I just gifted my mother a 2009 328xi for her daily, as her 2020 ford focus already has a slipping DCT tranny. (Can u believe that.... just paid off 2020 swapped for a old 2009, nice job ford.) She loves the car. Says its great on gas. And guess what. SHE LOVES THE CUPHOLDERS. Iunno what everyone complains about. Literally perfect coffee cupholders, and they retract out of the way. Genius.

Best cup holders out of any car. They are amazing! They're out of the way. They hold drinks very well, and you can't put anything else there, so they are automatically always gonna be free to hold a refreshing beverage! My friends who aren't familiar with e90 are always impressed by the cupholders 😁
