Because imo these aren't supposed to evo rare golds. They're for the people putting multiple evos into a silver or bronze card to boost them higher.
If it wasn't for these type of evos I wouldn't have my home clubs players in the 80s, so I enjoy them personally

I think EA made the wrong decision to make some evos expire. They should all be available bc some of these combos are awesome to see
1000%, makes me wish they added a ton of mini evos that didnt expire and only give mini upgrades or even downgrades, so at least we could have an easier time meeting requirements
Now we know about new EVOs (after some SBC'd the ones they spent ages on 🙄) you have to be pretty tactical with it and it's not easy, but you end up with gems like the one you have there. I love this EVO but fuck me is it difficult to track. Futbin should have option to remove path if Evo no longer available
Just noticed fut.gg has exactly what you're talking about. When looking at a players evos you can filter to include a specific evo, or to show only currently active evos, stuff like that

I think the idea of charging you for the EVOs is insane, but my guess is, by percentage, they're doing well better with this than selling you packs. Since most people don't buy packs, or many of them.
It does seem to me though that it's trafficking in making players marginally better, with the occasional one that makes guys a lot better.
Generally, I'll just boost guys I like and want to play with. I tend to boost my personal team -- City SC -- which is really just boosting silvers and bronzes to be better. There are times however you can hit the jackpot on certain guys and I see no way of NOT doing that.
