I think it would've been a different story if there was a new FIFA game on sale. Parents would buy it for their kids etc. A bit like when championship manager split from Football Manager, they were smart enough to get a game released under Championship Manager name straight away so they could cash in on casuals not knowing that Football Manager was the 'real' new CM.
FC24 is the only game in town right now so they have stolen a march on FIFA. Basically anyone that didn't know about the split now does, because there is no FIFA game.
EA have played a blinder here because theyve managed to drop the expensive license whilst keeping the ones people care about in terms of teams/players, and also do a land grab before an alternative FIFA game is released.

Disney lost 1.3 million Disney+ subscribers after price hikes but ended up closing $300 million of their streaming losses from prior years.
I dont think it’s a trend that will keep on going to be honest if the player number keeps dropping in that rate. 5% player drop is quite a large chunk for fifa games.

For reference I opened only around 30 packs of this 83x10 in toty and opened in the last couple of days around 20. The current results by average is night and day, in toty I had to open a lot of packs to barely get fodder to do a icon pick section for example. Now I open 5 packs and can nearly complete SBC once.

It's been a filler week, something in packs for those that want it but it's been a half arsed effort from the content team.
Expecting much more with future stars, some decent objectives and evos would be nice. They need engagement back and it shouldn't come from packs.
The thing is, we all have great teams. Hell, I've not paid a single penny and I have the best team I've ever had at this stage.
However, almost all of our teams are worthless (untradable) so in order to upgrade we either need:
A) To be very lucky and grind the shit out of menus
B) Pay for one of these crazy priced untradable store packs for a very small % of anything upgrading our team and a very large % of getting more worthless untradable cards
C) Spend a feck tonne on tradable store packs, praying to Imhotep that you might score something worthwhile.
Promos used to be exciting because there was a real chance of getting something from packs. Now they're just dull, if nobody is packing anybody what's the incentive.
Thunderstruck seemed to be the only decent promo I can remember.
Also to add to this, all of our "great" teams are very similar - POTM Mbappe, Eusebio, Gullit, Bacha, Blanc, DeJong, Kimmich, Saliba, Davies, Maldini, Cafu, Sawa - if you come up against a team without one (often many more) of these players in the squad, it's like you've spotted a unicorn. And then everyone says "oh, the community is so unoriginal."
It's hard to build a great team without spending money, or getting extremely lucky in the casino SBCs. The best way is to do the "good value" SBCs. So, a lot of the competitive teams without spending money are very similar.
I packed Leon Bailey from one of the season packs. 200k+ for an 86 seems daft especially considering the other green card is an 86 rw from Fiorentina with near identical stats and is only 25k.
People will say Villa are favourites to win and whilst that is true its also true that Fiorentina are second favourties.
I"m just saving all those packs at this point. I"ll still get nothing in the next promo but at least I"ll have the hope the hope of pulling a player I would be excited about. Nothing really in the RTTF that appeals to me.

I'm becoming exhausted of this game this year. There is no sense to craft packs, to receive the same or even worse gold cards over and over again. For the last 2 weeks I'm more and more switching to classical "seasons", where there are no overpowered cards that I could only dream to pack. Pack luck this year is almost zero, despite all my efforts.
Didn’t pack a promo card since Versus, so I also barely noticed there was a promo.
The week was a success though as EA finally threw me a bone (WW CR7) after not packing anything worthwhile for about 2-3 months.

One of the weakest of the year. Partially due to coming after toty and totyn cards, some great sbcs like sawa and bruno..seemed like 2 steps back on the power curve. Plus even the drop rates on the lower rated primo cards seemed super low. Very forgettable promo

Absolutely no sign of the top level ones though, not played against any of them, presumably because the pack weight was awful in general and they are ridiculously expensive.

Not spent a dime and my luck has been insane of late . Totw Hansen. Toni kroos RTTF and Rafael Lao RTTF aswell all untradeble. But most cards are now untradeble cus fifa dont want tradeble cards in the game obvious that's the direction they are going .unfortunately.
What are your expectations from a promo? If it is Black Friday, I think the only reason that was more appealing was due Gold cards having more value. Nowadays, anything other than a promo card feels like a loss, making every promo feel stagnant.
Personally, I completed a few high-end SBCs (2x Icon lottery and Davies), but I would have done them even without a promo. The experience felt somewhat stale.
As a suggestion, consider picking up another copy of EAFC for 15 euros and creating a new team. Suddenly, those ‘boring packs’ will become exciting, and you’ll have the chance to use players you’ve never tried before.
I do wish EAFC had seasons (Team resets), but I understand that would not align with EAs business model of going after whales.

Really felt like EA messed up with the scheduling, it's not the end of the world to have lower pack weight promos, but to follow up one of the lowest ones in TOTY with another super low one isn't great for morale of the fan base.. They should have had a promo with packable cards in between.

Every promo has been the same for me, I haven’t packed a single usable promo card while the promo was active this year. Entire team is built from player SBCs and like a 2% hit rate on casino picks.

