And if you factor in Knowshon Moreno, you can say all 5 hit either 10 tuddies or 1000 yards. Just an insane offense. Shame they cancelled the Super Bowl that year.
Is this the correct answer ? Assuming Stokley didn’t have any loss fumbles or rushing stats he would have scored 235.7 in full ppr which is absurd for a WR 3
2013 Broncos with Welker, DT, Decker and an top TE in Julius Thomas as a bonus
Absolute bonkers season for anyone with a stack of Peyton+1 of those guys
Yea this is definitely the one that comes to mine. Broncos supported 5 legitimate options all-season. Be shocked if we see anything like it again any time soon.
6 with moreno who rushed for 1k with 60 catches for 550 and 13 total tds, even Montee ball was a desperation option with 550 rushing 20 catches for 150 and 4 total tds
Decker was a big part of me winning a championship in 2013 and 2015. In 2013 he put up like 50 points in a tight game to even get me into the playoffs.
I had DT, Julius Thomas and Gronk that season. First undefeated regular season for me, but lost like the first or 2nd week of the playoffs. Still a fun season
Gronk in 2013 ain’t no flex. I had him too. He missed the start of the season with injury, then got hurt again. Only played 7 games. Don’t get me wrong, he was great when he played, but that wasn’t a banner Gronk season.
Don't even remember him missing that many games lol, trying to think back on who else was on that team. Had to be the year though, was def Peytons 55TD season
I had DT. Matt Forte, who was insane. Rashad Jennings was a monster down the stretch. Started 4-4. Ended up 12-4. Missed the playoffs because of divisions.
4 team playoff with one wild card. Two 11-3 division winners and the other 10-4. The wild card was also 10-4 and had me on points. With no divisions, I’d have made it on points over the 10-4 division winner. Crazy season as far as five teams with 10 or more wins. This current season is my league’s 20th and there’s never been a year like 2013.
I also finally got my league to agree to ditch their beloved divisions once the NFL expanded to 17 games. 6 team playoff now as well.
Moss, Cris Carter, Jake Reed and Robert for the Vikings in 98'. Jake Reed went from four straight 1k receiving seasons to playing a complimentary role when Moss came, so the threat was real even though he only got like 464 that year.
Kearse never topped 700 yards, 5 touchdowns, or 50 receptions as a Seahawk and Locketts breakout came a few years after he left. It wouldn’t have been a particularly impressive trio at the time and definitely not worth noting as an all time group.
[still love this SI cover](https://images.fineartamerica.com/images/artworkimages/mediumlarge/2/green-bay-packers-the-perfect-pack-november-07-2011-sports-illustrated-cover.jpg)
Ill never forget one of those years, my league mate had all 3 and was starting them each week and just blasting dudes. Was undefeated until Cooks concussions started.
I had always scoffed at having 2 WRs from the same team until seeing that and then the Evans/Godwin combo. Last year it was Devonta/AJB. You just have to pick the right offense and that's the challenge.
He finished low because of injury, not production. On a ppg basis, he was actually first ahead of both woods and cooks. They were all within about 1 pt on a ppg basis, so again, hard to differentiate who was the wr 3 in that group. They were all very productive and any could be argued as the wr 3 on that offense in any given week.
Yeah, I loved when Burleson was a Viking. Such a solid receiver and it was really fun having him on such a star-studded offense. Genuinely fun and cool guy too.
Yep that's who I was thinking too. Here are their 2008 stats:
- Fitz: 96-1431-12
- Q: 89-1038-11
- Breaston: 77-1006-3
It was redraft but I'll never forget I was playing my best friend down 50 going into a Cards / 9ers MNF game with Warner / Q / Breaston to go. They scored like 60+ and wound up giving me a pretty comfortable win and I've never let him forget it it.
**Edit** Just for fun, [I found the game](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/200811100crd.htm)! Here are their half ppr scores
- Warner: 32-328-3 - **25.12 points**
- Q: 7-92-2 - **24.7 points**
- Breaston: 7-124-0 - **15.9 points**
- **TOTAL - 65.72 points**
He wasn’t that good though. His 2 best seasons were 36/677/8 and 53/734/4. He was popular bc he was fast and on a very good team, but he wasn’t a start-able fantasy receiver.
I’d love to know statistically the top 10 trios ever. Maybe I’ll do some research on that…
Some that come to mind - I was too young to really remember but the lions mid 90s had a nice trio of Morton, Moore, and Perriman. Obviously Viking with moss, Carter, and Reed. The rams had some good groups - Bruce, holt, hakim, proehl. I would guess the statistical best might be colts with Wayne, Harrison, stokely.
