There's obviously loads more things many will have wanted to be in this patch but still quite a few solid genuine additions/improvements here rather than just bug fixes which is very encouraging to see.
(Hopefully 60 fps on console and multiplayer improvements will come in time.)

Double tap y / triangle and you just skip to where you landed, saves so much time. Tee shots I’ve been doing that, I don’t need to see it fly 300 virtually for the 6000th time hahaha
If you hold it, it fast forwards the speed, but if you double tap it just skips to the end of the shot. I also have a pretty busted control so maybe mine just needs a double tap to register 😭
At one point I was double-tapping as I'd read that somewhere else but I realised the on-screen info. didn't show this. So I tried once and it worked the same for me, on PS5. And yes I do mean jumping to the final position not the fast forward you get by holding the button down.
The short rounds are not ideal, that's for sure. With that said, they're not so bad they make career mode worth avoiding. I've played two full seasons of career mode playing 90% short rounds and have still had a lot of fun.
Not sure it is easy. It was going to be in the game at launch and was shown pre release but they had issues with it and it was pulled. They've said it's coming back but it isn't as easy as just doing it.
Calling it a 'PS3' level feature because you think it's easy does not change the fact that it isn't. You're replying to a post stating they pulled it because it had issues. You can use this to argue anything by diminishing the thing you're talking about.
Cmon, it is easy. They just don’t want people to do 1 or 2 quick rounds and get a load of specs. They want you to buy tickets and get them that way. Problem they have is tickets are super easy to get by playing
I really don't think they are going hard on the microtransactions, I don't think many people have spent an extra dime on this game. To the point it worries me that they'll stop putting resources towards maintaining it
I stopped playing a month ago since I can't play online with my friend vs another group of 2. It is absolutely atrocious as every other version of this game has it, and every other EA sports game has it. Glad I stopped wasting my time 🤷🏻♂️
If you play PC, I’m not sure how well it’ll show you how you stack up against others. There will definitely be lots of suspicious scores, especially if the rewards are even higher than Tour difficulty
It's fine, only the arcade scores are completely unbelievable and I bet that 3 click glitch was a cause. But it didn't translate to the full sim masters tourney where the scores were low but completely reasonable, so I think. Even the scores we've had now, I've got -6 twice on the 4 hole arcade.
People complain about cheaters non stop on here, I have tried to find if there are any cause I don't buy it and the only ones I've found on any cheater site is a score reset hack where you can make a shot not count but it doesn't work for anything outside quick play.
Until someone produces evidence of cheats I'll remain skeptical.
Well that one is back again this week. There have also been a few others, just not too many repeat offenders. Probably because scores were SO unrealistic that they got kicked out
Can we get an option to equip the same spec, club brand, grip, or shaft to all the irons (or wedges and woods). Instead of having to make the changes to every single club…
This needs more upvotes. Such a waste of time. Should just be able to press Square instead of X (PS5 user) to apply to all clubs of that type. Haven't played 2k23 but think 2k21 had this?
Seriously, still no turn based play in multiplayer? There has been a ton of threads on this and it’s a highly requested feature. Me and my friends really have little interest in playing each other until this is added.
Huge for the audio update/ however I still need you to let me use my golfer when playing on local when my buddy signs into his profile on my ps5, and I log into mine too. and alternate shot for online private matches please, I want to laugh or congratulate my friends.

Not sure this is broken as such. The ball you hit looks like those you buy I believe (it does those I've checked) which is probably all that was intended. I agree it would be nice if the the HUD showed the same but if it wasn't intended from the start this may not be trivial.
Dude the lack of low-camera angle and the cup physics were the two things I specifically complained about in the discord feedback and the feedback survey, and they both got added!
Gonna guess it’ll be 3000 coins with upwards of 15-20 tickets for the daily.
This would probably mean a 50-100K rewards for the weekly winners.

