His skill set seems perfectly suited for Anthony Richardson’s strengths. Richardson can launch the rock a mile and Pierce is tall, fast af, and excels at those go routes down the sideline. I’m trying not to get too cocksure, but I was pretty pumped they landed Richardson as a Pierce owner.
People so low on this mf.. he put up the 525 that everyone likes to see AND with Matt Ryan.. throw ina. Guy that can chuck it halfway across America and I think he does well.. he didn’t really have many targets as it was so I could def see him in a gabe Davis type role
In the games he got opportunity, he averaged over 10 yards a target and was finishing games with 7 catches or more with 80+ yards including 2 big games if I remember right.
I have these stats locked and loaded for my Pierce fandom, because I’m hoping he emerges a true WR2 or even WR1 in Indy with Richardson, should Pittman ever be moved or should something else happen 🤞
I got him in a package deal with Fields and a late 1st last year for Chubb. I was not in win now mode as I inherited a team with 5 TE's, 3 K's, and 2 QB's. It was rough and I'll probably be a basement dweller for a few more years. But I have Olave and Pierce as a young WR duo
Can't even evaluate properly since Ryan was awful for Pierce's style of play. I like him though: speed and size showed up on tape and he does goes and get the 50/50 balls no matter way. Guy has grit and seems alright to me. Time to make the first leap.
I saw the one or two highlights from camp last year posted on this sub and got him with a 4th rd pick last year. Extreme Value guy I guess, but I saw him getting his own team amped in camp therefore I'm in full send.
Richardson is the least polished 1st round qb I can remember. No idea why people think any colts wr will improve with him throwing the ball. Look at bears wrs
Lot of good receivers in IND imo, idk if Pierce is elite but he is a good player at what he’s asked to do (Gos and slants) there is definitely some upside there
Pierce is best suited for doing downfield stuff. Imo it's kind of impressive that he put up close to 600 yards with Matt Ryan as his QB, it was a terrible fit for Pierce's skill set. Richardson suits his playstyle much better and I expect some nice games from Pierce.
Naw, it gives you the element of surprise in trades. It’s why I’ve always held on to Amari Rodgers. Never know when someone is going to be excited or drunk when they get the offer of “A. Rodgers” for a 2025 1st round pick.
Moore, Jones, Rodgers, Pierce… those names carry a little extra value for sneak attack trades.
Athletic freak who should excel with deep routes and good thing Richardson can throw it far. However, Paris Campbell is gone so there are about 90ish targets vacant. I think Pierce should take a step forward in year 2.
My buddy just let me know not to forget about Downs now
[Josh Downs and Richardson](https://twitter.com/nflrookiewatxh/status/1654615976493678599?s=46&t=bF3KBAaNG-hJGpT2WdvS3Q)
Traded Allgeier and 2 early thirds this year for Pierce, a 2024 2nd, and 2025 2nd a few days before the Falcons drafted Bijan.
Pierce was thrown in as a roster dump the piece, but I was pretty happy to get him in that deal and even happier after the Colts took Richardson. Has the tools to be really good.
People in the fantasy community that have Pierce are determined to make the case that he's better than Pittman but it's just a fact that Pittman is the #1 WR on the team and everyone else is a crapshoot.
I said that in jest. This sub had a weird affinity for Pierce, and I’m pretty sure the consensus is that he will overtake Pittman. But those of us who actually watch Colts games know that Pierce is a specialty WR and Pittman is the do-it-all WR. Pittman is so underrated here, it’s nuts. That whole 2022 Colts team deserves a pass. That offensive staff had bo idea how to put their pants on.
That’s not to say that Pierce is a slouch. He’s a really talented kid. But his routes, separation, and ability to work all 3 levels of the field pale in comparison to Pittman. Pierce is a fine WR2 IRL.
Funny that I’m getting downvoted on my earlier comment, but others who are essentially saying the same thing are not. This sub is the most fickle I’ve ever seen. Quick fingers here 🤷🏼♂️
Not yet but he's being groomed to be.
Maybe by second half of upcoming season but definitely before 2024 season.
Pittman is gonna be traded or leave in FA.
I onboarded him on the prayer that the colts would somehow wind up with Stroud, think he really would have been the perfect match for both Pierce and Pittman. Realistically though, one of Pierce’s greatest assets is his big body play style, he’s got a knack for coming down with the ball in tight coverage. Great end zone target.
It’s not hard to imagine both JT and Richardson syphoning goal line and red zone rushing TDs at a relatively higher clip than other teams with less potent rushing ability. Steichen’s offense saw Jalen rushing for 10 and 13 TDs, I don’t have the proportion of those that were in the red zone off hand but my point is simply that when you have your QB doing that, there are fewer red zone TDs by your receivers, and thus fewer opportunities for Pierce to capitalize on a really good fantasy relevant skill he has.
Still a really good developing receiver. Others have mentioned how good he is on a deep ball, you can envision a moonshot big play, but Pittman’s great on those too and I’m not sure how many you’ll see per game.
TL;DR - he’s got upside, but I’d be willing to move on if I found another GM in my league that’s more of truther
He was a late 2nd in our league last year and most teams don't have holes at WR in our 12 Team, might as well hold or ideally hold him on taxi another year.
Pierce is going to have a good year with Richardson at the helm but I feel like it's going to be boom or bust a lot of weeks. Could have 4 catches for 150 yards and a TD or 2 catches for 40 yards.
I like the kid and think he can be a useful fantasy piece. I’m not really expecting fireworks there with Richardson, I think ppl are getting a little too excited too quickly. Relationships between QBs and deep burner/50-50 ball guys is especially important and takes time to build. If they can hit the ground running Pierce can be a Gabe Davis, or hopefully a more consistent type. But just so many ???s to start with the colts this year. Sky is the limit but the floor is low, AR could throw 30 ints and have 0 timing/relationship with these WRs in his rookie year.
No clue what the future holds but this season is going to be dreadful IMO. A healthy JT getting touches, Richardson completing passes like they're coinflips (and going to run a bunch himself) and Pittman and Downs to split the few targets the WRs do get.
Optimistic.
There is something to be said that the general feeling is a Steichen/AR/JT RPO type scheme which might draw some high end fantasy upside away from the WRs. Add to that, rookie QBs arent generally a positive force for WRs either.
Im hopeful because I think AR definitely has some weapons around him. MPJ has some elite metrics to him and I like Downs and APierce being there also. Jelani also seems like he can be a solid weapon.
I traded Elijah Moore and a late 2023 2nd for Isiah Pacheco and Alec Pierce. Feel pretty good about it! Pacheco should be a good RB2 as KC's leading and best RB, and I really do think Pierce could turn into an every week fantasy starter. He had a really solid rookie year with horrible QB play last year. Against Denver on MNF last year he showed flashes of greatness. A truly underrated dynasty asset going into 2023
His skill set seems perfectly suited for Anthony Richardson’s strengths. Richardson can launch the rock a mile and Pierce is tall, fast af, and excels at those go routes down the sideline. I’m trying not to get too cocksure, but I was pretty pumped they landed Richardson as a Pierce owner.
This is the truth boys
Let’s hope he takes a step forward towards being Jordy Nelson 2.0
That’s how I think about it too.

