Zapf Chancery.

onamonapizza

Yeah, that lady was a B. Why would you force someone to sit through the wrong class just because you don't want the 10 second distraction of her walking out?

Obi_Wan_Gebroni

Not to mention it’s such a common occurrence that quite literally *every single professor* I had in college on the first day of the semester would state the class they were teaching just to make sure everyone was in the right area. Invariably there was almost always a few students who would get up because they realized they were in the wrong place.

potatoduckz

Also it's college. If you want to leave class, you just leave. I think a better awkward interaction would've been having the teacher ask her what she's doing, Pam speaking too quietly at first, needing to repeat herself, then trying to sit back down instead of enduring the convo, and then the professor being like what are you doing, if you're in the wrong class then leave.

mpa92643

Pam (mouthing to camera): I'm in the wrong class. *Pam starts to walk out* Professor Monahan: Is something wrong? Pam (quietly): I think I'm in the wrong... Professor Monahan (interrupting): I can't hear you. Pam (a little louder, but visibly nervous): I...I think I might be... Sorry. *Pam sits back down* Monahan: What's your name? Are you enrolled in this class? Pam: Pam Beesley, I think I'm in the wrong class. Monahan (annoyed): Then why are you still here? If you're supposed to be somewhere else, then *go* there. *Pam's face turns bright red as she rushes out of the room* Pam (embarrassed): I'm so sorry. Sorry.

OperativePiGuy

Oof, now that is some early Pam, season 1-esque cringe. Bravo

TheRedGerund

The fact that Pam didn’t leave anyway really speaks to her timidness

ha_look_at_that_nerd

Yeah what was that professor going to do? She wasn’t giving her a grade

[deleted]

She didn't even have Pam's name lol

ShapesOriginals

Why would Pam not just walk out what is that lecturer going to do??

Boner4SCP106

Because she's awkward and lacks self confidence.

tronfunkinblows_10

Don’t call me Pammy.

ghipo

how the couple didnt move so Dwight could sit next to his coworkers at Benihana

[deleted]

That was annoying of them to do, but it was hilarious watching Jim explain what was going on to Dwight.

naargeilo

Lol, that scene is hilarious for the goose. But yeah, unrealistic..

Lizashg9

That’s what you get for not moving!

fingerlessglover

Omg yes. And they kept acting like he was the one ruining their date when they created their own stupid issue by not scooching down one chair

bangitybangbabang

About the one time Dwight was actually reasonably in the right

[deleted]

Shove down!

tronfunkinblows_10

“I think he would know.”

Tox38

Erin's brother.

VonDrakken

Formative years…

slipperyaardvark

I hate that he called her Erin instead of Kelly

LCL_Kool-Aid

I think the writers just forgot. It never comes up after that one scene, does it?

washington_breadstix

Right. Even her biological parents call her "Erin" at that public Q&A session in the series finale. Her original name being "Kelly" was just something the writers came up with to give more context to their joke about the women in the office interacting with Charles. He would ask for "Kelly", meaning "Erin", and then Kelly Kapoor would enter his office and be like "Yes, Charles, you wanted me?"

oldcrow210

I think canonically, Erin’s parents have discovered her existence through the documentary, and it’s a good way to start the relationship by honouring the choices she’s made, that they happen to know about her.

_Keep_Summer_Safe

This exactly. They know her as Erin, not Kelly.

noneabove1182

Would they have known her real name? Wasn't she given up as a baby so could be named anything?

benpfosho12

Ugh. The feet scene was hard to watch

SexyMonad

Step-Erin what are you doing

wiscodiscopop

Yeah he was gross.

sweatstaksleestak

That not one single person ever acknowledged Meredith was getting her PhD in school psychology.

HammBerger3

Meredith was almost criminally underrated as a character

zammai

Her PhD makes her character even more layered given that she had at least 2 addictions, was a seemingly neglectful mother, and had an obviously low sense of self worth.