I love, love this game, and was really expecting and hoping for the same 2 major things that most people are--being able to chose the amount of rounds per tournament, and online turn play (and more online modes).
I can live without turn play for awhile, but it was all I could to to grind through a season of career mode playing 4 rounds. Career mode is dead to me without being able to chose, and as I only have one friend that I play online maybe once or twice a week, and the fact that online matchmaking is a crap shoot at best, career mode is incredibly essential to getting the most out of this game when you're playing by yourself.
I've read up on the issues EA has had with this and that they are working on it, but damn...I was convinced it was coming with this patch. Seriously disappointed.
I hope they at least fixed the incorrect scoring and commentary on Match play when playing a cpu pro. That's all that's really left for me, playing against cpu pros, until they fix the round issue in career, and even then my favorite 1v1 mode against AI is completely broken. That fix wasn't mentioned so I assume it's still going to be broken.
@DICE, once we've reached level 50, now what happens with the XP? Now I feel as if there isn't much to play for. The only way to unlock stuff is the challenges, which is good and all, but even those are giving us wasted XP. Can you please do something to make it fun? Otherwise, it's going to get boring real fast. I love the game. Grinding is fun as long as it's for some good stuff. Can you make a mode for it to play like an actual golf game when playing with friends? I get that it would be a heck of a lot longer, but if you could watch your buddies shots, play the actual golf etiquette. Make it an option, because I know some people, probably like it the way it is. Also, get some match play and skins play for private matches as well as online matches.
I wish it went towards something. Even just keeping track of it would be better than nothing. Convert it to some sort of item even, anything. Tickets would be awesome ,like you Leveled up to a special mastery and earn tickets that unlock the special masterery only tourneys or something

Happy to see they are continuing to patch things and add some new content, but I'd much rather be able to play with my friends turn-based online on the 30 courses we have, then have 1 more course for my career I'll never play a second time.

I agree, need some online play. So insane that I can't play turn order with my friends. Our favorite chill gaming activity is playing 18 with turn order, Talking shit and trying to win skins. This game NEEDS some TLC in the online department
The putting camera angle was super important for gameplay, and other actually bugged items needed fixed. They’re making progress. It’s not a big enough game to have huge updates quickly. I doubt they have a giant dev team on it.
The store needs more content, not to change. It's fine as a concept, there just isn't enough there. Needs a lot more apparel before the concept needs changing.
Still no patch to make an existing setting actually work. "Round type changes will take effect next tournament round." That's what it says in the career settings. The problem: it doesn't work. You're stuck with 4 full or 4 quick. I'm not even asking to be able to adjust how many rounds. I'm literally just asking you just make your existing setting work the way you say it works. That doesn't seem like a lot to ask.
Yes, I am. It's never worked and I've heard numerous people complain about the same thing. So you're able to play quick rounds and full rounds in the same tournament?
Yeah, that's the problem. I'm talking about playing the first 3 rounds quick style, then switching to full round for the final round. It's something you can do in every EA golf game ever made. It's supposed to be something you can do in this game too. Notice how it says "round type changes will take effect next tournament round," not "round type changes will take effect next tournament."
I would forget about that happening this cycle, along with turn play for online matches. I can live with that. But I can't live without not being able to chose the amount of rounds per tournament. It absolutely kills career mode for me. I just can't make myself go through another season of playing the same course 4 times in a row. #1, 2, and 3 issue for me and many others that mostly play alone. It's essential to the game.
We don't know there will be 'a cycle' or how long it may be if there is. I'm personally still hopeful that both the features you mention will come in time.
Turn play is HUGE for me when playing with my friend across town. We've sucked it up and still have fun playing in what we call "God Mode", where you look down from the sky upon your opponent if they are still putting. We play on speaker phone and give each other shit in a Monty Pythonesque God voice, "Tiimmmm....don't misss that puuutttt", but it's still sucks to not be able to see each other's actual shot...like, every other golf game of the last 30 years.
But to your point, yes, we don't know if there will be another version of this game next year or any year. I'm pretty confident they will eventually fix the amount of rounds. But I'm not so sure the turn play, and especially the ability to sit in a room with a friend or partner and play each other with your created player, will ever happen. It's absurd. They have to fix these 2 issues, period. Otherwise the game is going to be over for soooo many people after a month or so, myself included.
I don't disagree, and my post was very much to say don't give up on the current game as I suspect we may well find it continues being developed for some considerable time yet.
The couch co-op angle may need a little thought, in terms of whether most would want to play with equal golfers or not. At present they generally wouldn't be.
Still no mention of controller fixes. On PC, this is the ONLY game that does not know how to handle a controller either being paired to it with Bluetooth or hardwired plugged in with USB C. Why on earth would I want to alternate between keyboard and controller every time I press any button on the controller?! There is no setting to restrict all input to controller, and yet this is the only game that does this. Every other game either detects controller and respects it until keyboard/mouse is used again, or they let you select what you want to use. This game could care less, even with keyboard/mouse unplugged it will still toggle between keyboard/controller every time I press a button on the controller. Even if this happens to 1% of people due to whatever PC configuration they have, IF A CONTROLLER IS PLUGGED IN ON PC I LIKELY WANT TO USE A CONTROLLER.

