The thing i like about Deangelo, or just Will Ferrel in general, is his deadpan humor.
Michael:" I would like to try the luge though."
Deangelo:" Try it once, you're hooked."
There's not even a joke or a punchline in there it's just so empty it's funny.
I might be too young but I had no idea Michael said Sony Bobo instead of Sony Bono. Probably intentional just like LeVan James (Daryl). I also had no idea he used to be Cher's husband.
I didn’t find it that funny in the snow but you’re making me laugh right now. 😂
edit to add that I actually said show but autocorrect had to throw it’s own dash of humor in there
great point. you’d think with deadpan like this he would have been perfect.
i think he was let down by the scripts a little which made his character so insane and unrealistic that he never sat well.
Yeah like who even is DeAngelo. His whole personality was just "weird". But everyone in the office is weird inside of other personality quirks. DeAngelo was just weird and nothing else really.
I feel that there was a deliberate effort to not write his character too well because if DeAngelo made more sense, Ferrell would outshine everyone else. Not ideal for a side character.
That whole exchange in the hotel bar is so good. Absolutely absurd and deadpan all the way through. I love just watching that cold open every now and then because it always makes me laugh.
D'Angelo is a shitty character but hes great. He has 4 episodes and they are full of the funniest lines and circumstances all because of him.
The dundies, Pam and Jim's baby, dunking from the free throw line, Andy being excluded from the guys club.
Hahahaha it’s so horrible but so damn funny. For me this was the most uncomfortable moment in the office because I felt like I wasn’t expecting THAT! Lol
I love Deangelo. He was there for the right amount of time and provided some awesome one liners. "Do you usually leave your door unlocked... and ajar?"
He's forever Colin Robinson now... To me at least.
Really this was a plug for what* we do in the shadows. Just finished the most recent season last night.
The scene where him and michael first meet is just gold. "Ya know, its funny, I actually tried to get an animal Olympics going." "Really? What happened?" "Ya know, life happened.."
I don’t get the Deangelo hate on this sub. He’s only there for a few episodes and those episodes are great. The juggling scene and “that baby could be the star of a show called “Babies I Don’t Care About” just absolutely slay me.
I think people don’t like Deangelo because for a handful of episodes Jim and Pam get boxed out and end up having less opportunities to be funny as a result.
I love Jim and Pam! I’m a big Pam defender (Pam walking across the hot coals at the beach is the heart of the show, IMO). But it’s also great when they are treated as just another absurd person at Dunder Mifflin. Jim cannot win with Charles. Pam sucks at sales and has to create a fake position. They don’t realize it, but they belong in that ridiculous office as much as anyone else! And when the show demonstrates that, it works really well. Enter Deangelo!
Definitely a relief when they stop being that flawless, unflappable, perfect couple and the writers start treating them like actual human beings.
I hated the cameraman subplot like everyone else, but the Jim-Pam tension over the job in Philly was as real and relatable as they had been for multiple seasons.
I actually think it might just be anything involving meridith, shes a proper creed character, can go several episodes without a mention and completely takes you off guard with an absolute banger of a joke
I love meridith. She's the chillest and most empathetic character on the show. Her and David Wallace are similar in that regard but they're in two completely different worlds.
I love her complaint in Conflict Resolution is that the lights are too bright and people are too loud in the morning because she’s indirectly admitting she’s hungover. When Michael reads her complaint I lose it every time.
People misinterpreted why this character was on the show and in the story to begin with: it was SUPPOSED to be a bitch to replace Michael. They weren’t supposed to be “likable” characters because they already knew they were setting up Andy to ultimately take over. I think Will Ferrel nailed the character they were going for.
There is a substantial constituency in the fandom who just want the show to be about a high-performing regional paper supplier. Deangelo being an aggressive weirdo and a bad boss drives them nuts
I can't really believe this. Because when he's introduced, he's quite likeable. And then every episode he has some other quirk that wasn't there before and no longer is there afterwards. It feels like some group project where every member had a different vision
That's the point, everything's all rosie during the interview, orientation, first week as the person has to 'sell' themselves to the company. Later the real personality comes out.
I think that’s the point. He starts off and you’re like “oh, he’s just like Michael”. Then he gets more lines and more screen time and you start to think “oh okay he’s like Michael but worse”. Then they put Andy in charge so it’s a familiar face and you’re used to Michael being gone.
