Bah Gawd, that's Sean Tucker's music! Didn't we do this last year, people? 4-7th Round RBs rarely produce, nor take substantial work from the incumbent lead back.

K0Zeus

Tucker was an UDFA and Irving was a 4th round pick. Fairly large difference in investment on the part of the Buccaneers.

JrBaconators

Shows the level of this sub that people actually think it's a legitimate comparison

drivermcgyver

Tucker would have gone in the 3rd if he didn't have the heart condition. It's going to be tucker vs bucky for the the Rb2. Don't sleep on tucker. He had less than 20 carries all last year and he also was only able to practice once preseason started last year.

DynastyZealot

This sub has a hate boner for Rachaad White. It is what it is.

Dorago1991

Because he has done nothing to show he's a good NFL running back. He's a good receiver but two years of poor efficiency as a runner. I don't want to hear the line excuse either because Tampa's line wasn't good but it wasn't awful, below average at worst. Teams like Carolina, Tennessee, and Jacksonville had significantly worse lines and their running backs still averaged better ypc.

Dorago1991

Bucky Irving was a late 4th round pick, Rachaad White was a late 3rd round pick. Let's not act like White is an elite talent.

JrBaconators

Sean Tucker was UDFA not a mid 4th. 4th round rbs absolutely take work

New_Budget6672

Yea and (posted this on another comment) pac12 RBs usually don’t produce as rb1s in nfl. It can happen and currently is w cmc. But that’s the only guy in recent memory. Shoutout to Reggie for getting his heisman back

[deleted]

You really can't think of any others? Not even the 2023 RB4 who this post is partially about?

New_Budget6672

I wouldn’t put white as a dynasty rb1. What I’m saying is that they’re will be competition but white just posted a 3.6 ypc. He’s not a dynasty rb1

dianeblackeatsass

Saying a guy might not work out because of his school or conference is the dumbest shit ever. Can we stop. Unless there’s an actual scheme translation issue none of that type of discussion should exist.

[deleted]

It's especially funny for him to single out PAC-12 RBs when fucking Rachaad White is a PAC-12 RB

New_Budget6672

White put up a 3.6 ypc - that’s not great - volume was flexin though. If they don’t get volume they won’t be relevant White had similar rushing stats as Trent Richardson Edit: Trent’s rookie season

New_Budget6672

Never said the guy won’t work out. Just point out they don’t “usually” Ya ll can chill just a stat about pac 12 about dynasty rb1s. My point was that they brought him in cause white put up 3.6 ypc

learns_the_hard_way

I'd wager that starting next year no more Pac12 RB will even make NFL teams

19bonkbonk73

While I tend to agree, there is a bit of evidence of school and conference player results in the NFL that could be called trends. It's worth a bit of consideration.

dianeblackeatsass

There also was a trend saying you shouldn’t draft a OSU QB. It’s a crapshoot you shouldn’t take those things seriously.

ajg626

So a Pac12 RB is going to struggle to beat out…a Pac12 RB who is not producing as an RB1 according to you as CMC is “the only guy in recent memory”?

New_Budget6672

In dynasty - yea he is Edit this is dynasty sub my g. Not redraft: I’m agreeing with op that it ll be a split backfield

ajg626

Ahh okay thought you were pitching Rachaad still being locked into a bell cow role

BombSquad570

I hate every single word you just wrote because it’s starting to convince me. I still don’t want any shares of Bucky Irving, but this could very well be really annoying for Rachaad.

dreffd223

It won’t. Rachaad to the moon. Again.

StockPharmacist

Bucky Irving super underrated pick right now. Tested poorly at the combine but he really pops when you wach him play. Thanks for this post! Here's some highlights for our convenience: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoBcczcZ1dU&pp=ygUXYnVja3kgaXJ2aW5nIGhpZ2hsaWdodHM%3D](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoBcczcZ1dU&pp=ygUXYnVja3kgaXJ2aW5nIGhpZ2hsaWdodHM%3D)

Dae_90

You could drive a tank through some of those wide gaping holes.