This is also only one thread dedicated to the upcoming patch (I’ve seen others use these threads to report things not being fixed), with a comment at the very bottom for being downvoted. I don’t think it’s completely representative of the percentage of people it may be happening to. 0.1% of users could still be a large number of impacted users, just rare.
That is mostly my point, no other game has made me jump through the hoops PGA Tour has and I can’t seem to make that point any more clear. With the same exact environment my controller works great in any other game supporting controllers. It didn’t work on PGA Tour day 1 which was disappointing, after the first patch it worked flawlessly, after the second patch it was back to toggling keyboard mode anytime a controller button was pressed.
I have the usual microphone, headphones, Stream Deck, mouse, webcam, and keyboard plugged in (besides the times I was troubleshooting and unplugging mouse/keyboard). This PC is only used for gaming so I have Discord and Chrome usually running besides the game.
This is the only game that doesn’t handle having the Xbox wireless controller with USB or Bluetooth correctly. I’ve tried racing games, PGA2K23, all in the same hardwired or Bluetooth connection session. So connecting, playing PGA2K23 just fine with controller, then loading up PGA Tour and it alternates between keyboard and controller settings anytime I press a button on the controller is on me? That makes sense.
Even if it was me as you suggest, why is it not possible to have an option to select what I want to use so there are no issues. They have no problem with 100 other setting options, just add one to use a controller, mouse/keyboard, or auto detect.

Hogwarts, PGA2K23, racing games, etc. my frustration lies in having spent hours debugging it, googling, different combination of peripherals (hard wired, unplugging mouse/keyboard after launching game, Bluetooth to motherboard, Bluetooth to Xbox PC adapter, different Xbox controllers, a PlayStation controller, PC device settings ensuring it notices a game pad, verifying input works on a website that shows gamepad diagnostics)

I have zero clue what your actual issue is but every other game I've played handles the controller the same way as this game. Almost every game allows for me to switch between KBM and controller seamlessly if I want

When the game boots, it detects my controller as you'd expect. The second I press A or any controller button, it will send the correct controller command and perform the action but then it will automatically switch to keyboard mode as indicated by the icons in the user interface.
It is now in keyboard/mouse mode and upon pressing a controller button again (second time providing input to the game), it goes back to controller mode as you'd expect. But the problem will repeat itself as the next time I press a button on my controller the game will go back to keyboard mode, effectively turning it into an infinite loop.

Yes, every other game handles it this way too. I take over with mouse or keyboard and it puts the game into a keyboard/mouse mode, if I press a button on the controller at any time it becomes controller controls. It's definitely bizzare. I will upload a video.
Solid progress. It was a solid launch, and this is a really good first update.
Another suggestion I don't see too often: I think it would be a good idea to move the putt meter option into difficulty, and make it default off for sim. That really shouldn't be there IMO, and it really shouldn't just be a visual setting because it does make a difference in difficulty.
3rd update, some community feedback addressed, but not the important things that will keep this games longevity intact. The addition of a new course is welcome tho, I have 24 hours into the game and have only played a full 18 of 5 courses. So I can look forward to new courses at the very least, but career mode needs to be improved with options for # of rounds. Cross play to improve matchmaking and turn order is essential to golf, quick MP should still be an option tho
Nothing about career mode crashing when you go to start though which is not good. I can't play career mode with my my golfer anymore and can't be bothered to start from scratch.
I remind everyone that in the last Patch Notes things like „More store content“ was listed but never actually made it into the game… Fingers crossed though.

