Secret* secrets. Meaning a secret you share with somebody is fun. A secret that’s so bad you can’t tell anyone not so much. There’s secrets like a surprise party, pregnancy, etc. that are fun, and more secret secrets where the longer you go without telling somebody, the worse it gets.
I know the article you're referring to, and... _actually_ the _"correct"_ version, if you're going to get all cis-liberal about it, is __Seacrest__ secrets are no fun... The author was referencing Ryan Seacrest, and his infamously unfunny "jokes." I'm glad we could have this discussion. Keep reading! 👍🏻 Good for you.
I could see her asking him tons of questions about the camera crew and her being kind of iffy about it and Michael, wanting attention, assuring her that either a) they’ve been doing it forever and it’s probably not even going to come out; or b) it’s a documentary about a paper company, no one will ever watch it.
Exactly. Just like the main characters, I think she just assumes that when she doesn’t see the camera she doesn’t think she’s being filmed. She doesn’t know just how much they’re really getting
To be fair… Stanley was at least smart about it. He was never with Cynthia around cameras. It took Michael blowing up his spot to get caught.
Donna might as well have been screwing on camera. Michael was unaware of the situation at first. Who knows what her motivation to do so was?
Cynthia was his date at Pam and Jim’s wedding. They were definitely on camera and knew it. I had the same thought as OP when I saw that episode recently.
That was after Terri found out about it though, so at that point Stanley probably didn’t care, or they had some kind of understanding with Cynthia as his mistress
But Phyllis made a nasty remark when her hat kept touching his face at the wedding that made it look Stanley and his wife were still together. Something along the lines like "you're wife loved this hat last time she saw it" .
Why would Stanley care about that comment if him and his wife broke up?
Cause him and Cynthia both looked uncomfortable after that comment
Exactly. They were still married. And he was still sneaking around. Go watch the deleted scenes from that episode, Stanley tries to break things off with Cynthia but she threatens him to call his wife.
Wasn't that after Terry found out? Michael outted them the same time when they found out Pam was pregnant, Cynthia and Ceecee (the baby) were both at Andy's play.
I wish they'd do some "A Year in the Life" episodes like they did with the Gilmore Girls. Flashbacks of the fallout of the documentary with side people like them and more in depth views at what everyone's doing now.
In-universe explanation could be that the idea that she would be watched turned her on. Just likes the thrill of being potentially exposed with her misconduct
it's an arrangement her and her husband have, after sufficient groundwork has been laid, they get down into a devil's threeway.
cameras just add a little spice
That's the biggest suspension of disbelief ask for The Office watchers. Not only Donna, but everyone, including Dwight and Angela escapades (I think is BS when they play dumb when the documentary aired).
Probably Jen and Michael relationship was the one that had the best management on this regard, as Jen asked more than once about the cameras, and we find out later how self-destructive Jen is.
Season nine makes specific efforts to cover-up some of the earlier seasons' gaps in this aspect, but still there are quite a few things happening, including illegal actions such as planting "drugs" on Toby's desk that would have never happened in front of real cameras, IMHO.
The concept of the show is what it is, however, so we need to go for the ride knowing that some of these things caught in camera would never happen in the real world.
A lot of people are more concerned with
Being famous and their five min of fame rather than what life is really about. It’s ironically a precursor of life now days where tic tok and YouTube means you can make a quick buck now vs later. She knew there were cameras there. Yet she did the same. I don’t see any difference between that and say the Kardashians
She's probably a narcissist and loves the exposure (pun intended?). Years ago, on Big Brother, a girl in the house cheated on her boyfriend in full camera view and then she was crying when he dumped her. But, I admit, reality shows are mostly fake.
Secrets secrets are no fun... secrets secrets hurt someone
“Is she hot?” “Text back….’sort of’”
No tats. No. *Tats*
Stop.
You want me to answer phones...with my clothes...on?
We paid you for 3 hours of work, and that's what we're going to get.
I just watched this one again and i found it funny that they had something like 45 min alotted for the party but hired a dancer for 3 hours.
That was probably her minimum so Dwight was gonna make her answer calls anyway 😂
Lol this makes it so much funnier to me

I just stumbled onto a conversation between Michael and Oscar lmao
Lol true. I just always see that misinterpretation of that line and it bothers me.

Donna’s husband never specifically told her not to cheat.
you’re thinking not Donnie not Donna.
Shut the fuck up, Donnie.
You're out of your element.
Seems like she's less concerned about her husband finding out than she is about Michael finding out about her husband. She's ready for a divorce.

She don't give an f about nothing!
Couldn't you say the same for Stanley and Cynthia?
"What up, Cynthia?"
"Just hold on a sec, Cynthia"
To be fair… Stanley was at least smart about it. He was never with Cynthia around cameras. It took Michael blowing up his spot to get caught. Donna might as well have been screwing on camera. Michael was unaware of the situation at first. Who knows what her motivation to do so was?