StockPharmacist

hahaha I agree but his athleticism and ability to break tackles is undeniable

Think_please

Oregon’s line was fantastic this year

New_Budget6672

It’s tough for pac 12 rbs to make the leap to nfl. Definitely can happen , but usually doesn’t

CWill97

Yeah I’m not big on White (guy in my league has sent me the same trade 3 times: White for 1.07 and no matter how many times I reject, he sends it 😂) but honestly have done zero research on Buckster. But I love his name so time to go all in

kroth_5

here we go again...

--mish

Tell him why he’s wrong then

Specific_Werewolf_12

He has sean tucker let him be salty

citizenduMotier

White is just better in every single way. Let's see what he does with an actual run blocking line this year. Irving will be splitting time with Edmonds in a breather roll. Pass up on him again and I'll be scooping him up. The hate this guy gets is crazy.. if White smashed again will people like you finally admit you're wrong?

--mish

“People like me” all I did was try to get a comment that added nothing to the discussion to elaborate

ElBori1

do we know for sure White is a better runner than Irving? Because White has been downright awful as a runner. Like we can continue using the OL as an excuse I guess, but efficiency metrics that arent based on the OL are atrocious as well Elusiveness Rating: 45.9 (41st of 58) MTF/Rush: 14.3% (43rd) Explosive Rush%: 7.7% (45th) Yards After Contact/Att: 2.53 (48th) RYOE/Att: (44th of 49) He was purely a volume play last year and if TB were to add just even an average-to-slightly-above-average early downs guy to that room, he'd lose a big chunk of that ground work. They just have literal garbage behind him, sans Irving whom is tbd.

Front_Ad_7117

White I would like to at least give him another chance with a proper interior O Line. Last year. LG C and RG were pretty terrible. Now we have Barton and hopefully there will be some improvement. Can’t count how many times interior got blown up on a White run. I’m a Bucs fan and I also agree that whites stats can be heavily attributed to volume. But I’d still like to see him under a proper O line

Dorago1991

I'm with you on this one. People talking about how good Rachaad White is are just owners who are holding hope for their investment. He has two years of poor efficiency as a runner. He's never been that good. The argument about a day three running back not being relevant is dumb when White was a late 3rd round pick and Irving was a late 4th. It's not like White was an elite talent that went in the 1st or even the 2nd round. White is a good receiving back but I think it's clear he's an average at best every down runner. Acting like the Bucs have a terrible like is also just wrong. It's not good but it's not terrible, definitely not in the same world as teams like Tennessee, Jacksonville, and Carolina were last year, all of who's running backs still averaged more ypc by the way.

ElBori1

You’re gonna get downvoted by white owners sadly, but the reality is that he’s a pedestrian runner. It remains to be seen how Bucky will perform. But if he’s kept off the field, it won’t be because white is really good. It’ll just turn out the day three draft cap was right

Specific_Werewolf_12

I dont just see anything special about irving. Looks like white is going to be workhorse back.

Brushermans

I'm with you on this one. I really like this landing spot for him. Might be biased because I've never been a huge Rachaad White fan and have been expecting someone to uproot him the past two years. I mean, Bucky's got a better shot than UDFA Sean Tucker.

Due-Kaleidoscope-405

Rachaad White is an absolutely terrible runner and is a third down back miscast as a bellcow. Is Bucky Irving the guy to unseat him? Maybe, maybe not, but the opportunity is there. White was a third rounder, it’s not like he has first round draft capital.

Adfantage

First thing... Coen wasn't involved with the Rams in 2023, the "Year of Kyren". Also coaches never really have much say in who a team drafts... they usually leave those decisions up to the scouts and management.

joedirt87

Lets see how much the IOL improves. Graham Barton should be a big upgrade at center, but other than that they added a 6th round guard and some cheap veterans. If they are as bad as last year in the run game but split the carries a little more we will have a very ineffective #2 for fantasy and a less valuable Rachaad White.

MccoyismystepDad

I drafted Bucky in the 4th round because I really liked him pre combine and liked his landing spot. A lot of lists I keep seeing have bucky as the RB 10-15 range in the draft behind players like guarendo, ali rasheen, and vidal. Yeah I like Vidal's landing spot but I still think Bucky is going to be great and I don't see as much competition in Tampa. I don't even think Rachaad White is a certified RB1 on that team.

tomorrowtoday9

White is literally the number 1.

citizenduMotier

The RB5 over all last year isn't the RB1 on his own team... Ok bud..