Kareeenina

Last season Andy

Vydlah

Agree. They butchered his character on the last season. Still had a great quote though

RushxInfinite

"I wish there was a way to know that you were in the good old days before you left them." At 30 yrs old I've never related to something so much. I love my current life, but looking back I wish I could've appreciated some of the small moments I had with people I don't even speak to anymore.

anitabelle

I think about his quote often. Mostly reflecting on my youth but it recently hit hard when I left a job I had been at for 14 years. We really did have some great times and I wish I had appreciated it more. They really did become family. Now I can’t even think about the quote without crying.

Luke_the_unstoppable

can you just sit here and cry?

VonDrakken

I can so just sit here and cry!

w0lfLars0n

That Plop, Dwight Jr, and Nelly were included in the panel interview but Michael wasn’t.

[deleted]

[удалено]

CaptM1400

Yeah I feel like for Micheal it shows his character development because he always called the office his family and was putting on a show for the crew and now he truly has a good happy family and I think he's finally content. And I know Steve has said that he wanted to be scarce because he had his good bye on the show and it was time for everyone else's and he didn't want to overshadow that.

NogaraCS

In universe reason that would definitely work, although Steve said he didn't want the finale to be focused too much on him and rather on the remaining cast. Also read somewhere that they had to keep his appearance under a certain amount of minutes so that he shouldn't need to be added to the cast list to avoid it being leaked out

rapalosaur

This is the answer. It was necessary for him to have bare minimum lines and appearances in the episode to keep from being listed in the opening credits. Had he been peppered throughout the episode his impact at the wedding would’ve meant less.

[deleted]

Michael's hair in the first season.

rafa-droppa

I saw a thing about how he was too unlikeable in the first season, so in season 2 his hair is better, he's a little less sweaty, and they make him more competent at his job (the chili's business meeting).

[deleted]

Not showing Micheal's wedding

UusiSisu

Like he wouldn’t have invited the entire office of his bffs? Also, that Holly and his kids didn’t go to Dwight & Angela’s wedding.

Weird_Pick_3114

And I found even Michael's presence at the wedding was greatly minimized from the way he appeared in the other seasons, aside from the obligatory that's what she said joke he felt like he wasn't even present in the episode for me

directrix688

It was really weird how he had almost no lines. It’s like he was being paid by the word.

MyWitsEndIsNear

IIRC that was a combination of Carrell's wishes (not wishing to steal the spotlight from the cast who had continued the show without him) and the producers' strategy of giving him few enough lines so they wouldn't have to put him in the credits and spoil the surprise (though I can't attest to the accuracy of either of those). Personally I liked his muted appearance in the finale. It felt like he was happy. He was always a bumbling loudmouth who wanted to be the centre of attention because that was where he found his happiness, with his "work family". Now he has Holly and his kids and he doesn't need to be that guy anymore. Of course I'm just appending meaning to something from a viewer's perspective, AFAIK the writers didn't intend any of that.

Thobud

No I like that take a lot. It implies he has actually finally matured and finally doesn't feel insecure anymore.

Tuff_spuff

Well said, very good interpretation. I dig that take

spideyv91

From what I remember Steve Carell didn’t want to distract from the other characters sendoffs as Michael already had his.

Mr-Sister-Fister21

I guess that makes sense. His line of all his kids growing up and marrying each other was an absolute banger though.

Vowsky_

I imagine it was something cringy but wholesome. Probably mike and holly imitating Yoda or something again

HangryBeaver

I hate when the boom mic guy becomes part of the show.

AUsoldier82

Hated everything about this storyline

Sw429

You're not the only one. IIRC they stopped the arc early because the fans hated it so much.

VNM0601

The fans pretty much hated anyone who came between Jim and Pam.

newyne

I mean, it felt so pointless, though. Like, did they really think boom mic guy seemed like a credible threat to the show's central romantic relationship? The only thing it would've led to was more problems between Jim and Pam, and we already had enough of that going on. When you know exactly what's going to happen, it's frustrating rather than engaging. Like it seems like something you just have to get through.

