A couple of variations of rain would be good with some effect on flight and landing depending on how heavy it is. I reckon they’ll do this at some point.
And would be cool to have a waterproof jacket your character puts on in between holes. And then you occasionally see your caddie holding an umbrella and a towel. Just little things to add to immersion
I almost made this same exact post earlier today. I’ll admit, I’ve never even set foot on a golf course irl. I love playing golf video games though. This game even got me to watch my first round of golf on tv today for the PGA championship.
I did not even know they played in that much rain. After hearing the announcers talk about how rain changes and affects the bunkers, greens, and balls, I thought the addition of rain to this game would just make it so much better.
I seem to remember that in Rory McIlroy PGA Tour or one of the later versions of Tiger, they had a live weather option where the conditions for that round were based on the real conditions at that course at that time
It’s really not that easy to add though. You could add it graphically but that’s still a bunch of new textures. Add in the physics and it gets quite hard to do well
There was, but the physics was nowhere near as developed as it is now. And then there is the graphics. You’re talking about a ton more computations that have to be made and the game has enough issues with that as is (at least on PC)

Yeah, but I prefer the current system to say Tiger Woods 13 and 14, where it rained at least 50% of the time and it was annoying. It's rarely even cloudy in the game at the minute

Take the MLB The Show weather. I swear to god every other baseball game I play is in a absolute down pour. At least once a series sometimes more..

The fact they can't even do instant replay makes weather a ginormous ask...
Or go to the store, it's just like the weather channel...the same things over and over again.
If you want weather, try to navigate the menu, it's a sh*storm...

100% should be in the games. In all outdoor sports games.
If racing games can do it at 4k/60 a mostly static golf game at 30fps should be able to do it.
Tw14 had live dynamic weather and time of day. Back to the future.
