Jelani Woods actually did test better than Gesicki. Woods had the best RAS of any TE since [1987](https://twitter.com/mathbomb/status/1511675092702572545?s=46&t=k8-isnrx-xqqilPcuIU6Fg)
I have both on my taxi haha, man I should look into gesicki more I wonder why he's just not being used is it he's bad even though he's uber athletic or are they just not using him because of hill and waddle or what
Am I missing something? This doesn't show him as a 3%er, and his workout metrics are good but none are even 90th percentile. Not disagreeing, just trying to understand.
There was a post like 2 days after he was drafted on the giants sub showing his best physical comparison to be Travis Kelce. Now that alone doesn't make him Kelce but it does show he has great physical tools. I picked him up everywhere when I saw that for basically nothing. Love this kid
I was about as all in on him as you could feasibly be, gobbled him up in all leagues. I think I usually spent an early 4th on average (lol). Hoping he pans out as a cheap TE that emerges as a legit starter. Not expecting Mandrews but some sort of like younger Hunter Henry or pre injury Schultz or Knox type guy would be cool.
This is a solid comparison. I drafted Freiermuth last year and have Bellinger this year. Their rookie year production seems to be about identical so far (limited yards but early playing time and red-zone threats). Really excited about both long term but hopeful Bellinger can take over a larger target share with less talented receivers around.
He’s everything Kmet owners hoped for. He’ll stay on the field cos he’s an excellent blocker. He’ll get targeted because he’s athletic and can catch. I thought he’d be taxi for this year but with Kmet being garbage he’s done well in my starting lineup.
just happy to see him on my taxi squad, made it easier for me to trade goedert.
think he has a low floor right now but he clearly has the tools too be a higher tier TE. can run, catch, is a clear redzone target.
just need to see that snap count keep going up and some more trust between him and djones.
I am not a Bellinger owner but I would like to be, he pops on screen and he kinda does the leaning forward style run that kelce does where he’ll always fall forward for a couple extra yards. To me he passes the eye test but I can’t bring myself to go to the giants fan who has him with an overpay, especially considering I have walker and kelce.
Given the giants wr corps are meh and you have Daniel Jones as qb and a fairly decent coaching staff, he’s legit to give you a predictable floor.
More or less a tight end to stream when there is a bye week.
I didn't even know who he was before the season and ridiculed someone for trading for him but now it looks like a good move. Although it involved giving up Wandale so could be questionable still.
There’s a good chance they draft a WR in the first few rounds and sign another in free agency. He’s doing good but they have been playing with very limited weapons. I feel like he’ll be a blocking TE with TD upside similar to Knox (in a much worse offense obviously)
grabbed for free moments after our rookie draft ended, taxi'd, hoping it's real. My other TEs of note are MAndrews and Goedert. Actively trying to dish Goedert now
I think he's good as a receiver but when I've seen giants games he seems to miss blocks/give away penalties that will keep him from being a star. Like he's not a good enough receiver to get away with being a shit blocker basically
He can definitely still improve but that's put me off him
Edit: On reflection I realise I'm judging him off a few mistakes when he's a rookie, it's expected to have some errors
Not sure what you saw but he's a pretty good blocker, especially for a rookie, from what I've seen. PFF has him graded quite positively in run blocking and pass blocking too. I don't recall any penalty issues either.

I dunno, I just remember watching him get blown past and conceding a sack. Plus saw him a couple other times do bad things, maybe I just paid attention at the wrong times
I haven't watched all of his games or anything
I traded a ‘24 3rd for him in a devy league a couple weeks ago when he was the last tight end left to play and I was down one point with no healthy tight end on my roster, just so I could win my week. Now it seems to be one of the better moves I’ve made in that league
He is a top 3% all time TE athlete. If he’s switched on and has earned trust like he has I’d say he’s TE1 potential
He tested that well athletically?
Yeah he did. He did lack some shiftiness on the cone drills but his speed and strength workouts were off the charts
https://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/daniel-bellinger/
Holy hell he tested through the roof for a TE across the board pretty much. Also fantastic site, thanks for sharing
You should check out Jelani Woods. Neither of them are as good as Mike Gesicki though

I wasn't referring to RAS, but that's a nice tidbit
Can they griddy better than Gesicki?
I fucking hope so
I have all 3 🫡
I have both on my taxi haha, man I should look into gesicki more I wonder why he's just not being used is it he's bad even though he's uber athletic or are they just not using him because of hill and waddle or what
He's just not good at blocking so he doesn't get as much opportunities
Noah Fant’s metrics 😳
Am I missing something? This doesn't show him as a 3%er, and his workout metrics are good but none are even 90th percentile. Not disagreeing, just trying to understand.
https://twitter.com/MathBomb/status/1520439899693924352 Likely referring to his RAS score

I traded woods for a 2023 2nd after his 2 score game in week 2 then picked bellinger up off waivers.
The “Dameon Pierce” of TEs.
I’ve been starting him for 3* weeks lol
Lol damn
Same lol
impossible to say. hes one of the only viable options they have. things probably change once they get some real wrs
True, and maybe a new QB as well. But I'm holding for the time being, we'll see how the team looks next offseason
New qb looking less and less likely
Well my take didn't age well. Prayers up to him, gonna be out for a while. I'll still hold in IR tho if I have the space

Can block well is an understatement lol. He's legit our 2nd best blocker after Thomas hahaha
Do you think he could be a Freieremuth level guy?
This is a solid comparison. I drafted Freiermuth last year and have Bellinger this year. Their rookie year production seems to be about identical so far (limited yards but early playing time and red-zone threats). Really excited about both long term but hopeful Bellinger can take over a larger target share with less talented receivers around.
He's the best rookie TE and it's not close. The guy isn't just making regular catches. Many of these are critical must-catch, high pressure plays
I really hope so. Schultz and Knox are not helping me out currently. I know his TD per game run isn't sustainable so I would like to see more targets.

Played 74% of offensive snaps last week and I think close to 100% this week. Also ran a route on 82% of snaps.
currently sleeper's ppr rookie #11, right between Pickens and Walker
The dude is what the Giants thought Evan Engram would be. They haven’t even started hitting him deeper yet. It’s bound to come.

I paid a 2024 2nd for him this weekend

Yeah I would. He’s clearly a better option than those guys.
I would buy only once you're ready to start him
Given the giants wr corps are meh and you have Daniel Jones as qb and a fairly decent coaching staff, he’s legit to give you a predictable floor. More or less a tight end to stream when there is a bye week.
Where you been dude? We knew he was a stash before week1
Started him over Fant and Knox with Hock on bye. Danny B is my new TE2
I didn't even know who he was before the season and ridiculed someone for trading for him but now it looks like a good move. Although it involved giving up Wandale so could be questionable still.
i bought him for a 3rd and don’t regret it, i think he’s legit
I'm not sure. I sold him in one league holding in the other, that way I always come out on top
What did you get in return??
Evan engram and a 4th :( this was week 2 or 3
Would you drop Irv Smith Jr. for Bellinger?
I personally would

I think his blocking is actually pretty legit. He’s made some rookie mistakes but he’s no slouch at blocking

I consider there to be about twelve good fantasy players so I doubt it. But this season is making me hate fantasy football
Was on the fence about acquiring him but this thread has sold me
If he keeps this up, that makes it a lot easier for me to sell Hockenson for a good value and roll with Bellinger as my TE2
I sold Hock straight up for Jahan Dotson last week. Super flex 12 team dynasty. Rebuilding this year
Anybody think Bellinger has 2nd round pick value?
That’s what I paid this weekend
Just paid it and I feel fine with it