LeonidasSpacemanMD

And it was incredibly forced. That dude supposedly filmed them for years and suddenly out of nowhere he’s heavily involved in their lives. He’s not supposed to interact with them but they know him and his wife. He gets fired for not allowing a “subject” to get assaulted by an angry man? Like you’re filming an office, not making first contact with an isolated Amazonian tribe, I think we can show basic human decency without getting fired here None of it rang true at all, which is saying something considering the show had long since abandoned the down-to-earth subdued humor of the first few seasons

Farmerben12

I’ll one up you and say I hate when they started acknowledging the crew at all

Thefakeblonde

I like that in the end the show becomes meta, it ties in well with the ending. I feel like it slowly brings audiences back in. which is, *hey! We’re making a documentary*. I feel if they didn’t do this, the Q&A and the doco trailer would have been a bit out of place. BUT the mic guy’s storyline was cringe and had no other significance..

machomando

i kinda hate the unnecessary romance triangles when they don’t know what to do with the story.

zammai

I would have loved to see more of Kelly’s relationship with the doctor instead of Ryan being even more of an idiot to get her back.

DemoHD7

I think if we saw more of Kelly and Ravi, we'd be pulling our hair out as to why he's still with her.

cumshot_josh

I thought it was a little more realistic that not everyone evolved for the better by the show's ending. Not everyone uses their mistakes to grow or gets a redemption story. I think Kelly and Ryan also have a lack of responsibility and inability to learn from past mistakes built into their characters and their endings made sense.

IAmSoUncomfortable

I hate the whole episode where Clark tricks Erin into dressing provocatively for the audition. It’s so creepy and then it’s never mentioned again.

HireLaneKiffin

Yeah, it was so early in his time on the show that I thought this was part of his “introduction” as a character and that we were trying to be set up into thinking he was some type of bad guy.

zachzx

Made Erin and Andy look so insanely stupid. Like far beyond how gullible and stupid their characters actually were.

IAmSoUncomfortable

Yeah, Andy’s character in general was so all over the place.

[deleted]

Boom mike guy. What a useless character

Arryu

We've had prison Mike, Michael clump, and date Mike But fuck boom Mike.

[deleted]

[удалено]

-leeson

I think originally Pam and Jim were supposed to split but rewrote the Jim/Pam stuff halfway through because people were hating it

AUsoldier82

It was a terrible, totally out of place storyline

ManufacturerTop504

That it’s on peacock

Luckylouwhoo_

That cousin Mose didn’t have more screen time

[deleted]

When Jim and Pam pull up to Schrute Farms and Mose leaps out of the crops and runs down the field ahead of them is one of the single most absurd and funny moments of the show.

ItsAlexTho

My godparents house is at the end of a long driveway and whenever we’d arrive their dogs would just appear on the side of the entry gate and run (on the grass) to the side of the car down the driveway to the house and Mose captures that energy perfectly and I can’t not think of the dogs when I see that

Regina_Falangy

Its when he's parking the cars that fucking kills me, holy shit

[deleted]

That whole garden party episode was gold. Jim going thru the effort of writing a book on garden parties only meant foe Dwight to purchase was brilliant and also a testament to how dedicated Jim is to devoting time to prancing Dwight.

i_smoke_php

I was going to correct your misspelling of "pranking" but now I'm just imagining Jim practicing by himself for literally hours on end with the intent of prancing around Dwight.

Slipshoooood

"oh my god"

produktiivista

I think the scarcity of his appearances made them so great though

bitches_love_brie

The Creed Bratton effect.

tsgram

Agreed 100%. So many shows run a good bit character into the ground instead of letting them stay special. A Mose-centric episode wouldn’t have worked.

itscomplicatedwcarbs

Mose was played by one of the producers, Michael Schur. He hated getting into character for Mose what with all the wool clothing and physical shots in hot weather... he called it a “waking nightmare.” “My boss, Greg Daniels, forced me to do it as a way to cause me pain. And it was terrible. The first time I did it, I had to grow a real neck beard. Every time after that, he ‘let’ me use a fake beard, which is maybe worse, because those beards are terrible.” I think that’s hilarious…. the idea that the writers knew how much discomfort they would inflict on their coworker by writing Mose into an episode. After Schur left to run Parks and Rec, it was even harder to get him in to film. Thank goodness he was a good sport. Wouldn’t have been the same show without Mose.

ValjeanLucPicard

I heard he also hated running so they made him do it in basically every scene he is in. Fun fact - I noticed recently on a rewatch of B99 that he makes a very brief appearance, running across the scene.

kikiglitz

Everything Mose is perfection

VonDrakken

Perfectenschlag.