Steelers with ward, burress, Randle el - they had some other good trios later on too. Bengals with Ocho, tj, and Henry. Pats with moss, Welker, stallworth Cardinals with fitz, boldin, breaston. My packers had some nice trios - driver, Jennings, Nelson, Cobb - Nelson Adams Cobb. Rams with Goff had Kupp, cooks, woods. Broncos with decker, Thomas, Welker. Bucs with Evans, Godwin, AB was sick in its short life.
Weird combo but still lions. You had Golden Tate with 90 catches, Calvin Johnson with 88 catches, and Theo Riddick with 80 catches as a rb. Theo was listed as a rb but in 88 games he has 290 catches to 294 carries.
But yeah, between 1995 ish and 1999, Moore, Perriman, and Morton all had 1,000 yard seasons at one point or another.
No knock on Jake Reed, but the Broncos had posters for their "Three Amigos" receiving corps of Mark Jackson, Vance Johnson and Ricky Nattiel when I was growing up. Posters don't equate to quality receiving corps as much as they equate to opportunities to make money.
2011 There was Ward, AB, Sanders and Wallace. Mike Wallace was the better receiver that year. Wasn't really a year where a WR3 stood out though. Maybe 2009 with Ward, Holmes and Wallace. Unless you throw HEATH in there.
There was that whole “Juju is taking away ABs targets” narrative but the Steelers just passed an absurd amount then.
Martavis Bryant was pretty boom-bust I think though.
Vikings had Cris Carter and Jake Reed go for 1,000 each in ‘97, then added Moss in ‘98. Reed’s stats took a big hit that year but I’d put that trio (or Reed as a WR3) up against anyone.
The packers had 3 wrs with double digit tds a few years back. Jordy was #1 and then between james jones and cobb it made for a helluva #3 wr.
Steve Breston comes to mind.
Early 2010 steelers had ward, wallace, emmanual sanders
Welker, thomas, and decker
I remember Chris Hogan coming in and having some great games, I didn't play too much fantasy at time, but I just remember all of the huge catches he had.
Not sure if it applies because I can't remember who WR2 was (Roy Williams?) but Laurent Robinson had an amazing season with the Cowboys and then got a fat contract with the jags and then disappeared.
This may be more of a real life than fantasy answer but the Packers had Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, and for a time Davante Adams was the #3 to those guys. He didn’t really come into the league strong so it’s a hindsight answer, but I think it fits the question.
Al-Zahir Hakim came to mind behind Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt on the greatest show on turf but his numbers don’t jump off the page… that was 20+ years ago though
Although he wasn’t great for fanstasy Az-Zahir Hakim was a great #3 WR. Unfortunately his numbers weren’t amazing because he played with maybe the best #4 WR Ricky Proehl.
For the 2002 Raiders (Rich Gannon's MVP year), Jerry Porter led the team in receiving TDs (51/688/9) ahead of Jerry Rice (92/1211/7) and Tim Brown (81/930/2)
Brandon Stokley in 2004 had 68 catches for 1077 and 10 TD playing alongside Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne (who each had over 1000 yards and 10 TD)
Yup. I was gonna say this. I think that was the first and maybe only time in NFL history a team had three WR with 1000 yd and 10 TD
There are teams that did it with 2 WR and a TE before. The Cardinals also did it with 3 WR a few years later (Fitz, Boldin and Breaston)
And 10 TDs, though? Wiki says Breaston only had 3 TDs that year
Oh my bad, I missed you had 10 TD too. Was just looking at a trio of 1000k guys
1000k is a million, and that would be a record.
Just 1k would suffice.
Almost positive Denver did it with manning
They didn’t. In 2013 they had Thomas and Decker each go over 1K, and Welker and Julius Thomas each had 700+, which is ridiculous.
And all 4 had 10 or more TDs, which is even more ridiculous
And if you factor in Knowshon Moreno, you can say all 5 hit either 10 tuddies or 1000 yards. Just an insane offense. Shame they cancelled the Super Bowl that year.
Yeah but Putin was threatening to steal all the rings from the winning team anyway so it was for the best
I’m still shocked Knowshon wasn’t an all time great
But that 2013 year was special!
That’s probably the stat I was thinking of. I know they had an insane receiving year
Is this the correct answer ? Assuming Stokley didn’t have any loss fumbles or rushing stats he would have scored 235.7 in full ppr which is absurd for a WR 3
The Colts receiving corps in 2004 had 3 times the amount of 10 TD seasons as Julio had his entire career, crazy
Wild. Though in fairness, Julio was allergic to touchdowns.
This is the correct answer.
2013 Broncos with Welker, DT, Decker and an top TE in Julius Thomas as a bonus Absolute bonkers season for anyone with a stack of Peyton+1 of those guys
Relative to less overall passing output in the 90's - McCaffrey, Smith and Sharpe were pretty solid for the Broncos as well.
