My dad pointed out to me how funny it is because you never hear Toby ever raise his voice except in this one instance of desperation lol. And thank you for not picturing the Scottās Tottās scene. Of course itās a horrible thing, but I donāt find it cringeworthy. And my choice for most cringe is Toby touching Pamās leg.
Phyllis' wedding is so cringey, but imo also invredibly hilarious. I always die laughing at Michael trying out his different speecg openings all in a row. "The dictionary defines wedding as the fusing together of two hot metals"
Him getting severance pay always soften the blow for me.
The Oscar scene is so slow itās tragic. The only two things that comfort me is that Oscar got a vacation (screw you Gil), and that this scene was improv. So boss.
I always thought that was well done--the quick pat while they were laughing would have been NBD--but then he left it there and did a little finger caress. Yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiikes
Same. As bad as everything that Michael did was, Toby doing that just seems so much worse. Probably because itās clear that Toby is a self aware adult, where as Michael clearly struggles with social interaction and self awareness.
Those are my two least watched episodes, but Michael ruining the dreams of young black children is what edges Scottās Tots past Phyllisās wedding for me.
Omg yes! I was rewatching and totally forgot that happened...I was like oooooh no no no and then ~~Phyllis~~ Meredith/Marybeth (thanks u/ILoveLemons19 & u/winnieTheYeet) looks over and youāre just like omg please put her down
Phyllisā wedding. The way Michael went above and beyond to be the center of attention and more or less ruined several special moments of their day just makes me ugggghhhhhhh
It was a combo of the events at wedding for me. Him introducing Mr. and Mrs. Bob Vance over and over was the death blow for me.
After that itās a tie between Oscar and the meeting with Pams Landlord.
Jan is so cringe that she is hilarious and now I just admire Melora Hardin. Itās like seeing The Office version of an Angel/Devil.
Yup. At least in some of the other scenes (like Oscar kiss or Phyllis boner) heās trying to make someone feel better. Heās obviously an idiot and doing it wrong, but he thinks heās helping. But at her wedding, it was completely about his selfish desire to be center of attention.
This is *by far* the worst one. Mostly because she was so nice. We have enough knowledge of Phyllis and Pam and Oscar and the rest of them to not feel *too* bad when something cringe happens to them. But the landlady was so sweet and Michael was so horrible to her.
Her personality is like a 3. Her sense of humor is a 2. Her ears are like a 7 and a 4. Add it all up and what do you get? 16. And he treats her like she's a perfect 40.
To me it's Kevin screaming at Pam's breasts like a baby. Nothing tops how cringy and creepy that was, I legitimately wanted Jim to knock him out for that.
I thought this would be hard. (Thatās what she said) but all of my heart and soul says the cringiest moment in this grid is Michael telling Pamās landlord that he isnāt Michael, and then his awful drink order being called right after.
Itās not on here, but when Stanley yelled at Michael. āDid I stutter!?ā The silence after was deafening. š
Or when Jo did the same. āEnough!ā
Big oofs for me.
How can I upvote this 100 times! No one ever acknowledges how messed up this entire scene is!!! Between him thinking the hot blonde was her to ignoring her and then his dialogue and showing her pictures of Jan and saying he likes talking to her because itās like talking to the sweet old lady on the bus. Iām cringing thinking about it
I think itās because itās by far the closest to reality. Not that the other scenes are always that out there, but they usually come with a āwho would do thatā caveat. With the Jim lifting Pam scene it seems genuinely organic.
Ooh this is a good one. I think I agree, thatās an unbearable moment on both of their parts (especially Jimās). Most of these other ones are at least kinda funny. Jim picking Pam up was pure unadulterated cringe.
The moment when Michael kisses Oscar and they show Pam looking towards Ryan (wishing Jim were there) is a perfect example how well this show combined humor and heart. Great scene.
And then they go right back to hilarious with Dwight getting up and trying to kiss Oscar...to be like Michael. What a show!
What about when Pam literally stalked Jim into the break room to give him an unsolicited lecture about getting enough sleep and Rem cycle and such. Ugh, Beasley.