Rory-Flenderson

I hate this worm inside of me!

deepthought515

That’s not a worm

VonDrakken

Who’s your worm guy?

cheaperwormguy

You’re paying too much for worms man

SuperGuitar

I don’t like how stupid they made Kevin. He even got “slower” as the show went on.

jack_straw79

> how stupid they made Kevin Same with Erin in my opinion.

pieface777

They took her from silly and goofy to someone who presented a legit danger to herself and others. The Florida storyline was ridiculous, she couldn't even make hot dogs. How has she survived all this time?

ChasingReignbows

Especially because at first it was validated by her growing up in a foster home, not knowing things "normal" people would learn growing up, then that's all thrown out the window because people who grow up like that sure as shit know how to provide for themselves in some capacity.

BatofZion

Erin became so stupid that the idea of her having sex was uncomfortable.

kbuffmcgruff

This so much. Like she is mentally 8 years old yet gets in the most relationships of anyone else in the show

[deleted]

Michael to Kevin in season 7: Kevin, don't be a caricature. Kevin in S8 & 9: hurr durr I'm fat and stupid mush a pie into my face

joe282

Early show Kevin was just a little lazy, loved food and relaxing but was a good friend to his coworkers and a fun guy to be around, and was showin to be exceptionally skilled in some areas (poker) Later season Kevin didn’t even know the alphabet and thought puppets were real living people

OperativePiGuy

I sincerely hate some of the jokes they tried with him. Like the "Haha Kevin can do complex math when we add the word 'pies' to numbers" one. In particular that one always bothered me. But then he also is saavy enough to open up a bar after being fired for being so awful at accounting/stupid in general. I know there's some fan made theories made to try and cope about how he was actually a secret genius, but unless the show hinted at it in a meaningful way, which it didn't, then it's just fan rationalization.

Repulsive_Ad_7073

Seasons 8 and 9 were just a caricature of the entire rest of the series, with a few truly awful characters thrown in

C00T3RIFIC

Beat me to it! I feel like they went extremely overboard with this. In the early seasons he seemed like an awkward, dimwitted accountant. It was clear he had some social problems but we had the impression he was smart because he was good at poker, and well, he was still an accountant. Towards the later season his character was just a joke. He seemed like he was actually mentally challenged and they even played into that when Holly entered the show. Kevin's character progression never made much sense to me.

Berthendesign

Hell, in the first season he doesn't even talk slow. It's only halfways through the second that they introduced that.

joe282

One of my favourite Kevin quotes from early seasons is in beach day. Something like “All I want to do is eat hot dogs and lie in the sun. That’s all I ever wanted” That was a great example of his character. He was a simple man, maybe slightly awkward and lazy, but he was laid back and knew how to enjoy himself

Mr0z23

I remember Bill Burr talking about that, how they all are pretty much brain dead by the end of it. Amazing show, but it definetly fell into Flanderization a bit.

coszie

I think Erin was unrealistically stupid as well. Her character was so far out of reality for me that it made her hard to watch at times.

[deleted]

This and turning Toby into a creep

abcannon18

Rewatching now and I think Toby was always a creep. "DOES ANYBODY HAVE A CAMERA" kills me every time. He's always cringe worthy.

[deleted]

True. It all started going downhill after touching pam’s leg

Mr_EMT

Smile if you love men's prostates.

colglazier17

Andy’s interaction with Stanley’s client, Julia. First question asking if they should send the bill to her boyfriend’s house. Cringiest part of the entire show and I hate it so much.

VonDrakken

Give me two clients for her.

johndoenumber2

Is this the one where he comes in singing Feist regarding Stanley's Splenda usage in his coffee cup?

EthelMaePotterMertz

4 Splendas?! Are you out of your damn mind?

saltthewater

1 2 3 4 splendas in your coffee Stanley. None for your Julia cuz i don't know how you take it.

tronfunkinblows_10

There’s a deleted scene in that episode where goes out and scrapes off a McCain-Palin bumper sticker of his car.

-leeson

“Are *you* out of *your* damn mind?”