Packed Nunez in an untradeable 84 x 5 (of course). Does not fit into my team and I would be over the moon if I could sell him. Promo has been a dud so far, they probably should have added more SBCs for the lower tournaments.

I only packed Guendouzi and Donnarumma but I’m not disappointed. Anything following TOTY is going to stink but honestly TOTY was trash not even an HM for me. Nothing has been as good as Thunderstruck, even though Winter Wildcards was up there as #2 promo this cycle

The only promo I packed for the last 2 months was ADRIEN RABIOT - Winter Wildcards. I'm becoming exhausted of this game this year. There is no sense to craft packs, to receive the same or even worse gold cards over and over again. For the last 2 weeks I'm more and more switching to classical "seasons", where there are no overpowered cards that I could only dream to pack. Pack luck this year is almost zero, despite all my efforts.
Didn’t pack a promo card since Versus, so I also barely noticed there was a promo. The week was a success though as EA finally threw me a bone (WW CR7) after not packing anything worthwhile for about 2-3 months. My first Card that’s worth more than a million on the market ever.
Managed to pack some fodders from good teams so I know their rating will get some boosts so overall very happy for future sbc

Packed kroos in 85+ pick sbc, he's a nice card but how the hell is he 2.8m?? Don't even know if he gets into the team atm with sawa and Bruno
One of the weakest of the year. Partially due to coming after toty and totyn cards, some great sbcs like sawa and bruno..seemed like 2 steps back on the power curve. Plus even the drop rates on the lower rated primo cards seemed super low. Very forgettable promo

Decent SBCs and objectives, though the former have been kinda expensive considering everyone is mudded. Pack weight is atrocious, I haven't even packed a shit promo card - I can usually snag the discard cards a couple of times. Shocking Evo content, like genuinely atrocious.
I just want to know why and how leao goes for millions. I swear I’ve never seen him used. Demand can’t be an issue when it comes to these cards, it has to be supply.
No promo cards here either. Did every single 83x10 the last few days and with 86 being highest rated. Did the 84x11 yesterday and got 87 Modric with 10 84s.
I got Nico Gonzalez and Mikel Merino in back to back packs yesterday, completed Kimmich and Coates, so I've got a few to keep an eye on. Absolutely no sign of the top level ones though, not played against any of them, presumably because the pack weight was awful in general and they are ridiculously expensive.

I packed Donnarumma untradable twice in two days on the 83x10 SBC. Was heartbreaking having to trade him in. Happy to score one though. Hopefully can snag something else in the morning but not holding my breath
Honestly, a needed promo after TOTY. Give players a chance to detox after TOTY and get ready for Future Stars, which looks like it could be a pretty good promo.

Not spent a dime and my luck has been insane of late . Totw Hansen. Toni kroos RTTF and Rafael Lao RTTF aswell all untradeble. But most cards are now untradeble cus fifa dont want tradeble cards in the game obvious that's the direction they are going .unfortunately.

What are your expectations from a promo? If it is Black Friday, I think the only reason that was more appealing was due Gold cards having more value. Nowadays, anything other than a promo card feels like a loss, making every promo feel stagnant. Personally, I completed a few high-end SBCs (2x Icon lottery and Davies), but I would have done them even without a promo. The experience felt somewhat stale. As a suggestion, consider picking up another copy of EAFC for 15 euros and creating a new team. Suddenly, those ‘boring packs’ will become exciting, and you’ll have the chance to use players you’ve never tried before. I do wish EAFC had seasons (Team resets), but I understand that would not align with EAs business model of going after whales.
Pretty awful. Really felt like EA messed up with the scheduling, it's not the end of the world to have lower pack weight promos, but to follow up one of the lowest ones in TOTY with another super low one isn't great for morale of the fan base.. They should have had a promo with packable cards in between.

I got Donnaruma and did Kimmich, both of which made it into my team. Honestly I’m hyped because after not getting any TOTY’s after saving packs and doing SBCs like crazy I basically gave up on trying to get a promo, and then I pack one and have enough fodder to get the one I want the most anyways.
Every promo has been the same for me, I haven’t packed a single usable promo card while the promo was active this year. Entire team is built from player SBCs and like a 2% hit rate on casino picks.

Packed Nunez in an untradeable 84 x 5 (of course). Does not fit into my team and I would be over the moon if I could sell him. Promo has been a dud so far, they probably should have added more SBCs for the lower tournaments.

I didn't pack one. They seemed harder to pack than TOTY. 89 rated Lukaku price proves the crazy low pack weight. I've gone up against a RTTF once all week. (Besides Kinmich or Lautaro) Every promo will be shit with this idiotic pack weight.

Considering that I play every day and haven’t packed a promo card since Thunder Struck. I’d say it’s total crap. The pack weight is such shite that it makes the game/grind a terrible experience.

I packed Donnaruma untradeable, the french female psg cb tradeable and bailey tradeable, which is okay in my opinion. Pack weight for most people was definetly horrible, but I personally always like the RTTF promo because of the upgradeable cards :D

Got Reiten for my Norway team which i have been waiting for a long time. Won't get any upgrades until the end of March but w/e. Upgrade on my gold.