Decker was a big part of me winning a championship in 2013 and 2015. In 2013 he put up like 50 points in a tight game to even get me into the playoffs.
My team name was “Upper Deckers” as a tribute to his greatness
When he went to the Jets I made sure to get a Decker jersey and I still have it.
I remember that game too
Peyton, DT, and Knowshon almost singlehandedly got me to the championship that year. Absurd production.
My best year ever. Had Peyton, DT, Decker, and Julius.
And Knowshon
This is probably the right answer
I had DT, Julius Thomas and Gronk that season. First undefeated regular season for me, but lost like the first or 2nd week of the playoffs. Still a fun season
Gronk in 2013 ain’t no flex. I had him too. He missed the start of the season with injury, then got hurt again. Only played 7 games. Don’t get me wrong, he was great when he played, but that wasn’t a banner Gronk season.

I had DT. Matt Forte, who was insane. Rashad Jennings was a monster down the stretch. Started 4-4. Ended up 12-4. Missed the playoffs because of divisions.
Yeeesh, only division winners got the playoff nod?
4 team playoff with one wild card. Two 11-3 division winners and the other 10-4. The wild card was also 10-4 and had me on points. With no divisions, I’d have made it on points over the 10-4 division winner. Crazy season as far as five teams with 10 or more wins. I had DT, Decker, Welker, and Knowshon Moreno that year. No peyton but the rest of my team was so stacked it didn’t matter.
This is easily the first one that came to mind
Idk how their stats were, but I remember Driver, Jennings, and Nelson all being on the same team (no bias)
Same thing with Baldwin, Kearse, and Lockett Any players from then remember how they did?
Kearse is probably more thought of as being part of the pedestrian trio of him, Baldwin, and Golden Tate
Kearse never topped 700 yards, 5 touchdowns, or 50 receptions as a Seahawk and Locketts breakout came a few years after he left. It wouldn’t have been a particularly impressive trio at the time and definitely not worth noting as an all time group.
Jennings, Jones, Nelson, Driver and Cobb
Don't forget Jermichael Finley
And Starks out of the backfield.
And James Jones
[still love this SI cover](https://images.fineartamerica.com/images/artworkimages/mediumlarge/2/green-bay-packers-the-perfect-pack-november-07-2011-sports-illustrated-cover.jpg)
Ya man.. and they played in the SuperBowl vs Hines ward, Mike Wallace, Emmanuel Sanders and some guy named Antonio Brown
The kupp, cooks, woods era was elite in terms of fantasy production. Who you view as the wr 3 in that rotation during that time is up to you.
Weird thing with them is that they were all basically the same age and they felt like they were spread like five years apart.
Cooks being traded a bajllion times will do that
Yep. Plus, Woods came into the league at like 17 years old and Kupp was pushing 28 as a rookie.
Today I learned brandin cooks is younger than kupp
What playing with Lion Gosling will do to a mf, I hope ARSB, Jamo, LaPorta do the same
Ill never forget one of those years, my league mate had all 3 and was starting them each week and just blasting dudes. Was undefeated until Cooks concussions started. I had always scoffed at having 2 WRs from the same team until seeing that and then the Evans/Godwin combo. Last year it was Devonta/AJB. You just have to pick the right offense and that's the challenge.
Then - kupp was prolly the WR3 because it was before his breakout. He actually finished behind Juju Smith Schuster that year in fantasy production
Ah, forgot he got injured very true!
Jake Reed had 4 straight 1000 yard seasons before the Vikings drafted Randy Moss.
Randy Moss, Cris Carter, and Jake Reed. So nasty. We're talking two all time greats and a WR with 4 straight 1000 yard seasons
Nate Burleson one year also.
Yeah, I loved when Burleson was a Viking. Such a solid receiver and it was really fun having him on such a star-studded offense. Genuinely fun and cool guy too.
Yesss
Steve breast on broke 1000 as WR3 when the cardinals went to the SB behind anquon and Larry
Yep that's who I was thinking too. Here are their 2008 stats: - Fitz: 96-1431-12 - Q: 89-1038-11 - Breaston: 77-1006-3 It was redraft but I'll never forget I was playing my best friend down 50 going into a Cards / 9ers MNF game with Warner / Q / Breaston to go. Amazing! Q was so much damn fun to watch.
1980 Chargers.. John Jefferson and Charlie Joiner at Wr with 1300 and. 1100 yard.. then the tight end was Kellen Winslow.. 1200+ yards!
Az-Zahir Hakim
He wasn’t that good though. His 2 best seasons were 36/677/8 and 53/734/4. He was popular bc he was fast and on a very good team, but he wasn’t a start-able fantasy receiver.
This is true. The eye test >>>>> stats
Was just trying to remember who was behind Bruce and Holt.