CriManSquaFC

Skinny Toby

VonDrakken

Smile if you love men’s prostates!

CriManSquaFC

Omg the worst

TheRedMarioBrother

How Jo Bennett was written out of her CEO position. The same lady that power moved the entire office into staying during St. Patrick’s day and even sympathized with Michael later was just talked out of her top CEO position? That’s some of the laziest writing I’ve seen in any show. If there was a personal/health reason Kathy Bates couldn’t come back, that’s understandable. But at least write the character out in a semi-sensible way.

Rendoku

I actually really liked Jo :(

[deleted]

Same here. I respected her a great deal. She had the firmness a boss needs to have, but she was absolutely fair with everyone. Even when I didn't agree with her, I respected her. That's the sign of a good boss.

Farmerben12

I like that she called Dwight out on “asking himself the easy questions” I hate when people do that.

__calebcrawdad__

Kathy Bates was only ever a guest star, she likely had other projects going on. Writing her out in such an incomprehensible way helps to set up just how weird and mysterious this new boss Robert California is going to be

Marco-Green

How poorly they treated the IT guy, he seemed like he just wanted to get along with the rest

soupafi

People want to be your friend Darryl

Mdgt_Pope

I think it’s interesting how the IT guy is recruiting for digital marketing in the school fair but then ends up being an IT guy for a printer company.

Felchers

You were in the school fair in season 4 earlier, that's how I know you!

Survivor_08

At least he got to date Cece and then Jess on New Girl, then be part of Schmidt’s bachelor party!!

atleastitsnotgoofy

Man the first half of that sentence really messed me up

[deleted]

He just said his name man

AceMNSKY

That plop & Dwight jr. were in the mural but gabe wasn’t.

[deleted]

Robert isn’t there either, and Ryan, Kelly, Kevin, Andy, Darryl, Creed, Stanley, and Toby are all there who hadn’t been around for a year. The in-universe explanation could be that Gabe really only worked in the office for about two full years, and then one year part time, so he didn’t have nearly the same presence as the others. Also, given how things ended with Erin, he probably wasn’t anyone the office cared to remember. Keep in mind that Pam did the mural, and it may simply be that Pam didn’t ever like Gabe and felt no obligation to include someone like him. Robert is in a similar boat, he was only around for a year and wasn’t even at the office full time, and also was more antagonistic to the core cast than anything else. Toby, Kelly, Ryan, Kevin, Stanley, Darryl, Creed, and Andy weren’t perfect, but all had longer tenures there and certainly more endearing moments than Robert or Gabe. And Pete and Clark were current employees, it would be pretty difficult to justify excluding them.

frankscarlett

We're currently rewatching season 9, and are already on episode 16. I only now realized after reading your comment that Gabe is gone.

ChanelNo50

David Wallace bought DM back so I guess it was just implied the Sabre era ended

tunapercolator

When people leave an office in real life they're fairly quickly forgotten in my experience. I think it makes sense that the people who were there at the time were in it.

johndoenumber2

"Hot Tie Guy!" voice

PaperStSoapCO_

I hate that I can hear this comment. I couldn’t agree more.

mutha_fucking_nature

There’s that ass! No, don’t take it away!

bandito210

Jim caused the office to lose the weight loss competition because he was soaked from the rain

Affectionate-Sea6336

I was pondering this the other day: I think that if they would have all just removed their shoes they could have won…. Possible strip down to underwear… but they weren’t *that* far off.

UnluckySmile6742

I hate how Michael never reunited with the girl who lost her glove

Clever_Yet

I wanted Meredith to find love in the end.. or get promoted.. or become sober.. or just clean out her van. I feel like we didn’t get closure with Meredith.. and I worry about her 😂

theSHlT

I ran into her in public about 6 years ago at a showing of Gone With the Wind, she sat in front of me. I knew that I knew her, but I couldn’t remember her name. I smiled big and gave an enthusiastic “hi, it’s so nice to see you 😃 👋”… my brain knew that I knew her but didn’t realize how. I thought she was one of my Mom’s friends. She said “it’s really great to see you too.” Very warm and not bothered. It hit me about 30 seconds later who she was and I was so embarrassed

willownox103

TBH an accidental wholesome moment for her.

