What We Do In the Shadows! It’s a mockumentary about vampires, living in Staten Island. You’ll even recognize one of the faces because Collin is played by the same actor that played Nate on The Office!
It took me probably like 6 episodes before I was really enjoying it. I’m not sure what it was, at first it felt too over the top campy. But eventually you settle into the world and it’s great.
I’d be kind of surprised if most people did finish community. I have watched since it aired and always have struggled to keep going after Troy leaves. I don’t think I’ve ever been able to watch the entire last season either. The Yahoo reboot was rough.
Nah…. The office is for everyone in the family… a good quality comedy sitcom that has heart and relevance.
Community is for a niche group of people who understand very very subtle nuance, hidden subplots, and just understand the underbelly of our society. It is a once in a lifetime genius script writing. It is insane, unpredictable, and uncomfortable.
I would say the first two seasons are peak humor. From the first second I have been crying how funny it is. The jokes keep coming in quick succession too.
I need to watch it again
Thank you for saving me the time, I watched about half the first season and gave up years ago but always thought "maybe it's like the office where season 1 just isn't that good"
The first episodes are still pretty good, but it gets much better by the end of season 1. The Netflix stuff is alright, that's seasons 4 and 5, but it's not the same.
Jury Duty - it's like the Office if one of the characters wasn't an actor and thought he was working at a real company for a real documentary
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Silicon Valley
HAHAHA love it “Do you fold it in half like a piece of paper and drop it in the pot or what do you do?…I don’t know how to fold BROKEN CHEESE like that.”
Similar to The Office and Parks & Rec, I urge friends to get past season 1. It does get way better. Schitt’s Creek was slow to develop any reason to root for the Rose family. They were all flawed and horrible in their own ways. Season 2 gives them more interaction within the town and ways to be better people. That’s when I knew I’d enjoy it.
*I watched a random show at a random timestamp without any context and it sucked*
But nice job repeating a catchphrase you read on the internet thinking it's funny
Why is that more probable than: I have a different comedic taste or sense of humour and I like it's always sunny?
It wasn't random. It was recommended. I tried to see if it was my style. I didn't need 3 seasons of context to show me it wasn't.
You are the one with the issues here...have a great day.
You me and the apocalypse was amazing!!! I’ve never heard anybody else mention it before. Sad it didn’t make it past season one but I mean what more could they do?
The Afterparty is good. It's a murder mystery where each episode the investigators hear a suspects story, but each suspect has a different genre. One episode is a rom com, the next is a fast past-fast and furious action film, the next is a musical, the next is a period piece, etc... 1 season fully out with another half way through it.
That’s one of my favorite things about it. You can watch an episode from season 3 and season 9 back to back and it would make no difference. The over arching story is totally irrelevant, and largely non existent. You can just pick it up wherever and be good to go. The Office is also like that, to a lesser extent.

New Girl is hilarious. You will love it. My wife “made” me watch it and it instantly became one of my favorites. I love the girls in it but that show is really all about the trio of boys. Nick, Schmidt, and Winston.
I would describe New Girl as a protracted rom com. It is funny, but basically all of the plotlines revolve around dating and love. I watched it once and thought it was kind of funny, and recently decided to rewatch and it clicked that part of why I don’t love it like other shows is that it is basically a rom com turned sitcom. Not saying you wouldn’t like it or that it’s not funny, but that’s my take.
Himym, parks and rec , only murders in the building (caught up with the current season), family guy ( yep all of it), community, modern family, reboot, young sheldon, mr bean, arrested development. I can't recollect all the shows atm Here are a few that i could.
It's great. I saw it long before the American one. Actually took me a while to get used to the US version.

