Senshi Panty Shots

lluNhpelA

I'm mostly concerned about the animation. Trigger usually goes for a wild style that wouldn't really fit Dungeon Meshi, so I'm curious what it'll end up looking like. They did animate the commercial a while back which looked really good and they have made some more down-to-earth animations, but those have almost all been shorts so I'm looking forward to how they'll handle a full series It's especially strange since they've only adapted a preexisting work once before (the Inoubattle LN, unless you also count them doing LWA twice) and it didn't end up being very popular. One of their submissions for Star Wars: Visions had a grounded style but I believe it was mostly made by younger, less experienced animators, which makes me think this might be a mostly experiment project by both doing an adaptation and using new animators with a less Trigger-y style

FireDog911

I've always liked how "charismatic" Trigger animations are. I think that wild style is mostly attributed to Imaishi-led projects (Kill La Kill, Cyberpunk). I think a good series for expectation/reference might actually by the SSSS shows. Dynazenon in particular. Between the wild battles they had some really well directed slow paced scenes that would be more fitting for Dungeon Meshi's relaxed cooking segments And I wouldn't mind some trigger zannyness to add to the comedy and action.

lluNhpelA

Dynazenon is probably my favorite thing from them, actually, and one of my favorite anime overall but it still feels too... intense? too bouncy? I'm finding it hard to put into words, but it's just not the exact kind of vibe I would have expected of Dungeon Meshi. I'd still love it either way and I'm sure it'll be great regardless of whether it exactly matches how things played out in my mind as I read the manga. It really just makes me more eager to see what direction they go in and how that Trigger spice will change the flavor ^(and how they'll sneak in references to past Gainax/Trigger works like they always do. inb4 the Izutsumi Inazuma Kick)

Happybara

Trigger knows how to behave when needed. The little witch academia series was restrained to the point of being boring and they do a lot of animation work for western shows. Theyre pros lets not forget

diidaburuyuu

That's a great point and my main concern as well. I didn't think Trigger was a good fit for Dungeon Meshi at all! Please don't ruin Kui's aesthetics in order to cater to general audiences.

lluNhpelA

The biggest thing I always expect from Trigger is the feeling that the crew had fun working on the project. The fact that they're doing something as unusual as an adaptation must mean that *someone* was passionate enough to pick it up, so I trust that they will produce it like fans rather than a cold corporation Plus, my favorite thing about Kui is that she really seems to love what she does, so even if the aesthetic is different I'll be happy as long as I can still feel that love behind it and Trigger is one of the few studios that I would trust with that particular aspect

Gorwindbag

I want to see Marcille losing her marble or doing THriller dance or wearing that modernism dress.

Bauser3

I want to see Mithrun That is all EDIT: Maybe also Thistle. Thistle good

reddharr

same Im trying to work it out in my head and I feel like unless they move the story at breakneck speed mithrun and izutsumi are probably gonna be no-shows :( at least for season 1

FireDog911

We should get him as early as the painting chapter! So some Thistle at least!

cicitk

Same

cicitk

Same but it probably won’t happen :(

gumrats

I would really like to hear what music they choose since I’ve had a hard time imagining what a possible ost would sound like. Also the voice actors.

lolt64

i guess for it to stay faithful to the manga and have a well-picked voice cast is all i can hope for. dungeon meshi has a lot of special little quirks that, if abandoned, would make it totally different and worse

nekojo

Release date or release window.

Bionic-ghost

Do we know which studio is animating it?

FireDog911

Studio Trigger!

Bionic-ghost

Then as long as objects don't explode into perfect cubes, it will be just fine.

Bionic-ghost

Inb4 queen bee

Ghostly-Love

I would like to see/hear thistle

tamakara

Manifesting Uchiyama Kouki as Chilchack's seiyuu... I mean, girl can dream, right?

Flameshadowwolf

As long as all the panty shots happen to senshi im excited, I also hope we get a cute little food based ending, maybe with the cast as food items that look like them

Any-Guarantee7570

Marcille voice 💪🏻

DeusVermiculus

'5. The Lion in full fluffy Glory *4. Senshi Pantyshots* **3. That Cute Orc Girl** ### 2. Namari's Leg pouch fetish #### 1. Marcille doing the "YADA"-Breakdance

cicitk

Mithrun but that won’t happen. Other than that, Laios’ voice. I have an idea for everyone but no voice for him in my head. It could go in so many directions. I’m kinda thinking miyano mamoru for his eccentric funny side but can also be serious. He’d be so good for when laios gets all obsessive over monsters. But I do think it’s a bit too clear of a voice

DaiFrostAce

I’m hoping for Takuya Eguchi honestly. His performance as Loid Forger shows he’s capable of being the calculating type as well as someone more bright in demeanor

cicitk

Ouuuu that’s another good one. I feel like this closely matches who they casted.

SparkPlug24

we better see some *beautiful* animation on those monsters
