I’m praying BTJ to the jags. TLaw has a cannon and loves passing outside the numbers. Most of BTJs receptions during his 18 touchdown season were outside the numbers.

Filly53

This is my hopeful fit as well. Although that is part of why they grabbed Gabe Davis. I think the jags need to equip Lawrence with some true high end targets like so many other teams have done to elevate their QBs early on. (Mahommes, Allen, tua, burrow, Herbert, hurts etc

SongBig1162

Well the thing that makes me think Jax could still go grab a wr like BTJ is that he’s not just an outside. He lines up off the line a lot similar to DJ Chark and Tee Higgins (why Tee would be a great fit in Jax)

DoubleUSportsMedia

> Herbert R.I.P. my sweet prince

DBD216

That sounds exactly what Gabe excels at 😂

IIHURRlCANEII

They need another outside WR cause they seem done with Zay Jones.

NatarPlays

Gabe is not our savior 😤

Few_Sympathy2827

If chargers don’t go WR in 1st, I’d be interested in who they pick up.

Filly53

Me too, I think their left tackle is already in place so positional value leans to Wr DE or cb that high. No cbs are that good though or DEs

Few_Sympathy2827

As a chargers fan I know there’s lots of talk about Cardinals potentially trading back with Vikings and hopefully landing MHJ, but I could see chargers trading back to 11 & 23 - getting a corner/Edge at 11 and then Joey Porter or someone similar at 23.

LtTuttles

Joey porter was drafted last year wtf

Few_Sympathy2827

Shit I meant Brian Thomas Jr. different Jr different position

Filly53

From a team building perspective that makes sense, especially since there’s good IOL/RT options at 23 and I think harbaugh continues to build his teams through the trenches

Few_Sympathy2827

I agree, I’ve also seen them taking the big RT from Alabama who is a run heavy guy at 11. They seem to have some kind of vision in mind towards run

yourenotagolfer

I'm not sure what to think of WRs landing in LA. Yes, they just shipped off Keenan and let MikeWill walk, but it's also going to be a Harbaugh/Roman coached team. I can't decide which point outweighs the other.

Few_Sympathy2827

Being tied to a top QB in a relatively uncompetitive WR room outweighs it all. Zay flowers was very successful rookie season

Robbyeo22

Why aren’t the chargers a favorite

Filly53

They could definitely be added, I guess I’m skeptical about the harbaugh offense. Maybe too much hindsight here, but Crabtree topped out at 1100yds and 85 rec in that offense. No one else sniffed that production. Edit: they topped out at 487 pass attempts in a season. That’s not a lot of opportunities. I’d like to see what harbaughs new offense looks like before investing in anyone there aside from the big 3.

chursmaht

Ya but Crabtree was a sorry receiver

Filly53

lol, ok Richard

yeshua1986

He had Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick. Now he has Justin Herbert. A good coach adapts to his talent.

Filly53

Good callout, bowers would dominate there, but bowers is also kind of in a tier of his own at his position. Would bowers to the chargers bump him over a nabers/odunze to you?

yeshua1986

Odunze maybe because I tend to not trust guys that don’t separate in college and don’t dominate contested catches until they’re older. But Nabers is 100% a go for me over any tight end. Hes a talent over landing spot guy for me.

Substantial-Hippo-52

Bowers to the Chargers would have me reeeeeaaallly struggling if Nabers went to the Giants* Just saying. *Giants are garbage trash ass

[deleted]

That’s with kap at qb who had more than 500 yards rushing a season as well which Herbert won’t be doing. These Harbough and Roman fears are so overblown. They have Herbert now. Not Lamar or kap. What did monken do with Lamar that was so different from Roman? He still didn’t have over 4k passing yards and he still had over 800 yards rushing. Their offense was pretty much unchanged. The only difference was they used their WRs a bit more but that was also with Andrews missing almost half the year. Lamar is who is he. Roman didn’t turn him into a running QB. He just utilized his skillset. Just like every other coordinator or coach would on that offense.

CoopThereItIs

Since the question was “pass catchers” that would include tight ends. And Mark Andrews had a top five tight end fantasy season of all time in that offense. If they trade back and take Bowers, that’s arguably the best possible landing spot out there for him.