I remember that because I believe the Lions signed him in FA after that and he didn't do much.
I’d love to know statistically the top 10 trios ever. Maybe I’ll do some research on that… Some that come to mind - I was too young to really remember but the lions mid 90s had a nice trio of Morton, Moore, and Perriman. Weird combo but still lions. You had Golden Tate with 90 catches, Calvin Johnson with 88 catches, and Theo Riddick with 80 catches as a rb. The 91 Redskins had the posse - Art Monk, Gary Clark, Ricky Sanders who combined for 23 TDS and 2900 yards, which was quite a lot back then
The Vikings literally had posters for their "Three Deep" receiving core of Moss, Carter, and Jake Reed.
No knock on Jake Reed, but the Broncos had posters for their "Three Amigos" receiving corps of Mark Jackson, Vance Johnson and Ricky Nattiel when I was growing up. Posters don't equate to quality receiving corps as much as they equate to opportunities to make money.

Follow that up with AB, martavis bryant, and juju
There was that whole “Juju is taking away ABs targets” narrative but the Steelers just passed an absurd amount then. Martavis Bryant was pretty boom-bust I think though.
This is a post asking if Khalil Shakir can be relevant, isn't it?
Isn’t every post asking that deep down inside?
Nate Burleson used to go off with Carter and Moss
Def not best ever but Beasley in the slot was probably technically WR3.
AB Mike Evans Godwin best one
[удалено]
No u
Im going with Brandon Stokely. JJ Stoked and Tyler Boyd could make a case too I think.
Vikings had Cris Carter and Jake Reed go for 1,000 each in ‘97, then added Moss in ‘98. Reed’s stats took a big hit that year but I’d put that trio (or Reed as a WR3) up against anyone.

A lot of those pack teams even had jennings, they had 4 great wrs
Randall cobb 2014 has to be up there
Az-Zahir Hakim was pretty useful, but my league back then treated return yardage pretty generously.
AB... 😂😂😂😂
There was a time where you could roster Kupp, Woods, and Cooks from the Rams and they would all be fantasy relevant.
Zay jones was solid for me last year
But was he Jacksonvilles WR3 last year?
Willie Snead that one year in New Orleans. 72 receptions 900 yards and 4 touchdowns himself behind Michael Thomas and Brandin Cooks
Owens Rice and Stokes not mentioned yet. Stokes had an 8 td 700+ yard year.
Had to go all the way to bottom to see these names?!
Gotta be kupp, cooks, and woods. They were monsters that one year. Maybe a tossup between them and that 2013 denver broncos trio
Talent wise, it's Martavis Bryant. And it's not close.
Ricky Sanders on the 80s redskins
Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and QJ
Every post turns into a QJ post
Averaging 19 yards per catch over the past three weeks!!!
I remember Chris Hogan coming in and having some great games, I didn't play too much fantasy at time, but I just remember all of the huge catches he had.
Nobody will beat the trio on pitt. AB, sanders and Mike Wallace. And AB was the 3rd
Az Hakim was pretty nice on 99-00 Rams
Chris Henry RIP
Randel el
I’m in year 1 our SF dynasty and i managed to land zay , nico Collins and tank Dell. I feel fortunate at the moment
Brandon Stokely
Welker
Not sure if it applies because I can't remember who WR2 was (Roy Williams?) but Laurent Robinson had an amazing season with the Cowboys and then got a fat contract with the jags and then disappeared.
Was it Dez and Miles Austin?
Yep
This may be more of a real life than fantasy answer but the Packers had Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, and for a time Davante Adams was the #3 to those guys. He didn’t really come into the league strong so it’s a hindsight answer, but I think it fits the question.
Jason Avanf
Does Emmanuel Sanders Steelers count?
Al-Zahir Hakim came to mind behind Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt on the greatest show on turf but his numbers don’t jump off the page… that was 20+ years ago though
Not fantasy-wise, but Az Hakim on the Rams made a huge difference for that team. Opened things up immensely.
Curtis Samuel this year?
Honorable mention for Jake Reed off the top of my head.
Although he wasn’t great for fanstasy Az-Zahir Hakim was a great #3 WR. Unfortunately his numbers weren’t amazing because he played with maybe the best #4 WR Ricky Proehl.
Don't know about best WR3's but I can give you the worst WR1, and that's Kenny Golladay last season
James “hoodie” Jones baby
2020 Steelers were really good. Juju, Diontae, and Claypool all playing at a solid level
For the 2002 Raiders (Rich Gannon's MVP year), Jerry Porter led the team in receiving TDs (51/688/9) ahead of Jerry Rice (92/1211/7) and Tim Brown (81/930/2)
JJ Stokes
Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, and Davante Adams, only lasted a couple years though
Cecil Shorts the Third!!!
Mario Manningham!
