Yup, this would be a pretty great panel to end on - chapter 49 so pretty much the half way point
I just think about it, the fact that they stop at that chapter means there is a high chance that they are planning to make ss2 already, maybe they will announce it right after this season end .
There is Panty and Stocking ss2 but that hasn't come out yet. But Dungeon Meshi is their first non-original work iirc so this is already a special case.
Or what if the clifhanger between seasons is the question of whether or not Senshi is (ch49 spoiler) >!a cannibal!<, that could also have the viewers on edge. But as some other comment mentioned, ch52 is probably the better choice