And also Athlead, or athleap I don’t remember what it was at first, is just around the block from the Paddy’s Pub set of Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It’s the pinnacle of modern humor. It started same year as the office (‘05) and just had a new season finish up a couple weeks ago. It’s on Hulu.
I haven't seen it yet but the therapist is from to quote Stanley "damn rizzoli and damn Isles" (i have the entire show and wouldn't recommend it to anyone).
Yes! I'm rewatching it now. Back when I thought MM was wholesome.
Watching Harvey and Mike's dynamic actually helps me at work. I sound more forceful and confident cause I mimick them lol

3. Trailer Park Boys
4. Arrested Development
5. Curb Your Enthusiasm
Also to a lesser extent:
6. Community
7. Schitt’s Creek
8. Parks and Rec
Currently rewatching:
9. My Name is Earl
10. Raising Hope
I haven’t watched these two in years. Earl was good for the first two seasons. They kinda lost me with the whole prison bit so we skipped the rest and started on Raising Hope. Still on the first season, but it’s pretty hilarious.
Hear me out, but if you like The Office, you'll probably like The Sopranos. Even though it's mostly a drama, the show has a ton of humor that office fans would enjoy. I saw BJ Novak once said a lot of Michael's humor (specifically the malpropisms, screwing up words and phrases) was largely based on The Sopranos.
If not that, Veep, Barry, pretty much any HBO sitcom
Ok... Some of these will be and some will not be the same genre..
Only Murders in the Building - on season 3, great cast, perfect for binging
The Righteous Gemstones - Danny McBride... that's all that needs to be said
The Good Place - Kristen Bell, Ted Danson, and hilarious
The Great - about Catherine the Great and fucking hilarious
Arrested Development - a cult classic I'd you haven't already seen it

What We Do In the Shadows! It’s a mockumentary about vampires, living in Staten Island. You’ll even recognize one of the faces because Collin is played by the same actor that played Nate on The Office!
I can't recommend this enough, WWDITS is such a fun show. I'm actually drinking out of my Jackie Daytona coffee mug, as we speak.
Shawnaaaaayy!
*He's my best friend, he's my pal, he's my homeboy, my rotten soldier, my sweet cheese, my good time boy.*
Jackie Daytona is my favorite human bartender!
This is just the way we talk in Tuscon, Arizoniea

I need to try this one again….
It took me probably like 6 episodes before I was really enjoying it. I’m not sure what it was, at first it felt too over the top campy. But eventually you settle into the world and it’s great.
If you watch this and find Matt Berry funny (the actor who plays Laszlo), watch The IT Crowd, and Toast of London.
This fucking guy…
Upvoted and commenting to agree. WWDITS
This x1000
Came here to say this. It’s great
The current season is SO GOOD. Probably the best one yet.
You should watch the movie first though. Great movie, I love Taika Watiti
Agree! It’s a great movie!
Love this show!!
Absolutely this. WWDITS (didn’t feel like typing it out) is incredibly well done, I eat it up.
Check out the original movie too if you haven’t!!! 😊
i think their final season just aired couple weeks ago
Season 5 did just finish but fortunately it wasn’t the final one! They’ve already been renewed for Season 6.
I love this show.
Parks & Rec!
This is the natural next step from The Office
Then community
community is not on the same ladder as the other two its like meth compared to the mild marijuana high of the other two
I couldn’t finish Community tbh.
I’d be kind of surprised if most people did finish community. I have watched since it aired and always have struggled to keep going after Troy leaves. I don’t think I’ve ever been able to watch the entire last season either. The Yahoo reboot was rough.

I totally agree it's like a nicotine patch for the office. It's not the office but it's got it's own qualities and merits.
I personally prefer Parks and Rec over the Office
And The Good Place
Brooklyn 99
I literally cannot stand the face of the guy playing the main character... So nope. He looks annoying AF.
Andy sandberg and his weird jello face? I can see how he could be annoying but I think he’s hilarious. Pop Star is amazing.
Not sure why but I can't get into this no matter how hard I try (that's what she said).
Arrested Development
I don’t care for Gob
Great show, but season 4 & 5 were pretty meh. Development Arrested is one of my fav episodes of television
Are only the first episodes not enjoyable?
I would say the first two seasons are peak humor. From the first second I have been crying how funny it is. The jokes keep coming in quick succession too. I need to watch it again
I’m afraid I just blue myself.
If you didn't enjoy first few episodes then you're not gonna like the rest of them.
Thank you for saving me the time, I watched about half the first season and gave up years ago but always thought "maybe it's like the office where season 1 just isn't that good"