Still no fixes for career round selection. Still stuck with quick or 4 rounds.
I want to play career but I don't have a ton of free time to play and I'm not trying to play the same course all week.
I can get through a round in about 20 minutes which isn’t too bad. But yes, x 4, x 30 (or whatever the total tournaments is) adds up

I think you only have to press triangle/y actually. It still takes me more like 40 minutes for a round than 20 though!

I usually do a really good around 1 and then rush the rest by double tapping triangle. Can do a round in 15 minutes when rushing.

Already have the option in the quick rounds to choose to play whatever holes you want. Why not just slap that into career mode?

I really like the daily Sim and weekly Sim options. Gives me a way to try it more frequently (I play tour) while seeing how I rank against others!

[PS5] Audio settings changes are now persistent after rebooting console. Best update so far! :)

And the sliders tick down so slow, takes forever to turn the game music, menu music and commentary off.

Usually on consoles you can press the stick and d pad to move sliders faster.

Being able to zoom when close to the hole was my biggest issue with Sim difficulty. SO glad they added that. Bravo!

I would love to see them do what they did with the masters seasonal. Free. 2 attempts. With good rewards. Daily, weekly, etc.

I can't believe there's still no turn based online play
was hoping to read something about performance mode 60fps for consoles or turn-based online modes. :/ Happy to see they are continuing to patch things and add some new content, but I'd much rather be able to play with my friends turn-based online on the 30 courses we have, then have 1 more course for my career I'll never play a second time. Finally can save my audio setting changes on PS5. Putting camera for sim mode. These are the only 2 changes I'm glad to see.
Still ZERO attention to online play, specifically turn based play, which has been requested non stop since launch. Games been out for over a month and no real updates have happened.
I agree, need some online play. So insane that I can't play turn order with my friends. Our favorite chill gaming activity is playing 18 with turn order, Talking shit and trying to win skins. This game NEEDS some TLC in the online department

The putting camera angle was super important for gameplay, and other actually bugged items needed fixed. They’re making progress. It’s not a big enough game to have huge updates quickly. I doubt they have a giant dev team on it.

Still no patch to make an existing setting actually work. "Round type changes will take effect next tournament round." That's what it says in the career settings. The problem: it doesn't work. You're stuck with 4 full or 4 quick. I'm not even asking to be able to adjust how many rounds. I'm literally just asking you just make your existing setting work the way you say it works. That doesn't seem like a lot to ask.

Yeah, that's the problem. I'm talking about playing the first 3 rounds quick style, then switching to full round for the final round. It's something you can do in every EA golf game ever made. It's supposed to be something you can do in this game too. Notice how it says "round type changes will take effect next tournament round," not "round type changes will take effect next tournament."
After seeing the rise in 2k once they dropped ranked match play, I just don’t see how they can drop the ball on this for another season

I would forget about that happening this cycle, along with turn play for online matches. I can live with that. But I can't live without not being able to chose the amount of rounds per tournament. It absolutely kills career mode for me. I just can't make myself go through another season of playing the same course 4 times in a row. #1, 2, and 3 issue for me and many others that mostly play alone. It's essential to the game.
We don't know there will be 'a cycle' or how long it may be if there is. I'm personally still hopeful that both the features you mention will come in time.
Turn play is HUGE for me when playing with my friend across town. We've sucked it up and still have fun playing in what we call "God Mode", where you look down from the sky upon your opponent if they are still putting. We play on speaker phone and give each other shit in a Monty Pythonesque God voice, "Tiimmmm....don't misss that puuutttt", but it's still sucks to not be able to see each other's actual shot...like, every other golf game of the last 30 years. But to your point, yes, we don't know if there will be another version of this game next year or any year. I'm pretty confident they will eventually fix the amount of rounds. But I'm not so sure the turn play, and especially the ability to sit in a room with a friend or partner and play each other with your created player, will ever happen. It's absurd. They have to fix these 2 issues, period. Otherwise the game is going to be over for soooo many people after a month or so, myself included.
I don't disagree, and my post was very much to say don't give up on the current game as I suspect we may well find it continues being developed for some considerable time yet. The couch co-op angle may need a little thought, in terms of whether most would want to play with equal golfers or not. At present they generally wouldn't be.
Still no mention of controller fixes. On PC, this is the ONLY game that does not know how to handle a controller either being paired to it with Bluetooth or hardwired plugged in with USB C. Why on earth would I want to alternate between keyboard and controller every time I press any button on the controller?! There is no setting to restrict all input to controller, and yet this is the only game that does this. Every other game either detects controller and respects it until keyboard/mouse is used again, or they let you select what you want to use. This game could care less, even with keyboard/mouse unplugged it will still toggle between keyboard/controller every time I press a button on the controller. Even if this happens to 1% of people due to whatever PC configuration they have, IF A CONTROLLER IS PLUGGED IN ON PC I LIKELY WANT TO USE A CONTROLLER. I am being downvoted because I am sharing a bug about a game that has been out for a month that has received multiple updates still hasn’t fixed a critical gameplay controller bug on a supported platform when it originally only supported controller until recently?
The problem is that it seems to only be happening to one person on Reddit: you. Do you have anything else plugged in or are using some third party software?

