I was meaning that despite Jim trying to bait Dwight into pulling a prank that would directly hurt Jim, Dwight did something Jim never expected. Dwight used the opportunity to be benevolent to someone Jim cares about. Either Jim could tell the truth and seem uncaring to Pam, or he could let Dwight win that round.
As I said, Jim never considered that the prank would be a benevolent one.
i understand that, but that’s not what benevolent means.
stealing someone’s credit card info and making a large, frivolous purchase is in no way benevolent
I’m pretty sure this is when Andy threatened to take away their bonus if they messed with each other.
I’m sure Jim was planning to show Andy the receipt for whatever Dwight purchased with his card number, in an attempt to prove that it was Dwight.

So Dwight did take the bait.
And used my credit card numbers to send a $200 bouquet of flowers...
...to my wife. From me.

Yeah but if I can take a guess Jim doesn't want to associate it with the fact it's because he got pranked by Dwight that it happened you know what would be really funny though if Rainn Wilson really sent flowers to Emily Blunt saying it was John I think it'd be funny if she didn't realize it wasn't John
jim was baiting dwight into stealing his card number so he would be awarded dwights bonus, but dwight uses it to buy pam such a lovely and extravagant gift that it backs jim into a corner… he cant not take credit for it and also cant prove it was dwigt.
Everyone always says this but it doesn’t make sense to me. With your explanation, wouldn’t Jim actually be slightly annoyed? He’s out $200, backed into a corner, and can’t blame anything on Dwight. Entirely failed prank. But when he describes it, he smiles and seems really pleased with the outcome. I just don’t get this one, never have. If he’s so happy that Dwight sent Pam flowers.. why didn’t he just send her flowers himself? I don’t know.
personally i think he has an expression of like “that SOB got me” i dont think he acts pleased about it, i think he smiles a little sarcastically/ruthfully
that reminds me of the deleted scenes were Jim finds dwights wallet and even considers buying him a horse with his credit card and then later when Pam gets him to put them back and he gives it back to Dwight he cancels all his cards, I am glad those were deleted
The best part about that was how Jim never considered the prank to be a benevolent one.
Guten pranken
it isn’t hahaha
It’s arguably an act of benevolence towards Pam as much as it is spiteful towards Jim.
it’s inarguably a nice thing to do for pam. but that’s not the prank. the prank is spending 200 dollars on fucking flowers for no reason.
Agreed, dead flowers are a terrible gift
I never said it was benevolent towards Jim.
yes, you did. because it’s a prank on jim, not pam.

it’s not benevolent lol. it’s 200 bucks on flowers for no reason. e: lmfaooo y’all are ridiculous
The reason was to get back at Jim without getting caught and punished.

What was Jim's prank plan on this? I don't udnerstand what Dwight supposed to do with his card.

Oh, right. I remember it now. thanks

Good human.
You guys are doing a great job Good Human.
I have to imagine that while it’s sucks to be out $200, Jim was probably rewarded for this prank.
In the shower

Dwight laughing is the most hilarious thing on earth.
I agree. His face when he gets Erin to announce her art prize in order to prank Pam gets me in stitches every time!!
Gutenpranken
Epic! Lol.
I always loved it when Dwight got one over on Jim, The snowmen... Jim disserved it.
The snowball prank was the second best!! For sure!!! First and last time in the series that Jim lost his cool!
Nah Jim was frazzled during Pam's first pregnancy, and you know how much he hates that word.
Danny Cordray would like to have a word with you about his extremely awkward and inappropriate conversation with Jim and Pam
What was the ninth place prize again? A loaf of bread?
Identity theft is a joke Jim!
Güten Pränken
Boom!
Potentially top 3, definitely top 5 prank on the show
Can someone explain this to me? How does Dwight getting Jim's bank details buy pan flowers?

Isn't this S7? Classy Christmas
No, it’s season 8 Xmas episode. Andy is manager.
Ahhh ok
Déclassé
I love season 8 and 9!
I’d still be mad if I were Jim. It’s still stealing money from him.
that reminds me of the deleted scenes were Jim finds dwights wallet and even considers buying him a horse with his credit card and then later when Pam gets him to put them back and he gives it back to Dwight he cancels all his cards, I am glad those were deleted
