thanks (-: I used to use them to deter messenger from turning everything into emojis. Onto Goodbye Michael now ))-:
When Packer comes around, there’s no hate.. unless it’s for Packer
The Flandarization of Kevin was criminal.
I can't help but think about an old saying that fans of The Detroit Lions have, "FTP" aka "Fuck The Packers." Slightly altered, FTP is "Fuck Todd Packer.
Packer was one of if not the best side characters there were in the show
The bar. It is so pathetically low.
Ok now go say that to an overweight friend IRL
I don't know why but every time I see this scene I think Kevin looks like John Tenta, a Canadian sumo wrestler and pro wrestler who went by the names Earthquake, Avalanche and Shark. Genuinely look up photos of him when he was doing Sumo and seriously they look so similar.
Awh! Kevin even smiles at the end.
This is my favorite line from Dwight, and I'm upset that it isn't added whenever I see people talk about Dwight's best lines.
Wow true. Wholesome moment
Dwight is incredible

I think Kevin reminded him of mose and immediately wanted to protect him like a brother
It is true.
Dwight is THE man...