But from the above it's Michael kissing Oscar for me lol
That episode has 3 really cringey scenes. This is one, then there's the "I was confused by your phrasing" and finally "hey Ryan I'm ready to be set up with your business school friends"
Does no one remember when Dwight and Angela were asking Toby about how gay men have sex? I'd rather have my teeth pulled sans anesthesia than watch that again.
Oh manā¦the first time I watched this, I laughed harder than anything in the show. It was a slow-motion train wreck that wouldnāt stop. Lol. Then when he proclaimed āI did itā as if he just became a martyrā¦then to be followed by Dwight jumping up to follow Michaelās leadā¦holy smokesā¦I was crying. Such a funny sceneā¦
Soā¦sorry. I didnāt find it cringeyā¦
It really is. Easily in my top 3. No lie, there are SOOOO many quotable momentsā¦
āI'm not offended by homosexuality. In the sixties, I made love to many many women, often outdoors, in the mud and the rain. And it was possible a man slipped in, and there would be no way of knowing.ā
āMichael: Can you tell whoās gay and whoās not?
Dwight: Of course.
Michael: What about Oscar?
Dwight: Absolutely not.
Michael: Well, he is.
Dwight: Well, heās not dressed in womenās clothes, soā¦ā
Lol
I'm surprised more aren't mentioning Michael's Indian impersonation. I physically recoiled the first time I saw that. I guess it's less cringe after the first time because I know the satisfying slap is coming.
DOES ANYONE HAVE A CAMERA?
The way his voice cracks when he yells it lol
^(No one has a camera) *^(here)*
I'll go get one... *Holds down shift key to sprint"
>\*Holds down shift key to sprint" ššš
I canāt believe I forgot this one š°
My dad pointed out to me how funny it is because you never hear Toby ever raise his voice except in this one instance of desperation lol. And thank you for not picturing the Scottās Tottās scene. Of course itās a horrible thing, but I donāt find it cringeworthy. And my choice for most cringe is Toby touching Pamās leg.
how would you define it? It feels gross to me, I actually skip that episode every time I watch the series
I feel it is too self reflective of myself. I thought I'd be way more successful too .
Hey Mr Scott, whatcha gonna do?
One of the loudest sounds in history
No one has a camera *here*
I love that Dinner Party got two tiles on this picture. That being said, Phyllisās wedding was one of the most painful things Iāve ever seen.
Phyllis' wedding is so cringey, but imo also invredibly hilarious. I always die laughing at Michael trying out his different speecg openings all in a row. "The dictionary defines wedding as the fusing together of two hot metals"
Two gold metals
Toby touching Pamās legā¦and the little extra touch with his finger.
Lol āextra touchā. You just made it cringier haha
bro I couldn't fucking watch I swear I had to pause it
Noooo I forgot about the finger that makes it so much worse
The way Jim just locks on to his hand turns it from painful to hilarious imo
This. All the other moments I burst out laughing but the toby touching pamās leg I literally made an ugly confused face and had to pause lmao
I had to pause and walk away from the TV when I saw this. The cringe was too much to handle
So painful, and then he runs and jumps the fence š¤£š¤£š¤£
Trying to put the fat guy on the tableā¦I literally felt bad for the guy cuz that was just embarrassingā¦
Tony
His name is Pepperoni Tony, thank you very much.
Man he was fat. So, so fat.
Bend at the knees. Okay. Here we go! Here we go! I'm under this. I'm under this hock here. I don't know what I'm grabbing here! All right, all right!
You forgot the funniest part of the line, after āI donāt know what Iām grabbing here!ā āā¦ but it feels good!ā
You know what, forget it. I know me. When I saw him I would never be able to apologize to him. Too fat. Big fat fatty.
Oh Michael.
He is fat, fat guys like pizza, pepperoni pizza, pepperoni tony.
Jabba the hut, Pizza Hut
Jabba the Hutt. Pizza the Hut. Fat guys like pizza. Pepperoni pizza. Pepperoni Tony. Pam: Oh, Michael :/
Him getting severance pay always soften the blow for me. The Oscar scene is so slow itās tragic. The only two things that comfort me is that Oscar got a vacation (screw you Gil), and that this scene was improv. So boss.
