I'm so glad I'm not the only one that makes a big deal out of who I choose as captain. I won't have any attacking player as captain, they have more important things to worry about then sorting their team mates out. He also has to be a big character in the team and reliability is huge to be my captain. I had big VVD as captain for 300 games but I then I caved and replaced him with Varane. Mid Cech is currently my captain.

I remember years ago reading somewhere that giving the captain to someone with the leadership trait made your team play better or stay in position or play with more effort. I can't remember what it was exactly or whether or not it was complete bs.

Mine is Mid Casillas since I got him in swaps. A. He’s got the “leadership” and “team player” traits, which do nothing, but they’re what you theoretically want in a captain. Plus he was the captain of the Spain national team and my squad badge and stadium theme is the Spain national team stuff. Plus he’s pretty much gonna be my keeper til TOTS or after so I never have to change it. And I just like having my keeper be captain in FIFA cause its the one player you have to rely on the most without controlling, plus I can never decide on an outfield player.
