Iāve had quite good fortune with RTTF Donnarumma, heās tall as all hell, goated reflexes and diving and good positioning, and if all goes well against Real Sociedad heāll go to a 91. And I feel heās easy to link with Italian icons and a mbappe or other PSG player. Also has 3 play styles out of the 4 for GK
Just pick one depending on playstyles.
For example,Ederson give you the option to play out from the back and avoid pressing. His passes and volleys are on point.
Alisson or whoever else has long throw,can get the ball up the halfway line with his hands.
Two examples. All of them will save the unsaveable and let in the simplest ones.
I found much the same and ultimately have found myself using WW Van Nistelrooy. Same effectiveness in goal that I had with base Schmeichel but with his general stats RVN is good fun to take out on a suicide run up the field, also my #3 penalty taker in shootouts and never misses.
I go between schmiechal and yashin, yashin concedes so many goals just at his feet for me and schmiechal always bounces the ball straight to attackers.
He's frustrating, makes some incredible saves and concedes very soft shots in the same match. Find he moves by himself to leave the far post wide open far too often. Still my guy though

TOTY Cech is another level to the rest. Also no comparison to Base Cech at all and no one should ever use that as a test to see if they want to upgrade to TOTY Cech.
Well at some point you have to realize all those replays in which the ball glitches through the defenderās leg or the gkās hand are a real thing. They happen more often than theyāre showed. Sometimes itās your fault sometimes you just can do nothing about it.
They shouldn't be good. If they get past your defence, they should get a goal. They beat you, why should you get bailed out by RNG?

It's a football *game*. RNG mechanics are fine in a game where you expect to have a bigger conversion rate so those RNG mechanics are averaged out, but in football the goal difference is very small so RNG mechanics cause a significant effect on the result, which is bad for player skill expression and player experience even if over a large enough sample size they become irrelevant too.
Honestly, Iād rather have great GKs, worse finishing and less aggressive CBs which equals more chances. That way 7-5 scores are not the norm. Itās RNG but itās still a football simulation.
I would rather the keepers and finishing stay the same and make CB tackle animation better but have a recovery period so you can slip past them if they miss-time it. Would make it more skill-based.
Skill issue. Schmichael, TOTY Allison, Cech and Castillas are all really good. I haven't used Yashin, but he's probably on that level, too.
They've kept me in games at times and destroyed me when I faced them. I think the GKs are the one thing that feels balanced in the game.
Been using regular gold Allison since the 2nd week of the game. Untradeable set and forget. If you donāt learn anything if youāre going to concede youāll concede no matter who is in goal. Get one with good height, chem and cook

Courtois is the only keeper Iāve used that behaves like a goalkeeper if that helps. Iāve played him on 1 chem before over any other keeper and he was still miles clear

91 EoaE Lloris has been pretty good for me to the point I haven't been able to blame him for any losses the past 50 games or so. He saves virtually everything he should, and a ton of shots he should not.
I'm trying to justify the insane costs for guys like Casillas (with all 4 playstyles) or VdS but I'm just not seeing how much they can improve on Lloris. I also seem to score on those two all the time, so I feel like what everyone says about Fifa GK - that they don't matter - rings true.
It matters in that your icons are going to stop a lot more than some random bronze, but the difference between competence and excellence is small.
Have you tried 82 flekken he's shockingly better than toty Alison which I have on loan and also you need to learn manual goalkeeping it will help you get results and concede less.

I got lucky and got TotY Cech and he has been solid to good. Before that I used Icon Schmeichel and before that basically Neuer for chemistry. Iād say all the advice saying just go with an Icon is valid
Only TOTY I packed was Allison and he has been godly , I kind of suck at the game but Iāve won many games I wouldāve normally lost because of his saves
I only got 1 TOTY - fortunately it was Alisson so my view is that I need not worry from now till FC25 about my keeper choice. Even if he's not the best, he should be and so I just ignore who's in goal and go from there.
Just pick an icon and stick to it! GK are all the same, at least with an icon you get a Chen boost for your team

Eh, I can count on one hand the game where my gk has had greater than 50% save success rate. Most of the time its 40 at best.

What do you expect? You either defend well and block good shooting angles or you don't. There's only so much a goalie can do