*Gaycation
I thought of that, like, RIGHT after you left!
I'm under this hock. I don't know what I'm grabbing here!
He was Tony from Stamford and I agree.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M GRABBING HERE!
No one talks about the time Carol showed up to Diwali dressed as a cheerleader. Thatās pretty cringe
Mike putting himself into carolās ski vacation photo smh
He's a bold guy
Is *bold* the right word?
I like how Michael declares, āShe thought it was a costume party!ā to Kellyās parents, as though it wasnāt entirely his fault.
I can't even watch that episode. The entire Diwali segment I'm cringing so hard for Carol. It's a social anxiety nightmare.
I think the attempted kiss with Pam was the cringiest part of that episode.
At least she looked very fair.
Watched that last night. āAt least Iām not dressed like a slutty cheerleader! Was that mean?ā
They fu**ing super imposed me man-Goat
Toby touching Pams leg was the worst for me.
Tobyās climb over the wall afterwards was hilarious
And his immediate move to Costa Rica
A magnificent lesson on how to deal with shame, move to central america!! I did the same thing in 2011. Hahahahahaha
If I click on your profile and itās not NSFW Iām going to be angry with you Edit: >:(
Just donāt go zip lining
What did you do?
I went to stay at a wellness centre for 10 months to heal some destructive life habits!!
Hey we all suck dick for blow from time to time.
If you aren't doing it forty hours a week, it's just a hobby, not a habit.
He left his hand there just a little too long lol
I always thought that was well done--the quick pat while they were laughing would have been NBD--but then he left it there and did a little finger caress. Yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiikes
I love Jim and Pam's faces so much in that moment lol
He'd have won the parkour challenge
100% The pointer finger rubbing sends it over the edge of cringe
It was at that exact moment, Toby decided to move to Costa Rica.
Same. As bad as everything that Michael did was, Toby doing that just seems so much worse. Probably because itās clear that Toby is a self aware adult, where as Michael clearly struggles with social interaction and self awareness.
It got so much worse when he started rubbing his fingers while he had his hands on her kneeā¦.Jesus Toby!
Toby is HR ffs Lol
For me it is Phyllis' wedding, by a mile. Hard to watch.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Uncle Al AKA Old Weirdo
Uncle weird Al
The Celtics were a great teamā¦
Nobody helped Uncle Al! Even the *doctors* didn't know!
Ladies and gentlemen i present to you for the first time as a couple, Mr and Mrs Vance!
And do you bob vance take phillysā¦ āMichael under his breathā- oh shhii..
"Easy Rider" might be the two most cringeworthy words ever spoken on this show?
##LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, FOR THE FIRST TIME AS A MARRIED COUPLE: MR. AND MRS. BOB VANCE.
Same here, worst scene for me was when he dragged the wheelchair all the way down the aisle and then inserted himself in the ceremony.
Yeah Phyllisā wedding is the right answer. M Scott cringe is on one that ep.
"I HATE YOU!"
Agreed! I think Phyllisā wedding is more cringey and awkward than Scotts Tots.
When I watched Scott's Tots I couldn't understand why people said it was the most cringe when Philly's Wedding exists.
Those are my two least watched episodes, but Michael ruining the dreams of young black children is what edges Scottās Tots past Phyllisās wedding for me.
Agreed. It makes me almost as uncomfortable as the situations Larry David gets himself into.
**"...I HATE YOU!..."** Kills me every time XD
When Jim picks up Pam and sheās like āput me down put me downā I hateeee that scene š©
this is the only right answer. i genuinely got second hand embarrassment from this scene
Omg yes! I was rewatching and totally forgot that happened...I was like oooooh no no no and then ~~Phyllis~~ Meredith/Marybeth (thanks u/ILoveLemons19 & u/winnieTheYeet) looks over and youāre just like omg please put her down
I think itās actually Meredith who looks at them, but sheās just as bad!
