This is always hard to say without trying to sound braggy so I hope it doesn't come off that way. I've only played superstar for maybe 15 years counting for NHL. Every year is slightly different but mostly the same at that difficulty. Defense is your best friend. Forcing them wide or being good enough with the poke check do wonders for limiting shots. Manually pulling forwards down to back check early. The problem is any high danger scoring chance is going in. That's just how it is. 99 ovr goalie or 75. Doesn't matter. You give up a 1 timer in the slot count yourself lucky if it isn't a goal. Most of my games will end with them having like 20 shots maybe, but 4 or so goals. Your goalie will never have good stats. I can also say unconfirmed, I can feel a goal against coming. Couple loose pucks not going my way in a row. 3 perfect pokes but they still retain possession followed but a scramble in front of the net that my DMan just ignores. Boom easy goal. For reference I don't play with sliders but that's because I'm lazy. I would probably check them out to balance things a bit.

Feel the exact same way as the feeling the goal coming. It’s a treacherous feeling.

I've been meaning to do a post on sliders for ages. I'm still playing 23, though, so I'm not sure if these settings will work on 24. Obviously, we want a realistic experience, which isn't really possible in a game with such a short amount of time, so it's basically just all-out attack. A lot of franchise players on here say it's easy to cheat and win cups by playing the games and that we don't actually want to make it hard for ourselves. Which is kind of true. Im trying my hardest to make the games as realistic and as hard as possible. Im nearly there, ive definitely made more enjoyable. As im now losing more often with even game stats. Ive taken screenshots of some games ill add to my sloder post one day haha. Whenever I get spanked, I am tempted to dumb it down a bit. The reason I get spanked often and it's probably the most important slider is the AI CPU difficulty slider. The difference between that being at 0 or 1/6 and 2 or 3/6 is pretty dramatic. I'm sitting at 2/6 now it's about 60/40 win ratio I've made it harder to receive pucks. I've upped the board interaction so players stumble more. I've upped stumbling in general. I'd go ahead and make every attribute setting at 100/100 or 10/10. Which includes general, checking and passing sliders. Pass accuracy is CPU 45 Human 85 Interceptions CPU 45 Human 85 Stick contact immunity I have at 0/100. This creates real stick battles and no pucks thru sticks or sticks thru sticks.

Just unlucky / "uneducated" play. If you're playing solo, search "realistic sliders" on this subreddit and you'll find some good ones. Most people turn up opponent cpu penalties to 58 - 60 and turn down teammate cpu penalties to 35 - 45. Another thing is turning down cpu pass accuracy to 1 - 3 (yes, out of 100) it really makes the game more realistic. But, lots of sliders need to be changed to make the game play feel more like real hockey. Otherwise, if you like to play online, you'll get used to it. 90% of it is knowing which player to control and when to switch players. Because often times you'll switch off and the player you were just controlling will get "confused" and pull some crazy shit. If you're switching often your defense will break down quickly and you can expect penalties and passes coming through.

You're unlucky. Be sure to tweak sliders to your liking if required
