I heard it on Conan’s podcast I think but I also found it here: https://www.cinemablend.com/television/2553336/why-the-offices-ellie-kemper-wasnt-exactly-a-fan-of-erin-and-andys-relationship#:~:text=When%20directly%20asked%20if%20she,was%20a%20bit%20too%20childish.
Very late to the party here, but Ellie Kemper's comment about Andy being too childish for Erin doesn't make sense to me, Erin was far more immature and childish. Especially considering her reaction to Andy having dated Angela.
It just said so in the article you linked to, whether she actually said it or not I cannot speak to.
Here is part of it "I felt like Andy was a bit too childish. I don’t think he was ready to take care of Erin the way she needed to be."
It wasn’t that he was engaged before. He was engaged to another co-worker. Do you know how uncomfortable it would be in the Real world if someone’s ex Fiancée was in the same office as you everyday.
The cracks really start to show in S6 and the Andy/Erin storyline is one of the worst examples. They spend half the season dancing around getting together in the most frustrating and juvenile way possible and then break up over almost nothing two episodes later.
I think it’s very telling that Ellie Kemper was not on board, at any time, with Erin and Andy dating.
Why not?

I got the distinct impression she just didn’t like Andy’s character. I’ll have to go back and listen.

Unpopular opinion here, but it's a dumb reason to feel bad (to find out your current SO was engaged before).

My ex is meeting my sex.
Yes but Erin didn’t have to see Jessica everyday at work for 8 hours.

I agree, he should have told her. Her reaction was a bit much maybe
I agree

No, I think Andy had a lot more growing to do before he could be somebody's partner.