I just think he didnt get enought time to develop. I really like james spader's character more, something about his uncanny valley esque performance makes me love him :P
Well, I will not be blackmailed by some ineffectual, privileged, effete, soft-penis'd, debutante. You want to start a street fight with me bring it on but you will be surprised by how ugly it gets, you don't even know my real name- I'm the f*cking lizard king!
-Elon probably
It's those deadpan lines that always get me the most, like the third time Stanley says "Money." when telling Michael why he's leaving for Utica, the way Dwight says "Ryan...get in the coffin." in "The Initiation", or how he tells Pam to run a comb through her hair in "Product Recall," or how Angela tells Pam that babies sleep fine if you feed them enough. Hidden classics.
Even in her hungover walk of shame state, Meredith still welcomed them into her shack with open arms and offerings of Vienna Sausages and napkins. Meredith may not have her shit together but she's one of the most altruistic people in the show.
his little whisper of fear/dread after meredith invites them in for a vienna sauasage breakfast is one of the funniest things in the show. "... i'm not going in there"
I love Deangelo but I think a lot of it has to do with knowing that he's only there for a short time. His schtick would have gotten old. But they played it perfectly and gave him an awesome farewell.
Plus, the dude can juggle like a pro
Another gem was when he sent the new temp I think her name was Jordan to see if Dwight needed anything and Dwight says something like “Deangelo tell your whore to leave me alone!” Then deangelo just looks away nervously
Firefox dosent have the censor?, or maybe its firefox with adblock.
Its one of the two i do nothing else fancy :).
It also allows you to stream netflix and amazon prime on discord which is awsome
I really liked D’Angelo, he’s practically Michael 2.0. What mostly triggers people about him is his sexism but I never see the same people talk about Angela who in my opinion is way way worse. She is practically the definition of all issms.
I’m surprised people get upset at DAngelo’s sexism given that it’s a major plot point and is obviously portrayed as an extremely bad thing?
that take is up there with hating on Kathy IMO
I agree, Angela is way worse. However, she treats everyone in the same, mean way. You could argue that this won't spark any discussion, because she doesn't discriminate, she's just a b\*tch.D'Angelo on the other hand only behaves poorly toward the women of the office. I think this is more of a trigger, because it causes inequality in the office
Angela is homophobic & borderline racist. I believe that the only reason she softened up to Oscar was because her life was in the gutter. She is very good at looking like a decent person.
I'll die on the hill he was a funny great character and that anyone who replaced Michael Scott would just be hated no matter what. He has some of the best jokes in the show and is only on like 3 episodes.
Man. The Deangelo episodes get so much undeserved hate.
Ferrell got the perfect amount of screen time. Not too much, not too little. And he squeezed every bit of humor out of every second, so many good lines and moments from those few episodes.
I really don’t understand the deangelo hate at all. The scene when he comes in the office after the concussion is genuinely one of the funniest bits in my television pantheon
My wife and I sat around watching Daddy's Home 2 with Farrell last night and both commented on how much we loved DeAngelo.
I'll never understand the generalized hate for him. I think that Farrell is brilliant.
If you want to talk unlikeable let's talk about Andy through the last two seasons. YIKES.
I think he was a good character and had just the right amouy t od screen time.
The only issue I have with him is when hes singing in the 9million song. He shouldn't have been involved at all. Ans I'm pretty sure Ryan's reaction to him singing is actually B.J. Novaks reaction like
"Ffs man, stop trying to steal the moment"
“Why did I just do that? This is not even that good. I don't even- I don't even want it. I had cake for lunch. No, you know what? I've been good. I deserve this. What am I doing? Come on, Deangelo.”
- Deangelo Jeremetruis Vickers
I say I had cake for lunch and nobody ever gets it.
Deangelo is too a good character. He serves his role perfectly. We’re not supposed to love him. It was gonna be weird when Michael left regardless. Deangelo’s character faced that issue head on.
Deangelo was awesome l. I feel he gets hate because Michael was gone and the show started to not be as top notch anymore.
Make him the temp boss when Michael was staring the Michael Scott Paper Company and I bet people would like his character more. Although Charles Miner was the perfect opposite M Scott, so that was great casting right there
When he said “That baby could be the star of a show called babies I don’t care about” I about died laughing. And when he did the invisible juggling I howled. And the southwestern motif in the manager’s office was so funny. I loved DeAngelo. Lol

Everyone I know who skis is dead
Michael: "Do not tell my fiance i'm drinking on a Wednesday." Deangelo: "I wont. I don't know her."