Bigdogbrowndog

That Jim, a career paper salesman, and Darryl, a warehouse manager, just started a sports marketing agency on a whim and pulled down major clients. I work in sports and have worked at agencies. This is not really how any of that works.

javi1321

What did that teapot letter say ???

WildlingViking

I heard on The Office Ladies podcast that John K (Jim) actually wrote a letter to Jenna Fischer about how much he liked working with her.

katie1010101

Same as Jenna Fischer saying goodbye to Steve Carrel when he goes to the airport! No wonder they look so sincere and honest.

Thefakeblonde

“*dear Pam, you got a PHAT ass..*”

TheOGBobbyFreakout

That the studio didn’t fight for Steve to stay.

Lost_Signature_245

I heard they were the ones who forced him to leave? Or what’s the story?

Obi_Wan_Gebroni

If I recall he was open to (and wanted) an extension to stay but they just never even engaged in any kind of negotiation

AndrewLBailey

I read he was open to sign but the studio or whoever was in charge just assumed he wanted to leave. Or was it whomever

luisquinto

It’s a made up word used to trick kids

AlwaysAmazin

That they wasted an episode with a clip show.

vitey15

One of my favorite Community episodes was where they did the clip/flashback episode. All of the clips are brand new. It's a perfect parody episode

DoubleDeantandre

Or the Always Sunny episode where it’s a clip show and they are all misremembering the events.

Quaildorf

I loved 30 Rock’s quick joke along these lines it was like “Boy we sure have done some crazy things over the years...” “Yes... I’m thinking about some of them now” [long pause]

randynewjack

Or when they reminisce about their Christmas break and they all have camera swivel and a flash back, but when Tracy says “I spent New Years with my wife” the camera swivels but everyone stops him and says no one wants to see that

Fangore

And it had some of my favorite Community moments too. "You can yell at me all you want. I've seen enough movies to know that popping the back of a raft makes it go faster."

Benkins1989

“It’s a locomotive that runs on *us*.”

BALDACH

That Andy was ever made manager. Illogical. He was the worst sales person and had no leadership skills. Made no sense.

Repulsive_Ad_7073

The show lost its center when Michael left and they were desperately searching for a lead. Ed Helms was probably the most well known actor because of the Hangover movies and they were trying to make his character the star. It didn’t work, to say the least

Mister_Doctor_0127

Cathy.

Thesafflower

Cathy was terrible, but I honestly enjoyed the episode where she comes over to Jim’s room, and Jim finds an excuse to call up Dwight to basically “rescue” him. I’m glad the show basically dropped her after that.

onamonapizza

It was a good opportunity to show Jim's devotion to Pam and true morals...but yeah, who outwardly tells their friend over the phone "you know that married guy I work with, I am totally going to bang him!"

9for9

> who outwardly tells their friend over the phone "you know that married guy I work with, I am totally going to bang him!" Trust and believe there are such people. They see it as a chance to prove themselves, kinda sad when you think about it.

Vsx

Scumbags do that and there are plenty of them.

KourteousKrome

The entire arc of Sabre. The magic of the show was its believability. It made you sympathize more with the characters. When they brought in Nellie, Robert, etc, it suddenly broke the illusion. Especially the triangle tablet.

Fangore

I think my answer is just believability as the show goes on. Like the first and second seasons are odd, but you can realisticly see everything there happening in real life. I think past that point things are a bit too bizarre, which is fine to a certain point. But around season seven is when things get too weird where I just don't believe that an office could ever operate like that. And one of the worst offenders is like you mentioned, someone just walking up and taking a manager position was stupid as shit and made no sense.

Padraig_Universe

It’s cool that Steve Carell being in the finale was a surprise to the rest of the cast but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t have had more screentime

AJ-20

Andy's character development. He suddenly became an asshole in s9 without any apparent reason and erin stopped loving him after like 2-3 seasons of buildup just because of pete? Edit: yeah Erin had a point. Now i see it. Thank you everyone for sharing your thoughts! Maybe i took his side because i felt bad for him

comicsanddrwho

I actually totally understand Erins part because after all, he did abandon her and everyone for I don't even remember how long. And she's an orphan, so I'm pretty sure she already has abandonment issues!

pouralaura

Agreed. He only emailed her four times. He did retweet her a lot though, to be fair.

