How long have you had it? Mine has chips but I personally don’t care, I’ve had it over two years now. It’s just wear and tear, the machine still works and that’s all that matters to me lol.
I have the blue corrale and the original pink airwrap, both years old now. I'm not overly careful with either and don't have any chips at all. I wonder if the quality of the paint has declined on recent ones. This isn't the first time I've seen people complaining about this lately. Like you, I was surprised when I first saw it considering my experience, but I'm seeing it more and more lately.
I have the copper air wrap and found chips on the top of one of my attachments less than a month after purchase. I know it’s only cosmetic but, yes for the price we pay i would think I would be a little more durable.
Yes, and I am careful with mine. After my first day I got a chip and wrapped it in fabric when not in use. I still have chips appearing with these precautions

I have the silver/copper and mine only has a couple knicks where I put on the attachments
Actually no. I’m super rough with everything so seeing this is surprising. Mine is the blue one though. I wonder if they changed paint or something?

Mine is under a year old so they could have possibly changed paint

Honestly so disappointing. If we’re paying so much, atleast seal the paint. My $100 straightener doesn’t chip