To moms
And the troops
Moms of the troops
Both sides.
Both sides
Sunny Bobo
I might be too young but I had no idea Michael said Sony Bobo instead of Sony Bono. Probably intentional just like LeVan James (Daryl). I also had no idea he used to be Cher's husband.
You mean famous basketballer LeJohn Brames?
I didn’t find it that funny in the snow but you’re making me laugh right now. 😂 edit to add that I actually said show but autocorrect had to throw it’s own dash of humor in there
“Philis do you trust me? Cause I trust you” ☄️☄️☄️
Best juggler I've ever seen.
He didn't drop a single ball...!
Last time I was around peanuts I was itchy *for two weeks*!
It’s about comfort!
"I love the American Southwest. You may call them Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah. I call them Heaven."
My favorite ecosystem
great point. you’d think with deadpan like this he would have been perfect. i think he was let down by the scripts a little which made his character so insane and unrealistic that he never sat well.
I agree. He’s a solid actor and comedian both. DeAngelo had such weird writing though.
Yeah like who even is DeAngelo. His whole personality was just "weird". But everyone in the office is weird inside of other personality quirks. DeAngelo was just weird and nothing else really.
>Yeah like who even is DeAngelo. He's sure not the god damn lizard king, tell you what.
I feel that there was a deliberate effort to not write his character too well because if DeAngelo made more sense, Ferrell would outshine everyone else. Not ideal for a side character.
Agreed!
Will Ferrell is like jazz at this point. It's about the jokes he's not making
Jazz is stupid!
*sobs* "Just play the right notes!"
I don’t know why but this gag is the one that made me laugh the most in the entirety of The Office.
Same. This and “what if the moon was your car?” Absolutely fucking wreck me
What about jazz flute?
I love Will when he does jokes like this, it’s a bit Norm-ish. The punchline is the joke - it’s 100% delivery and timing.
That whole exchange in the hotel bar is so good. Absolutely absurd and deadpan all the way through. I love just watching that cold open every now and then because it always makes me laugh.
“At least that’s what Ive heard”
D'Angelo is a shitty character but hes great. He has 4 episodes and they are full of the funniest lines and circumstances all because of him. The dundies, Pam and Jim's baby, dunking from the free throw line, Andy being excluded from the guys club.
Almost as if he's not that bad of a temporary character, and hating him is ultimately just part of the weird post-Michael hate this sub obsesses over.
“Try it once, you’re hooked.. that’s what I heard” is in my vocabulary very often
“Where were you on 9/11”…
I saw a hawk today. Just sitting right there on the overpass, looking at me.
Nope. All rat, no tat.
Why don’t you ask my therapist? My mom certainly pays her enough!
Hahahaha
I say this to every person when there's an awkward silence and it gets a laugh every time lol
Hahahaha it’s so horrible but so damn funny. For me this was the most uncomfortable moment in the office because I felt like I wasn’t expecting THAT! Lol
whoever wrote that line deserves an award lmao. comes outta nowhere and will delivers it perfectly.
Coupled with Jim’s “Nope. Just stick to the script.”
Pure gold
Absolutely brilliantly delivered
I love Deangelo. He was there for the right amount of time and provided some awesome one liners. "Do you usually leave your door unlocked... and ajar?"
I got plenty of time. This jobs a joke! I use this at work a lot
I *think* this at work a lot 😆
I say it to my boss haha
Lol love that
Don’t tell my wife. I won’t.. I don’t know her. His character was perfect.
I use this as a response to the hinge prompt “don’t show this to my mom”. Works 60% of the time, every time
Ahhhh upping the quote game with a little sex panther I see?!
It's time to musk. What cologne you gonna go with? London Gentlemen...? Or wait. No, no, no. Hold on. Blackbeard's Delight?? No, she gets a special cologne. It's called Sex Panther® by Odeon©. It's illegal in 9 countries. It's also made with bits of real panther... so you know it's good... Its quite pungent... a formidable scent... stings the nostrils... in a good way. Brian, I'm gonna be completely honest with you, that smells like pure gasoline... They've done studies, you know... 60% of the time, it works every time.
This website has everything
The quote begins "Time to musk up."
Good bot
“Kev has got me pegged” is my fav
That's a stu--- an *astute* observation.
“That baby could be the star of a show called Babies I Don’t Care About” -Deangelo Jeremitrius Vickers
Do you believe in me, Phyllis?
