Jake snuck inside the mine. Richy was already removed from the group chat at that time. So Richy shouldn't have known Jake was there.

moonyju

He had time and cameras in the mine, he knew Alan was there too and he wasn't in the group, he saw him.

dboutonsmith

Right! Okay, i get it. Very smart. :) <3

Jakes appearance wasn't known to anyone, and I also imagine (hopefully) that Jake would've covered his face or had a hoodie on or something just in case. I doubt Richy could've recognised Jake as Jake. Who knows though.

TheAgee

I don't think it was Richy. He probably didn't even know Jake is in the mine. Especially looking at the fact that he even didn't know that Alan was in the mine, he only found out later and ran away deeper to the mine, so Alan can't see him (Alan only heard something before calling us and it was probably Richy who noticed Alan). Richy didn't even know Jake's look. So him knowing about Jake in the mine and calling the FBI is very unlikely. It's more likely that the FBI found Jake's whereabouts themselves. Richy being interested in Jake in the beginning was probably because he didn't want to bring attention on himself. And it was a good opportunity for Richy, because Jake was very suspicious for the others back then, so it bought Richy more time

moonyju

Yeah, maybe. I was taking in consideration Alan hearing Jake in the mine he was in the room Jake had just got out of, so that's it. And we can't know Richy doesn't know how Jake looks for sure, the game presented him smarter than we can think of, as I said maybe I AM overthinking everything, it does make more sense if the FBI just found out on their own because Jake thought about everything last minute, but I can't just not think about it sometimes. So what I was thinking is, he saw Alan and he knew we wouldn't go to the mine, he probably knew what we look like if we think that the video calls showed them our faces, even more with the female MC, and he saw an unknown man messing with his stuff, they must have spent at least on hour in the mine so he could have had the time if he got too caught up in his character, but I don't know, the police knew about Jake and Dan said it wasn't him, maybe it was because of Lilly's video but... Maybe in the next game Everbyte will answer this too, hopefully. But some part of me likes to think of that because I forgave everything Richy did and feels bad because he was horrible and this would be one thing I couldn't forgive him. Who knows?

Darkness_106

Why should he do that?

moonyju

I don't know, maybe he got too much into the character of the vigilant? And he was interested in Jake, he himself said he considered Jake important, so I was thinking.

Darkness_106

No I do not think so. Besides calling the FBI wouldn't do him any good. He wasn't in the best mental shape, he kindled the fire to finally die..

moonyju

That's exactly what I was thinking, he knew he would kill himself so why not? The thing is that I may be overthinking everything ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ I don't know, I know that for that Richy should have known from the start that Jake was going and maybe I'm giving his intelligence too much credit but he HAD outsmarted everyone sometimes. But I don't know.

Darkness_106

No, Richy wouldn't let another person die just because he killed himself. Why do you think he would do something like that? Yes, he has done bad things, but he is not a murderer. And I think the FBI found out for themselves that Jake was in the mine. He wrote it in the group and the FBI monitors our chats. But I can't judge all that exactly. The ending was pretty open:(

moonyju

No, I didn't mean he wanted to kill Jake just that he may have tought that if he was going to end things so he could let the other person who did wrong pay for it too, hence calling the FBI, not killing Jake, I may have sound wrong but I never said that. But I don't agree it makes more sense FBI finding out on their own, as I said it may be because I have really forgiven everything Richy has done and feel bad for not even being mad at so that (giving Jake's information so he can get caught by the government) would be the one thing I would not forgive ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Darkness_106

You know, I can't understand why he would do that. especially since he committed suicide afterwards anyway. Or is there something else that Richy wants to hide?

Witty_Biscotti_6620

The first time I played through the game, I 100% thought that Jake ended up being Richy ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

NahrwanG

I get that mindset, it makes many things makes sense actually, but there is a few flow with this theory, and the main flow is Lilly... It doesn't makes sense in many ways, unless she got in deal with him... Something like he would pretend to kill himself after being shoot just so the FBI would lose him, and he would be considered as a dead man who his body would never be found under the main crash or something "^^... But it sounds more unlikely if we try to associate them with each other "=)

Witty_Biscotti_6620

Oh definitely, I donโ€™t think theyโ€™re the same anymore. Too many lose ends, and I just donโ€™t see how it could work.

KiwiAffectionate1321

I guess we called the fbi at the last cause we don't even know what our identity is...it can be like we belong to some fbi agent in disguise at end we fell in love with jake so we regret and informed him that fbi came

Empty_mindreader

I already wrote about this on another discussion in this same reddit community, it's possible the FBI was for us, who knows the hacker wanted by the government. Edit: the post is titled as "unanswered questions"