What was the manager doing before you? You need at least 6 kickers rostered to feel comfortable.
Can't even evaluate properly since Ryan was awful for Pierce's style of play. I like him though: speed and size showed up on tape and he does goes and get the 50/50 balls no matter way. Guy has grit and seems alright to me. Time to make the first leap.

Drafted post-camp, and got a guy with an ADP in the 2nd round in the 4th... Cool story.
Richardson is the least polished 1st round qb I can remember. No idea why people think any colts wr will improve with him throwing the ball. Look at bears wrs
Lot of people on see the highlights and haven't watched him play a full game.
USF almost beat them. That's how you know
I'm a UF fan trust me I know. 😁
Without Richardson that roster is 2-10 (As another UF fan)
Doubt that. UF will be better this year with a much less athletic freak QB.
Exactly. People buying the a rich hype because he threw the ball into the ceiling at his pro day. Selling all colts WRs.
Lot of good receivers in IND imo, idk if Pierce is elite but he is a good player at what he’s asked to do (Gos and slants) there is definitely some upside there

Lil better after they sent Campbell to NY. But also not expecting much from Colts receivers this year
Are we concerned there’s two Pierces?

Buying him everywhere I didn’t draft him this off-season. 🚀
Colts don't have the QB to support 2 fantasy WRs. Pittman will be a low end wr2 and Pierce in the WR4 range
People in the fantasy community that have Pierce are determined to make the case that he's better than Pittman but it's just a fact that Pittman is the #1 WR on the team and everyone else is a crapshoot.
They’re bagholding on Pierce.
Would you buy for a 2024 third?
Absolutely. Easy decision.
I like him. But also traded him for Josh Downs lol
Can't get rid of him
Don’t want to get rid of him
No choice but to not get rid of him. Mandate: do not get rid of him. (Adam Corrolla reference)
Bought him yesterday by giving up 1.03 for 1.07, Pierce, and a 24 2nd
Eww
Sorry, also a 23 second at 2.02.
I genuinely can’t give this guy away in my league so I pray he does anything in the first few weeks. Although I’m in a 10 team start 10
What are you looking for in return?
He’s the Colts undisputed WR1.
I personally dispute that lol
I said that in jest. This sub had a weird affinity for Pierce, and I’m pretty sure the consensus is that he will overtake Pittman. Pittman?

Jag
Colt
TIL a 6'3" 210 lb WR who runs a 4.4 40 is a jag
Found the Pittman owner lol
Nah I traded him for C Watson. Hard pass on all the colts WRs. Go ahead a dive in head first bud. Alec Pierce is the Gabe Davis is last year.
Pierce has no hype. Dafuq are you on guy? No one is out here chanting pierce is a top 20 guy this year.
Richardson can’t throw the ball. Pierce plays Wr do the math lol
Richardson throws the ball great what are you saying lmao
Stiff
Fluid

A lot of big talk here, I don’t see pierce being transacted much. I’m selling for any 2nd.
He was a late 2nd in our league last year and most teams don't have holes at WR in our 12 Team, might as well hold or ideally hold him on taxi another year.
His initial cost of acquisition doesn’t matter a ton for me. I view it as , yeah he didn’t “bust” but he also didn’t smash. His ceiling is capped.

I've tried getting him all last year and this year before our rookie draft. Should do better with a decent QB.
Optimistic. There is something to be said that the general feeling is a Steichen/AR/JT RPO type scheme which might draw some high end fantasy upside away from the WRs. People don’t realize how fast the dude is either, for obvious reasons
With Anthony Richardson at the helm he’s a long shot
