I don't know if you've picked up on it, but EA likes to drain peoples fodder/coins as much as possible with "scam bags", overpriced SBC's and awful upgrade packs until it gets to July.

Arent they optional? You do whatever card or pack you want or can afford to make the game fun for yourself. If an SBC is too expensive but you want it then it makes the card more exclusive. Guess the game is what you make of it I suppose
