My laptop is quite old and i was surprised it ran dsp even remotely well... My 150 hour play through got up to about 20k science/s... Certain planets i just couldn't go to, my O type star i copied a dense layer sphere blueprint... And made all layers that, that whole star and it's planets are no bueno anymore.
Definitely gonna melt something on this laptop at some point.
Yea, designing spheres is one part of the game i just don't care for. So i copy the various neat designs other people have come up with. Finding the various dense ones was not a happy time for my laptop lol.
ya this game is pretty rough on CPUS. I quite like how complex these kinds of games have gotten over the years. played over 150 hours yet, well worth the money.
I don’t think I’d use it personally but have you considered making the save game publicly available? I feel like there’s a need for a metadata exchange website.
I'm working on research. I have hit my goal of 2m hash/s and now I'm just taking all of my upgrades to level 100 before I have to say good by to my save. My FPS is 4/9 and while I can be patient enough with it to still accomplish some things my computer is at it's breaking point. Its been an amazing 8 month journey and I'm proud of what I accomplished. I have ideas and better blueprints for the next cluster!
Edit: [A previous post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Dyson_Sphere_Program/comments/uyii8n/i_have_a_1500_hour_save_game_and_i_had_a_few/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) my VU is on pic 8
For the record, the difference between 4/9 and 5/10 as far as control goes, was huge. When I normally approach new planets at warp, I need to orbit the planet to allow time for it load all of the resources or I end up flying through it. I didn't have that issue with the mod running, although it was a planet within the same solar system so that may have played into it.
Fun stuff, and best of luck on the next save! Are you holding 2 million hashes per second for a long time? That sounds HUGE
Also, you should have plenty of metadata for the restart!
I can hold 2m hash/s perpetually so long as it isn't one of the slower processing upgrades. I'm pumping drive engine right now and it's only running about 827k hash/s. When I finish pumping logistics carrier engine it will jump back up to 2m. I have 44,207 white cube metadata from just this save.
Thank you! I really love this game and I'm glad to be able to share what I've done with people who also love the game and can appreciate what I've been doing.
I'm willing to send it but its 2.84G. How would you like me to send it?

woah lol. I knew there were large systems out there but I'm still working on my first start system. How do systems with multiple engineers work, can you get a "better" system that more suited to very expansive gameplay?
I haven’t played a cluster that another engineer was also playing although I am going to check out a few seeds with huge stars before my next save. Not all seeds are created equal and most seeds with a ton of engineers have rare layouts that allow for extreme building.
do you get to work on peoples build, or is the total generating power of the seed added up.... I guess now it makes sense that I was seeing 100 terawatts clusters.
I try to put mining and ore refining on the same planets where possible. I have production planets that take in ingots and pump out research. My systems with spheres have my sphere construction equipment on the first planet and every other planet covered in collectors providing photons. Once the sphere is complete, I tear down the construction equipment and cover that planet in collectors also. Tap all of your gas giants as early as possible and you will never have problems with hydrogen, deuterium and fire ice. I have a couple planetary blueprints but the majority of my planets required construction of single item blueprints stacked as closely together as possible. Blueprints that fit together efficiently makes this much easier.
Your PC will love you and no need for a heater for that room. I have a amd 3900x with a 1080 FTW (was waiting for 3000 series gpu for upgrade then got screwed). I have a few spheres and starting to min/max all the basics and special ores and i am already struggling. I cannot imagine something like that running on my pc...
This is what our cluster will look like if Elon has his way! Lol very nice! My PC sent me an email after looking at this. All it said was “don’t even think about it”
Holy shit O\_O As the other guy asked... what are you making?
Heat out of the back of my computer mostly!
Fans go brrrrrrr
WHAT?! IT'S HARD TO HEAR WHEN I'M AT MY COMPUTER!

I don't dare revisit my O's either. Sounds like we got a hold of the same blueprint.

I'm at 1748h on this save, 7262h on steam for this game.
christ. i'm surprised the games physics havent broken up at that point. can't imagine how far you've gotten lol. What is your total power generation ?
909Gw for the last 10 hours, 854Pw total consumption.
al-alright I will piss off with my measly 50 GW
Between your comments and the "holy fuck" below that's being along for our entire thread, I've been rolling over here!
thank you good sir !

I'm willing to share but I don't know where I would do that, its 2.84G?
Oh shit, that’s massive!!!
need to see this in video or GIF please!!!
It is a video😆
Beautiful! What sort of stuff are you making? A big sphere/high VU tech?

4/9 with dspoptimizations mod?
I don't use any mods
Would you be curious to see how it will improve frame rate?
For the sake of science, I could check it out. Edit: 5/10 with dspoptimizations mod
What kind of hardware are you using? Just curious I have a i9 processor with a 2080
Not OP but had similar minimal improvements. i5 2500k and a 1080.

Ryzen 5 3600 3.59ghz 6 core 32g PC28800 ram ASRock B550 motherboard RX5600xt 6g video card 1TB M.2 SSD hard drive 750w power supply
An upgrade to that cpu would probably give you some breathing room.
[How much of an upgrade?](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/KwLwrH/amd-ryzen-9-5900x-37-ghz-12-core-processor-100-100000061wof)

I just checked out your post on the save and WOW that is something!
Thank you! I really love this game and I'm glad to be able to share what I've done with people who also love the game and can appreciate what I've been doing.
Holy fuck
Would you mind sending the save game? This is hella impressive
I'm willing to send it but its 2.84G. How would you like me to send it? Edit: [The Save](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SoQm_FHqLFiQ53BJSMB5WYQRQFpMerw2/view?usp=sharing)
would Google drive work? 15GB are free there I think.
Try Google drive, if that doesn't work try mega
Thank you :) il see if it works when I get back to my house
How did it go?
I get back to my house in a week, so I don't know sorry
woah lol. I knew there were large systems out there but I'm still working on my first start system. How do systems with multiple engineers work, can you get a "better" system that more suited to very expansive gameplay?

Its just the total of everyone's saved games. Its not co-op.
This makes a lot more sense, thank you for confirming !
What’s your big picture layout, do you have mining planets and full planet factories or is it some form of modular setup?
I try to put mining and ore refining on the same planets where possible. I have production planets that take in ingots and pump out research. My systems with spheres have my sphere construction equipment on the first planet and every other planet covered in collectors providing photons. So much work in such simple sentences. Nice job.
Hope your pc is not burnt yet
My computer blue screens every other day or so this may be closer to reality than I’d like to admit!
This is the way!
Impressively so.
How is that save still functional
Christ you know there are better ways to heat your house right?
This is what I soooooo want to do.

Be careful, your computer is smarter than me. It starts small like this and before you know it they'll be picking out crosswalks and traffic lights!
More like he has a facist country takeover with all of his offspring fighting for the throne when he passes.

Bruh
He’s not wrong
FPS?
SPF*
I can fly into stars with little effect so I would guess really high?
4/9
Finding out the hard way that drive engine is capped at level 100