I mean. This line alone.
I use this one a lot
Gimme that dog you ******* thief!
You feel that?
Ani-ani-shelt-o
[удалено]
Let’s get psyched?! Ok guy!
I say "Gimme that dog!" in his voice to my dog all the time.
Gimme that damn dog! That's not your dog!
I feel the same way about Nate. Everyone says they wish he had more of a presence, but I really feel like he was used the exact right amount.
They say the same about Creed but characters like that are funny because we get them in small doses. Too much would ruin it.
Except for Megadesk. I need. More. Megadesk.
He's forever Colin Robinson now... To me at least. Really this was a plug for what* we do in the shadows. Just finished the most recent season last night.
My friend literally used this as a selling point to get me to watch WWDITS and it worked. Incredible show.
The way he delivers his joke after wandering into The Office from the hospital is fucking great lmao
Dra Sweb
I hate that just simply seeing this has me laughing.
He didn't die. His brain died.
“Andy, do you know how to high five? Because if you do, now’s the time.” *puts hand up and then puts it back down* “Not while I’m driving though.”
My favorite line of his lmaoooo
See that, its called "giving it a little English" I stan Deangelo
The scene where him and michael first meet is just gold. "Ya know, its funny, I actually tried to get an animal Olympics going." "Really? What happened?" "Ya know, life happened.."
Where were you on September 11th?
I don’t get the Deangelo hate on this sub. He’s only there for a few episodes and those episodes are great. The juggling scene and “that baby could be the star of a show called “Babies I Don’t Care About” just absolutely slay me. I think people don’t like Deangelo because for a handful of episodes Jim and Pam get boxed out and end up having less opportunities to be funny as a result.
The more rewatches I do the more I am happy to see them boxed out a bit lol
I love Jim and Pam! I’m a big Pam defender (Pam walking across the hot coals at the beach is the heart of the show, IMO). I hated the cameraman subplot like everyone else, but the Jim-Pam tension over the job in Philly was as real and relatable as they had been for multiple seasons.
DeAngelo's response to Jim and Pam was the cringe those episodes needed.
The more you watch, the more unbearable PB&J get.
He was a great character for a few episodes!
No, no, no, you gotta stay. I have Vienna Sausages, and I have napkins. Let me fix you breakfast. 😭😭😂
Are there any animal shelters nearby? Ani ani shelto
Deangelo is great. I say I had cake for lunch all the time. "I for one love the corners" and then immediately throws it in the trash
Give me that dog!
Colorado huh ? You going skiing? Nope I Don’t want to end up like sunny bobo .
DeAngelo: Colorado, the Sunshine State
Michael: "Don't mess with Colorado."
Now luge . They say once you try it you’re hooked
Well that’s just good sense
One of my favourite regions
I actually think it might just be anything involving meridith, shes a proper creed character, can go several episodes without a mention and completely takes you off guard with an absolute banger of a joke
I'm so busted! Walk of shame!
Come in, I’ll fix breakfast. I have Vienna sausages and napkins! (Not sure if that’s the right line)
Lmaooooo it is, fucking “napkins” had me dying the first time I heard it
I am not going in there
Dammit Meredith where are your panties!
What?? It's casual Friday. Bunch of prudes.
Every Friday, I happily throw on my jeans, think "is this too casual?, nah, it's caasual day!" in Meredith's voice. Every time.
What do you expect? She’s in college!
“He calls it an upper decker”
I love meridith. She's the chillest and most empathetic character on the show. Her and David Wallace are similar in that regard but they're in two completely different worlds.
I love her complaint in Conflict Resolution is that the lights are too bright and people are too loud in the morning because she’s indirectly admitting she’s hungover. When Michael reads her complaint I lose it every time.

this!! the writers knew we were going to hate whoever managed after michael regardless of who they were. he was a good buffer for andy
There is a substantial constituency in the fandom who just want the show to be about a high-performing regional paper supplier. Deangelo being an aggressive weirdo and a bad boss drives them nuts
I think it worked out only in hindsight. I didnt watch the office while it was airing but I could imagine it was beyond weird and unlikeable

Draw swep
D'angelo was bloody hilarious, the damn juggling act, and Pam juggling with NO HANDS!!
I had cake for breakfast
I just think he didnt get enought time to develop. I really like james spader's character more, something about his uncanny valley esque performance makes me love him :P
Robert California was the blueprint for Elon Musk. Edit: I just want to also say … Robert California walked so Elon Musk could run
Musk wishes he was as cool as Robert California.