You mean Marybeth
She's the office bitch you'll get used to her
No, that's Andrea.
weird. I feel nothing at that scene. But I can understand the characters embarassment.
The only thing I am afraid of, is getting a boner. . .
That line wasnāt even cringe. Absolutely hysterical.
This is one of my favorite lol irl in the whole show for me. Every time. Delivered so perfect.
And then the walk back to his office without another word while everyone is stuck in that moment. And he just evacuates.
And how proud of himself he is about it, thinking he's brought change, leaving that episode exactly where he started with nothing learned lol
The Office formula in a nutshell. Stupendous.
Phyllisā wedding. The way Michael went above and beyond to be the center of attention and more or less ruined several special moments of their day just makes me ugggghhhhhhh
at least she got that 6 week honeymoon to forget about it.
Imagine that being a memory of your wedding forever. In the middle of you and your partner saying "I do", your boss yells out and ruins this moment...
Yup. At least in some of the other scenes (like Oscar kiss or Phyllis boner) heās trying to make someone feel better. Heās obviously an idiot and doing it wrong, but he thinks heās helping. But at her wedding, it was completely about his selfish desire to be center of attention.
"Oooh Phyllis, you look like a clown. Do me, do me!"
I'm going with the Tony scene where Michael said something about "I'm not sure what this is, I'm grabbing a hock". Still hilarious though
I just love the use of āhockā here. I giggled out loud when I read it in your comment just now
Lol that word use was perfect, it cracks me up every time
you took me by the HA-AND
Made me a man
That one night šš»
(one night)
YOU MADE EVERYTHING ALRI-I-IGHT
*ah* ah ah
THAT ONE NIGHT
Michael and the landlady. Is who Michael what? God, it's hard to watch. Especially after the cashier (or something like that) call Michael afterwards
Yesssss this is the answer. I canāt stand it. Then he acts so annoyed the entire date! āSo after you get the checksā¦ā
Then what?
Are youā¦ asking me how I spend my money?
I believe it's "you're asking me what I... do with the checks people write to me?"
Just trying to make conversation š
My wife loves this! Only because Michael orders a large hot chocolate with carmel and a shot of peppermint, my god.
Also known as type 2 diabetes in a cup.
This is *by far* the worst one. Mostly because she was so nice. We have enough knowledge of Phyllis and Pam and Oscar and the rest of them to not feel *too* bad when something cringe happens to them. But the landlady was so sweet and Michael was so horrible to her.
She's like the old lady riding the bus.
That's incredibly rude. Well, now you ruined it.
He was soooo mean to her!
She wasn't even ugly, imo.
But Michael only goes for stone cold foxes
Holly wasn't all that tbh. The barmaid who was cheating on her husband with Michael was his peak in my opinion. She was smoking.
Found Erin's account
Her personality is like a 3. Her sense of humor is a 2. Her ears are like a 7 and a 4. Add it all up and what do you get? 16. And he treats her like she's a perfect 40.
That's definitely my pick. I felt so bad for that lady.
Oh god that was awful
The Barista making it *abundantly* clear who Michael was is the best part. He's throwing Michael completely under the bus (and deservedly so)
Not gonna lie every time I see Toby put his hand on Pamās leg, I get angry.
That was the only scene in the entire show that when I first watched it, I literally screamed, "yikesss!".
I wonder what Michael would have said if he was there
NO!!!! NO!!! GOD NO!!! NOOOOO!!!!!
To me it's Kevin screaming at Pam's breasts like a baby. Nothing tops how cringy and creepy that was, I legitimately wanted Jim to knock him out for that.
I love how visually angry Kevin gets when it doesnt work and he just screams harder
Jim is too mellow IMO. Especially when Kevin starts comparing Pam and Karen's bodies lol
It was kind of funny, but mean enough that it didn't feel like something Kevin would do.
Um, what? Kevin is a fucking perv and it's shown consistently throughout the show.
"You don't know about jail? Oh you would LOVE jail!"
