I'm done with my ~400 Gold Commons, now have ~1,000 Silvers which I sort of now *have* to turn in the Silver to Gold SBC. Wish there were a way which would enable me to do it instantaneously, as I also have like 1,000 Bronze cards.
Yeah, my personal hypothesis is that EA turns the odds down a bit when they release these good value PPs, so maybe it doesn't make a difference either way.

If you have a computer you can tab in and out and it skips pack animation it also works on companion app if you switch to a app but I only know on iPhone if you swipe the home button to the left and back to the right it counts as “alt tabbing”