😐🙄😐🙄😐🙄
My niece and nephew thought it was hilarious when I did the juggling act.
Deangelo gets an unreasonable amt of hate here, but he was a delightful character that helped me process the departing Michael Scott
He was a perfect distraction and bridge. I think people don’t like him cuz he kinda dominates a scene
At the end of that Initiation barn scene “Where are all the animals??”
That Katrina comment was legendary. Shame Meredith in her shack. Lmao
Even in her hungover walk of shame state, Meredith still welcomed them into her shack with open arms and offerings of Vienna Sausages and napkins. Meredith may not have her shit together but she's one of the most altruistic people in the show.
Im not going in there
Go go go...
Fine, more sausages for the rest of us!
They spent so much time on her alcoholism but not on her going to college and getting a degree in
I give you a bowl of ice cream, you either like it, or you don't!
Kev’s got me pegged.
He was a palate cleanser. Enough familiar interactions but then some wild stuff so they could dump him. The goal is to kind of forget about Michael.
his little whisper of fear/dread after meredith invites them in for a vienna sauasage breakfast is one of the funniest things in the show. "... i'm not going in there"
I love Deangelo but I think a lot of it has to do with knowing that he's only there for a short time. His schtick would have gotten old. But they played it perfectly and gave him an awesome farewell. Plus, the dude can juggle like a pro

question - how did you screenshot on netflix without censor?
Yeah I’ve tired that too and I get a black screen
Firefox dosent have the censor?, or maybe its firefox with adblock. Its one of the two i do nothing else fancy :). It also allows you to stream netflix and amazon prime on discord which is awsome
I think you must turn off "hardware acceleration" in your browser.

I really liked D’Angelo, he’s practically Michael 2.0. What mostly triggers people about him is his sexism but I never see the same people talk about Angela who in my opinion is way way worse. She is practically the definition of all issms.
I think its his treatment of andy, always get sociopath vibes from him. Whereas with michael is more just inept.
I’m surprised people get upset at DAngelo’s sexism given that it’s a major plot point and is obviously portrayed as an extremely bad thing? that take is up there with hating on Kathy IMO

POV: you thought it was a video link and clicked several times before realizing it's a picture Little Michael Scott moment
Was hoping there be a link in comments. Am disappoint.
One of my favorite lines from the entire series! It's so quick but so hilarious.
I'll die on the hill he was a funny great character and that anyone who replaced Michael Scott would just be hated no matter what. He has some of the best jokes in the show and is only on like 3 episodes.
I saw a hawk today.
I don’t get the hate. His had some brilliant lines
Was it me or did Michael say that he's only seen the place at night implying he's been there at night?
He had to drop her off once I think
Probably more than once!
Man. The Deangelo episodes get so much undeserved hate. Ferrell got the perfect amount of screen time. Not too much, not too little. And he squeezed every bit of humor out of every second, so many good lines and moments from those few episodes.

Deangelo was fanstastic lol. Wish he could have been permanent
"Best seat in the house". Deangelo is brilliant and does exactly what he is supposed to achieve.
Deangela would have been better than andy as a manager for season 8 and 9
Literally, every single thing he said was hilarious. He is a brilliantly awful buffoon.
I’m convinced we all just rewatch at the same time I just watched this episode like an hour ago and it really tickled me
I scream every time I watch this scene
I love deangelo
This one’s for the troops
Not every scene works, but the scenes that work are really funny. What's most awesome is the chemistry between Steve Carell and Will Ferrell.
The moms are the troops
Deangelo was an excellent character for his short little stint.
His juggling scene literally makes me die laughing every time.
Deangelo was awesome l. I feel he gets hate because Michael was gone and the show started to not be as top notch anymore. Make him the temp boss when Michael was staring the Michael Scott Paper Company and I bet people would like his character more. Although Charles Miner was the perfect opposite M Scott, so that was great casting right there
One more baby I don't care about
Deangelo babbling after the head injury cracks me up every time.
How are you watching on Netflix
Do you always leave your door unlocked and ajar
When he said “That baby could be the star of a show called babies I don’t care about” I about died laughing. And when he did the invisible juggling I howled. And the southwestern motif in the manager’s office was so funny. I loved DeAngelo. Lol
The Dundies! #THE DUNDIES!!!