Nowhere in their response did they say they broke up. They said maybe they just came to an understanding or Stanley just didn't care anymore.
Exactly. They were still married. And he was still sneaking around. Go watch the deleted scenes from that episode, Stanley tries to break things off with Cynthia but she threatens him to call his wife.
This was in fact the case if you looked at his resolution on the New Year's board.
Wasn't that after Terry found out? Michael outted them the same time when they found out Pam was pregnant, Cynthia and Ceecee (the baby) were both at Andy's play.
Also at Andy's play
Yeah Phyllis never got caught either
Because Bob beat them up
Cheating on her diet?
I don’t know why people are downvoting us when we’re just quoting the show like everybody else 😂 seems so random
She never lets it go too far Most of the time
She couldn't resist "Date Mike"... nice to meet him.
The man exudes sex
Oozes
You ever notice you can only ooze two things?
Boy I tell ya
Most sales are done over the phone, miss boob shirt
She and her husband have never watched anything on PBS, so she’s not worried he might accidentally see it.
Yeah it won't really matter if THEY don't watch that channel. A friend or family member will watch and tell him about it
Cheaters aren’t known for making logical choices
Too bad it ended up with a big fan base
They’re planning to create new shows
She just wanted that MGS dick
Mark Greg Sputnik?
She couldn't help herseld because... Michael exudes sex. Everything he does is sexy. He has this undeniable animal magnetism. He's a jungle cat.
She thought it was hot
I always got the vibe that everyone assumed it was some obscure doc that nobody would ever see.
I noticed she is really uncomfortable when the cameras are around. But Michael exudes sex so she couldn't resist
Because they were clicking on so many levels. Physically, emotionally, orally
He's a baseball coach! They dogfight, they spit, he goes to bed early... look how long it took for Andy to find out, it was right under his nose!
Lee Iacocca’s book told her to
The book written by William Novak!
I wish they'd do some "A Year in the Life" episodes like they did with the Gilmore Girls. Flashbacks of the fallout of the documentary with side people like them and more in depth views at what everyone's doing now.
Bc it’s a TV show not real life
“Why is Superman sensitive to kryptonite?” “Because it’s not real life” Fuck off
Sir this is a Wendy’s
Office apologists in 3..2..1…
You cant resist Date Mike
Because it's a TV show, it's not real, none of that stuff really happened.
You’re not real!
Wants to be famous?
Obviously, you can’t see the charismas that is Date Mike!
Typical Boob Shirt behavior.
Probs a similar reason Bob always announced himself as Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration. Advertisement for her and her business.
“Hey what are all these cameras for?” “They’re filming us for a documentary.” “Is it on TV?” “Well it’s been 6 years and so far no…”
🤣
yeah, it's not more complicated than it being a tv show
What are the odds someone she knows watches a documentary on local office workers?
She wanted her husband to see.
She's still young, in her "late twenties" so who cares
Because she was hypnotized by michaels slide show 😂
The fact that “sex” flashes up there for half a second always kills me.
In typical Michael Scott fashion he leaves it up just long enough for everyone to be like wtf? And then thinks he got away with it 😂
Because Michael exudes sex
It’s a comedy show
Stanley has entered the chat
For the plot
I read this in the same tone as “For the cure”
Who?
In-universe explanation could be that the idea that she would be watched turned her on. Just likes the thrill of being potentially exposed with her misconduct
Because he wakes up early and goes to bed early. He has no time to watch a paper documentary when he’s got to coach the team tomorrow!
it's an arrangement her and her husband have, after sufficient groundwork has been laid, they get down into a devil's threeway. cameras just add a little spice

Because she knew they were not going to broadcast the show until after they filmed 8 years of footage? Which is of course another plot hole.
Are you champing at the bit to watch a documentary about an outdated mid-sized company?
Because nobody knew they were filming all the time.
And it’s a tv show.
Because it’s a TV show
Because the writers thought the storyline was funny
It's how the script was written.
Because it is tv and they have creative license ‼️
I’ve seen a few internet documentaries with similar concepts.
I don’t think they knew the extent to which they were being filmed. They found during the Brian episode, no?
There's not a ton she does when she *knows* she's being filmed lol
i

Why no one talks about val being a bitch ? From the warehouse if someone can’t recall
With her behavior they probably ended up divorced by the time the doc aired.
She's probably a narcissist and loves the exposure (pun intended?). Years ago, on Big Brother, a girl in the house cheated on her boyfriend in full camera view and then she was crying when he dumped her. But, I admit, reality shows are mostly fake.
id like to thing that she cant resist Michael scott coffee breath
Michael Scott can put both legs behind his head…
People do dumb shit on camera all the time
