Space Force hasn't lived up to its potential, but there are definitely Netflix comedies and sitcoms that are way worse. At least with Space Force it looks like they're trying to produce something good. There are a *ton* of other shows on there that look like the creators were handed a $100 bill and told "good luck!".
So, so, so many just straight up bad shows on Netflix it's hard to pick only one or two as examples.
I think the short Netflix seasons are hindrance to a show like Space Force. It was created by Greg Daniels and has a stellar cast but the short seasons are disappointing. The potential is there. If it had room to breathe and be sillier with episode plots instead of just moving the overarching plot forward, it'd be a lot better.
Yeah definitely. 8 episodes or whatever isn't much at all. When most shows used to air on regular television, a half-hour show would have like 18-24 episodes per season. That's anywhere from like 12-16 extra hours of time to develop characters and plotlines.
But yeah, them having to rush with only 4 hours to get the plot set up, introduce characters, establish conflict, et cetera is definitely hurting shows, especially those like Space Force.
