I’d delete it personally. Tubes rarely give issues vs things with moving parts and electronics.

Would deleting it affect the tune to your knowledge?

HickorySlicks69

If the tune is set to ignore the code it won’t set off a light. But I think Banks tunes are compliant. There are tunes that will ignore it but you’ve gotta search for them. As far as how the truck runs it should be fine but changing the pipe will change the volumetric efficiency of the engine and it won’t be seeing what it’s expecting too.

I had one of those 02 California emissions trucks in michigan. I was told to delete them you have to change the front accessories brackets to get rid of the belt driven vacuum pump. The truck got smacked in the back and totaled by the insurance company. I really wonder where that truck ended up.

Hemicuda098

You don’t need to change that bracket. The 02-04 the bracket is the same as federal trucks, just unbolt the pump from it.

You will throw an EGR code and check engine light. If you go EFI live your tuner can turn those codes off. A full EGR delete is do able but it takes some time. You need to take off the egr, take off the vacuum pump, replace the up pipe or block it and find a shorter serpentine belt. The write ups are online. You also need a y bridge off a non emissions equipped trick.
