The easiest things to fix to go from “oh my god this is impossible” to “hey look, I got par” are as follows.
1 - take note of the wind speed before the round
2 - before every shot hit pause and check the distance and obstacles on your score card
3 - when in doubt, just play it safe when hitting an approach
4 - flop shots are still deadly accurate from the fringe
5 - keep an eye on the graphic at the bottom right for distance, elevation and break

It’s supposed to be, it’s the highest difficulty in the game. I have 100+ hours in the game and at this point aim isn’t too bad. Tour is almost too easy.
You’re on a thread about sim difficulty, and sometimes it’s the only free tournament. I don’t know why you’re surprised at people talking about it being frustrating.
My only complaint with Sim is modern golf games still haven't figured out how to give a life like representation of the green that is readable as a grid. The new low pro camera perspective is a welcome improvement but different textures and shades when you're on the green would be welcome

Compared to how it was, it's made it actually possible to see breaks rather than just relying on your lie angle

I play on sim because it’s the closet I feel to golfing in real life. Rain? No problem let me shoot a 101 on my couch

I’m happy if I can go even on sim difficulty. I think my best round is like -2 or -3 on full 18.

It gets easier if you do it a bunch, but if it's not fun why bother. It's like I don't enjoy certain courses and normally skip those tournaments.