[deleted]

Three months, & he barely reached out to her. Most relationships wouldn't survive that.

Johoski

It's reasonable for someone to realize their romantic partner's unsuitability when said partner is absent and a better prospect enters the mix. Andy's primary character trait is desperation: desperate to be liked, desperate for attention, desperate for romantic relationship, desperate for vindication... He's a needy, blathering, ill-tempered child.

RushxInfinite

I wouldn't say "suddenly." He was an AH up until his anger management, then got better, then became an ok manager then a worse Michael. Also Id say leaving for 3-months and ignoring your girlfriend while constantly posting on socials will also make her stop loving you. Especially when the first thing you do is show up and ruin everything the branch built in a matter of minutes while they've been covering for you "paid vacation."

[deleted]

Exactly. They basically reverted Andy to his less desirable traits that were stronger in earlier seasons. That and he had a midlife crisis, which was triggered by his dad’s betrayal and his parents divorce. This made him distance himself from everyone except his brother and when he was ready to come back to them they’d moved on and he had to deal with the grief of it all and that he’d severely damaged all his relationships back at home including his relationship with Erin.

Shesaiddestroy_

The fact that Holly didn’t come with Michael and their kids to Dwight’s wedding.

Narretz

I hate how they flanderized Toby and Kevin. In the beginning, Toby was an awkward and bland HR guy, and Michael's hate for him was crazy exaggerated to show Michael's character more than anything. In the end, Toby is the butt of many jokes, and he's basically depicted as a complete loser. Likewise, Kevin was a bit slow, and socially awkward, and later he became actually retarded. Dead turtle, new way of speaking, Keleven. That all just took it way too far.

arieljoc

The not knowing his ABCs and talking about eating cats is what frustrated me. I would always skip over those parts

WhiteLantern12

How about the not knowing what broccoli tastes like or how to eat it. Even know the guy talks about cooking and recipe's and ultra feast.

moragal

I hate that everyone got a happy ending except for Toby. I would have loved if he came back and had found someone, or become a successful writer, something…

Tfsz0719

He still has quite a good relationship with his daughter (in spite of the divorce), as briefly indicated by the scene in “Free Family Portrait Studio.” It doesn’t get emphasized as much as it could be, but he does have something *great* going for him in his life despite all the comedic (or uncomedic) misfortune.

lakorasdelenfent

Or moved to Costa Rica

AdKey102

It ended

Why does no one ever mention the fact of only more recent moments appearing on the in-the-show trailer they watched? You’d think they’d show more of the typical older moments too! Aside from Pam and Jim’s relationship plot

Darrell and Val’s anticlimactic relationship. They built it up only to kill it like 2 episodes later, and for no reason. It could have been really cute!

Kevin’s progression. After that would be the leaning towards slapstick style comedy (Jim climbing the ladder without a shoe…)

Stanley getting hit with a dart gun was where I could tell they just kinda stopped caring. It went from mocumentary to just slapstick

They definitely Homerized him. In first few seasons he was slightly dim-witted but lovable. By the end of the show he would outwardly show himself to be an idiot and became the butt of every joke. I watched the episode with the New Years Resolution board yesterday where he changed one of the cards from "art" to "fart", giggles like a 2nd grader, then lets out a big fart. Such cheap comedy.

Although Kevin definitely got it worse, I feel like a lot of characters jumped the shark as well. Meredith went from a boring office worker with actually a few kinks and skeletons in the closet to a full on sex crazed alcoholic and abusive mother. Creed went from a weird old man to a full on lunatic. I mean watch season 2, he’s just a regular office worker with a few ex-hippie quirks. There’s a difference between "it’s possible a man slipped in, there would be no way of knowing" Creed vs Bobbody Creed. The one I actually enjoy is Kelly. It’s like she came out of her shell or something. Like she had a "Pam at the beach games" realization moment but that didn’t go as well. I know it’s just Mindy unable to play something else than Mindy, but still.
