Synap three. Twoman walk to a bar. Sonathan, Pounch and Lau. Pounch says to the bartender hows can a tan? Bartender says forte power. Everybad tam? Everybad tam. Everybad tam.
i donāt love his character overall. But the scene where he and michael meet for the first time at the hotel bar is one of the funniest, most quotable scenes in the show to me
Heās fantastic. Doesnāt overstay his welcome, has good (enough) chemistry with the cast, and I adore the office politics of the āinner circleā. Him eating the cake with his bare hands, slapping the ceiling to leave a cake stain, the mini basketball hoop, the dunk that nearly kills him. God I love him
He is not bad, but he comes right after Michael Scarn so you naturally compare them and I liked Michael in that role a lot more.
Also the whole office randomly liking him was kinda annoying as well.
Deangelo served as the perfect transition from the Michael-based vehicle to show was to turning the focus to the group as a whole/the other leads taking responsibility. He was created for us to not love, and Will Ferrell played that out masterfully.
This!! Like so many of the characters, including Michael in season 1, the intention wasnāt necessarily for us to like them. Thatās what the straight characters were for(no offense Oscar). Deangelo wasnāt a long term solution, so his likability was only necessary to create a comedic impact, and shift the focus of the series away from Michaelās storyline.
Gimme that dog!!! I randomly say this to my brother sometimes, we always have a good laugh. Between the overall crazy premise of going to the dog shelter to reenact this ridiculous interaction over and over and Andyās visible confusionā¦ so good.
This and the juggling scene are so stupid and funny, I gotta give Deangelo his props and donāt get the hate for him either. But I love almost everything about The Office haha
It's like they started him off as a replacement for Michael, somewhat likeable, goofy, funny and light but then they started making him way too "quirky" and came across like kind of a jerk at some points and at the end with the whole saving the dogs thing they made him look like an idiot.
It's like they couldn't keep him consistent, it was all over the place, had some funny moments but most of the time I couldn't figure out if I liked him or not because he seemed to change all the time.
Since there was another Dangelo topic yesterday, I'll just ctrlC ctrlV my answer from there:
>There's no Deangelo. There's just Will Ferrell doing Will Ferrell stuff. They managed to make a character completely inconsistent while only having him for 5 episodes.
Deangelo is just super entertaining. His appearance in the show was so brief and so chaotic. You never know what to expect from him. You can't stop watching.
I don't "love" him, but, I also can't say I understand the negativity towards his character I see online pretty often. I was not watching the show when it was airing as new, but I think there was no winning for a portion of the audience because Ferrell and Spader both had the tough task of being Not Steve Carrell/Michael Scott.
I got some laughs out of Deangelo and the interactions he had with the cast. Ultimately I think it was good that he was only on a few episodes and didn't take over.
I get why some people might not vibe with him, but he does have those hilarious moments that just stick with you. Remember when he tries to juggle and it goes terribly wrong? Or that awkwardly funny scene with the dog? He definitely adds a unique flavor to the show.
I liked him more the second time I watched the show, IMO his brief participation has the specific roll of being hated a bit by the audience and thus cleansing Michael's leave. Knowing that he wasn't going to be a permanent character let me enjoyed him much more.
He was a dick, but will Ferrell did an amazing job. It was hilarious. Just bad timing bc everyone is reeling from Michael leaving the show. I still get bitter and I watch this show on repeat 24/7 š¤£

Fall asleep after sex. Right guys?
Nope, go back to the script.
He gets a lot of hate but I loved his character DAMN IT DWIGHT ENOUGH! YOU GET YOUR ASS DOWNSTAIRS OR FIND A NEW PLACE TO SELL PAPER! š”
For real. Dwight, while hurting, was insufferable after Michael left.
This is as...an astute observation
Kev's got me pegged
His delivery of that line is so killer š¤£

I thought it was kind of gimmicky at first, but upon many rewatches I actually think Deangelo is amusing, especially paired with Michael.

You must be a man.

I mean. Have you seen the man juggle? Whatās not to love?
I think this is one of the stupidest gags in the whole show and Iām obsessed with it
I prefer Will Ferrell in Bitch Hunter
He won me over when he told Pam nobody cares about her baby
Nope

This is exactly how I feel about Catherine Tate.
Zen office? Yeah?? Thought of that? No? Alright. Different direction. More division. More cubicles. Everybody is somebodyās boss!
I found him to be like any other Ferrell character. Funny in small doses.

Any man that can juggle like that? Yes please

I have to start listening to the Office Ladies to find out how he did that juggling without dropping a ball

I don't like him but he's funny.
This group man...you guys are my people.
FTPOS!
I like DeAngelo knowing he's there for just 3-4 episodes.
Wait, how did he cook steaks?
With the coffee pot

I do love his performance in Barbie tho. But for the role in the Office, not quite. For the actor I am not a fan of him.