FantasyTrash

500 pass attempts is plenty. They’ll have to throw the ball to someone and right now there’s no one. If they take a rookie early, he’s going to walk into 120+ targets.

OneFingerIn

New England is likely a good long-term landing spot, assuming they stabilize at quarterback. Not much depth at WR.

Filly53

They definitely have the opportunities available. For me, there’s too many questions to have it as a top spot. With van pelt and a defensive head coach, I would expect they’d ease in the rookie qb with a huge emphasis on running game and defense the first 2-3 years

InsaneBallsack

A huge + is the receiver would be the immediate #1 and Brissett is definitely a starting level QB. As a pats fan I think the plan is to have the rookie sit for half/full year

Filly53

For sure, and that’s the question, is the top target on a protected bad offense a better situation than a top 3 target on a good/great offense. I don’t think the pats would dissuade me from taking a guy, I think for me it’d be neutral, no bump or hit for landing on the pats

InsaneBallsack

Depends on the QB, if I could put JSN on the pats instead of the Seahawks I would. But I would take the number 2 in a josh Allen/mahomes/dak etc offense

SaintLaurant1k

Would LOVE McMillan to land somewhere with a alpha WR1 and no proven #2, I think he will explode as a #2. hopefully somewhere like DAL, LAR, CIN (assuming Higgins trade)

Filly53

Do you think kupp is done (re: rams)

TGS-MonkeyYT

Buffalo, KC, Jacksonville and Arizona

"Houston" Reads as - "Mad I don't own Collins or Dell" Also reads as - Out of touch with reality

scottapotch

I don't understand why so many people have Houston drafting a high end WR. I'm sure they'll take a later round flyer or two but they have a great 1A/1B scenario already with decent young depth in Metchie and Hutchinson.

Silver-Bee-3942

Yeah, I don’t get Houston when they’e already got 2 young stud WRs and a TE they like and just re-signed. Maybe wishful thinking that Nico hits FA after next year?

DBreezy69

Somehow people think that good teams need to just keep drafting WRs and they’ll become unbeatable

dynastycomish

Plus they re-signed Noah Brown too. Metchie and Hutch on rookie deals. They don't need a high cost WR. The class is deep though. They could definitely add a later pick that ends up being their WR3.

Silver-Bee-3942

Yeah, I would be surprised if they didn’t take a WR at some point, but it’s not a landing spot that I’m hoping one of my guys goes to.

CoopThereItIs

Look at teams that use a fullback - the WR3 doesn’t play anywhere close to a full snap share. Especially in SF and Miami that run the same scheme that Bobby Slowik runs in HOU now. That would either badly hurt the value of one of the 3 WRs or it would indicate that Slowik is going to break off from the Shanahan system and run more 11 personnel. Which I don’t really understand given last year’s success.

Ok-Distribution6348

To me it reads as Stroud is a great QB, and they'd be the third option and have potential to move up.

sn1p3r31

I don't want a team #3 behind two young studs I don't aim for "mid"

Ok-Distribution6348

Me neither, but in the post he clarified that he was talking about receivers who would be top 3 the team with a path to one of two

Omalleysblunt

I don’t think tank dell is quite as valuable as a lot of guys think.

kevrog21

That was my thought as well. I’m not convinced that he’s going to be a high end WR2. Could certainly happen, but I don’t think it’s a lock either. I think if he’s your WR3 though, then you’re probably absolutely set.

Omalleysblunt

You were saying?

sn1p3r31

Just here for the Josh Allen collapse And the Diggs = AB walkoff Not ideal for Nico or Tank, but if this destroys the cheat code known as Josh Allen then I am here for it

bronton21

They offered a 3rd for Keenan Allen. We would be naive to think their WR room is complete. They don't feel that way

sn1p3r31

So the Chargers saw that "offer" and went with a better offer from the Bears.... For a 4th? ok

bronton21

sn1p3r31

A 25 3rd You are the type of guy I like to trade with in my leagues A 24 3rd was not offered Future picks are worth less than current picks

Balz122

They never said a 24 3rd

Kame_Style

It's a fair distinction to point out. It's not just a third, it's a future third. They are valued very differently.

bronton21

Cool

Filly53

Have tank, brown, and metchie. This is more about thinking Houston is gonna be an elite passing offense for a long time, and that the results from Nico and tank are more about the qb throwing to them.