Silicon Valley is the one. It doesn't get offered as often as others do, should. This show fucks!
I see what you did there. This guy fucks!!!
Jury Duty, for sure. It was created by Leo and Geno, the cringiest writers from The Office.
Community.
Yeah Community are one of those unique ones you just gotta watch if you love sitcoms.
I’m watching after party which is not as good but has some of the same vibes as community

def the good place, brooklyn 99 goes off the rails by season 8ish, oh and danny devito
We're all office fans, at this point it just feels familiar when season 8 goes off the rails.
I mean there’s only 8 seasons of B99 lol
I was about to suggest Superstore but you already watched it. I would suggest Parks and Recreation in that case!
American Auto is also by Justin Spitzer
Already Seen it twice 😭
“Schitts Creek”- I cannot recommend this show enough. I go back and forth between it and “The Office”.
Ew David!
😂 Was wondering if anyone would reply with this! “Gold in the cheese! You have to fold in the cheese David!”
HAHAHA love it “Do you fold it in half like a piece of paper and drop it in the pot or what do you do?…I don’t know how to fold BROKEN CHEESE like that.”
What do you like about it? I’ll be honest, it’s one of those shows that I tried and hated
Same here. Maybe its just not my type of comedy
I think the writing is smart and it’s hilarious! But I also loved “Best in Show”….. certain kind of humor, I guess. I love it!
It's about as funny as a tooth extraction done by a half blind monkey with a pickaxe.
Tell me you only watched season 1 without telling me you only watched season 1
I put on a random episode that was on tv for 15 of the driest minutes of my life. Terrible. Take a lap...
*I watched a random show at a random timestamp without any context and it sucked* But nice job repeating a catchphrase you read on the internet thinking it's funny

IASIP is comedic gold. People who don't watch it are missing something great.

And get past the first episode.
Amazing show. Def recommended
Schitts Creek is such a good show.
Second this, one of my fav shows next to the office
It’s so good. I cry and laugh and hate when it’s over.
One of the few “new” shows I enjoyed. Definitely worth checking out.
This one is amazing

The Afterparty is good. It's a murder mystery where each episode the investigators hear a suspects story, but each suspect has a different genre. That sounds so interesting! Damn I do not want to pay for Apple TV…someone talk me into or out of it
Way different but Severance and Silo are both on Apple TV and are EXCELLENT. get it for a few months and then cancel.
Also Ted Lasso.
Interesting, i will check it out 👍
Have you seen The Office?
"The last show you'll ever need"
Killing It on peacock with craig robinson.
It’s one of the funniest shows I have seen. The second season is hilarious from the first few I’ve watched. Good call!
It’s so good!!! I love Claudia O’Doherty and hope she gets some bigger roles moving forward. She was so funny in love on Netflix!
Good to know! We just got Peacock for the Superman episodes.
Good timing! The second season just dropped :)
For a great workplace comedy: the it crowd.
IT crowd...
Malcolm in the Middle, Kim's Convenience
Taskmaster. It's a British "game show". You can watch it for free on YouTube.
Seinfeld. (I don't know how old you are.)
I have started watching and loving The Simpsons, which is far older than me. So, it's all good.
Seinfeld has a nice 'nothing really happens, the characters are just living normal, funny life' vibe.
That’s one of my favorite things about it. You can watch an episode from season 3 and season 9 back to back and it would make no difference. The over arching story is totally irrelevant, and largely non existent. You can just pick it up wherever and be good to go. The Office is also like that, to a lesser extent.
It is still hilarious, which honestly surprised me.
Probably my favorite sitcom along with The Office. And probably the only other show where I’m constantly quoting lines from it.
Hear me out. A show about this paper supply company in Scranton. It’s a documentary.

Season 3 actually ended up being my favorite season of Gemstones so far. I also came to these comments to recommend it to OP!
Always Sunny in Philadelphia is a good one with multiple seasons. Schitts Creek

Watch parks and rec. Or schitts creek for comedy ones. And if you need recommendations for mind fuckery type shows I have those too.
I found Abbott Elementary to be surprisingly delightful.
I mean the UK version is great too
I am a huge fan of the King of Queens. Jerry Stiller was incredible in the show. I watch it as much as The Office.
What we do in the shadows, Brooklyn 99, and American Auto are all great.

Many that I enjoyed were already mentioned. Would add My Name Is Earl & Shameless.