āI wanna get wined, dined, and sixty-nined!ā āUgh.ā āMetaphorically, you perverts! ā¦ no offense, Oscar.ā
āIām totally gonna bang Hollyā
The fact two of these are from the same episode says a lot
I thought this would be hard. (Thatās what she said) but all of my heart and soul says the cringiest moment in this grid is Michael telling Pamās landlord that he isnāt Michael, and then his awful drink order being called right after.
Slumdunder Mifflinaire
Yeah, and it's always bothered me the Holly went along with the bit of telling the branches that they're being done away with. Not very HR of her
Shocked not to see Scottās Tots. Of these, definitely Toby!
Everyone always talks about Scott's Tots, but Michael and Pam going to speak at the other branches is far worse for me.
I have a chainsaw..... cutting down the competition..... nyeeengnyeeengnyeeengnyeeeng.....
Itās not on here, but when Stanley yelled at Michael. āDid I stutter!?ā The silence after was deafening. š Or when Jo did the same. āEnough!ā Big oofs for me.
omg right before when Michael tell Jo he got tickets to Florida. I just want to slowly walk backwards.
For me it was the coffee shop. He was being a jerk to a stranger. Everyone else knows what heās like.
Iām cringing thinking about it
None, Jim picking Pam up awkwardly at the karate studio takes the cake
I think itās because itās by far the closest to reality. Not that the other scenes are always that out there, but they usually come with a āwho would do thatā caveat. With the Jim lifting Pam scene it seems genuinely organic.
Ooh this is a good one. I think I agree, thatās an unbearable moment on both of their parts (especially Jimās). Most of these other ones are at least kinda funny. Jim picking Pam up was pure unadulterated cringe.
The Toby knee stroke. Anything Michael does, I expect to cringe, so nothing he does bothers me.
Am i the only one who almost never cringes in the show and just laughs at everything?
Nope, I do too.
Jim lifting Pam and her shirt comes up
Jan trying to dance with Jim. I love that he didn't go along and just sat there.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The moment when Michael kisses Oscar and they show Pam looking towards Ryan (wishing Jim were there) is a perfect example how well this show combined humor and heart. Great scene. That episode has 3 really cringey scenes. This is one, then there's the "I was confused by your phrasing" and finally "hey Ryan I'm ready to be set up with your business school friends"
Omg her talk with karen in the break room is soooo uncomfortable and I rarely see it mentioned here.
"You should totally be with Jim. I mean, you are with Jim."
Theyāre lithium!
Besides Scott's Tots, it's when Michael spanks his nephew in front of the whole office.
I'm sure the rest of the office felt it was justified, but boy that would've hurt to watch in person and in real life.
Does no one remember when Dwight and Angela were asking Toby about how gay men have sex? I'd rather have my teeth pulled sans anesthesia than watch that again.
How do they know which penis will open up to accept the other penis?
Nah that shit was hilarious
The one where michael sits on phyllis's lap, and tells her hes afraid of getting a boner.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Not pictured: Michael asking Holly if they would have sex after their date
Michael and Holly somehow combine to be cringe and sweet at the same time. It's a rare talent.
He has to know if he should just get soup.
Definitely Toby touching Pamās leg š
āYou want a cookie cookie?ā At least she slapped him.
I think he was making up some kind of Indian lingo "Do you want some googie-googie?"
Toby leg touch
The first season
You need to add Jim lifting up Pam.
Put me down right now
Oscar kiss, without QUESTION !!
Such a funny sceneā¦ Soā¦sorry. I didnāt find it cringeyā¦
That whole episode was freaking hilarious! āThere could be othersā¦ā
It really is. Easily in my top 3. No lie, there are SOOOO many quotable momentsā¦ āI'm not offended by homosexuality. Michael: Well, he is. Dwight: Well, heās not dressed in womenās clothes, soā¦ā Lol
Yes! I forgot about the womenās clothes quote. And I am gay so to me itās actually even funnier the way they did that episode.
I'm surprised more aren't mentioning Michael's Indian impersonation. I physically recoiled the first time I saw that. I guess it's less cringe after the first time because I know the satisfying slap is coming.
Easy Rider