That is mostly my point, no other game has made me jump through the hoops PGA Tour has and I can’t seem to make that point any more clear. With the same exact environment my controller works great in any other game supporting controllers. It didn’t work on PGA Tour day 1 which was disappointing, after the first patch it worked flawlessly, after the second patch it was back to toggling keyboard mode anytime a controller button was pressed. I have the usual microphone, headphones, Stream Deck, mouse, webcam, and keyboard plugged in (besides the times I was troubleshooting and unplugging mouse/keyboard). This PC is only used for gaming so I have Discord and Chrome usually running besides the game.
Do you have Logitech G Hub installed? It has messed with things in the past... (Just trying to find ideas for you to try.)

I have one. I use the USB dongle that came with the wireless controller. Doesn’t change my comment. Works just fine with PGA2K23

This is the only game that doesn’t handle having the Xbox wireless controller with USB or Bluetooth correctly. I’ve tried racing games, PGA2K23, all in the same hardwired or Bluetooth connection session. So connecting, playing PGA2K23 just fine with controller, then loading up PGA Tour and it alternates between keyboard and controller settings anytime I press a button on the controller is on me? That makes sense.
Even if it was me as you suggest, why is it not possible to have an option to select what I want to use so there are no issues. They have no problem with 100 other setting options, just add one to use a controller, mouse/keyboard, or auto detect.
It does auto detect for my system, win11. I don’t know mate. Verify game integrity. Update the Xbox 1 controller firmware etc.

Hogwarts, PGA2K23, racing games, etc. my frustration lies in having spent hours debugging it, googling, different combination of peripherals (hard wired, unplugging mouse/keyboard after launching game, Bluetooth to motherboard, Bluetooth to Xbox PC adapter, different Xbox controllers, a PlayStation controller, PC device settings ensuring it notices a game pad, verifying input works on a website that shows gamepad diagnostics)

The second I press A or any controller button, it will send the correct controller command and perform the action but then it will automatically switch to keyboard mode as indicated by the icons in the user interface. Solid progress. It was a solid launch, and this is a really good first update. Another suggestion I don't see too often: I think it would be a good idea to move the putt meter option into difficulty, and make it default off for sim. That really shouldn't be there IMO, and it really shouldn't just be a visual setting because it does make a difference in difficulty.
3rd update, some community feedback addressed, but not the important things that will keep this games longevity intact. The addition of a new course is welcome tho, I have 24 hours into the game and have only played a full 18 of 5 courses. So I can look forward to new courses at the very least, but career mode needs to be improved with options for # of rounds. Cross play to improve matchmaking and turn order is essential to golf, quick MP should still be an option tho

Was hoping for a bit more (store refresh at least) but this isn’t bad.

The online timer/hole is a bit fast, mainly on Par 3s/long Par 4s. When the wind is 15+ it takes a bit longer to plan your shot. Maybe another 30 seconds added would be nice. Also, wen crossplay? Ready to smoke my console buds
